#OC: Arz

Project: IYKYK more bts this time bout Arz (The red sweater one) Once again beware spoilers if you care lol TW talk of drugs and their effects, abuse mention

Arz (Don't ask bout the name. I can't be assed to rename them but it's related to my deadname. But it's also like, 3 letters so idrc XD)

Yes they're pulled from my time when I was in the 3ddsworld fandom. (censored to not show up in tags I'd feel bad). If you recognize them, congrats you've probably seen me on the Red Army Amino roleplaying and stuff. And if you were there, Much love I miss that amino, I had a lot of fun :P

Obviously their story is changing a bit cause I gotta disconnect it from that show, idk how much. The setting for the story isn't that important rn. As it is, they're in a violent group or something. Fucked environment ig.

SONGS: Red Sex by Vessel and Farewell by Bernth (Good song btw very pretty plz listen to it) (Yes they're both instrumental songs) The two songs are very very different but that's perfect for Arz. The first song will explore their relationship with other members and the group/world in general. The second song will explore them leaving that environment and falling into despair (This leads to the next characters story Jackson, Noah Jackson)

Since the songs have no words, the instrumental relates back to the emotional side of the story, so if you want an idea of the emotional listen to them :p

STYLE OF ART: Cartoony but gritty. Also has a pixelated effect, i really want to show that this is a dark world but also very very much not real. Since the setting isn't all that clear either (And it's more the people around them and the emotions that matter) the background take on more of a trippy, non-diegetic style. It's gonna be a bunch of patterns and textures and what not.

Fun notes/Symbolism:

Will there be presence of drugs in the story? Yes. Sort of using them to represent my own personal struggle with substance use, especially to cope.

They also just represent the "Bad Boy" I wanted to be when I was younger XD Never would happen I'm too much of a goody two shoes but hey, a look into my edgy middle school subconscious

S.L. ends up creating this world, as their way of changing one of their past decisions. Seeing what would of happened.

The story reflects on that fact, and shows that it would of been a different type of bad anyways.

The first song will parallel S.L's story as well. From this [REDACTED] will be fully revealed as [REDACTED] which will also tie into [REDACTED] (maybe on that last redacted) I want to show the strong connection between their two stories.

Reason for the backgrounds just being trippy as well is (i'm lazy) and to give it that intoxicated feeling. The relationships they have are intoxicating and abusive, with people and drugs.

Since everyone's been showing off their Hello Puppets! OCs lately, I might aswell show mine!

"Nick's friendly feline! Angel is a sassy but curious cat, mostly seen in Nick's arts studio. Ironically she's bestfriends with Riley's good boy, Rosco."

In the show:

She was a stray kitten Nick found in an alleyway near his local supermarket, he ended up adopting the feline when she suddenly climbed onto his leg and wouldnt let go.

Outside of the show:

She was one of Jake's 2 pet cats, one day he brought them to work after a vet visit because he couldnt find a cat sitter(and also because Owen was very strict with the work schedule). Somehow she escaped her carrier and endep up walking onto the set, while they were filming! Luckily, Jake was able to improvise the whole scene, saving the crew alot of time. The feline even played along, acting as if she was always planned to be there.

Owen was not happy with the sudden intervention, but after hearing some feedback from the fans, he decided to let the incident slide and eventually added Angel to the show.

Relationship with the Handeemen(Show counterparts):

- Rosco: As said before, she is best friends with the good boi! They're always seen playing or even cuddling with eachother.

The writing team thought it would be pretty ironic for the main cat and dog of the show to not act like cats and dogs(its also so they contrast their owners), another reason was because she was the only cat who wasnt afraid of the Rosco suit, infact, she was fond of it.

- Nick: She is very fond of him(considering he adopted her and all), however she can get abit annoyed at his dramaticness(on some episodes she's his meow of reason).

Nick sees her as his sassy daughter, he likes to dress her up and put her on mini fashion shows(Angel doesnt mind, as long as she gets a treat later). He also taught her how to paw paint ever since she had showned an interest in it(with pet safe paint of course).

- Riley: She's pretty neutral with the scientist, tho she does dislike the loud fights she and Nick would cause. Sometimes, both her and Rosco would try to break them up, and in some cases, they would succeed(only for them to start arguing again a few minutes later).

The feeling is mostly mutual, with Riley having a slight dislike towards the feline. The reason being how Angel(like every other cat), would purposely knock over random stuff off of high places, which annoys the scientist greatly.

This behavior led to a small(and thankfully harmless) explosion to happen, which also led to the feline getting banned from the Ruckus Lab™

- Daisy: While she can get abit uncomfortable with the baker's constant smothering, she enjoys spending time with her(mostly because she knows Daisy wont hesitate to give her free treats).

Daisy absolutely adores Angel and would often make homemade treats for her(the feline reminds her alot of an old family cat Daisy used to have when she was still living in the country side), however she does wish that Angel would shed less she would also knit sweaters for her and help make cat clothes for Nick's mini fashion show.

- Mortimer: Angel is pretty friendly with the old man, she's usually seen sitting on his lap while he's drinking tea or reading a book(sometimes he'll even read one to her).

Its the same with Mortimer, he considers the feline as a great practice audience for his magic shows and storytelling.

More Info about her:

- The B stands for Beatrice(which was named after Nick's dead mother).

- Her real name is actually Cookie(Owen thought it wasn't a name Nick would pick, so he changed it to Angel), her brother's name was Cream(he was a a turkish van cat with heterochromia).

- Sometimes her brother would make a cameo in the show as a backrgound character, tho they couldnt make him Nick's second cat. Mostly because, unlike his sister, Cream was terrified of the puppets(especially Mortimer).

A Dog Person🐶 and a Cat Person🐱

I love both cats and dogs. But since I grew up with dogs, I’m more of a dog person (Sorry, Nicholas).

Anyway, I realized that I didn’t draw Rosco often, so here he is. I also draw @aroaceweirdos101’s OC named Angel B. Whiskers, who is Nick’s pet cat. I had fun drawing her and I hope you like it. 😊

Guess who finished another Hello Puppets! OC's ref sheet, THIS GAL!!!(cant believe I finished this guy in 1/2 days)

"Duke is a brave, and albeit foolish(often said by his cousin, Riley) daredevil. Who sometimes, unintentially causes trouble. Despite that, He's always there to help people face their fears and become as daring as he is!"

In the show:

Duke first appeared in the episode, 'Daring Danger', when the Handeemen decided to attend one of his stunt shows. After the show he immediatly recognised Riley and decided to pay her a visit, slightly embarrassing her infront of the other Handees-

He decides to hang around for a while, accidentally causing a few accidents to happen due to his recklessness. Eventually, around the end of the episode, he learns a valuble lesson on safety and how to be careful.

Outside of the show:

He was created by one of the show's writers, Avery Flores, as a self insert and aswell as a possible side character for the show. It took awhile but Owen finally accepted his submission and made him Duke's official pupeteer!

Nobody knows what had happened to Avery when the studio fire started, but it is highly likely that he didnt make it...

Relationship with the Handeemen(Show counterparts):

- Rosco: Duke adores the golden retriever, he would always give him alot of belly rubs and treats whenever he gets to visit(Duke always wanted to have a dog, but due to his constant travels(and the fact he lives in a van), he's unnable to own one).

Rosco loves to play with Duke and would look forward to his visits(which makes Riley abit jealous), their favourite thing to do together is digging!

- Riley: As said before, Duke is Riley's reckless cousin(specifically from her mother's side), they've knowned eachother since they were toddlers and would often visit eachother during the holidays. Duke likes to tease her about her height, despite also being short.

Riley might never admit it, but she is glad to have Duke's company(as she didnt have many friends back then). Tho, she is tired of constantly scolding him for his reckless behaviour.

- Nick: Duke sees the artist as a close friend of his. The two would often exchange terrible dad jokes and team up to prank/tease Riley(much to the scientist's dismay). He's also one of the only few who wilingly listens to the artist's poems(tho half the time, Duke gets distracted by other things and ends up forgeting what Nick just spoke).

While Nick is annoyed by Duke's reckless antics(he still holds a grudge againts him for accidentally ruining one of his paintings that took hours to finish), he's glad to have another theater kid to talk to(Yep, Duke's a theater kid. So is Riley, but she's in the closet).

- Daisy: Duke LOVES Daisy's cooking(as it reminds him of his grandma's), he would often try and volunteer to help her in the kitchen(tho he was quickly banned after he somehow set it on fire the moment he stepped in).

Daisy's mother hen tendencies are increased when Duke's around, mostly due to his clumsy nature(he keeps giving her heart attacks with his definitely not safe stunt shows). Tho, its safe to say the two are good friends.

- Mortimer: The daredevil admires the old magician as he never cease to amaze him with his unbeliavable magic tricks, so much so that Duke wouldnt stop talking about them(he's abit of a chatter box). He greatly respects him.

Mortimer is both amused and overwhelmed by his enthusiam, either way, he's glad to have another person be his practice audience.

More Info about him:

- Since it was the 80s, his transgender reprsentation was never outright said due to the censorships. However, the crew managed to work around it by giving small hints throughout the show(e.g., sneakily showing a trans bumper sticker on his van).

- On some occasions, he'll dye his hair a different color to match the theme of the episode, or out of curiosity on what they'll look like.

- He has ADHD, Riley made him get a diagnosis after showing multiple signs of having it(that probably explains why he gets distracted easily, and why he keeps forgetting shit-).

- He is allergic to cats(they found out after he tried to pet the neighbors cat when he was little), tho that doesnt stop him from trying to pet any cat he finds, much to Riley's annoyence(she had to stop him from petting Angel when he first met the feline).
