#you know how they say time makes you look on the past with nostalgia and that's why elderly people think so fondly of past decades? not me #there are moments I look back on with nostalgia sure but the overwhelming feeling of looking back on my childhood is just whatever I do #wherever I go whatever happens that will not be my life again. my memory is long I made a promise to myself I intend to keep I don't forget #support you having your grandkids if their mother is deemed unfit yes. take the older two myself if it comes to it yes. move provinces to #live with you to look after the five of them together where you would be my only adult connection and there's a language barrier and I have #no work history and I'd be between five hours and nine hours away from any other connection I have answer's an absolute fucking no. I've #seen how you are with my sister how you were with my brother. who do you think they call when they've had enough of you? do you not #remember most of the beatings I took was because I was standing between you and my brother? of course not because according to you you #never did beat me but if you think I'm not aware that would turn on me again the second I'm no longer distant and just visiting if you #think you'd find nothing to complain about because you've built up this golden child ideal of me in your head and want to forget how it was #when I was actually in your care you are very very wrong. I remember. I know that inconveniences a lot of people who want to forget #unpleasant things about themselves. me too to be honest I have memories I wish I could erase but I can't especially with regard to my #sister. I defended my brother but not her. not enough. and it's probably why I give so much to her now more than I should because it's #enabling but it is what it is I guess. I won't use my memories against anyone just for the sake of it but I absolutely fucking will #to protect myself or others. you want a redemption arc without admitting to anything? keep being patient and kind towards #your grandchildren even if you end up having to take them and if you can't do it for all five of them then accept that it's better for the #older two to be with me. that's it. those are your options: the older two are with me so you only have to look after the younger three or #you need to buckle down and learn from your past mistakes to look after the five of them and all that is *if it even comes to that* which #as things are it's not in danger of that! it was a regular fucking visit to monitor the situation that's all; they're not getting taken #literally every time she freaks out about something it's a 50/50 chance it's actually something or she's invented a completely #twisted version of events

Greg looked at Tom’s finger, which was so near his face he could have bitten it if he wanted to. “So, um—”

“So I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing shitty gloves. Come on. Are you going to let me down, Greg?”

“No,” Greg said.

He wondered if Tom would pivot the point into a bracing, bro-ey clap upon the shoulder. Perhaps when he remembered his outstretched finger he would look at it like an alien traitor and draw back in a twitchy, awkward retreat. That eyeglint was still there, though, so what he did instead was step forward again and wag the finger in Greg’s face.

“Good boy,” he said, because he was really proficient at this—like, maybe it’s not corporate gaslighting, but it’s not not that, right? It was a mixed message, anyway: a stern finger and firm praise; his cruel and friendly gleam. He was proprietary; he disavowed. So, like, how the fuck was Greg to know whether to sit or stay or roll over?

eu4 gives me performance anxiety. i always feel like i should be near a world conquest in 1550 and not enjoying the game like i want to (slow paced, realistic, chill).

maybe i should slow the play speed even more. i play on 3 which is already a slow speed.

#eu4 #in my current game as netherlands i conquered almost all of the low countries before admin tech 10 #then i felt comfortable leaving the hre when i hit tech 10 and i can take the rest later (if ever #it's a great start but if you're netherlands you're already playing against 4 other ai colonisers which is not usually the case #if you play as a coloniser in the game since the netherlands isn't formed by the ai most games #so i just ignored the new world and focused on africa on the way to asia (until i get stronger or rich enough to hire mercs and take #historical voc lands and take colonial nations from other countries)#left to my own i'd paint the map through africa before reaching asia but i know i have to claim rich provinces fast #and i feel like i'm on a race against the ai #i'm fine never snowballing and conquering gb i just want to play the game #but i feel silently judged by the anti casual voices in my head #i wish therapy were cheaper

I hate getting so angry upon seeing a thin person come out and get top surgery and t within like a year or 2 of coming out. Like. Totally not their fault, really happy for them, mad at the system that prevents anyone over 150lbs from getting access to gender affirming care

You see these delectable motherflippers? These are called STATES. You stupid foreigners might not be able to wrap your head around this, but basically they're administrative subdivisions of the country.

And here's the thing: They are totally heckin' different from each other! For instance, New York:

Looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT from Kansas:

And they both look TOTALLY different from California!

So before you make fun of an American for not knowing where tiny third-world countries like "Check Republic" or "South Korea" are, maybe think about how much we have to learn about the unique regional differences in our OWN country. Maybe you should think about AMERICA more.
