Do you have any headcanons for Professor Fig, including what his Boggart would be?

Random Professor Fig headcanons by me!

Professor Fig, we all love him! 

I’m pretty sure it's safe to say that he was definitely a father figure to MC in the time that they were together. 

He never had any kids himself but MC was like his kid. 

He and Mariam met in school and he most definitely fell first. Her intelligence and beauty is what drew him in. 

Mariam was aware of his feelings for her and thought it was the cutest thing ever, joking about it... until she fell in love with him too.

He is a Gryffindor. 

He's a half-blood.

He taught Magical Theory at Hogwarts.

I feel like he’s definitely the kind of guy to get to know his students really well. Always the professor you could come to if you had any problems. 

As for his line of work after school, it is said he abandoned a career at the Ministry of Magic to follow Mariam in her journeys. So I assume he was trying to get into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement or the Department of International Magical Operation. 

And from him leaving a career for Mariam, we can only assume he was a great husband. 

He’s a very caring person with a strong moral compass. 

Although I HC that he and Mariam probably snuck out a few times during their school years (lol) 

Always had a picture of Mariam on him, he’d look at it almost every single day especially after his death. 

His favorite classes when he was in school were probably Magical Theory, Defense Against the Dark Arts, or Divination. 

Although he disliked the History of Magic class due to the rambling, he really enjoys the subject in itself and is very well versed in it. 

As for his Boggart, this one’s a bit tricky. I see him as a guy who would be really close to his family and it would probably have to do with losing one of them or maybe it had to do with an experience he had as a teenager. 

And since fears change as you get older and you change, I feel like after his marriage to Mariam, his boggart would probably be losing her. 

Sucks that that one became true :(

He definitely seems like he’s the oldest sibling. Has more sisters than he does brothers. 

#1 women respecter. 

I feel like he’d get along really well with Professor Weasley and Professor Onai. All of them have some sort of child/child figure/child in their family and so they’re kinda like the Hogwarts parent trio ™

I think it’s safe to say that Professor Fig has become a parental figure to a lot of MC’s.

And Versailles is one of them, though being brought up in a harsh household meant it was a struggle for her to ever trust let alone accept the professors care.

During their decent to the repository, the professor has voiced his concern for Versailles’s head strong plan to take the power for herself, as the professor found himself worried of what it would do to his young charge, who he sees as his own.

Unfortunately in stubborn Versailles fashion she lashes out like a cornered dog, marking her last moments with the professor with her venom.

A moment she will deeply regret for the rest of her life.

Imelda: Lesbian. Straight up, no projection even needed. You can't look me dead in the eyes and tell me Imelda wouldn't be Lesbian.

Professor Fig: Straight Ally, one of the most supportive straight dads you could ever think of deadass. He would wear those "free dad hug" shirts at pride fests if they existed back then

Professor Ronen: Bisexual, He's happily married to his wife but I gotta be honest when I first saw him I thought he had to be a zest fest in some way deadass.

Professor Hecat: Bisexual, She def would lean more towards girls but that's just my vision. We love a Badass Bisexual chat believe you me.

Professor Weasley: Straight Ally, yet another most supportive person you could ever think of. She wouldn't care if you were gay, trans, bisexual. She would love you regardless, and I love her for that

Professor Garlick: Lesbian. 1000%. After that letter she wrote to Sirona and all the mentions of each other they 100% are gay and I am HERE FOR IT.

Professor Sharp: AroAce. Romance? Never heard of it. Only kind of attraction he knows is how Garreth always seems to attract some sort of trouble. I know people mainly HC him as Bi and I'm here for that but I've always seen the man AroAce, He doesn't have time for romance, he has potions to brew and over powered 5th years to keep track of. . .

Rory: Lesbian. They never understood the appeal of men anyway, #1 Man hater besides like. . . A handful they can tolerate. They love women, and only women and they are the most open person about it in the WORLD.

If I remember correctly, you can find a letter from Black addressed to the teachers. They asked for the option to have a little get-together. I don’t want to go into detail about how restrictive Black’s reply was but instead, talk about how the teachers get along and--just like students--have little gatherings; probably on the upper floors of The Three Broomsticks if Black isn’t permitting happenings within Hogwarts (which seems impossible, he cannot possibly have his eyes on them all the time, he naps every hour). 

And let me tell you, I bet it gets *wild*. 

Professor Fig can hold his drink. He, Professor Ronen and Madam Kogawa will engage in little drinking games (Ronen will fall asleep after his second butterbeer). It’s like their own personal teacher-bingo. Will Professor Onai worry about Natsai again and leave early? Will she talk about dark things to come? Bottoms up!

Professor Shah and Howin will talk about the particular importance of the night sky not only for humans but for beasts as well (especially mooncalves and their magical dances), and forget everything around them. 

Professor Binns rambles on and on about how every beam in the room has a particular history and nobody listens to him. He doesn’t seem to mind. 

Professor Hecat, Garlick and Sharp are the gossip trio. Hecat hears all kinds of things about their students and she will absolutely ‘share with the class’. Sharp will try to predict the profession students might end up in while Garlick and Hecat take bets on their student’s love life. It’s only after at least half a bottle of firewhisky that Sharp will join in with frighteningly accurate guesses.

What are your Professor Fig headcannons?

Honestly I'd not thought a whole hell of a lot about it before now, but this prompted a bit of a list from me! So enjoy 💕

Professor Fig Headcannons

Fig met Miriam just after he left Hogwarts and was enamoured with her straight away. He went out of his way to learn about her just so he could surprise her with her favourite things while they were courting.

Fig was from quite a humble background, but his parents instilled in him a love of learning from an early age, knowing that a good education would be key for him making something of himself. Fig didn’t want to go into his adult life as poor as his parents, and while he isn’t a miser, he doesn’t spend his gold excessively, preferring to wear his robes to threads before buying new ones.

That said, he’s more than happy to spend his gold on things for those he cares about, and he sent gold to his parents regularly until they passed so they could be comfortable in their old age.

Eleazar and Miriam married when they were in their early twenties in a surprisingly big ceremony. Miriam’s parents were quite wealthy, and they went all out, enamoured with the charming young man their daughter had chosen. They were married in the morning and partied until the next morning, before going on a honeymoon to the Canary Islands, where they indulged all week in sun, sea, and fade to black.

Fig adventured a lot with Miriam in their younger years and got into all sorts of hijinks – he was usually the one rushing ahead without thinking, and Miriam had to save his hide on more than one occasion.

He secretly loved getting told off by Miriam when this happened because it meant she loved him and cared about his safety.

Kids never happened for the Figs; at first they were just happy exploring the world and adventuring, always thinking ‘we’ll do it later’ and when they hit their 30s and they were still having so much fun they thought ‘just a few more years’ and it just never happened. Fig himself wasn’t overly concerned about this, but he occasionally worried that Miriam might feel bad or that she missed out. It’s part of the reason he took up a teaching position at Hogwarts, so she could be around kids whenever she visited.

He’s got a soft spot for the cats that hang around the castle and loves to give them a fuss if he’s got the time.

He built up strong connections at the Ministry over the years, and Minister Spavin has relied on him in the past much like Fudge relied on Dumbledore. However, as they aged (and it’s canon that Spavin started to go a bit do-lally in his later years) Spavin took their friendship for granted and didn’t take Fig’s concerns seriously, leading to a decline in their relationship and a tanking of Fig’s standing in the Ministry.

His favourite season is autumn because it was Miriam’s favourite season. She loved the colours, and he always feels closer to her in those months.

He never forgave himself for not being there when she died, and he treasures the last note she sent him. He puts on a brave face for the rest of the world, but when he’s alone and he’s got nothing to think about, he replays their last conversation in his mind on repeat until he falls asleep. He wears a locket with her portrait in it at all times, and looks at it when he's feeling particularly blue.

Fig has a very mischievous personality, and he’s more than willing to turn a blind eye to a lot of the mischief that students get up to, provided it’s not malicious or harmful. This has endeared him to the student body at large. He’s not above playing pranks on his fellow professors, especially Professor Black, who’s so arrogant he would never think one of his underlings would be responsible.

Despite his subject being considered boring by many, Fig has a real flair for teaching, his passion for magical theory being quite infectious. As such, his classes were very popular until Miriam passed, and he lost a bit of his enthusiasm.

Fig never lost his love of adventure, and tended to keep a cool head in situations that most would find alarming or confusing. He has a lot of curiosity about the world around him, even in his advanced years, and always wants to learn more.

After Miriam passed, Eleazar felt lost for a long time, but when the new student came to Hogwarts and he was tasked with mentoring them, he found new purpose, and eventually came to view this exceptional young person as the child he never had.

He’s always available for them, day or night, no matter what they need. He doesn’t mollycoddle them, knowing they’re perfectly capable of looking after themselves, but it doesn’t stop him worrying if he’s not heard from them in a while.

Had he lived, Eleazar would have become an additional parental figure to the MC, and his love for them would extend to their closest friends, no matter who they are.

What started out as a simple headcanon post has evolved into a full on fic snippet that I hope you all will enjoy!

So, I was thinking about how the game gives us no background for the thestral mount, Sepulchria, and how Hellendil just adores her. I head canon that she is one of the thestrals pulling the carriage during the dragon attack at the beginning of the game. She managed to survive the attack, but not without injury. Because thestrals are so intelligent, she remembers her destination was Hogwarts and continues on, showing up there a few days afterward.

Professor Howin finds her wandering the grounds and in need of care. After assessing the wounds and recalling Professor Fig's recounting of the dragon attack a few days before, she consults with him regarding the lost thestral. She puts the creature up in the stables with the others while they send a letter to the carriage driver, alerting him of the thestral's whereabouts and condition.

Hellendil enters Fig's office as he's reading the reply.

"Pity. She's quite a gentle creature." "Who do you mean, Professor?" the curious fifth year asks. "Ah, good to see you Hellendil," Fig answers as he looks up from the letter in front of him. "To answer your question, one of the thestral's drawing our carriage that fateful day. She found her way to the castle in spite of her injuries. Professor Howin has been keeping her with the others while we contacted the driver. It appears he's not interested in keeping a lame creature and has asked us to end her suffering." The fifth year's eyes widen and his jaw drops open, "But why? Surely someone knows how to treat her injuries? Won't a healing spell or draught help?" Fig moves around the desk to place a comforting hand on the tall Ravenclaw's shoulder, "Horses and thestrals are notoriously difficult to heal of such injuries. I'm no expert on the matter, but it's often kinder in the end to do just as her owner suggests." He bows his head and closes his eyes, "Even if she does recover, it's unlikely that she'll ever be able to perform her duties again."

"We have to give her a chance, Professor!" comes the impassioned reply, his brows pressed together in worried, begging expression. "What did Professor Howin say? Do we know that she won't heal? What if I take care of her myself!?" The professor chuckles, a soft smile forming on his face, "I must say, I admire your spirit, young man. You've not been here more than a week and already you're willing to take on tasks well above your current training, not to mention how well you did during our adventure at Gringots. Why don't we talk to Professor Howin about your request together? She's better equipped to know what kind of challenge we face. If she believes it is worth the effort, then I shall see what I can do to get the thestral signed over to our care." "Thank you, professor," Hellendil answers, a look of relief in his kind blue eyes. "I am curious though, as to why you're so passionate about this. It could come at great cost to heal the creature with no guarantees of success." "I like thestrals quite a lot, sir. There's a comfort in being able to see them." His eyes are a bit distant as he responds, as if there's something more on his mind. He doesn't elaborate and Fig respects his privacy. After a moment, he looks back at Professor Fig, "I just think we ought to give her a chance, professor. She made her way to us after our ordeal, and I think she deserves that much. If she's unable to bear the weight of a carriage, it doesn't make her any less deserving of a chance at life." Fig smiles at the young brunet, "You've quite a bit of compassion for someone your age. I hope you'll continue to nurture that side of yourself. The world could always use more people who are willing to give of themselves for others. Come, let's take a stroll down to Professor Howin's office and have a chat." Hellendil nods, "Of course, professor. After you," he gestures for Fig to lead the way and falls in step behind him.

After speaking with Professor Howin they decide to continue to treat the thestral. Even if she is unable to recover completely, her good nature makes her an ideal candidate to be a teaching specimen. Howin agrees to teach and supervise Hellendil as they care for the injured beast. The Ravenclaw grows ever more attached to the creature, somehow finding time nearly every day to visit and tend to her at the stables. Eventually she becomes strong enough to carry a passenger again.

Recognizing the care the new fifth year had taken throughout the healing process and his closeness with the creature, Professor Howin releases her into his custody, with the caveat that if he is ever unable or unwilling to care for her anymore, he would return her to the school and she would live out her days as an animal ambassador for teaching Hogwarts students.

HL Characters + Periods

Anyways, these are my headcannons for the HL characters on you period, and i will probably do it in parts. I am most likely going to do Sebastian and Natsai as my first two parts. I can add the professors if people want, but idk.

Playing Hogwarts Legacy as an adult, a different POV. (Possible SPOILERS ahead, please beware)

Okay, hear me out:

When the game was announced I was super excited about the Dark Arts path, so of course as soon as I was able to play I immediately headed for that route.

But then that scene where you have to duel Sebastian happened and I thought "damn, OC is an insane duelist!" soooo... I guess my mind kind of spiraled from there because I somehow got this headcanon that OC was actually undercover at Hogwarts.

Oddly got their letter at a later age, mad skillz™️, really polite and mature... Makes sense, right?

But I don't want to be an Auror. I want to be EVIL!

So, how about an Ashwinder? Victor Rookwood is a pretty cool villain: charismatic af, kinda good looking; I can see us chilling while watching dragons fight- no wait, I hate poachers with a passion. I love magical beasts. No way my OC would ever harm one or stand by and watch as one gets hurt.

And theeeeennnnn... I met professor Aesop Sharp. 10/10 "your daughter/son/adultchild calls me daddy too". I'd like to say it was love at first sight but it was the whole "acknowledging responsibility" speech that got me.

And before you call me weird... I'm in my twenties and as much as I love the "companions" that the game lets you have, I can't physically bring myself to ship my OC with a teenager. Big no no. Weirds me the f out.

So behold, the ultimate headcanon that has been living rent free in my head since the release:

OC is a rogue ashwinder who betrayed the - organisation? Cult? Club? Ah whatever you get it - and somehow found a way to disguise themselves as a student to avoid repercussions. After all, hogwarts is a pretty safe place. They could easily stay under the radar until things had calmed down a bit.

Unless... Unless some students decided they were tired of poachers and ashwinders and decided to take the matter into their own hands. So what was oc supposed to do? Just look the other way and hide while kids got slaughtered?

Nope. Their conscience was screaming enough as it was, they couldn't let it get any louder. So they help Poppy and Nat and try their best to keep Sebastian safe while he dabbles in the dark arts (after all, they know first hand how futile it is to try and smother that fire. You need to get burnt to learn.).

Until they go too far, they become a problem. Rookwood is pissed. Avada Kedavra pissed. Life or death. Their young and foolish friends or them.

It's an easy choice, really.

They drop the spell/potion/ancient magic/whatever that made them seem younger, so the focus is on them. Rookwood's rage is on them.

The shock, the drama.

Your trusted hogwarts companion was an Ashwinder all along. Former ashwinder, but does it really matter to a teenager who only sees the world as black and white?

Would it matter to the professor OC fell for? To the other professor, the one who guided them through the keepers' trials? Or to sweet professors Weasley and Garlick, who went above and beyond to teach them everything they knew?

Would it matter to the aurors who would eventually capture them?

Ladies, gentlemen and fine people, this is my headcanon. This would be my OC (if I was a skilled modder).

I had just imagine as a headcanon a longer final battle between MC and Ranrok (dragon form), when he gets desperate seeing his people losing and tries to ATTACK the professors and were almost winning over the goblins.

As an act of fear and anger the MC lets their powers came over them and transfigurate into some sort of magical creature (also a dragon, but blue? A phoenix? Idk, but same size, a big one) the MC flies way SCREAMING at the goblin and land where all the professors were acting like a shield and saying "You are NOT gonna hurt them".

MC and Ranrok collide and fight again goin to another direction, but before they go to chase after Ranrok, they look at the professors with tender eyes kind of thanking them for protecting and looking after them for the entire year.

Idk I just want to demonstrate more love towards them like c'mon director's Black is the WORST, he doesn't feel empathy for his students AT ALL. The professors were there to make sure the students are ok since Black didn't care.

Today I saw that interaction between Black and some Slytherin students bullying a first year Hufflepuff (i think?) bc they were mudblood? I GOT SO MAD I WANTED TO CRUCIO HIS MUSTACHE OFF OF HIS FACE (yes I'm Hufflepuff, my MC is a Hufflepuff too).

"Now how could I say no to such a kind request?"

Upon realizing I'm no longer in his office with him, he makes his way through his classroom and down the stairs of the Astronomy Tower. He crossed the Transfiguration Courtyard and through Central Hall, down towards the Potions Classroom. He knocked gently on the doorframe hesitantly, stepping inside when he initially saw no one else. As expected, the potions professor's head peeked out from around a chalkboard.

"Fig? What can I do for you at this hour?" Professor Sharp was no stranger to his colleague's interesting appearances, dusting the chalk from his hands as he walked around to meet the elder man.

"Ah, yes... see, I'm looking for my pupil. She seems to have vanished and hadn't left a note nor a trace." Fig wrung his hands in slight embarrassment. Yes, I usually told him where I was going, but at the same time it was well past curfew... there were only a few places I would be. Never in my dorm, not in his office, and if I wasn't with Sharp then...

"I'm sorry, Eleazar, I haven't seen her since class this afternoon." Sharp shook his head. Fig thanked him with a nod and continued on his journey for me, making a mental note to catch up with Sharp on a later date.

He all but sprinted down to the dungeons, hurrying past the Alchemy Classroom and to the abandoned stairwells I had shown him months ago. He didn't believe me at first, why would he? But then he saw the floor... well, the map, his feet bouncing across it as if he'd damage it.

And that's where I currently am, staring at the fourth lit spot on the floor of the Map Chamber. I've given up on pacing around, and by some miracle of Merlin himself the Keepers have all kept their irrelevant comments to themselves.

The doors to the chamber swung open, yet I did not move. There was no point in being alarmed when I knew there was only one other living being in the entire school who knew the existence of this room. He didn't say anything as he hurried down the stairs and across the floor, walking towards me with a purpose and a set expression on his face. I only looked up at him as he grew closer, my initial expression of content turning to that of concern at the look.

"Professor? Wha-" I didn't have time to finish my thoughts, as soon as he was close enough he pulled me into an incredibly tight hug, the likes of which I had not felt in a very, very long time.

"You are loved... never forget that. You are loved..." I stood there in shock for a few moments. It was the first time he had actually hugged me... Tears welled in my eyes, and although I tried my hardest to prevent their fall it was no use, several of them landing on his robes. "Come... this chamber will still be here in the morning. You need rest... 'warmth and comfort' as well." Fig smiled, conjuring a soft quilt and wrapping it around my shoulders. I simply looked at him, eyebrows furrowed in extreme confusion.

"What are you talking about, Professor?" I couldn't help but laugh, his arm still around my now wrapped shoulders as we ascended the stairs.
