This week on my Patreon, I am sharing an unfinished essay from 2015 about the death of a friend of mine and in turn my reflections on how we show love during times of grief. As someone processing grief, I know it was important for me to see it from the vaults. https://www.patreon.com/posts/62365151 #Greif #LoveLanguages #SupportingLovedOnes #ProcessingGrief #Patreon https://www.instagram.com/p/CZyGhqhuV1y/?utm_medium=tumblr

This is 💯 my truth. Now, most of my "life" changes have been positive ones. Despite probably experiencing death more than the average person, it was Mom's departure that made it instantly clear to me in the biggest way that we are not here in these bodies forever. It gave me the courage to finally let go of relationships, ideas and beliefs that no longer worked or fit, and helped me see that I wanted to be HAPPY and care less about all of those pesky worries about what all of you might think of me. This, of course, was not immediate. In my pain, I stumbled around, barely existing for a good few years. Although we may want nothing more at the time, we cannot let ourselves die when they die. Nothing would make our loved ones more sad. LIVE. LIFE. NOW. #Repost @crossdadoffthelist • • • • • • Deal with it! . We have changed and that's okay! Your priorities and perspective on life changes. If you don't want to be in my life or there is no support there, you're out!😡 . Who is a different person now they have gone through serious loss? 🤔 #deathanddying #lifecontinues #processinggrief #deathpositive #healthyself #LOVE #wotd #loveyourselfliketheydo #picoftheday #photooftheday #potd https://www.instagram.com/p/CNDiNW2j5vk/?igshid=15icztc2wbpdm

Our journeys bring us so many different stages and phases that are accompanied by happiness, grief, relief, betrayal, the list is endless.  My self-love journey has taught me to process pain in a different way.  Always be gentle with yourself and others. #speakingthroughmyworld #processinggrief #begentlewithyourself💫 https://www.instagram.com/p/CMynD3hg4EZ/?igshid=1nshkaz0xt7qh

Working on Grief Wednesdays with Monei Da Goddess 💋 🗣️🎤🗣️🎤🗣️ Question for families who've lost loved ones to violence (especially mother's).  What triggers you to go into a down spiral of reliving that traumatic experience that plays in your mind like a looped video? Monei: For me it's watching shows where parents are told that their child didn't make it. Especially the part when the doctor's say, "we did everything we could". 😪😩 #workonitwednesdays #processinggrief #grief #triggers #griefcoach #gotroughittogetthroughit #disscussion #hypnotherapist #holisticpractitioner #follow #moneidagoddess #themoones_fanpage #divinedivasholistichealing (at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/CG5RU29l8rG/?igshid=1mo3r2wjsn4ib

Work in progress. I wanted to illustrate what it’s like to process grief for me. This unraveling. It hits every emotion, it tears your perception apart, it’s rebuilds you, it’s energized you, it sets you aflame, and releases that darkness you’ve held onto since you were 7. It’s a catalyst for change, it can lighten your heart, it can bury you in sorrow, it can cultivate better understanding of self care. It doesn’t make the world all better I just ads to your wisdom, give you a little nudge in the right direction and letting yourself be free, even if for just little moments at first. It’s shouted in shame and scars and just waiting to be really looked at, appreciated and accepted. The process can be quick and easy or last a life time, there is no timeline, it has its own will at times. I’m grateful for the process, but often surprised at how much it still unexpectedly hits me years down the road. . . . #grief #shame #processinggrief #internaldialogue #selflove #internallandscape (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1CkyblglV1/?igshid=1f64h58f4j3vg
