What Factors are Contributing to the Loss of Business for China in Apparel and Textile Sourcing?
There are several factors contributing to the loss of business for China in apparel and sourcing textile materials, including
Tariffs and trade wars: The tariffs imposed by the United States and other countries have significantly impacted China’s apparel and textile businesses. The tariffs have made Chinese exports more expensive, reducing the competitiveness of Chinese products in the global market.
Labor costs: The labor costs in China have been increasing, making it less attractive for international buyers to source from China. Additionally, the lack of labor mobility in China has made it difficult for businesses to access workers.
Environmental regulations: The stricter environmental regulations in China have made it more expensive for textile and apparel businesses. In order to operate in the country, leading some companies consider alternative sourcing options.
Intellectual property concerns: Some companies have been concerned about the protection of their intellectual property in China. Therefore, it leads to a reduction in the number of businesses sourcing from the country.
Political instability: The ongoing political tensions between China and other countries have made some companies hesitant to source from China. Due to concerns about supply chain disruptions.
These factors have contributed to a decline in the competitiveness of China’s apparel and sourcing textile materials business. Consequently, it leads to a loss of business for the country in this sector.

once again thinking about the fact that I'm kind of mean to people in MLMs shilling beauty products who want to Have Me Try Things because my skin is so dry and so sensitive that I do NOT try anything new unless I'm desperate. I finally found the stuff that doesn't turn my face into lizard-skin and also doesn't break me out. Please leave me alone.
#a day in the life of mlle sarcasme#about couple years ago I went to one (1) mary kay party for a friend#and was as polite as I could be but kind of a deliberately hard sell#because i made it very clear up-front that i'm not interested in the products#and honestly have no idea what i'm allergic to (I don't)#just that lots of things make me break out or flaky#(or both! that's happened too!)#anyway she told us to ask her questions and wouldn't let us NOT#so i asked her about whether or not the company ethically sources its mica#that was. a fun moment

Inspector Morley, Late of Scotland Yard, Investigates: The Case of the Scarlet Letters (1.3, WGN-TV, 1952)
"Mr. Mullins, I have in my possession sixty-eight letters, none of which has begun to outlive its usefulness. I'm quite prepared to admit that blackmail is risky, but then murder has its disadvantages too - that is why I gave up murder."
#inspector morley late of scotland yard investigates#inspector morley late of scotland yard#(there's some confusion about the correct title of this series; it appears onscreen with 'investigates' but many online sources omit the#final word and it wouldn't be unique in having a title screen that differed slightly from the official name of the show; either way it's a#hell of an unwieldy name for your programme.....)#classic tv#1952#john gilling#victor m. gover#tod slaughter#patrick barr#tucker mcguire#leonard sharp#another rediscovered gem made available by the good folks at kaleidoscope#oof. ok. so the story of Inspector Morley is complicated and still semi mysterious (the show is 70 years old after all‚ there's precious#little surviving documentation). as far as it goes‚ this was a UK production intended for sale to the BBC (there existing no independent tv#company in 1952). the beeb‚ for whatever reason‚ passed on the series. 13 episodes had been made and of these about seven were cobbled#together into feature films to recoup some of the costs; those survived and saw occasional outings on rainy afternoon tv schedules here#it was thought that the remainder were junked‚ but research (not my own i hasten to add) has revealed that the whole series was in fact sol#to the US where it was shown on WGN (a Chicago based station i believe). when kaleidoscope recovered this particular episode some 6 or 7#years ago‚ it was thought to be the sole surviving episode‚ at least in its original format (ie. not edited into a feature). actually it#sounds like they might all exist and a few are even on youtube (including this one). this is very early detective tv and it shows its age#not just in its ropey visuals (it's all quite soft and fuzzy) but in its very old fashioned shape and design‚ which is closer to mid#century film than what television would shortly become. that sensation is only furthered by the presence of the immortal Tod Slaughter‚ a#bastion of early british cinema and one of the first horror icons the uk ever produced. unusually‚ it seems like he starred in most (if not#all) of the episodes of the series; unusual bc he plays the villain‚ opposite Barr's staunch ex copper Morley. having a recurring villain#must certainly have helped when editing the shows into films for cinema release but it was quite a strange choice for tv#tho perhaps a set cast reduced costs (this was clearly a budget production‚ tho it does feature some impressive early location shooting)#Slaughter is great fun‚ in full scenery chewing mode as the wicked and unrepentant mastermind behind all sorts of crimes#Barr even has personal beef with him‚ though it would require seeing the other eps to fully understand it i suspect

Which departments use textiles?
In this section, we will have a brief description of different industries that makes use of textiles. Textiles are used in numerous industries which you might not know. We will go through such industries one by one and try to understand, how textile plays a crucial role in this sector.
Spinning
Usually, the conversion of natural or man-made fiber into yarn is called as spinning. In the spinning department, many steps are included which are as follows:
Carding
Blowroom
Combing
Drawing
Ring Frame
Simplex
The first step of spinning is the blow room. At this step, the cotton bale is converted into a uniform lap. At this step, proper opening, blending, cleaning, or mixing of the fabric takes place.
Manufacturing of fabric
Fabric manufacturing consists of many steps. Among all of those steps, the most used steps are weaving and knitting. The major method of fabric manufacturing is weaving.
Earlier people used to observe the twigs, grass, or nests of birds to understand how to create fabrics. The main purpose to work on spinning methods is to improve the quality of the woven raw materials. In this day and age, people operate the same function on hand-operated looms.
The popularity of knitting is that it has increased tremendously in recent years. Along with this adaptability of new man-made fibers and growth the demand of consumers has increased tremendously. Read More: https://globalbasesourcing.blogspot.com/2023/02/what-are-textile-products.html

its kinda wild to me when people say they have genshin characters they hate bc generally none of them act super antagonistic towards each other (with some exceptions ig) like it's literally an entire game of mostly good people (again with some exceptions) the only thing i could find hateful is that some of them are boring. and then i just wouldn't care about them
#like a lot of characters arcs are very chewable you just gotta read the source material instead of relying on your first impression#i hate dori as a matter of principle but that's a different story#like i feel like you can tell that she's a product of the company's biases and disgusting opinions#the other ones i can either understand from afar or just don't care#i also dislike diluc as a matter of principle bc a certain immature subset of fans of him and his bro are annoying as fuck#but like that's genuinely just fanon dislike theres nobody that makes me want to scream cry and throw up whenever they appear in canon lol#hating on certain ppls opinions rn. also i cant believe i saw the 'fontaine justice system = copaganda' take not a day after i saw#commentary roasting ppls reading comprehension bc wow i guess thats still a necessary roast#ramblings!

I think that part of why I personally didn't like the rwrb movie was that it just felt like a compilation of shots from the book and not like a cohesive story. I feel like if I had never read the book I'd be asking why I was supposed to care if they made it or not outside of them being the main characters and for reasons of queer because they didn't really give a whole lot of why I should care about them. They hated each other kissed and then had sex a couple times got outed and that was it.
#there was just a lack of depth in the emotional arc#i dont want to compare to heartstopper because different source materials and different production types and companies but like#how can i not?#rwrb#rwrb movie#red white and royal blue

“boycotts work” in response to starbucks apparently losing money like… okay work to do what??? what has starbucks done, in response to losing money due to the boycott, to stop materially supporting israel? well. they weren’t materially supporting israel in the first place, were they. like perhaps i missed something in all of this but if i’m not mistaken it started because of them suing union members who posted about supporting palestine? which sucks! but… what is the express goal of boycotting them? punish them for being in support israel? sure! a perfectly good reason not to spend your money at starbucks! there’s PLENTY of good reasons not to give starbucks your money im all for, in general, not financially supporting them. but you can’t say a boycott “worked” if there was no goal in the first place. beyond making them lose money. you’re supposed to make them lose money SO THAT THEY WILL DO SOMETHING. starbucks is not a part of the official bds boycott list! mcdonald’s was added but starbucks still hasn’t been! because again. there is no clear goal. AND YET it’s the most “popular” thing to boycott. bc everyone can feel like they’re participating bc it’s *starbucks* and yeah you’re not buying HP or puma products every day to begin with but not buying your starbucks drink makes you feel like you’re doing something.
#sorry this is a mess idk where to put line breaks#i’m just soooo sick of starbucks starbucks starbucks#FUCK starbucks to be clear if it’s possible to boycott them successfully enough to make a difference that’s a GOOD THING#wish it was being channeled into something more practical#if we can boycott starbucks can we boycott them in protest of their union busting#like not that this isn’t important but a starbucks boycott isn’t going to materially affect things in This Situation#but there are other things starbucks is doing that a boycott with clear goals COULD accomplish#literally this is all related to their anti union practices too#anyway choosing not to spend your money somewhere because you don’t support their views#is a perfectly good thing to do im not saying you should go buy every drink from starbucks#i’m saying what is the POINT of the starbucks boycott and why is it ALL that gets talked about#when everything actually on the bds list gets glossed over#r.txt#similarly i saw a tweet like ‘(brand) is on the bds boycott list’ and i looked it up and it is not#the source was an app that tells you if companies support israel#both materially or in like statements and stuff#AND AGAIN. i also want to try to avoid israeli products when i can#or companies w ties to israel#but that is NOT the same as bds#i hate that i’m mad about this i’m just like okay what do you want starbucks to DO???#it just feels like all it’s done is take focus away from ACTUALL bds boycotts by becoming Thee Boycott

The fact that stealing images from competitors' websites is such an essential part of my job almost makes me feel like a pirate
#most of the product images are sourced correctly (from the manufacturer or someone who works for my company who takes photos of them)#but nearly every planogram has items that dont have images.. so i have to go find them#thankfully walmart and kroger and meijer etc are better at it than my company

we shouldn't have let the internet have the phrase "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism"
#rambling#it means that an exploitative system cannot produce goods that aren't in some way funded by the exploitation of the people#and that we shouldn't let corpos and big companies wash their hands off selling ''ethically sourced'' products or green-washing their shit#and that we cannot truly have change happen unless we do something to stop capitalists and their influence#there may not be ethical consumption NOW but if we fight capitalism and its unethical production conditions WE CAN HAVE IT#but NOT by reflexively feeding the capitalist machine#IT DOESN'T MEAN you can just keep buying and supporting whatever you want regardless of its direct or indirect material damage on you#just because you now have this magical sentence to retort all criticisms with#''well there is no ethical consumption under capitalism so i will keep consuming things unethically''#why can't you instead go ''there is no ethical consumption under capitalism so i will do something about it even if small''#it's just mindless complacency with a glossy coat!! that's exactly what capitalists want!! AAAA!!!!#if i had a penny for every fucking person i've seen saying that shit about that stupid wizard game i myself would be a multimillionaire#like GROW A FUCKING SPINE#dear goddddddddddd#i'm UPSET!!!! >:c
