Josef Hoflehner (born 1955) is an Austrian photographer known for his dramatic black-and-white landscape and subtle color images. He is also known for his "Jet Airliner" series—mostly high-key photographs of people on Maho Beach on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, overshadowed by low-flying passenger planes taking off and landing at Princess Juliana International Airport. He was voted Nature Photographer of the Year 2007, and named as one of "Austria's 10 Best Contemporary Artists" in 2014.

Visit to The Caribbean part of The Kingdom - Day 7
St Maarten, Monday 6 February
The King and Queen and the Princess of Orange will be welcomed at Princess Juliana International Airport by the Governor of St Maarten Ajamu Baly and Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs. The first day of the visit will focus on the country’s reconstruction following the devastation caused by hurricane Irma in September 2017. The royal party will view the airport which is currently still being rebuilt. During a visit to the emergency and disaster response services, the King and Queen and the Princess of Orange will assist in a disaster exercise. They will then visit the St Maarten Medical Center. This hospital plays a key role in the region and also treats many patients from St Eustatius and Saba. The King, Queen and Princess will speak to patients and will be updated on the expansion of the hospital. They will then have lunch with the cabinet.
In the afternoon the royal party will be taken on the Color Me SXM mural walk in Philipsburg. These murals are designed to brighten up Philipsburg, as many of the town’s buildings are still vacant or damaged following the hurricane. The day will conclude with lively displays of St Maarten’s culture along a walking route and a concert on the Boardwalk in Philipsburg.

Boeing 727-21, serial number 19260, VP-BAP on departure out of SXM. The Boeing 727 is an American narrow-body airliner that was developed and produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After the heavy 707 quad-jet was introduced in 1958, Boeing addressed the demand for shorter flight lengths from smaller airports. On December 5, 1960, the 727 was launched with 40 orders each from United Airlines and Eastern Air Lines. The first 727-100 rolled out November 27, 1962, first flew on February 9, 1963, and entered service with Eastern on February 1, 1964. The only trijet aircraft to be produced by Boeing, the 727 is powered by Pratt & Whitney JT8D low-bypass turbofans below a T-tail, one on each side of the rear fuselage and a center one fed through an S-duct. It shares its six-abreast upper fuselage cross-section and cockpit with the 707. The 133 ft (40.5 m) long 727-100 typically carries 106 passengers in two classes over 2,250 nmi (4,170 km), or 129 in a single class. Launched in 1965, the stretched 727-200 flew in July 1967 and entered service with Northeast Airlines that December. The 20 ft (6.1 m) longer variant typically carries 134 passengers in two classes over 2,550 nmi (4,720 km), or 155 in a single class. Besides the airliner accommodation, a freighter and a Quick Change convertible version were offered. 🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬 🛩️Aircraft Manufacturer: @boeing. 🛩️Aircraft Model: B727-21. 🛩️Aircraft Registration: VP-BAP. 🛩️FBO: @signaturefbo. 🛩️Route: TNCM - KVNY. 📍Location: Princess Juliana Int’l Airport, St. Maarten. 📆Date: 3/21/2023. 📸 Photo Captured by: Franklyn Wilson | @beeksphotos . 🛫 🛬 www.linktr.ee/beeksphotos 🛫 🛬 #tncm #sxm #instagramaviation #ilivewhereyouvacation #instagood #teamaviation #aviationlovers #corporatejets #businessjets #bizjets #aviationphotographyphotos #sintmaartenphotographer #sxmphotographer #planespotting #privatejets #passionpassport #privatejetillustrated #mahobeachexperience #malibuconsultingcorp, #boeing #b727 #pjp #fyp #vpbap #3212023 #beeksphotos #swipeleft (at Princess Juliana International Airport Sint Maarten) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqFustJucqB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

World’s Strangest Beaches You Have to See to Believe
Picture the perfect beach—tropical breeze, white sand, and crystal-clear blue water. Now picture something a little less conventional—a beach made of black pebbles, a beach of multicolored clay rocks, or an entire beach that glows in the dark. No matter what you’re looking for, these 5 strangest beaches in the world are sure to surprise and delight you!
Glass Beach – Fort Bragg, California This beach is littered with colorful glass pieces that have been tumbled smooth by decades of pounding waves. This unique beach was created from years of dumping trash off the cliffs above into the ocean. The glass pieces were broken down over time by the surf and eventually swept up on shore. Now it's one of the most beautiful and unique beaches in all of California! Bring your own pair of sunglasses - this beach will make them look great!
Papakolea Beach – Hawai’i This is probably one of the most stunning beaches on our list. Papakolea Beach features beautiful green sand thanks to olivine crystals that have eroded from the nearby cinder cone volcano. It's truly a sight to behold as you can see pieces of green glass mixed in with golden sand while relaxing on this remote Hawaiian shoreline. Make sure to bring some hiking shoes so you can explore all that olivine has to offer!
Maho Beach – St Maarten This isn't just any ordinary beach; it's one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean! Maho Beach offers visitors a unique opportunity to watch planes land right over their heads as they relax on this famous seaside strip located just outside Princess Juliana International Airport. If you're feeling daring, take a dip in the ocean as low-flying planes thunder overhead at full speed–just don't forget your earplugs!                                                                                                                                                                                                      Solar Beach – Sint Maarten  This might be one of the most surreal beaches on our list. Solar Beach is located on an uninhabited island just off Sint Maarten's coast and at night it glows with eerie blue light thanks to bioluminescent plankton that call its waters home. These tiny organisms give off light when disturbed, making for a mesmerizing experience underfoot as you paddle through its warm waters in search for more glowing creatures!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Hot Water Beach – New Zealand  If you want to experience something truly unique then head over to Hot Water Beach located on New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula. As its name implies, this beach has hot springs bubbling up through its golden sands during low tide–allowing visitors to enjoy their own personal hot tubs right at their feet! Just be careful not to stay too long; temperatures can reach up to 65 degrees Celsius (149 Fahrenheit).
From hot sands and glowing plankton, multicolored clay rocks and glass-filled shores—these 7 strangest beaches are true marvels worth exploring if you have ever dreamed about visiting somewhere truly unique. So grab your swimsuit and sunscreen and get ready for an unforgettable adventure like no other! Who knows? You might even find your new favorite destination along the way!
