Tarkin's death at the end of A New Hope was far too quick and we didn't even get the satisfaction of seeing him realize 'OH FUCK I'M NOT GOING TO SURVIVE THIS'.

I just wanted to share my thoughts because wow what a finale (this is messy because the finale has left me a mess)

First of all, watching it made me realise how much this show has come to mean to me

it has taken me on a great journey and I've loved every step of the way

now there's four things I wanna day about the finale and yes two of them are about echo

he's my favourite character and I was so stressed everytime I saw him on screen I really didn't want him to die

anyways

1. when he told rampart in his face that clones don't leave their brothers behind. I started sobbing.

echo who was left behind at the citadel only to be rescued by the bad batch on skako minor

echo who now gets to return the favor. he won't leave behind the brothers who saved him. the brothers who became his family. he's honestly come so far

2. I really liked when tarkin showed up and that we got a rogue one reference. is started watching that movie today with a friend who is trying to get into star wars. the reference was a funny coincidence

3. echo completed fives' mission. fives wanted to save his brothers. and echo did that. he got them out. got them safe. the last domino didn't fall. fives would have been so incredibly proud of him.

rex your arcs did it. the domino twins did it.

4. omega becoming a rebel was not something I expected but I love it so much. I've always liked the rebellion so much and seeing omega all grown up and joining the fight. using the skills her brothers taught her to fight for the greater good, that is just so beautiful. I know she will make them proud.

I can't believe the show is over. but it has been amazing and I will love it forever.

Bad Batch Season 3

I was asleep for a good moment. Then I saw visions of Hunter and Wrecker being the ones to die at the end of the season while Omega, Crosshair and Echo are too survive.

another thing is that in another part of my bad batch dreams is that Tech, as CX-2 had Hunter in binds whole guiding him to the shuttle silently before holding a deep conversation with Hunter.

then, Wrecker would seize Tech aka CX-2 much to the latter’s displeasure while, an unusually alive Plo Koon watched!

Ok final comment: Tarkin may be an utter snake, but he is ballsy enough to just casually lock himself and all his frenemies in a room and carry on as normal

I'm thinking about my alternate universe where Thrawn and Krennic are brothers-in-law because they're both with Tarkin's daughters. That they end up at a family reunion and Orson makes him drink alcohol for the first time in his life. And I can't stop laughing imagining how bad things can get.

I-I-I just saw someone say Tarkin didn't like the Death Star and only wanted it built because Palpatine did. Because he said certain things in Rogue One and Rebels.

No <3 Like they were really so wrong with their whole confidence.

Project Stardust is Tarkin's BABY. His baby. The Tarkin novel was all about how frustrated he was about delays and how he couldn't control everything and Vader seeing how much he had thought everything through voiced that he should be THE person in command even though Vader himself was against the project.

Even to the point when he was with Thrawn, Palpatine could feel he Vader wanted Thrawn to make a point about the Death Star so they could argue over it. He wanted to defend Tarkin's project to a random Grand Admiral and no one who hadn't read the Tarkin novel would truly understand the undercurrents there. Vader doesn't give a shit about the Death Star. He gives a shit about Tarkin and his passions. He cares a lot, maybe too much, about Tarkin.' Vader doesn't give a shit about the Death Star. I do think he was on the queer!Tarkin one though, he and Savit were VERY flirty.

But the point is, even as the person in charge, Tarkin couldn't stop the delays so he knew to publicly keep his distance. Appoint a scape goat, so when things went wrong-Krennic took the blame. While he and Vader knew-when things went right, they would be on that battle station. It was a cutthroat game of politics.

Amazing that years after Rogue One people still don't get it. Stardust is Tarkin's baby. Vader supports it largely cause of Tarkin, he tolerates it cause of Palpatine.

And the tweeter never mentioned Vader at all but of course I made this Vadarkin-

Ok hear me out.......... wlw Wilhuff Tarkin and Orson Krennic-

the dynamic very much is unhinged creative vs rigid control freak in a context of evil bureaucracy- and personally the context is why I love to read stories with imperials jdjdkd nothing is more crack cocaine literature for me than to make drama in a space office filled with awful people

More flavor text and me trying to sell you on why this ship of two truly terrible people is great below vvv

For Krennic, lean more into the evil genius artist. She's been up for 46 hours straight drawing schematics, she's rambling about incomprehensible shit, her only meals have been cigarettes and energy drinks, she's so full of herself she might one day think she's god, she's gonna die by 60. She doesn't care much about the politics of the empire, but they don't bother her either. She works for the imperials because they have a lot funds to give to engineers willing to build them a battle station the size of a moon capable of blowing up planets. Before that she worked on a lot a architectures on imperial center/Coruscant.

The imperial uniforms are a bit boring- so I'm taking full advantage of the fact Krennic is more of an engineer/architect to tweak her uniform a bit (and the cape was already not respecting regulations sooooo) For Tarkin I'm keeping it tho, this woman won't be caught dead without it.

For Tarkin, lean less into the whole buff survivalist aspect- she very much was in her youth, but she *is* a 65 year old woman based on *Peter Cushing*, and has been in a very high and prestigious position within the empire for the past 20 years. She still as an extensive knowledge on how to survive in nature, and fight with her bare hands or a knife, but that doesn't come up very often in her line of work anymore. She still killed a space bear unharmed when she was like 17 tho. She hates chaos and developed the main philosophy that drove the empire to this day : to govern with fear and impose order. She is a bloodthirsty woman in her sixties, with a never ending hunger for power, currently cheating on her wife with a coworker she hates.

They both love the death star more than they tolerate each other, but they did end up bonding over plotting the demise of one coworker they couldn't stand and digging out rebel spies. Make no mistake tho, this is very much a love triangle/trouple between two women and a giant battle station.

In the end, Tarkin killed Krennic by shooting her from orbit with the death star, the project was finally finished, she didn't need her anymore and she might have gotten in the way of her control of the station.

Tarkin dies a few days later during the battle of Yavin, along the death star, not willing to back down in her moments of glory.

PS : a lot of this is inspired by the fic "Propagating structure" by oneinspats ! it's what made me like and understand this pairing, and is truly a great work of fiction. I really think this fic is a masterful work when it comes to expending the character of Krennic, and extrapolating on existing things. Exploring his more creative side, his passion for his work, his truly abysmal lifestyle, giving him a hatred of nature and a background as an architect on Coruscant. While also keeping his horrific aspects, like reading his internal (or external) monologues sometimes makes my skin crawl with how disgusting his ideas are and how deep they run, but making him an interesting and compelling protag for the story. While all of it is surrounded by this delicious dramatic irony, because we know that no matter how hard they try to scheme (or fuck), the death star will blow up and it's incredible.
