there's always people who don't fucking use their brains when it comes to B + A comparison.

yes A was a narcissict and stole money from her family's trust and cheated on the guy before luke, and on luke with blackbear. and whatever the fuck else, we're not talking about every little thing because yes, of course they're different people.

99% of the time we're talking about the things that literally are the same about them: dating a band member, their online activity, their appearances too being both latina ("you look alike" isn't that deep, they're both pretty and like botox and tbh have the same boobs lol), the huge want to be instagram famous but not having the drive or depth to back it up. doing shitty things to people irl and online. and then crying when they got called out on their bullshit. when a fandom collectively says "we don't like the way you've interacted with us" and they don't think they've done a thing wrong? not saying fans are saints of course, it's the gfs not understanding how they came across, their first impressions...

I'm proper reminiscing and dude... every time a new partner comes along, I PRAY they're good and nice. 10 years later, I'm still being disappointed.

hmmm i see what youre saying. the only thing is, you cant compare someone to an abuser without implying the abusive characteristics unless you explicitly say otherwise

abuse is a very heavy and serious accusation and to be so frivolous with a comparison can truly be damaging to someone. i know youre not saying that brandy is abusive or a cheater but when you broadly compare someone who is to her then those characteristics are inherently implied.

dont get me wrong, you can definitely compare the two and their attitudes towards the fandom; all im saying is that its a nuanced topic that needs to be handled with caution. if youre going to compare them then you need to be explicit about what youre comparing because its not fair to pit an abusive individual against someone who isnt without the fair warning

it fooled me! i didnt know much about arzs history and i definitely didnt know that anons were assuming i knew that they weren't talking about her abuse/cheating characteristics

alsooo to say 'we're not talking about every little thing' as if her cheating and abuse history are 'little things' is rather dismissive. those arent little things, theyre the first things that come to mind when considering arzs wrongdoings. so no, its not like we're comparing 'every little thing'; these are the most blatant obvious things you cant overlook when talking about her character

to assume that someone else knows that youre not making the comparison to those characteristics is ultimately naive and dangerous. no one else knows the context you are writing in unless you express it. no one else can read your mind. readers WILL interpret your writing differently to how you intend it unless you are very intentional and specific

i dont think its the reader not 'using their fucking brain', i think its actually the writer not understanding how their words come across objectively. its the writers inability to consider their writing without their own subjective views and context clouding their judgement. if the reader doesnt understand or misinterprets your point, 9 times out of 10 thats because you havent explained it properly, not because the reader is dumb lol
