im making a thread of things that happened in the wolverine's canonical lifespan. Cause they had movie that was supposed to be his ORIGIN story, but it gave 5 minutes to one experience in his childhood and 45 cumulative seconds to like THREE major wars he was in. So just to highlight how rich this character COULD be with culture across actual CENTURIES here's some shit that Logan Howlett lived through since he was born in the year of our lord, 1832. (By the way, as of earlier this month, that makes him 192 years old cause I think some people just wanted him to have the same birthday as hugh jackman which is great and I support it but I also can't find any evidence that it's actually true.) the last note I will make is that 1832 is neither the date supported by the comics and I've heard that it's not even true for Origins, but it's the most commonly cited and I think it will all be okay. it will all be okay in time. Oh yeah, and spoilers for x men origins Wolverine.

- For historical background, 1801 in America saw the election of Thomas Jefferson, who was the THIRD ever president of the US, so just for context the revolutionary war was just under 30 years prior and the events of Hamilton the musical will shake out within 3 years.

- Anyways in Canada after the American revolution the British split the territory in half, upper and lower Canada and all the British loyalists in the North American colonies went up there. 20 years after the split was the war of 1812.

- Washington Irving was alive during what would be Logan's parents? Time? which I mention because I think Beast would quote him and it would send Logan into a flashback that's the only reason

FROM HERE OUT Logan was probably alive for these things:

- Charles Darwin visits the Galápagos Islands in 1835 but it's hard to say how that really fits in with there being 'evolved' mutants but it's an interesting thought.

- Telegraphs were being widely used by the 1840s. Cool

- there's the Great famine in Ireland late 1840s which kicks off a lot of immigration to the US, in time for the gold rush starting around 1848. Also during this period Edgar Allan Poe hits national fame

- Ok finally getting to the First fucking thing we even see in Origins after the initial opening scene. This is being shown WHILE credits are rolling: the civil war. (1861-65) (Idk if him and Victor are still living in Canada at this point or if they've emigrated to the US after being on the run(?) but it doesn't really matter since Canadians did fight in the war regardless, mostly on the union side, obviously. By this time, they're both certifiably adults. Also Abraham Lincoln is assassinated.

- the late 1870s had graham bell's telephone and Edison's lightbulb. And wax cylinders for music on phonographs. Battle of Little Bighorn in Montana in the summer of 1876

- 1886 I wrote "statue of liberty put up. damn."

- 1890's: Wounded Knee, Carnegie hall OPENS, Sherlock Holmes first appears in a newspaper. kinda thought that was interesting. 93 there's a depression in America that foreshadows the Great Depression, then oh this one is important,

- 1894 has the first motorcycle production in the US! wow.. later Logan will buy his favorite '48 panhead "new off the line"

The beauty of Naiads and rare Dryads is undeniable, but most experts will agree that a common Tree Dryad makes the best pet for beginners.

Yello, I use any pronouns and I write the DSMP sections! I'm very new to Hermitcraft but I've watched Evo and a lot of the DSMP stuff is just what I've seen or heard. I've disconnected the content creators from the characters a long time ago so I have no problems with writing their characters. I have not seen a good chunk of the arcs but I have a good understanding of everything and my own versions so a good chunk of people are most likely very out of character.

Howdy hey! I use any pronouns. I'm writing the Hermitcraft sections of this fic. I've watched a lot of hermitcraft, specifically the season this is set in, season 7, as well as most of Evo Smp. I watched all of Techno's POV of the DSMP, and know most of the lore for it. I am not active in the DSMP space any more aside from Technoblade and this fic. I see the characters as separate from the CC's, and have been writing them like that for a while. This is my first collab fic, and I'm really excited!

“Get Low is not our song!”

“What are you talking about? Of course it is! It’s the first song we danced to on the first night we kissed.”

“First of all, you drunkenly dragging me onto a dancefloor against my will does not constitute us dancing.”

Alex made a face, cutting his eyes over to a bemused Nora.

“And second,” Henry continued. “I will remind you once again this is partially a royal wedding. There will be no use of the word ‘balls.’”

June gave a snort at this, and Henry shot her an et tu look.

“Fine,” Alex said, dragging out the word in a pout. “What song do you want for our first dance?”

“I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” Henry said as though it were obvious, and yeah, it absolutely was.

“Oh,” Alex said, his mouth hinging open. “Yeah.” The night in the museum came flooding back to him. Three years. It felt like yesterday. Alex looked up to see Henry giving him his exasperated-fond look. A look that said, “How did you forget our song, you daft, beautiful thing?”

“Okay,” Nora said, crossing First Dance off the list Alex gave her. “That’s settled then. Now we have to decide on the cake.”

If perty was in WoD, I’d say he is a hunter, just still fucking hates Door.

That’s his main reason for splitting off from the family.

Probably because he and Door disagreed on he best bench type.

As for the hunter part, I’d say a reluctant one. Like one even more reluctant than the one the Mun over in the serious Guilliman blog has written up.

It’s just that he get caught up in it for the most random of reasons. Except for hunting Vampires, replace it with Werewolves.

Due to this he is somewhat knowledgeable (as a hunter can be) on werewolf stuff but knows jack shit about vampires and how to fight them.

Perhaps he constantly runs into a garou who is trying to do something spiritual, and then they decide to try and kill him. And fail.

From this he has more then likely encountered a few Warforms and has developed somewhat of an immunity to it, being able to keep a level head but still blocking the memory out.

Heavily scared on the chest from the constant cuts from claws there, he is content to just get an engineering degree.

He gets paid to do something for someone rich, (perhaps a wealthy ventrue) a bone gnawer tries to intervene with it, it spirals out of control due to both parties having horrible people skills.

Of course he can still recognize vampires for what they are, he just always somehow gets caught up in dealing with werewolves one way or another.

Now I wanna expand on this.

Part of me wants to make an AU where Shen Yuan never breaks the OOC lock, or at least breaks it WAY later. I want to see the shenanigans and loopholes he pulls on the system to get his way. He's a clever guy who can strategize and argue like he will die on ANY and EVERY hill, and he DID manage to twist things his way before the lock was lifted. I want to see how far he could GO.

Shen Qingqiu: Obviously the scum villain, upon finding out the little beast is an excellent cook, would keep those skills for himself. He wouldn't share or allow another peak lord or disciple to benefit from it!

I feel fandom would get along a lot better if there was mutual understanding that liking a character, agreeing with a character, and thinking the character is well constructed/executed are all separate (if often overlapping) positions, each with their separate tastes and subjectivities. Also: character portrayals are intended to make the audience feel things; this is separate from (if often overlapping with) analyzing/appreciating their actions and role in the story.
