About Shadow During The Metal Virus Arc

Yeah, we all know how he handles it in canon given the guidelines that Sega has given all of the writers which has flattened his character out and even though it's considered a soft reset of the characters, I will first point out, a soft reset means they want you to keep the previous canon in mind. Which means, as a result, they want you to keep all of Shadow's characterization in mind. As a result, they massively flub this (as in Sega, I understand why Ian had to do it the way it got done) even with the soft reset and butcher Shadow's character.

So... mine is not going to take the route Canon does. Because we all know that we hate it and how it was done. I can get why it was done, narratively, and from a perspective of writers not able to work with their own IP and stuck with Sega limitations, buuut, as a sonic fan! I am not confined to those and will actually be taking his Adventure Era personality into effect and mind along with the character growth from it since we are supposed to be still considering all of that as canon to his character.

To start off with: Yes, he still brings the truck. He still argues with Sonic. He absolutely in the Tinker arc still tried to get rid of the threat Eggman is. Except in this end, he wasn't looking to kill him. He was looking to imprison him and keep him under active surveillance so that even if he was found (as we see Starline do) they could keep him under lock and key and prevent him from breaking out and Shadow could have even utilized the ARK for this purpose himself and been the one doing it (since he has access by now as G.U.N. clearly exists if the ARK exists). This still fails, Sonic still gets his way leading into the Metal Virus.

The biggest difference I am making to his character? He does not believe himself to instantly be immune to the virus. Because with his Adventure Era personality in tact, he would have the wits and intelligence necessary to realize that while he definitely is resistant, like Sonic, it's a new virus. It would not have been made when he was, so he would be capable of contracting it.

Second change I am making? This is where we find out that Shadow's resistance to the virus is much higher than Sonic. Yes, I get it. The infection cure is based on Sonic speed data, which could still be a thing that happens and is used. In my canon, the reason they use Sonic is because he is a full Mobian. Not artificially made. But they would discover that on top of speed helping Shadow burn it off, his Black Arms DNA is highly resistant naturally to the virus and when mixed with the fact he has raw Chaos energy in his body, this burns it at a higher rate. This, of course, means Sonic still has his stakes, but Shadow has a different set of stakes. As highly resistant does not mean immune. And... in this canon, removing his inhibitor rings does the same as running for long periods does for Sonic and burns it off. Speed is consistent, Shadow has a unique move set and ability repertoire that makes him uniquely resilient to the virus.

Last change? He does not let himself get stuck. He gets swarmed and like any reasonable Ultimate Lifeform who actually remembers his abilities, he uses Chaos Blast to destroy the swarm around him, uses the tornado move him and Sonic do in heroes to keep that space, and actually trusts and listens to Rouge after making sure there's enough out of the way and not overwhelming their position to let Rouge escape because he's not losing anyone else.

Shadow, also unlike Sonic, does not go to Restoration HQ, he radios when he gets infected so people are aware of his infection so they do not touch him, but he respects the fact that introducing a biohazard into a base where only healthy people should be is a very bad idea. He's out and about and helps with various rescues that Sonic and Co do without it changing much besides him being able to crowd control better.

However, as the virus continues to mutate. Shadow is eventually unable to fight it off ... and he does become fully infected and is taken out of the playing field. He behaves as a Zombot similar to how he does in canon, with the difference that the zombot Shadow can learn how to use the rocket shoes and so becomes even more of a threat as he turns out to be smarter than the average zombot, stronger, as well as having more resilience against attacks compared to average zombots. This makes him an actual consistent threat, gives More motive and stakes to find the cure, and the rest of canon proceeds after his infection the same as it does in the comics, it just is much later that he becomes infected.

Some Aventurine headcenons:

- He can't swim properly (never got to learn)

- He has a lot of plants and hires someone to take care of them when he's away. His place looks like a jungle and his balcony is overflowing with them, that's where he spends most of his time when he's in Pier Point. (If there's a cold season in Pier Point his balcony has a sliding glass window that turns it into a greenhouse)

- Thankfully offset by the plants, the rest of his IPC accommodation is just as gaudy and luxurious as his outfits. It's somewhat eclectic because he chooses decorations by process of 'ooh shiny/cool' but there's a clear preference for art nouveu and art deco even though he probably wouldn't know that's what it's called.(He likes the interior design of the reverie but doesn't know why) It's in a luxury apartment block and he had to finesse his way through the chain of command to get it approved for him.

- He genuinely likes green, it's not just cause of his stone(he's wearing the wrong shade anyway) (yeah, the plants)

- He'd wear a lot of colour and jewelry even if he weren't "rich" or maintaining an image(based on the splashes of colour on little Kakavasha's Avgin clothes)

- He doesn't have an actual birthday on file. It's logged as the day the IPC "acquired" him. The only reason he knows the standard system date is because of the massacre. The Avgin calendar is different from the standard system one, so the documentation of the Katican attack was his only way of finding out. Since finding out, all he does on his birthday is burn a Knot of Cyclicality and say a prayer. He's no longer sure if it matches up with the Avgin calendar's Kakava.

- Since he gives out money like it grows on trees and I can imagine his project plans are fairly fluid that would mean that so are his budgets too. It makes me wonder if he's got money on off-shore accounts someplace in the galaxy the IPC hasn't reached yet.

-Converseley, the jewelry he's wearing could be his final asset. I can imagine that watch to be worth at least enough to sustain one person for a year(especially on worlds with a lower cost of living). The bracelets could buy you a vehicle and his other accessories are pocket money, all in case he's gotta run.

-He can drive and he wants to learn how to pilot a ship but the IPC is barring him

-He'd never sell the earring tho

-He also carries his family's heirlooms (the shirt, necklace and charm) everywhere he travels, also in case he has to run. I believe only the most dire of circumstances would stop him from retrieving them. (I also think the charm is the earring so these two are basically the same headcanon)

- Back to the swimming, he's both afraid of submerging his head under water(having to play dead in a pool of blood, probably thinking you'll drown in it does that to a kid) and drawn to large bodies of water.

-His gloves conceal scars on his hands from the chains he had to use as a "tool"

What do we know about Joris le Sans-Pouvoir (Joris the Powerless)?

Aka, addressing the "cancelled Nintendo DS game"-shaped elephant in the room.

While this blog has gone deep into the show and character dissections, I think it would be remiss to proceed without addressing the elephant in the room — the game, the myth, the legend, the 2007-2009ish cancelled game Joris le Sans-Pouvoir.

There isn't a lot that is known about it, and all the data in this post comes from two developers.

I spent hours trying to convert these two SWF animation video files, — which demonstrate how the game was supposed to look, — to something actually viewable. There were many issues, with at least seven different programs.

I suffered for crepinjurgenology studies, but I did it.

Instead of recounting the story in my own words and omitting anything on accident, I will simply present to you, what the portfolios of two different developers say (these two pages are the source of all the images, gifs, and gameplay):

Joris Le sans-Pouvoir is the main character from a feature film Ankama due in 2013. It’s a new character IP situated in the DOFUS universe. I had the chance to work on a platform game prototype that was all about delving into of the character’s backstory. We wrote a lot of background and had a lot of fun designing and developping a cute and quirky platformer with a hint of metroidvania elements and a dash of Grow gameplay elements in-between levels. It also was a great opportunity to work with Jono Takeshi-san of Radiata Stories fame who worked with me on the art direction. (SOURCE)

Joris was the first Nintendo DS project developed at Ankama (in partnership with Magic Pockets). I began working on the project as narrative game designer, then took on the role of Lead Designer and Project Manager. Game design on this project involved boss fight, level design, minigame design, UI… I also designed an original collecting system where collectible items were used in a minigame inspired by the “Grow” series. The developpement has been put on hold to match the release of the animated movie with the same character (scheduled in 2013). (SOURCE)

Neither the movie nor the game, survived their development, due to circumstances. (shorthand for: I have no idea what happened, man. Maybe one day I'll write a post about the history of the movie, and truly open that can of worms, but god, not right now. I don't want to spend more time on this.)

Eventually, The Wakfu film turned into three OVAs instead, and the Dofus film changed its plot a bunch of times, and became Livre 1 : Julith.

...For some reason, in some version of it, Joris had a tail. Yeah, I don't know what that's about either. Cool clothes, though!

We don't know anything about its plot, and unlike cancelled projects Dofus Donjons and Welsh et Shedar (which was cancelled for years, until its recent resurrection), the lore of this game carries no relevancy in modern canon.

The name, Joris the Powerless, as well as the log-centric gameplay, both seem to reference the early concept that Joris had log-based powers, — and that without his "magic wand," he couldn't do much.

(Joris and his weird fucking "magic wand" were, in turn, borne out of the idea of a warrior who had a woman's voice. Which makes me chuckle.)

This is, by the way, the reason why I personally headcanon Joris to be really bad at huppermagic. So bad that he dropped out of the Huppermage Academy, and almost never uses magic in combat. It's a homage to his original idea.

(Yes, there is an actual reason why I headcanon Joris to be godawful at magic, besides just projecting my neurodivergencies onto him.)

I suppose that, even at this time, Joris was meant to be a store owner:

The gameplay loop involves going from boutique, to missions, and so on, while those two pieces of concept art involve the said boutique section, and show a female character saying «Pas mal, boss !».

In my opinion, it might be this character. Proto-Simone, perhaps?

Since the store seems to be the centerpiece, and the Grow-style minigames involved collectibles, I would assume that the plot involved Joris going around and finding artifacts for the store. That would also explain the concept art gifs of him adventuring.

(Though, the adventuring would probably just be the inciting incident/a vehicle for plot development. Nintendo DS games loved using the jobs characters did for that purpose.)

This is the extent of what I can surmise about the plot.

The developer portfolios also included these example documents, but the image quality is too bad for me to make sense of or upscale. I am including them here solely for some French people who are very good at reading blurry text. (If you learn anything, let me know, okay?)

Overall, my verdict is that this game's cancellation was both a blessing (Joris without Kerubim and Atcham is like tea without water and a cup. How am I meant to drink leaves? Are you stupid? Why are you giving me leaves with nothing?) and a curse (THEY CANCELLED A GAME ABOUT MY BLUE-COLORED YOINKY SPLOINKY (who has a THIN, GRABBABLE WAIST)????? FUCK!)

JJK Fic Plagiarism

An itafushi fic on ao3 called And They Were Roommates by picassoscat is plagiarising my own fic The Long Con. With every new chapter they update, they steal more scenes from my work. Please read and share this to spread the word!

In August, multiple strangers messaged me out of the blue to tell me TLC was being copied. Initially I figured someone had simply been inspired by the tropes I used. But when I read ATWR for myself, it wasn’t just the same premise — it was straight up theft of my prose.

Picassoscat steals 2-3 of my scenes per chapter of their fic on average, interspersed with some alternating POVS and superficial aesthetic changes to my plot. They’ve even copied my authors notes to try and pass off my story decisions/headcanons as their original research.

When I first discovered ATWR, it had 4 chapters. A month later, it now has 7 chapters, and the vast majority of paragraphs in them are still lifted directly from my fic. I’ve left comments alerting readers to this fact — those comments were instantly deleted by the author.

I’ve since been blocked, and logged out accounts can no longer leave comments. So clearly they know what they’re doing and they’re trying to stop their readers from finding out.

Nobody should get support or praise for stealing from other writers.

I genuinely don’t have the words to describe the pain and heartache I’ve been through this month. It is extremely upsetting, and personally distressing, to watch someone claim my hard work and take credit for a fic that is so deeply meaningful to me.

Picassoscat has already bookmarked several other popular itfs works, and I don’t want them to repeat this with any other jjk writer. They didn’t stop when I spoke up alone, and I doubt they’d stop for other authors either if they get enough “success” from stealing mine.

I’ve already filed a report with ao3, so there’s no need to for other people to do the same. I also don’t want anyone to contact the author — moderators will take care of that in due time. But I’d be grateful if you could help me spread awareness about what’s going on. It can take months for an abuse report on ao3 to be processed. I can’t stay silent that long while picassoscat continues to upload my chapters every other week, and readers who don’t know better keep rewarding them with comments and kudos.

Please share this thread so that the jjk fic community is aware of what’s happening. Bookmark ATWR with a note that it isn’t original work, to inform anyone who checks its bookmarks/visits your ao3 (be civil about it though, harassing the author won’t help).

Furthermore, if you know anyone who is reading And They Were Roommates or you see anyone post about it, please link them back to this thread, or to my fic The Long Con.

For obvious reasons, I won’t update The long Con or any of my other fics again until this situation is resolved.

Night Shift - A SAYER fanfiction (Dr. Brady/Dr. Young)

So in my SAYER headcanon post I included a few doodles as a little extra and I may have played with one of the ideas a bit too much and ended up writing a short oneshot fanfiction teehee.

Thought I'd upload it here because I'm way too silly (stupid) for AO3 and I may have some more relevant reach here,, soo if you want to read some toxic office yaoi (/j), i got you!

A few extra things i'd mention is that it's completely sfw and about 4 pages long, so it's a pretty light read. If there are still any grammatical/spelling errors, I apologise. Okie have fun <3

„2:34 AM…” Hummed Dr. for the last few days due to the stress he put himself under during the development of FUTURE. He felt bitter, knowing that from all of the wishes and goals Young with a tired grogginess in his voice as he looked at the time and rubbed his eyes. He had trouble sleeping he had, only the name he came up with and the development of Halcyon Minor ended up being used in the project. Yet he bit his tongue and repressed his thoughts of injustice for the sake of peace and prodictivity, but all that got him was tossing and turning for longer and longer each day and needless to say, he was growing tired of it.

He sighed, pressed his hands against his knees and stood up; might as well do something useful with all this time and catch up on some ’homework’ to perhaps get one step ahead than the majority. Surely that would earn him some recognition. He stepped out of his room and quietly but with a clear goal in mind, approached one of the elevators. Convincing PORTER to take you somewhere else than where you should be is no hard task once you get comfortable with its chatty nature; so all Dr. Young did was tell it that it’s a secret little adventure between the two of them. He’s not the kind to be all buddy-buddy with AIs, however when both of them are stubborn about their tasks and goals, he’s still the more flexible one in the end, so he had to come up with a little ’white lie’ as he thought of it.

Stepping out of the elevator on floor 13, a shiver ran down his spine. It was an eerie yet pleasant feeling to stand in the lab all alone with everything at his disposal. Well, everything he had personal access to anyway. He turned the lights on through the control panel of the room and covered his eyes at the sudden brightness, letting out a painful groan. He took a stroll around the lab, getting used to the lights again and then plopped into his chair at his desk, leaning back and spun around with it once, before booting up his computer. He logged in and skimmed through the files, wondering where he should start. He could either continue yesterday’s project with the risk of his little misadventure being found out, look at FUTURE’s current status in Halcyon Minor or read through the developer’s logs for a bit of a recap, however that sounded half as interesting as the other options.

Dr. Young propped his head up with his elbow on the table, inhaling deeply before quietly mumbling to himself, „Sounds boring but it might give me some inspiration… or just.. try and see what they eat up in Dr. Brady being team lead so much… makes no fucking sense.” He sighed in annoyance as he opened one of the many developer’s logs and put some music on to soothe himself. It actually didn’t take him long to get interested in what he was reading as his eyes grew wide at seeing his name on the screen.

„Huh? Dr. Young continues to shine. He even made a passing attempt to conceal his disappointment at not being named lead developer on this project, which for Howard, is pro- Man, screw you!” He frowned but he couldn’t stop reading, much to his luck as his opinion quickly softened as he finished this paragraph. His eyebrows were still furrowed, eyeing the monitor with suspicion, however a slight annoyed smile curved at the corner of his mouth, „He called Dr. Caulfield an asshole and he called me shining. Now what is that supposed to mean…? I wonder if he read the logs as well though… eh, it’s not like we’ll ever really know, but it’d be amusing to see his face.” He sat in silence for a while, staring at his desk not entirely understanding these mixed emotions he’s experiencing.

After that he quickly closed the log he’s been reading and switched to another one, finally being able to skim through the important details without any distractions, until he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He yelped and shuddered violently, resulting his headphones to fall off of his head, „JESUS! WHO THE” He turned around with fear and defensive agression in his eyes, as if he was a teen being caught in the middle of googling something strange, but instead of anything he could’ve expected it was Dr. Brady with a soft yet bewildered expression on his face, with a cup of coffee in hand.

„Howard, what are you doing here at 3 in the morning?” Asked Dr. Brady in a slightly hushed, inquiring tone.

Dr. Young turned to the other man completely with his hand still on his chest, „What are you doing here? A- And how did you get that?” He pointed at the coffee, trying to pathetically change the subject.

Brady crossed his arms, „I’m pretty positive I asked you first.”

Young looked away, flushed at having to explain himself, „Fine… I couldn’t sleep so I thought I’d do something productive instead.” He frowned.

„Without supervision?” Brady raised a brow.

Young raised his hands defensively, „Listen I didn’t even get to actually doing anything, I was just reading the developer’s logs, I don’t need your babysitting for that.”

Brady rolled a chair next to him and sat down, „That doesn’t change your situation by much but I can’t sleep either so let’s humor the idea.”

„Well duh, I absolutely can’t fathom how you’re unable to sleep with coffee in hand.”

„Oh yeah, that. Came up with a pretty decent excuse as to why I need to be here and just asked for a cup… In reality I just had a gut feeling and well, here you are.” He took a sip of his coffee and scooted closer to Young, fixed his glasses and looked at the computer screen, „And did you find anything interesting?”

Young stared at the screen as well, idly scrolling the opened log up and down, „I just don’t understand. Why say those things about me? Why me specifically? I mean…”

„What? Oh… that. Listen, I know you’re unhappy about the way things are going here but I’m not your enemy. Your ambition and expertise is just what I need to keep things flowing, sure you’re argumentative and-” Young opened his mouth to argue back but he couldn’t say a single word before Brady pressed his finger against his mouth, „Howard, shut up for a second and listen to me. I just want to say that putting all of these negative feelings aside, which I mostly understand by the way, you’re an essential part of this team and you’ll have to deal with these emotions somehow as it wasn’t in your control, nor mine. But we have to adapt and make the most of it, the future needs us and it definitely needs you.” He finger gunned to try and lighten up the mood a little.

Dr. Young was baffled by this and had a rather complex expression on his face which included annoyance, sadness and embarrassment but it could be read from his eyes that he’s still trying to process all of these thoughts. It would be so much easier if Dr. Brady wasn’t this friendly. If he wasn’t trying to be understanding. Sure that’s not a team leader’s best quality, but It’d be so much easier for Young’s fragile ego and ruffled feelings. So he did what he deemed was best for hiding these weak points,

„That was so cheesy, I think I puked in my mouth a little.” Dumbass.

Dr. Brady blinked a few times, not sure how to react. Both of them are adult men, right? „That’s… a very mature reaction of you, but I guess you are right, it was kinda cheesy.” He chuckled awkwardly, looking slightly disappointed.

Dr. Young raised his eyebrows and looked away with a frown on his face, things didn’t quite land as he wanted, huh. Or did he even know what he wanted in the first place? „…Thank you. I meant thank you… it’s just ughhh…!” He buried his face in his hands, trying to regain his composure. Dr. Brady’s expression softened and put a hand on Dr. Young’s back, rubbing it gently.

„Do you want to talk about something else? I mean come on it’s the dead of night, screw work for once.” But Dr. Young didn’t reply anything intelligable, just let out a worn out groan. Dr. Brady took that as a reluctant ’yes’ and pat the other’s back, „Come on!” He said in a quick and firm, yet kind voice. Dr. Young looked up with a pained „Huh?” and was quickly surprised by staring right at Dr. Brady’s open arms, „Come on, I’m not gonna offer it twice, I can see that you need it.” Dr. Young flushed at the offer, his eyes darting from Dr. Brady’s face to his body and vica versa. Throughout his years of working for Ærolith Dynamics he completely got used to most genuine physical affection to be nearly non-existent, so he hesitated. He hesitated but after a few seconds his body moved on its own, scooting closer and leaning into the hug, quick and strong, causing Dr. Brady’s chair scoot back a little bit, „Woah- woah… hey, It’s okay.” He caressed Young’s back in a circular motion, „You can… stay as long as you need, take your time.” They sat quietly like this for a while before Dr. Young broke the silence,

„I miss Earth sometimes…”

„Hm? How so?”

„You don’t?”

Brady rubbed his chin with his free hand, „I mean I suppose I do sometimes, I’m just curious.”

„I mean, I get everything I need here and I have a very decent job, but wants are a whole different topic. I miss the breeze on my skin, choosing my own wardrobe, sleeping in just because I can… I miss the food…” As he said that, his stomach audibly growled, causing him to shudder and shrink into himself as much as possible out of embarrassment.

Dr. Brady pat the other’s back and and exhaled through his nose, smiling a little, trying to comfort him, „Hungry?”

Young relaxed and nodded, „I mean it’s so late, are you not?”

„Hmm the coffee leaves me good to go until the morning, sorry I can’t help you though.”

Young shook his head and sighed, „Nevermind. Actually it’s kind of a strange experience. I mean based on our schedules, SAYER would pretty much never let this happen. I totally get it why but it feels kind of rebellious now that I think about it. It will be so pissed in the morning.” He flashed a cheeky smile.

„Are you sure you’re not just trying to cope right now?” He teased, „But most likely yeah, I’m sure SAYER already knows about us, but it wouldn’t make much sense to interfere by now.”

„How fucked are we then?”

Dr. Brady hummed, „Most likely not fired but enough to just rather not think about it right now.”

„What if the others find us like this?”

„Well… do you want to leave?”

„…No.”

„Then we’ll just have to figure it out in the morning.”

Honestly, thank you for calling out misinformation and how it actually does affect people in the fandom.

At first I found it mildly amusing and didn't think much of it aside from being slightly embarrassed that I'd believed some of it. What really disconcerted me were the "facts" that were so out there they essentially equated to "don't believe your lying eyes." And even now I feel bad for saying that because I can't always know if someone's acting in bad faith or if that's what they genuinely believe.

(Then there are things like that bit on the wiki that says Leon met Chris at a TerraSave event with a citation that doesn't mention said event in any way. I remember thinking "surely not" and reading the file about seven times before confirming that yes, somebody really did that.)

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I actually decided to leave Tumblr completely for a couple weeks just because it was genuinely getting to me and I needed to take a step back from the fandom to introspect and collect myself. I came to the conclusion that because I'd already been embarrassed by trusting what I thought were my fandom elders and the sheer amount of non-canon info being falsely circulated as canon, I was constantly on guard and conflicted. In any other fandom, upon seeing a take that went completely against my own, I would just keep scrolling and probably never think about it again, but with RE it was actually bothering me and making me question my own perception of the media as well as people's intentions. I don't like to assume that people are acting in bad faith (at least in this context, as opposed to just misunderstanding or having a different opinion), and that was causing turmoil in me until I took stock of my own emotions regarding the fandom as a whole.

Not that I was losing sleep over it or anything (I'm not super active or immersed in tumblr so it wasn't a big deal to log off for a while), but it definitely did suck a lot of enjoyment out of the experience for me and made me far more reluctant to engage with other fans.

Sorry that was so long and not really a question, but I just wanted to give my testimony that yes, these things do impact fandom experience in multiple ways.

Unfortunately, I think it's a combination of both things at play here, which is what makes it so insidious and difficult to uproot. There are people who genuinely believe that everything that was ever said in any piece of media by anyone who ever even tangentially worked on Resident Evil should be taken as hard canon fact (the Project Umbrella guys, I think, do legitimately feel this way).

There are also opportunists in this fandom who don't necessarily believe that every little thing is canon, but they've been holding some of those specific details as their personal headcanon for years (shoutout to the guy who told me "I know that Capcom has given Leon several different backstories over the years; I just like the mafia one the most.") and springboarded off of the true believers' narrative to help reinforce their own.

People in both categories are the kind of personality types to get hyper-invested in being the first to get the information out to a new audience and to laser focus on making sure that these details are reinforced every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. And since people who are new to fandoms are eager to suck up any obscure, fun trivia they can get their hands on, those new people flock to bad actors like this in droves.

By the time my old, tired ass gets around to hearing about any of it, the message has been spread so widely and been reinforced so many dozens (hundreds?) of times that new fans already have a concrete, cemented viewpoint on what the canon is/says, and they have no desire to hear someone try to tell them otherwise. After all, this is what literally everyone else is saying, so why should they listen to the one guy in the back going full oldmanyellsatcloud.jpeg? To them, I'm basically that crazy guy on the street corner screaming about how the Illuminati has been controlling the government and lying to you and we're all living in the Matrix and also Jesus is coming.

But the reality is that I'm Belle trying to convince the angry mob that the Beast isn't dangerous. It's an effort too little, and I got to them too late.

I'm really happy and grateful that my presence in fandom has helped even one person feel better about the bullshit that they've been peddled, but at the same time, it's really disheartening to see my posts max out at around 130 notes, when bad information and shoddy story analysis easily hits 300+ and sometimes even into the thousands. People just keep the cycle of misinformation going, like the shittiest Ouroboros this side of Albert Wesker's corpse.

(BREAKS DOWN DOOR) OKAY here is everything I have figured out for the Power Rangers analogue series while spoiling as little as possible

It will be called “I Do Not Belong.” The story will mainly revolve around Tommy and my headcanon that he was never human to begin with.

It’ll definitely have it’s scary moments, but it’ll have some goofy moments as well. A lot of the scenes will be mostly the characters talking. I’m hesitant to call it an analogue horror series, so until I get the story nailed down, it’ll just be called an analogue series. Just know that analogue horror is the goal.

I’ve got the teaser and the first three parts figured out, along with the script for the first. The story could go about six different directions after that, thought of a bunch of different miscellaneous scenes that take place after the third part.

It will have animated scenes like The Walten Files and text/audio log moments like The Man In The Suit. Which was the reason for me getting this idea, the story will be loosely based off of that. :)

I will, definitely need some help when it comes to voicing the characters. That may only happen once I get the entire story figured out, and I know which characters are gonna be in the entire thing.

It will be relatively short, only about five or six episodes with some extra hidden goodies here and there. (Mainly for the sake of my sanity let’s be real)

Not gonna think about casting voice roles just yet, for now I need to focus on practicing drawing the characters and writing down as much as I can.

Lastly, if this ends up being way too big of a project for me to take on, I’ll just turn it into a fanfiction instead.

There was something off with Con'

Always around, always online, until they weren't. They were either ever present or never to be found, rarely in between.

If you asked- if you sent them a message asking if they wanted to log on to hang out, sometimes, often- they would reply about being busy, having projects, or something. And it was fine, it made sense, until they just. stopped explaining.

"Sorry I can't log on."

"Sorry, I'm a little busy right now."

"Sorry, the lights are out tonight and I want to go see them."

It was always that last one that was always the strangest. The lights? The stars? They were happening on this world too- oh. Not the same?

Once, somebody caught a glimpse of them simply... standing there. looking up.

Really, the astronaut helmet should have tipped somebody off.

They stood oh so still, the player wondered if they were an armor stand illusion.

And then the player noticed.

Their elytra, the shape it took, was no longer that of the gold flecked corvid they usually mimicked, or the vex they appeared to be when they were being mischevious.

They barely noticed the shape, the lack thereof.

An ever shifting fractal, almost. Stars, shifting, twinkling, stared back from the points that outlined the wings. The thin almost skeletal lines, that blinked in when they noticed- noticed the shape of the stars, outlining the constellation they formed. The shifting mist of black and blue and purple and teal turned. Con had turned to look at them. The light didn't reflect off the glass of their helmet anymore. They cocked their head, looking up again before back to the player.

Constellation turned around, wings back to the gold flecked raven wings and waved. The light bounced off their helmet again, allowing the player to see their own startled reflection.

They fled. No questions asked, no answers given. Did Constellation ever tell any of them what they were? Was it ever mentioned, held in their player file?

They didn't ask- scared to know, perhaps.

some of my simmosa headcanons:

amy does the aster flores thing where she has a look for whenever she wants to be kissed.

jonah has letterboxd. he also runs an account for amy (named “my girlfriend amy” which appropriately gets changed to “my wife amy” once they get married) that blows up because she has funny things to say about films but no patience to document them. meanwhile his account has the patron tier, over a thousand films logged, and cleverly articulated reviews with meticulous ratings but only 9 followers.

amy wore the ring that jonah stole to get her measurements a lot while she was in california. mostly as a reminder of the mistake she’ll inevitably understand that she made but also because it’s strangely comfortable to have on.

jonah started a podcast right after the breakup. he stopped recording episodes after accidentally letting marcus move in with him and i’ve got no idea what it would be about but i think he would set up the stupidly costly mic that he bought online in front of amy’s plants and pretend they were his audience.

amy gets super into video games again over the pandemic. in between binge watching shows and attending corporate meetings, she becomes a real acnh woman, much to the dismay of emma. when she and jonah get back together, she forces him to play lovers in a dangerous spacetime. they kill it at that game in spite of whatever argument might ensue.

a list of some shows i think jonah has watched: succession, severance, the west wing, the wire, lost, black mirror, charmed.

the recall room stayed even after they converted cloud 9 into a fulfillment center since no one else knew about it, so amy and jonah still sneak in there sometimes for the fun of it. when they visit dina and the others for the first time, they disappear after ten minutes and everybody thinks they either got lost or crushed by some packages. (let’s be honest, they’re having another town hall moment.)

couples costumes they would do: elizabeth and philip jennings, climate change (she’s a polar bear and he’s a melting ice cap), romeo and juliet (specifically from the baz luhrmann movie obviously, though this is based off an original script of the pilot that has a nod to the fish tank scene, even though it was actually between jonah and dina but that is not important.)

so they’ve both always absolutely been bi to me. it’s an unspoken thing at work for jonah, so amy is the first person he actually tells, voices aloud that this is who he is a person, and that’s what she’s signing up for when they finally start dating. and it gets gears turning in her head. this is a lot of projection on my end but i think amy looks back at the women she filed away as formative role models in her head and wonders whether there was something more there. remembers how she always thought someone like missy jones looked so gorgeous but thought that had more to do with being blinded by her talent. jonah helps amy figure out her feelings for women once he finds out she thought staring at them all the time was a normal thing to do.

they have the same taste in people. i have a whole episode made up in my mind about them figuring this out and the discovery spiraling to the point that they have everybody in the break room naming truly anyone to see if they both have a crush on the person or not. they have multiple whiteboards with the most complicated system ranking countless celebrities and the whole thing ends when jonah asks amy if she actually finds him attractive but she successfully avoids giving him an answer by making out with him. she does btw but she would never tell him because it would go to his head immediately and he would never let her live it down.

amy wearing name tags with different names every single day is her way of playing around with gender but nobody is ready for that conversation yet.

Shadow's Main Verse Lore

Okay so my blurb for this verse on the page is:

This is the main verse that will be for Shadow. It follows game canon and comics and then diverges following the Metal Virus Arc. Shadow retains the personality that he had in the Sonic 06 Game and previous ones, which is more fleshed out and less leaning into turning him into an edgy rival of Sonic. In this verse, things proceeded through the plot of 06 and the memories and the idea of that timeline was erased and severed, however it was not a complete action, as Shadow often gets senses of Deja vu and vague feelings about certain people and events that happen that echo back to that erased timeline.

But let's delve more into this actually!!

To start with: I keep his 06 personality bc that's (one of) the areas of the game where he is the calmest and most sure of himself. And while the events of that timeline regarding Mephiles, Iblis, Soleanna, and all of that don't happen anymore (bc Solaris got blown out like a birthday candle on a cake), I don't think, necessarily, that Shadow's personality would end up keeping the more edgy theme that most of the canon seems to be flattening him out to. As a result, I have him keep a lot of his 06 development and surety in who he is as a person/hedgehog and his purpose and all of that and as a result he's generally a lot calmer. He does tend to dabble in being a person who takes on missions from G.U.N. from time to time, but he isn't directly affiliated with them, even if they insisted on having his file in their database still label him as an agent. Granted, to some degree his resentment of humanity and what it's done in the past to him is still there, but it's very muted, and he's moved on quite a bit from it after the events of his game in 05, where he had amnesia on top of trying to figure himself out properly. Rolling backwards slight, I go with the idea of one of the (many) routes where Amy is the one who pulls him over to the Hero side, as I imagine that Shadow in his game, specifically, had a lot of resentment still bubbling even with his amnesia due to the general reprogramming from Gerald due to the way he had the "soul" of Maria and then later in that game, Amy reminding him of Maria even further than she did in Sonic Adventure 2. During Unleashed, Shadow is a part of a mission on the other end of the various areas of the world helping to keeping members of the population safe from the dark gaia creatures, though he was not as conservative as the deactivated chaos emeralds (the black chaos emeralds), meant also that a lot of the chaos energy outside of his own that's latently in his own body was minimal and was similar in consistently to those of the fake chaos emeralds. His next appearance is in Shadow Generations, where he - essentially - relives all of his trauma after thinking he was over all of it. Following into Sonic Forces, Shadow after encountering Mephiles, begins having dreams of the original 06 timeline that are extremely vivid, during these events that lead up to Sonic being taken out of the picture for months prompts him to generally attempt to get closer to Omega and Rouge, bringing Team Dark to a similar but not exact same dynamic that he'd been seeing within those vivid dreams. The beginning of the IDW comics leads into the first arc with metal sonic, which happens just about the same as it does in canon, though I imagine he figured out that the troops weren't being led by the actual Eggman and in fact had also been attempting to track down where Infinite had gone off to, in order to make sure that he didn't still have that specific Ruby. Also, as I don't think - personally - that the team was actually killed in this so much as simply run off from the Eggman base by showing them that it was not worth whatever Eggman was paying them to keep defending the base. So he's attempting to find Infinite as he's also located the other mercenaries of the Jackal Squad so he can actually put them back together and show that they're fine and let them figure it out the rest of the way now that Infinite is no longer a threat. He then is asked to help with things regarding Angel Island and all of that happens. Then of course, they discover Mr. Tinker, who is an amnesiac Eggman, and Shadow goes after him in order to attempt to get him locked up and under surveillance so that he can actually keep him from reverting and still have him pay his due penance for what happened. and then, of course, the Metal Virus Saga happened, which I've discussed already.

Overall, I imagine, as a sort of thing that happened, including in Generations, that a shard of Mephiles, specifically later from the Time Eater section of things, remained in Shadow as a sort of nod to the fact that Mephiles initially took his form from his shade. Which made the erasure semi-incomplete for Shadow specifically, which caused the dreams later after exiting the White Space. And him retaining 06 aspects of his personality and development as well as from the rest of the Adventure Era development also means as a result he's much calmer and more introspective than angry and edgy than he is in the source canon.

Ohoho, of course I do! I do have the new gems’ Backstories, but since you asked about the Diamond AU specifically... UwU

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Cubic Zirconia (Undergloom Sans) emerges alone, in an abandoned Kindergarten galaxies upon galaxies away from Homeworld’s (known) reaches. He doesn’t stay alone for very long, and not too much later, Moissanite (Undergloom Papyrus) emerges too--another gem.

...Not that they...know too much beyond the fact that they’re both gems. They certainly have no idea that they’re both products of diamond replication experiments at this outpost, commissioned by the (recently ceased) Void Diamond and forgotten when The War began and other priorities became more important.

But! They have each other, so even if their origin is shrouded in mystery and there’s nobody else here on this dusty, deserted rock of a planet, they both decide things could be worse.

They go about their lives for awhile, poking around in things, bonding with each other, making guesses about their species and civilization from their bare-bones programming and the artifacts of the Kindergarten.

It passes the time.

And then, one day, the seismic activity starts.

The two of them have no idea what’s happening or what to do about it; if there’s anything to do about it, and it’s a stressful few cycles before they get any solid answers.

Raw Diamond (Horrorfell Sans), clawing himself up through the ground from the deepest, darkest caverns of the planet, is about as ‘solid’ as an answer gets.

Cubic and Moissanite shouldn’t know the newcomer at all, yet they find themselves automatically saluting, calling him ‘My Diamond,’ and Raw...

Raw is just as confused as they are.

He doesn’t know what’s going on either, where they are, what he is, who he is… he simply is.

He couldn’t know that he’s a forgotten project of Void Diamond’s, too, a new diamond meant to join the ranks with him and Brown and Gray as their empire expanded and needed more leadership. He was simply left in the ground to incubate without being refined or even cut.

(He's monstrous, huge even for a Diamond, and oddly formed with a crooked jaw that won’t open and a hole in his skull…but Cubic and Moissanite hardly know any better than he does what he’s supposed to look like, so no one makes any mention of it.)

Freshly emerged and very lost, it goes without saying that Raw wants answers. The Imitation brothers have a few, but nowhere near as many as he’s after, and he stubbornly demands to be shown around the Kindergarten and the outpost, to see it for himself.

And it all lights up for him in a way it never did for the two that came first, doors and sensors and screens coming to life, responding to the signature of a true diamond. There’s brand new access to everything, reports, records, files and procedures… they learn a lot about what they are, what they’re supposed to be and what they’re not.

They also learn how true diamonds are made, in full and not just halfway.

Raw is certain this is the answer. Cubic and Moissanite are the first of their kind, they barely have any programming, but a diamond…a diamond done right and not left unfinished like he was, surely they would know more and be able to make sense of…whatever it is they’re not getting.

The brothers aren’t totally convinced... but admittedly, they don’t have any better ideas and well…rough he may be, but Raw is a diamond…

Champagne Diamond (Horrorfell Papyrus) unfolds himself gracefully from a craggy cliffside on the abandoned planet, massive in size but otherwise perfect—and he does have some answers.

Champagne knows he is a Diamond and he knows of gemkind. He knows of their society and of their directive to expand their empire.

…What he doesn’t know is the answer to Cubic’s well-meaning query of ‘...what empire?’

Champagne has no clue where the hell all the other gems are, where this little rock is in relation to the Empire, if the Empire even still exists if this place has been abandoned as long as all the charts and data logs say it has been.

He wants answers as much as Raw does, possibly even moreso…but to even start looking for them, they have to get the hell off this planet.

As it turns out, what he lacks in inherent knowledge of their status and origin and social structures, Raw has a real knack for gem-tech, understanding the principles and functions of even the old and mostly broken down devices they have access to, enough to design a passable space-faring craft that they all pitch in to build.

The first world the quartet comes across is empty now, but was once uniquely occupied by both gems and by organics. There’s a handful of gem structures, Kindergartens, bases, et cetera--long abandoned and in disarray of course, but hiding lots of new data and potential clues to mine about what happened to gemkind, and more importantly, where the fuck Homeworld is...

(Like the lost city of Punt, it seems that nobody ever thought to store something as obvious as Homeworld’s coordinates anywhere in the days before warp pads--why bother? Everyone knew where it was.)

There’s a lot to repair and sift through, a whole planet’s worth of it, and there’s only four of them, so it’s probably going to take awhile…

So when Raw finds some old notes that this planet would be a good candidate to incubate a diamond if not for all the useful organic life on it, he nudges Champagne and jokes that all the organic life is gone now, maybe they should…?

To Raw’s surprise, however, Champagne is intrigued.

It could be something worth thinking about, actually… Another pair of hands, another set of eye-sockets… a diamond would be a costly investment, both time and resource-wise, but certainly more bang for the buck than a mess of soldiers or technicians that they really don’t need…

Plus, it’s something to do while they scour the whole damn globe for everything of use on it.

So... might as well try it.

A nice chunk of forest is summarily leveled by Cloudy Diamond (Horrorswapfell Sans) when he decides he’s good and ready to emerge—and while he’s certainly an extra pair of hands for the group, the eye-sockets…didn’t really work out the way they’d thought.

Cloudy, it turns out, is blind as a bat, a defective diamond—but still a diamond, able to interface with and access everything the other two diamonds can, if guided to it.

He sticks with Cubic and Moissanite, mostly, a quid pro quo sort of arrangement that works for everyone, at least until everything of use and worth is mined out of the artifacts of the planet, and it’s time to move on to the next lead: what seems to have been a military base on an almost entirely aquatic world.

Cloudy isn’t interested in visiting a water-world, not for a long-term stay like they’re talking about. He prefers solid ground beneath his feet at least most of the time...and he actually has very little investment in their Quest for Homeworld, so he decides that he’ll stay here.

The others question if he’s sure, and even offer to leave at least Moissanite with him to help him around, but he refuses. Aside from not feeling altogether right about splitting Moissanite and Cubic, Cloudy has his pride and he’ll manage just fine. He is a diamond, after all!

And so off the others go to the military installation.

Raw has a great time digging around in all the decaying ships and weaponry, Cubic and Moissanite explore the things left behind by the gems that were once upon a time stationed there, and Champagne researches.

Cloudy’s defect...weighs on him, though...

(Possibly because they kind of…created the poor guy, imperfect, and then left him there, which sucks… but Champagne is a diamond and doesn’t have half the emotional intelligence to realize the injustice of that is what’s bugging him.)

He somehow decides that it’s the defect itself that’s bothering him, that he failed to create a 100% functional diamond. But he didn’t fail, he could do it, if he tried again…which he’s not going to do, just to prove a point, to himself even and not anybody else!

………

That’s exactly what he does.

Pink Diamond (Horrorswap Sans) rises from the sea one day, kicking up a tsunami in his wake, much to the surprise of the others who were definitely not kept in the loop on this matter.

Champagne, for his part, is unapologetic and unashamed: Pink is a total success, strong and complete and perfectly formed (aside from, perhaps, the occasional, very minor glitching of his physical body... but that can surely be put down to all that water he was incubated beneath, smoothing his intended rose-cut over time into something more like a cabochon. That’s nothing to do with him...)

Pink, for his part, is happy to help and join the search for answers.

He dives right into it all without complaint…until…

Well...

Seeing Cubic and Moissanite, and Raw and Champagne…they get along so well, and his recent arrival hasn’t opened up any space for him in their dynamics.

He’s very pointedly the odd man out, and it’s enough to make a diamond quite lonely,  quite aware that he’s the only gem here without a brother to call his own.

………

Taking a page from Champagne’s book, telling absolutely no one, Pink sets out to squeeze one more diamond out of this big ball of water, even though the planet’s resources are low after his emergence.

It’s not long before Olive Diamond (Horrorswap Papyrus) is slogging out of a dark, wet swamp, assisted by his brother—which is appreciated, because he seems to have a hard time keeping his legs to retain the ‘hard’ part of ‘hard light projection.’ Sometimes they’re solid light and sometimes they’re only light and maybe that’s what happens when you try to make a gem from a planet that’s running on empty...

Pink is delighted by his new sibling all the same!

Even so, a rule is made amongst the gems after that and agreed to by all: nobody makes anymore gems without telling somebody, no more surprises!

………

In retrospect, they probably should’ve decided on that rule a lot sooner, maybe a planet ago.

By the time they all return to the ghost world with a stockpile of newer tech and ships, they find Cloudy in the middle of a fully-operational and tidied up base, with everything rigged to accept voice commands and read out text, and a brand new shadow hovering around him.

Pepper Diamond (Horrorswapfell Papyrus) emerged from the ruins of one of the abandoned cities, Cloudy explains, and has been very helpful in the others’ absence, wonderful company—he told them he’d manage fine. > 3c

Well.

After all of that, the military base had been their last, best clue to finding Homeworld, or at least the remains of it, if gemkind were truly gone…

After a bit of discussion among the group, they decide to take communicators and ships and anything else they wanted/needed and just…go their separate ways, to do their own things.

Cubic and Moissanite set up shop on the first world they can find with sentient organics that will accept them, wanting to be around other people and to live peacefully.

Raw and Champagne choose to stick to their mission, going on the wild goose chase that is the search for other gems somewhere in the universe, even without any solid leads—the gem empire was expansive, but not As Infinite As the Universe-expansive, so they haven’t had any luck yet.

Pink and Olive are curious about other gems, too, but make it their mission to hunt down all the deserted bases, Kindergartens, and outposts in their neck of the universe and fix them up, restoring everything to its former glory as best they can—whether those places are promising in terms of leads/clues or not. It’s their heritage and they want to explore it and restore it, if they’re able.

Cloudy and Pepper intend to stay put on their birth world…but when Cloudy’s done everything he can on their planet, he gets a little bored sifting through the ruins of this dead world and wants to go find somewhere with living organics to stay instead. Pepper (reluctantly) agrees and they stumble upon a fledgling, primitive society that seems to think of these giant, shining and glowing immortals as some sort of deities… Oops, it seems as if they’ve started a colony of sorts on accident!

They’ll all keep on keeping on, and if anything interesting happens or someone needs a hand, they can reach the others to get back in touch.

…

Unbeknownst to the Outer Galaxy diamonds or the Diamond Authority back on Homeworld, a strange pair of Chameleon Diamonds—one Reverse (Gastertale Sans) and one Classic (Gastertale Papyrus)—are spat out of a singularity, somewhere in a galaxy in between.

They’ve got a lot of knowledge between the two of them, in the skulls behind their briolette-cut gems, but not a single solid memory, and their only clue is a whole lot of wreckage of some strange machine scattered around them in space.

They don’t know what they are, where they came from, how they’re alive, or what all this junk is…but once they make their way to a planet with gravity and stuff they can fashion tools and parts out of, they do figure out that they can cobble together a ship out of all this...

Hello, since disney gave us nothing on her, here is a Liv Amara theory/headcanon dump (apologies in advance for how long this got):

First, I do honestly stand by my theory that the Liv we saw in season one was actually Liv and not Di (I have no idea if she’s been confirmed either way).  This is because Liv, while a bit dismissive and maybe a bit high and mighty in a way, has a much different demeanour than Di does in season two, and by that I mean she feels much less fake than Di does.  S1 Liv shows genuine interest in Karmi’s work and in SFIT, while Di in s2 only is interested in anything SFIT related as a means to an end and even then the interest she showed and the praises she gave always came off super fake.

But then why would Di hire Karmi?  Di would have had access to Liv’s files and considering that she funded Karmi’s project, it was likely she was keeping up to date with it.  We also know that Karmi told Liv that if she had to pick one topic it would be pathogenic bacteria, which is probably as close to the parasynths as any topic is going to get.  It makes a lot of sense to hire Karmi, if any one person could crack it, it’s her which, as we know, she does in the end.

Okay, but what about Orso Knox?  Well, we know that Liv was working on an immortality project, what if that was what drew him to invest in Sycorax?  What if he invested in that project because he wanted to be a recipient of it?  We know the parasynths were an outcome of this project, but what if it wasn’t the first output?  We know Liv was forced to test the parasynths on herself but maybe Orso had agreed to be the test subject for the first attempt and it caused him to mutate.  That certainly would leave Liv as the best person to help him.  It would also explain why Di seemed unable to change him back until Karmi stepped in, if it wasn’t her work she wouldn’t have known what had happened to him and obviously she wasn’t getting any money from him until she changed him back so it wasn’t like she was just avoiding turning him back realistically.

Which brings us to the immortality project.  Why exactly would Liv attempt something like that?  Maybe it wasn’t so much about wanting to extend her own life or fear of death so much as it was about so no one had to go through the pain of losing a loved one.  Maybe Liv herself was so blinded by that kind of pain that she didn’t stop to think about if she should rather than just if she could.

This ties in to my theory that saving Liv from the parasynths wasn’t actually Di’s original purpose.  Logically, a clone would have likely taken months to develop, even Liv as smart as she was and with all that cutting edge tech in her possession could only do so much especially when starting with nothing but DNA, Di’s monsters at least were just mutations rather than starting from scratch.  We also know from Liv’s video logs that she went from being perfectly healthy to being on the brink of death in less than two weeks, that doesn’t exactly give her much time to even start the process of creating a clone.

So why did she create the clone?  What if it was to replace the identical twin sister she lost when she was younger, the original Diane?  There might be slight differences between identical twins but using her own DNA and programming the clone with her memories of Diane would be close enough, right?  All she wanted was her best friend back.  This was Liv’s reason for pursuing the immortality project as well, so no one else would have to feel that kind of pain.  Of course, we all know how that project turned out so Liv was forced to change Di’s programming if she wanted to have any hope that she would survive.

(Yes, none of this negates the fact that Sycorax had a crazy number of sublevels, but if you think about it that’s not a bad idea for a company that likely works with a lot of pathogenic bacteria and viruses and the such because that way if anything were to get spilled/accidentally released they could just seal it underground until it was safe so to speak, their purpose might not have always been as a monster factory)

Fun Fact #1: My boyfriends have been slowly dragging me into Megaman hell, which, aside from Tumblr’s shitty update, is the main reason for this latest roster change. X and Zero were obvious inclusions, and with me falling head first into rarepair hell, I had Axl and Iris join them

Fun Fact #2: Sav’s icon, unfortunately, is still more saturated than it should be. I even went the extra step in reuploading the icon [which is the proper saturation in my computer files], but it ultimately didn’t work. Unless I can figure out how to get it to stop saturating like this, I just give up

Fun Fact #3: The Voltron districts icon overhaul was partly due to the show recently ending after its eighth season [and yes, I fucking enjoyed it]. Keith and Pidge’s icons came from a group shot of the Paladins all grown up that was shown at the end of the last episode before the “after Voltron” blurbs. I would’ve done the same for Lance, but he was weirdly framed in that shot, so I decided to use one from his vlog, which can be seen on YouTube

Fun Fact #4: I’m actually insanely behind on YanSim updates, so I didn’t find out that the official site’s character page was updated to include a shit ton of new characters and full size artwork, including the student council. And hey, I did say if Shiromi ever got full size art, I’d update her icon, and thus I did. Her icon comes from her standalone bust shot that can be seen on that page

Fun Fact #5: Even though Megaman was replacing the SNK district, I wanted to keep Hitch around, so she replaced Lelouch in the wild card district

Fun Fact #6: Like Shiromi before her, Carmen’s inclusion was last minute. I wasn’t aware that the new show had recently dropped on Netflix, so imagine my surprise to find icons and gifs of Carmen showing up on my dashboard almost out of nowhere. I made some lighting and saturation adjustments to her icon since there’s a bright ass light shining right in her face and making it lighter than I wanted. I think I did pretty decent

Fun Fact #7: Shiro retired from the battlefield at the end of Voltron, and it was time for him to do so here. The first character that came to mind to replace him was Acxa, though she did have stiff competition from Krolia

Fun Fact #8: The Megaman characters have those surnames because reasons. Really, they’re more just headcanon surnames that have come into constant use around me and my boyfriends

Fun Fact #9: I was going to swap either Narcian or Cherche with Edelgard from Three Houses, but this idea was quickly discarded

Fun Fact #10: Iris’ official artwork would’ve looked really out of place next to the high render icons of her districtmates, so I went with fanart. I tried to search for the original artist, but had no luck. If anyone can tell me who the artist is, I highly appreciate it

Fun Fact #11: I figured the FMA district could use a fresh face, and with its own season that tbh I have yet to update I’m so sorry orz and a whole cast of characters to choose from, I went with Greed

Since getting out of classes for the semester (I got a B in Assembly Language, by the way; praise the generosity of the professor!), I have accomplished the following:

Pulled an all-nighter with my dad rescuing our file server from a sudden unexplained (and possibly temporary?) disk failure.

Made a few new GIFs (including one from Tangled, which partly inspired the project below.)

Shared 4 songs.  (I actually do that fairly often, but few notice.)

Finally spent the time to tell the (mostly) complete story of Insectoid, both my username and my icon.

Saw Solo: A Star Wars Story.  It was good!

Finished my last entry in the Frozen handwriting challenge.

Offered up a new Domestic Assassin AU headcanon.

Started catching up on Steven Universe.  (6 eps down, 8 to go.)

Remade all of the Tangled GIFs I made a few years ago; those were extracted using a different video encoder (that has poorer quality compared to what I use now), and back then I wasn’t keeping a record of the GIF metrics (source time frame, frames used, etc).  So I did all of those, plus a few extras, all with the soundtrack playing on endless loop.  Guess what song is stuck in my head now?  (And there are still more that I want to do.  If I ever get around to making a larger collection of Frozen GIFs, the same thing will probably happen. 😂)
