Noah Jackson (Also just called Noah to differentiate)

An older and more mature version of Jackson from the previous post. Design pulled from my current design for Noah Moreau (ME OC)

SONGS: Prayers i by Teebs and BIRTHDAY by The Lumineers First song is a much more grounded telling of the past events. Revealing some more key factors that you tend to ignore when you're in a self-loathing state. Of course there's still melancholy felt, this idea that those around you hate you, but it's a borning and tiring feeling now. And there's signs that they want to help you, you just need to let them. And that leads into the second song, accepting that help. The only way to get yourself out of the hole is to grab the rope that is being provided. Letting yourself feel your feelings and get help for them. The start to the path of recovery.

ART STYLE: Still my same old style, and sketchy, but this time with solid lines, the background is just real photos/video footage now.

Fun notes/symbolism:

Bares a burn scar on his right shoulder, from the house burning. Did I say the house burning was a metaphor? Yes I did. It can also be reality. You can also say that it's a physical representation of an emotional/mental scar.

Noah's always been this character I've used to work through my problems, and a symbol of healing to me. So much so that I decided to take this name as my own at a certain turning point in my life.

Using a more solid version of the previous artstyle, I wanted to show that he's grown and has a much more solid sense of self, and understanding of his emotions. It's still sketchy and not clean because there's still more healing and work to do.

The choice to use real video footage/photos is to symbolize finally seeing the world around you, and seeing reality for what it is.

Noah represents the more mature and healing stage of this journey. Letting people in, letting them help you. With Noah's story that concludes the overarching series story. (Besides the outro song)

The media literacy in the D20 fandom, on tumblr at least, is very... questionable. Reddit is about as bad. A lot of nuance lost replaced by projection and fan demands of the cast that are unreasonable. Sometimes it's like the cast will say/ask something and everything afterwards is in one ear and out the other as posts appear on tumblr in real time about a theory that was disproved if they had listened for thirty seconds longer or watched the BtS.

Taking quotes out of context, forgetting player opinions change over time, and that as good as Dropout is about flagging their content for fans they're not putting themselves through rigorous purity tests in character.

I haven't been able to have a conversation about the recent season with anyone, Siobhan was wrong. I am absolutely in tears this season more than in ACoC - and it's because no one can fucking listen/read let alone process the concepts and themes.

Lol, yeah it's been interesting to see for sure, especially when something is clarified immediately like Brennan saying that to be added to the "in memoriam" section late means that grading was already completed and it would not have affected the rat grinders or put them to pass/fail, or is a weirdly bad faith take for a show and company and group of people that really is putting in so much work to be good and inclusive and kind to their audience and employees.

IDK, I am finishing the last Intrepid Heroes season I haven't watched yet, and I have yet to be disappointed or frustrated or anything less than absolutely delighted with a story. So I'm perfectly happy just sitting back and watching masters at work. I have absolutely been burned before by shows (iykyk), but this group knows how to tell brilliant and satisfying stories, so I'm just along for whatever ride they have planned out for us! And I'm doing my best to just roll my eyes and scroll, because I'm not interested in letting anything take away the pure joy I feel watching the show. (That said, I do get a little *Captain Holt voice* "vindicatioooooon" during AP episodes when the cast says exactly what I was thinking, or point out my same frustrations with lack of understanding. Like, samesies. Probably because I'm in the same age group as the cast so like, I Get It.)

ANYWAY, this was my first d20 ask which was a delightful surprise, so thank you! Here's to many more seasons of brilliant storytelling full of complex and interesting characters and situations. And lots and lots of laughs.

Project: IYKYK bts for Jackson (The e-boy looking one with the beanie) spoilers below if you care :3

Noah Jackson (referred to as Jackson to differentiate)

The original design for my ME OC, Noah Moreau, back when he was just supposed to be this asshole brother character and before I latched onto him and fleshed him out more. And then named myself after him XD

SONGS: Ful stop by Radiohead and April by The Lumineers The first song is just full of self hatred about the actions he took in past events. These events, once again will vaguely mirror the events of S.L. and Arz. There will be sprinkled in metaphors of his mental state during this time as well. The second song will be an entire metaphor for Jacksons mental state and how he deals with it.

ART STYLE: Very much my sketch art style. Since this is more grounded in reality of relating to me, but also not a fully fleshed person. So the opacity by pressure is turned on to give the lines more of a feathery (?) look. The background is just gradients or solid colours and vibrant lines to represent ideas/objects. You can also faintly see the construction lines.

Fun notes/symbolism:

Designed to look like an edgy teenage boy, cause he is one. Duh, vaguely wanted to replicate the e-boy style of clothing when I was in highschool, but also didn't want to create a complete e-boy.

There's a lot of house burning symbolism in his story to represent a broken mental state. If I pulled this from BRIGHTSIDE no i didn't, also it's sort of a funny coincidence. (I have old drafts of the original story ideas that I never followed through with, he did in fact burn a house down in them)

With the art style I wanted to represent that this is me basically explaining my emotional situation, at the time, with just the stories being fictional for anonymity sake (And even then they're probably gonna end up vaguely resembling my real life)

The background choice though is for ease sake, and the fact that it's more of a inner brain turmoil than what reality reflects.

The fact you can faintly see the construction lines also represents that his journey isn't complete, still being constructed ya know.

He represents facing your reality and all you can feel is torment and despair, viewing the world with jade tinted glasses. Hating yourself and viewing yourself as the enemy once again.

Project: IYKYK more bts this time bout Arz (The red sweater one) Once again beware spoilers if you care lol TW talk of drugs and their effects, abuse mention

Arz (Don't ask bout the name. I can't be assed to rename them but it's related to my deadname. But it's also like, 3 letters so idrc XD)

Yes they're pulled from my time when I was in the 3ddsworld fandom. (censored to not show up in tags I'd feel bad). If you recognize them, congrats you've probably seen me on the Red Army Amino roleplaying and stuff. And if you were there, Much love I miss that amino, I had a lot of fun :P

Obviously their story is changing a bit cause I gotta disconnect it from that show, idk how much. The setting for the story isn't that important rn. As it is, they're in a violent group or something. Fucked environment ig.

SONGS: Red Sex by Vessel and Farewell by Bernth (Good song btw very pretty plz listen to it) (Yes they're both instrumental songs) The two songs are very very different but that's perfect for Arz. The first song will explore their relationship with other members and the group/world in general. The second song will explore them leaving that environment and falling into despair (This leads to the next characters story Jackson, Noah Jackson)

Since the songs have no words, the instrumental relates back to the emotional side of the story, so if you want an idea of the emotional listen to them :p

STYLE OF ART: Cartoony but gritty. Also has a pixelated effect, i really want to show that this is a dark world but also very very much not real. Since the setting isn't all that clear either (And it's more the people around them and the emotions that matter) the background take on more of a trippy, non-diegetic style. It's gonna be a bunch of patterns and textures and what not.

Fun notes/Symbolism:

Will there be presence of drugs in the story? Yes. Sort of using them to represent my own personal struggle with substance use, especially to cope.

They also just represent the "Bad Boy" I wanted to be when I was younger XD Never would happen I'm too much of a goody two shoes but hey, a look into my edgy middle school subconscious

S.L. ends up creating this world, as their way of changing one of their past decisions. Seeing what would of happened.

The story reflects on that fact, and shows that it would of been a different type of bad anyways.

The first song will parallel S.L's story as well. From this [REDACTED] will be fully revealed as [REDACTED] which will also tie into [REDACTED] (maybe on that last redacted) I want to show the strong connection between their two stories.

Reason for the backgrounds just being trippy as well is (i'm lazy) and to give it that intoxicated feeling. The relationships they have are intoxicating and abusive, with people and drugs.

Silver Leader Edition (the one with the fluffy hood)

Silver Leader (S.L) (lazy name ik, I'm a lazy man XD)

Pulled from an old sona I did back in middle school. Ofc everything I wrote about them is gonna be completely changed, the only thing staying is like the setting. I say that loosely.

SONGS: Input and Alarms/Lights by Faunts The story will follow their execution and aftermath, reflecting their emotions of regret and bargaining (or smth, I'm not good with the written world lol) A story told through flashbacks so the timeline is a little convoluted probably.

The songs lyrics reflect loosely on the story and more so the emotions of S.L. So dig into that if ya want. (Also just, the Faunts make good electronic music, their songs were used for the credits of ME1 and ME3 :> Also Hometown band represent!!)

STYLE OF ART: I'm thinking PMV style. The colours are all washed out and the backgrounds will be faint and murky. But still vaguely readable.

Fun notes/symbolism:

They are blinded after their execution because of [REDACTED] representing that they have an incorrect sense of truth. Also I just wanted to keep that detail of them. Idk it's important to me (They used to be called Blind Leader. I never did name them still haven't)

They don't have a name! They have no identity besides being the leader. A bit of a workaholic if you ask me

The art style represents how dull life can look when you loose your sources of joy. Everything still looks bright (like whitewashed) though because it's also supposed to be dreamy(?) distant idk. Fantasy <3 Also it's a snowy world cause I love the winter. Snow<3 But it's also a more realistic art style to keep it somewhat grounded in reality.

since the logo is like swirls, I'm thinking of using snakes for a poison metaphor. They're letting the poison sort of take over their emotions/world view basically.

Their story leads straight into Arz's story as well (which I wil dive into on Arz's page)

They represent blaming oneself and ones decisions. Wanting to change those decisions because you feel like you'll get a better outcome. As well as viewing yourself as a monster who has destroyed the lives of those around you. But the story around them represents that they have a twisted view on the situation. A self defeating view of the situation. Mind you this is Part 1 of the over arching story

Project: IYKYK bts, Spoilers Beware if you even care lol. Rambles about the general project, if you want specific characters/songs look in the tag

Okay so plans are, an over arching story broken up into little stories. The videos can be viewed independently and still be entertaining, I think I have 2 songs per character, at least you can watch just the character and get their story.

ALSO! Each character has a specific style, art style, style of video to tell the story, and maybe they show up in the other styles as well when there is cross overs :3

As of right now, there are 4 characters (5 if you include myself, but there's not really a story there more just an intro and outro to the series. These vids will probably be confusing and maybe not that interesting but whatever XD Idc)

Each character does in fact tie in with one another!! even if it's in weird round about ways and sometimes won't be shown on screen and is just a tidbit for me to know :P

I pulled all the designs from my old Sonas and Oc's (That are basically self inserts at this point), for reasons. (Look it's basically me telling my life story through fiction to keep it somewhat detached) Though they're getting vague make overs and story revamps. I also pulled these specific characters as representations for specific points in my life, the original creation date and the mental state I was in during those times.

I tried to choose songs that resonated with me and I listen to a lot, but I had to scratch a bunch of songs, and find some new ones I've never listened to. But it worked out and I found new songs I like! Was originally gonna have a lot more Brightside Album songs by the Lumineers and Tame Impala songs but it did not work out. I'm just glad I was able to get 1 brightside song in there. Even if it sounds vaguely out of place. The playlist may change overtime too as I flesh out these stories more.

While I work on the videos, I am planning on making still pieces to go along with the stories. Thumnails, posters, just like scenes in general. Whatever pops into my head. Though thinking about it posters would be cool af. Also I have more experience making still pieces that moving ones. But my brain works in movement so weird balance I have to walk.

The styles I came up with will probably be more bare bone for the video parts, just to save time and my sanity XD

Basically this entire project is for me to strengthen my redesigning and writing muscles. As well as bring a piece of work to completion that is completely my own. AND work through my own problems or i guess, release myself from them. It's my final send off to that chapter of my life. Two birds one stone :) Or should I say mountain cause this really is a huge project (in comparison to what I've done in the past) INTRO/OUTRO: Intro song: Pyramid Song by Radiohead

Introduces moi, starts in reality to a dream state, from here it introduces the main sonas and situations briefly, with hints that these people are in fact representations of myself.

Outro song: Impression from the ICO soundtrack

Concludes the story arc, leaving the fantasy of these events behind to face the reality of these events. To be myself, and not hide behind fiction and convoluted metaphors of my own emotions. Waking up from that dream.
