@thevibraniumveterans You are correct. I noticed the similarities between these melodies first time I watched Rebels and heard Ezra’s theme. It immediately reminded me of the Han Solo and the Princess love theme from TESB, which has a “concert” version that I highly recommend.

“Han Solo and the Princess” represents Han’s daring heroics as well as his feelings for Leia in the score for The Empire Strikes Back.

Listen carefully from around 2:31 and you will hear how John Williams intertwined Princess Leia’s Theme with the Han Solo theme, giving the listener no doubt that Han’s love for the Princess is reciprocated. It’s brilliant. John Williams is an absolute genius.

There are moments in the Rebels score in which the presentation of Sabine’s theme easily slides right into Ezra’s theme. It happens around 2:00 in this recording.

Composers don’t do things like that by accident. It’s done deliberately. 😉

An interesting analysis of “Sabine Sees Ezra.”

Even though Sabine and Ezra’s themes reflect their different personalities, it is interesting to note that both themes begin with the same interval, a heroic-sounding perfect fifth.

I’m hoping for a really emotional track called “Sabine Finds Ezra” from the Ahsoka series. I just want the music to make me cry tears of joy right along with them during that scene.

The good news is that Kevin Kiner is the composer for Ahsoka, so I am expecting some thematic continuity with Rebels. I loved that the Ahsoka trailer music is based on Ahsoka’s theme from The Clone Wars.

In 2019 and 2020, Mattel released a series of 7 Barbies themed around Star Wars characters. Unlike many of the other pop culture Barbie tie-ins, though, these aren't Barbies dressed to look like Star Wars characters: these are high fashion ensembles inspired by Star Wars characters.

And they rule.

Princess Leia and Rey look relatively directly inspired by the fashions of those characters in the film; just with a bit more of a fashion spin. In particular note that Leia still has her iconic bun hairstyle.

However some of the other fashions are more inspired by than they are direct riffs. Chewbacca for example is a pretty loose adaptation.

My personal favourite though is definitely the Stormtrooper Barbie. She kind of slays.

6 of the 7 dolls were released as Gold Label, but Chewbacca was a Platinum Label release with less than 5000 dolls created.

Can´t decide what´s my favorite part about the latest guess the build videos, but these are strong contenders:

Jimmy and Grian each saying what grinds their gears is the other being late to their stream – and then Joel gets Grian´s the wrong way around at the end

A build of Jimmy and Grian, Impulse guessing “best friends […]” and Grian building himself and Jimmy again

Gem, who has never watched Star Wars, having to build “a man crying over Princess Leia”, deciding to build Scar, and to make Scar one starts with booty shorts

Scar showing up at one point to troll Grian so Grian had to lock him in spectator mode

All the times Impulse got the fairy tale (his own theme!) tragically wrong

Skizz´ terrible Etho build (as literal teacher´s pet!), Gem recognizing who it´s supposed to be, and “Joel teaching Etho redstone” being guessed multiple times in the “unlikely things” category

Further in the “unlikely things” category, “Jimmy winning the Life series” staying consistent the whole way through

Grian demanding Jimmy apologize to Joel´s audience for how he depicted them

Joel´s theme simply being “me” – and that not turning out the ego boost he wanted ^^

It had been the best day ever, but it wasn’t over yet.

You’d been that kid in school. The one who’s parents took them to Disney every summer, the one who was forever obsessed with all the movies and princesses and getting all dressed up to go meet Mickey Mouse the first day in the parks.

Your sweet midwestern boyfriend had never been, and you were determined to make it the best week of his life, planning adventure after adventure and the grand finale would be to spend the day at Galaxy’s Edge doing all the Star Wars themed things until his little nerd heart was good and content.

You woke him up that morning in space buns and a Princess Leia t-shirt, holding up the matching Han Solo one and bouncing on your toes as you excitedly rush him to get ready, promises for this to be the best day spilling from your mouth between kisses.

You’d taken him on every ride at least twice, loving the sparkle in his bright blue eyes as he takes it all in, and oh the character meet ups had been even better! Watching your tall, broad man be dwarfed by Chewbacca was hilarious, and when he’d gotten to see the Mandalorian it was the little giggle he let out at Grogu that had your heart absolutely melting.

You’d been waiting all day for his big surprise, and as you led him to the building marked Savi’s workshop he gasped when he realized what you had planned. “Wait- are we really?” He said with a toothy grin and you giggled at how childlike he looked in this moment. “We absolutely are, only the best for my man. Let’s go build you a lightsaber baby.”

He was over the moon, he’d loved every bit of this vacation but really today had taken the cake. He posed for pictures with stormtroopers in front of the Millennium Falcon and his new lightsaber while you grinned from ear to ear, and he knew for sure you were absolutely it for him. So when he pulled you in to take some pictures with him he distracted you with a kiss as he pulled the pretty ring from his pocket and then bent down to ask you to be his. You’d said it would be the best day ever for him but maybe it could be the best day for you both, tears welling up in your eyes as you squealed an enthusiastic yes while the crowd around you erupted in cheers and applause.

Later that night in your fancy suite at the Grand Floridian, your handsome Jedi laid you out on the gorgeous king size bed and took you apart with his hands and mouth before he finally sunk into you as he whispered the sweetest words that had your chest swelling with love and pride. Cradled in his arms in the early morning hours he sighed into the crook of your neck “I love you” and you just couldn’t help but reply “I know” with a grin.

It really had been the best day ever.

Anyone else absolutely WRECKED by the echo of Princess Leia’s theme at the end of Kenobi? When he says good bye to her? And they won’t see each other again until he dies for her? Just me?

And RIGHT FROM THERE we segway to Luke’s theme and Obi wan gives him the toy ship…

Say what you will about the show (I loved it) the soundtrack was FIRE.

I dressed everyone up for Halloween and had so much fun that I decided to do a few quick renders. Everybody is part of a themed set (as you might expect, Lilith is dressed up as Princess Leia) but the groups don't go together at ALL - so here's Luke Skywalker sneaking off with Galinda Upland to gaze up at a galaxy far, far away 😂
