Leicester vs Tottenham: Preview, predictions and lineups - Journal Global Online - BLOGGER https://www.merchant-business.com/leicester-vs-tottenham-preview-predictions-and-lineups/?feed_id=170556&_unique_id=66c2ff0a560cf After a largely positive first season under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur kick off the Australian’s second campaign at the helm with a trip to Leicester City this Monday.Spurs’ 2024/25 Premier League opener sees them make the tricky trip to newly-promoted Leicester City, a fixture they lost 4-1 on their most recent journey to the King Power Stadium. Having just missed out on Champions League qualification last season, the Lilywhites will be desperate to breach the top four come the end of campaign. The acquisition of sharpshooter Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth will certainly help their chances. Spurs lacked an orthodox number nine last term but appear to have fixed that particular issue with the 26-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals in 2023/24.Despite winning the Championship title last season, Leicester’s return to the top flight comes with trepidation. The Foxes could yet face a points deduction, have had to replace Enzo Maresca with Steve Cooper and have been underwhelming in pre-season. They will be firmly in a relegation battle come May if they don’t make a fast start. Here is 90min’s guide to Leicester vs Tottenham this Monday.Leicester vs Tottenham H2H Record (Last Five Games)Current form (all competitions)LeicesterTottenhamLens 3-0 Leicester – 10/08/24Tottenham 2-3 Bayern Munich – 10/08/24Augsburg 1-0 Leicester – 03/08/24Bayern Munich 2-1 Tottenham – 03/08/24Leicester 0-1 Palermo – 26/07/24K-League All Stars 3-4 Tottenham – 31/07/24Shrewsbury 1-2 Leicester – 23/07/24Vissel Kobe 2-3 Tottenham – 27/07/24Villarreal 1-2 Leicester – 20/07/24QPR 0-2 Tottenham – 20/07/24CountryTV channel/live streamUnited KingdomSky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Ultra HD, Sky GO, Sky GO ExtraUnited StatesfuboTV, nbcsports.com, NBC Sports App, UNIVERSO NOW, Telemundo Deportes En Vivo, USA Network, UNIVERSOCanadafuboTVVardy is unlikely to feature / Copa/GettyImagesLeicester are likely to be without four players for the visit of Spurs, including forward duo Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka. Both are doubtful with minor injuries, meaning there could be a surprise start for Tom Cannon on Monday evening.Backup goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk is out for the long term after undergoing surgery and centre-back Conor Coady is also missing for at least the next three or four weeks.Cooper will be tempted to hand competitive debuts to new signings Caleb Okoli, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Facundo Buonanotte, the latter having recently signed on loan from Brighton.Leicester predicted lineup vs Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Winks; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Mavididi; Cannon.Solanke could start on Monday / Warren Little/GettyImagesTottenham don’t have many injury concerns heading into their opener but they could be short up top. Richarlison has missed pre-season through injury and may not be fit enough to feature against Leicester, while new signing Solanke is nursing a minor foot injury – although Postecoglou has hinted at him starting in the Midlands. If neither forward is available then Dejan Kulusevski will feature in a false nine role, as he has done in pre-season. James Maddison is likely to turn out against his former club for the first time, while new signing Archie Gray could get a debut against a team he knows well from his time at Leeds United.Yves Bissouma has been suspended by Spurs for Monday’s match following a video emerging of the midfielder using nitrous oxide.Tottenham predicted lineup vs Leicester (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Gray; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke.Leicester’s clashes with Tottenham tend to produce goals – 28 in the last five meetings to be precise – but Cooper will be desperate to make this game as tight and scrappy as possible.
With injuries up top and goalless outings in their last three pre-season friendlies, defence is likely to be prioritised against an attack-minded Spurs side. However, there is only so much that Leicester’s defence will be able to do and Tottenham should find a way to make their superior quality count. Son Heung-min has scored five times in his last three meetings with the Foxes and could be the difference-maker again for the north Londoners.Prediction: Leicester 1-2 TottenhamREAD THE LATEST PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS, RUMOURS & GOSSIP“Tottenham face Leicester in their Premier League opener this Monday. A history of Luke Shaw at Manchester United Football Club
Luke Paul Hoare Shaw
Born 12th July 1995, Kingston upon Thames.
He grew up a Chelsea Football Club Fan and trialled for their academy. He was refused and instead went to Southampton Football club at aged 8, he eventually broke through to the first team where he would stay until 2014.
First season - 2014/15
27th June 2014
Manchester United by 18-year-old left back Luke Shaw from Southampton after being rejected the month previously. He signs for £27 million with the option to rise to £31 million dependent on performances. He signs a 4-year contract with an option to extend for a further year taking him to 2019.
14th September 2014
After an eventful preseason in the US which was riddled with fitness concerns Louis Van Gaal had already named Shaw as a substitute against Queens Park Rangers. Luke would not make his debut for Manchester United as he would be left as unused during the 90 minutes. Manchester United would go on to with this match 4-0.
21st September 2014
Luke would again be an unused substitute against Leicester City Football club. Manchester United would go on to be beat 5-3 with left back Tyler Blackett being sent off. A perfect opportunity for the new left back people would cry out.
27th September 2014
Luke Shaw would make his full competitive debut for Manchester United on this date at Old Trafford wearing the number 3 shirt. He would play again West Ham United. Manchester United would win 2-1 with the starting line up being as follows: 1. D. De Gea, 2. R. Da Silva, 33. P. McNair, 5. M. Rojo, 3. L. Shaw, 17. D. Blind, 21. A. Herrera (25. A. Valencia), 7. A. Di Maria (39. T. Thorpe), 10. W. Rooney🟥, 20. R. Van Persie, 9. R. Falcao (24. D. Fletcher).
8th February 2015
Luke Shaw would find himself with his first red card for Manchester United in the return fixture of his debut. He would receive his second yellow in extra time with the clock reading 90+3’. Manchester United had just scored to equalize the score.
First season review
Luke Shaw made 16 appearances for Manchester United in the premier league during his debut season with only 7 being from start to finish, would have been 8 if he didn’t get sent off in the final minute. He played 1127 minutes.
He made 4 appearances in the FA cup resulting in 184 minutes. And he played 45 minutes in the under 23’s. He only had one assist which was for the under 23’s.
He played twice for England during the European qualifiers, he played both matches from start to finish with him earning himself an assist during the second match which was against Switzerland.
Luke missed 14 premier league matches due to injury, he was an unused sub for the two matches already mentioned. And he wasn’t in the match day squad for 5 matches that wasn’t through injury.
A rocky start to his time at Manchester United but Louis Van Gaal was sure that Luke would find his feet and tackle his niggling injuries and really find his feet during his second season with the Red Devil’s.
Second season – 2015/16
Premier league
Luke would play the first 5 matches for Manchester United in the premier league during the 15/16 season. He would get an assist during the 2-1 defeat to Swansea, but he would play the full 90 for all those matches.
Champions league qualifiers
Luke would play the full 90 in both of Manchester United champions league qualifiers against Club Brugge.
Champions League
On the 15th of September 2015 Luke Shaw would be in the starting 11 for his first real champions league match. The line-up would be as follows: 1. D. De Gea, 36. M. Darmian, 12. C. Smalling, 17. D. Blind, 23. L. Shaw, 31. B. Schweinsteiger, 21. A. Herrera, 18. A. Young, 8. J. Mata, 7. M. Depay, 9. A. Martial. Manchester United’s opponents would be PSV Eindhoven. Manchester United would lose 2-1 but the match wouldn’t be remembered for that.
Career Ending Injury?
15 minutes after kicking off Hector Moreno would bring down a 20-year-old Luke Shaw who was running through to goal. Immediately Moreno knew it was bad having suffered an injury like it only a year before. There would be no punishment for Moreno even though Luke Shaw would require 10 minutes of on the pitch treatment to eventually be taken off the pitch on a stretcher requiring oxygen.
It was thought that initially Luke had injured his ankle. However with the broadcaster not wanting to show replays of the tackle how could we be sure. During half time it was said that although Moreno caught the call Luke should have got a penalty at least and possibly a red card because even if there was no malice it was dangerous okay that ended up with a player being carried off the pitch on a stretcher requiring at least an X-Ray and who knows what else.
53 minutes after the tackle Luke Shaw tweets “thank you everyone for your messages, words can’t describe how gutted I am, my road to recovery starts now, I will come back stronger” as of this moment fans are still unsure exactly what injury Luke has sustained.
After the match it was confirmed that Luke Shaw was suffered a break to his right tibia and fibula, Louis Van Gaal had hoped he wouldn’t need more than 6 months out but admits he’s no doctor so couldn’t say how long it would take.
Second season review
I really feel for Luke here, he was finding his stride and it almost feel intentional, he sadly wouldn’t go on to play another minute for united or England this season meaning he misses out on the euros. Luke posts pictures on his Instagram of his recovery journey throughout and it looks promising.
Third Season – 2016/17
Community Shield
Luke would play 69 minutes in the first match under new manager Jose Mourinho in which United would beat Leicester 2-1. Not bad for someone who hadn’t played for almost a year.
Premier League
During the first 10 matches of the 2016/17 season Luke played in 7 of them if you count the fact he made a 1-minute appearance against Liverpool out of the 630 minutes available during those 7 matches he played 526. The three he missed he wasn’t on the bench for, and it wasn’t due to injury, I suspect new manager Jose Mourinho was concerned about rushing him back into every match after such a horrific injury. Luke would go on to miss the next 9 matches due to a groin injury. He would miss the next 6 even though Mourinho confirmed he was fit. Luke would play 70 minutes for the first time in 5 months to be dropped to the bench again the match after and not be in the squad the match after that. Out of the next 540 available minutes Luke would only play 95 with 3 of those matches being an unused sub. Luke would miss the last 4 matches with a foot injury.
Europa League
Luke would again miss a large portion of Manchester United’s Winning run in the Europa League, including the final. He would play half of the group stages and he wouldn’t then be named in the squad until the quarter finals against RSC Anderlecht where he would be an unused substitute during the first leg, and he would play the full 120 minutes in the second leg that saw Manchester United go through to the semi-finals. However he was a part of the squad which means he did get a medal for that trophy.
FA Cup
Out of the 4 matches Manchester United played in this competition Luke Shaw played 90 minutes and was an unused substitute in another. He was not in the squad for the other two.
EFL Cup
Manchester United would win the EFL this year however Luke would only play one full match and half a match on another. The media was concerned that Luke had fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho however he stated it was as simple as is team was playing well and he was happy with his defence.
Third season review
A season people hoped Luke would succeed in after that horrific injury however he just couldn’t get a run of matches and it wasn’t helped with Jose Mourinho making comments about his weight. The Media focused on Luke’s eating habits rather than why his manager wasn’t playing him Mourinho stated his defence was playing well but they came 6th and yes they got titles but surely if Luke was available and you’re not winning you’d at least try him. People were really questioning what Manchester United had paid almost £30 million for.
Fourth season – 2017/18
Super Cup
Luke Shaw missed the super cup final again Real Madrid due to a foot injury that he attained at the end of the previous season. Manchester United did end up losing this match 2-1.
Premier League
Luke Shaw didn’t make his first premier league appearance for Manchester United until game week 17 however he was on the bench for game week 12 and 16. He was then on the bench for the next two matches before going on a run of 4 matches, 2 more on the bench before playing another 90 minutes and then he was back on the bench for another 2 matches. He played 23 minutes in game week 29 and that was it until game week 35. He then wasn’t in the squad until the last three matches. United came second losing 7 matches with Luke being on the pitch for 1 of those. He was on the bench for 3 of those loses. Luke did miss the first 2 matches due to a foot injury that he had from the previous season but other than that he didn’t miss any more through injury.
Champions League
During Manchester United’s run to the last 16 Luke only played the final match of the group stage. He was on the bench for the previous two matches. People questioned whether Luke would have been useful against Sevilla who eventually beat United 2-1 and knocked United out.
FA Cup
Luke played in the first 4 matches of Manchester United FA Cup run which saw them be beat in the final by Chelsea. He played the full 90 in the first 3 and then 45 in the fourth. He was not in the squad in the semi-final or the final.
EFL Cup
Luke played in all 3 of United’s matches in the EFL Cup if you count his 3 minutes against Swansea. His only full 90 in the competition came against Bristol city who won 2-1 knocking United out of the competition.
Fourth season review
Again another choppy season for Luke where he missed out on the World Cup, and we all know if he had a run Southgate would have picked him which could have been good for his confidence. Jose made a tonne of comments regarding Luke and his professionalism which has surely got something to do with how little game time Luke got this season. Could he have gotten more game time under a different manager?
Fifth Season – 2018/19
Premier League
Luke started his season with his first senior goal to give united their win on the opening day. He would play the first 4 matches of the season missing the 5th through concussion he attained on international duty. He would play the next 7 missing match week 13 due to yellow card suspension due to having 5 out of the first 12 matches. He would then play 72’ before being taken off with a knock and missing the next 3 matches. Luke would then start the second half of the season missing only 1 out of 15 under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he would get another 5 yellow cards meaning he missed the next two matched due to suspension. He would come back into the team straight after his suspension and in the 89th minute he would get another yellow card. He would not be involved in the final match of the season. In total Luke received 11 yellow cards, 4 assists and 1 goal in the premier league. Even though United sacked their manager before the Christmas, new year run they still managed to finish 6th with the difference being only 6 points between 3rd and 6th.
Champions League
Manchester United played 10 matches in the Champions League with Luke with only missing 2, 1 through a knock which he received in the premier league and the other through a suspension due to receiving 3 yellow cards. He received those yellow card in three consecutive matches. One of them being in the match that a lot of football fans will know about that night in Paris.
FA Cup
Luke played in 3 out of 4 of Manchester United’s matches in the FA cup including the loss against wolves where he got an assist. These matches were played after the new manager came in.
International
Luke was recalled by Manager Gareth Southgate for the UEFA Nations League however he only played 53 minutes. Missing 2 games due to injury and he was on the bench for the third.
On the 5th of September 2018 Luke was on international duty and he gave a prematch interview with the media regarding his time under Jose Mourinho and how his diet has changed drastically by bringing in a nutritionist, however the focal point of that interview was when Luke was asked about how he was able to pull himself through the dark points of his injury and he stated he relied on his family and friends but that sometimes he did think about quitting not just when he was injured but the time after too. He stated one of his motivations is that one day he wants to be recognised as one of the best left backs in the world, flash forward to 2021 and I can tell 3 years ago Luke that it has happened.
One of the reporters was asking about Luke saying he had wanted to quit, and Luke confirmed that wasn’t because of any negative comments it was because of how serious his injury was, it was because whilst trying to recover from his broken leg he felt static as he kept doing the same thing and he was still limited with the type of injury he had. The reporter asks if there was any doubt from doctors on whether Luke would play again, and he replies that what no-one knows is that he almost lost his leg and that he only found that out 6 months later. He states that almost 3 years later from the initial injury it feels stronger and that he’s ready to go. sadly Luke would get concussion during the match the next day.
Fifth season review
Luke managed to get a good run of games even before Jose Mourinho was sacked, he was physically carrying more weight than he previously had which he was addressing with his nutritionist, but he was still able to play 90 minutes frequently, this makes me question why Jose was mentioning his weight the previous season. You could really see that Luke found his confidence more when Ole took over and he himself has credited this to Ole and his man management. He was also rewarded with a new contract on October 18th which keeps him at the club until June 2023.
Sixth season – 2019/2020
Premier League
Luke played the full first two matches of the season but unfortunately had to be brought off at 34 minutes in the third match with a hamstring injury. He missed the next 10 matches to that injury however he did get straight back into the squad, he started with 11 minutes, then it was 3’ and then it was 5 matches of 90’. He then played 1 minute on game week 20. He played the full 90 the next match where united lost 2-0 and Luke was dropped for the next game. Luke played 87’ and the 21’ of the next two match which Manchester United lost, he then played 10 matches of 90’ in a row and then sadly came off at 75’ in the 11th game due to an ankle injury. The ankle injury sadly made Luke miss the last 3 matches in the season. Manchester United managed to get to third this season and secured themselves champions league which surely secured more match time for Luke right?
Europa League
Luke missed the first 4 of the group stages matches due to the hamstring injury he got playing in the 3rd match of the premier league. He played one out of the remaining two matches that one being the only one that United lost the whole group stage. He then played the next 3 matches before missing the last 3 due to injury. United would sadly lose out in the semi-final to Sevilla.
FA Cup
Luke missed the first match due to illness and was rested for the replay however he did play the next 3 matches and he got a goal and an assist in the fifth round against Derby County. He then missed the semi-final against Chelsea through an ankle injury which United lost.
EFL Cup
Luke missed the third and fourth round due to his hamstring injury, he then played against Colchester United Football Club in the quarter finals, he missed out on the semi-final first leg against Manchester City through illness which United lost 3-1 meaning they needed to win 2-0 next leg which they failed to do. He did manage to play again in the second leg.
Sixth season review
Luke was unlucky to the get injuries he did during this season and sadly it feels like had Luke not gotten ill United could have gotten further in certain tournaments. He didn’t play fantastic during this season and sadly it made the manager look at another left back bringing in Alex Telles during the transfer window. Every United fan was hoping that Luke would use the summer and the arrival of Telles to push him further and to finally reach the potential that he had when he was signed at 18. This season was halted with the pandemic, and it turned out to be a very short summer, United only had one preseason match and the question on everyone’s lips was how this would affect United’s start of the season.
Seventh season – 2020/21
Premier League
Whilst United’s season didn’t start very well Luke managed to get a run of 6 games without being subbed or benched and sadly 67 minutes into the 7th game Luke pulled his hamstring again, would this be a recurring injury throughout his career. Luke only missed 3 matched taking the team to game week 10. Out of the next 28 matches Luke was benched for 2 and was rested for the final. He got 5 assists, another goal and 8 yellow cards in total through the season. As much as Telles hoped he would displace Luke from the starting 11 he barely got a look in only really playing when Luke was injured, Luke played very well with people claiming him to be the best left back in the league. Luke was dubbed Shawberto Carlos during this season because he not only was tight defensively, but he also gained his confidence in going forward again just like how he played before his leg break. Could we finally be seeing the Luke Shaw people hoped for?
Champions League
Luke played in first 3 matches in the group stages missing the next 2 due to his hamstring injury, he then played the final match against RB Leipzig which United lost meaning they didn’t get out of the group stages and would be playing in the Europa League.
Europa League
Luke was on the bench for the intermediate matches then he played 16 minutes of the last 16 first leg, he then played the whole of the second leg, he played 45 minutes of the quarter finals first leg and was rested for the second leg. He then played the whole of the first leg of the semi-final whilst only playing half of the second leg. He played the full 120 minutes of the final in which Manchester United saw themselves being beaten by Villarreal on penalties.
EFL Trophy
Luke didn’t play in any of the EFL matches which saw Alex Telles getting some minutes.
EFL Cup
Luke missed the first two matches and played 6 minutes in the quarter finals; he played the full 90 in the semi-final against Manchester City which saw United being knocked out with City winning 2-0.
FA Cup
Luke was rested the first match of the FA Cup, playing the full 90 in the fourth round which was against Liverpool and United won 3-2. He then didn’t play more than 30 minutes in the next two matches. United were beat by Leicester 3-1 who then went on to win the trophy.
Internationals
Luke was rested in 2 out of 3 of the World Cup Qualifiers that England played. When he did play he played the full 90 and got an assist. Should he go to the euros was the question the media was asking, with others saying who would replace him with the season he’s had.
Luke was recalled for the final friendly before the Euros in which England beat Romania 1-0, he played 74 minutes which was probably because he’d not long played 120 minutes in the Europa League final.
EUROS 2020
Luke was on the bench for England for the first match of their euros 2020 campaign, he then played the final two matches of the group stages that saw England going through to the round of 16 top of the group, this had then draw Germany as the next match. He was probably the first name on the team sheet seeing him play the full 90 minutes and get an assist in a match that made history, with England winning and getting through to the quarter finals. Luke played 65 minutes of the quarter finals but that was enough time to get two assists and ensure that England still didn’t concede. Luke played the full 120 minutes of the semi-final seeing England make history and get into a final for the first time in 55 years.
EUROS FINAL
Luke Shaw, where do we start with Luke Shaw in this match. Not only was this match history but Luke then and made history himself. He scored his first England goal in a final no biggy right? What about if I say it’s in the first 2 minutes? Yeah Luke Paul Hoare Shaw scored his first international goal in the first final for his country in 55 years in 1 minute and 57 seconds. That’s amazing. I forget to mention this final was the night before his 26th birthday what a present. Sadly England would go all the way to penalties and would be beaten by Italy but it’s okay because Luke played well, and the World Cup is only 18 months away.

Calacus Weekly Hit & Miss – Burnley FC & Golf Breakaway (& ESL)
Every Monday we look at the best and worst communicators in the sports world from the previous week.
HIT – BURNLEY FC
One of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the absence of fans from sporting events.
Lockdown has meant empty stadia with canned crowd noise piped in for television audiences only.
Premier League games have been behind closed doors since last December, when a handful of games had up to 2,000 fans in attendance before the UK went back into full lockdown.
Some pilot events, such as the Carabao Cup final at Wembley where Manchester City and Tottenham each had 2,000 fans in attendance, have since been held to test the safe return of spectators.
From 17 May, outdoor sports venues in England are due to be allowed up to 10,000 fans or 25% capacity, whichever figure is lower, with final UK government approval announced no later than 10 May.
The Premier League confirmed on Wednesday that no away supporters will be permitted to attend matches for the final two rounds of the 2020/21 season.
There has been criticism of some clubs, with Tottenham Hostpur charging up to £60 a ticket once fans can return.
But Burnley have taken the opposite approach, announcing plans to distribute free tickets to 3,500 fans for their final home game of the season against Liverpool on May 19.
The Clarets will make the ballot available to all supporters who have renewed their season tickets for next season, with successful applicants encouraged to make a donation to NHS Charities Together.
Chairman Alan Pace said: “This fixture is opportunity to reward our loyal season ticket holders who have shown incredible support to the club throughout the pandemic.
“We have therefore decided to make tickets for this fixture free of charge. If supporters are able to, the club is encouraging successful applications in the ballot to consider making a donation to the NHS charities.”
Burnley manager Sean Dyche certainly believes that having fans back will boost his team and football in general.
He added: ““It’s been a tough year for everyone and now it’s about ‘can we come out of it and move forward?’ To see football fans in a ground in my world and the football world be a really good sign of things getting back to normal.”
MISS – GOLF BREAKAWAY & ESL
No sooner has the dust settled on football’s Super League than some of the biggest names in golf are being tempted to join the ‘World Tour’ despite threats to ban them from the professional game.
Players including world No 1 Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose have been offered contracts worth up to $100m to take part in a breakaway event, and the authorities have been quick to warn those who take part.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monagan has told participants that they would face an instant suspension and a lifetime ban with The Daily Telegraph reporting that others who have been offered contracts include Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Rickie Fowler.
Backed by Saudi Arabian investors and fronted by Majed al-Sorour, the chief executive of Golf Saudi, the ‘World Tour’ would feature individual and team formats over 12 to 18 events with a suggested launch in September 2022.
European Tour chief executive, Keith Pelley, issued a statement condemning the proposals.
He said: “We are aligned with the PGA Tour in opposing, in the strongest possible terms, any proposal for an alternative golf league.
"Since the launch of our strategic alliance last November, our two organisations have been working together to make global golf less fractured and not create further division, with the interests of all players and fans at the forefront of our thinking."
Rory McIlroy, who chairs the Players Advisory Committee on the PGA Tour, also criticised the plans and believes the traditions of the game are being forgotten.
McIlroy commented: “It's a competitive threat. I don't think there's a better structure in place in golf, and I don't think there will be," McIlroy said.
"Go back to what happened last week in Europe with the European Super League in football. People can see it for what it is, which is a money grab, which is fine if what you're playing golf for is to make as much money as possible. Totally fine, then go and do that if that's what makes you happy.
"I'm playing this game to try to cement my place in history and my legacy and to win major championships and to win the biggest tournaments in the world.
“And the possibility is that people, if they do go in that direction, can't play in the biggest tournaments in the game? The game of golf, whether it's a right thing or a wrong thing, is so about history.
“If you move further away from that, you're basically losing the essence of what competitive golf is."
This story is going to run and run and it remains to be seen how strong the proposals really are, with the organisers yet to make an official statement.
Meanwhile, UEFA has made an other positive step to move on from the European Super League debacle by announcing fines for nine of the clubs that were involved in the breakaway.
In a statement UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said: “I said at the Uefa congress two weeks ago that it takes a strong organisation to admit making a mistake, especially in these days of trial by social media. These clubs have done just that.
"In accepting their commitments and willingness to repair the disruption they caused, Uefa wants to put this chapter behind it and move forward in a positive spirit.
"These clubs recognised their mistakes quickly and have taken action to demonstrate their contrition and future commitment to European football.”
The nine clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, plus AC Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid - have committed to the European governing body and its competitions and will make a combined 15m euros goodwill contribution to benefit children's and grassroots football across Europe.
They will also have 5% of UEFA competition revenues withheld for one season, starting in 2023-24, and this money will be redistributed, including in the UK.
However, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are set to face "appropriate action" under Uefa's disciplinary process.
Ceferin added: “The same cannot be said for the clubs that remain involved in the so-called Super League and Uefa will deal with those clubs subsequently."
Needless to say, those three powerhouses of European fooball, whose ambitious spending is clearly at the heart of their financial struggles, issued a defiant statement suggesting that they are being victimised for refusing to withdraw from the ESL project.
The joint statement read: “The founding clubs have suffered, and continue to suffer, unacceptable third-party pressures, threats, and offenses to abandon the project and therefore desist from their right and duty to provide solutions to the football ecosystem via concrete proposals and constructive dialogue.
“We would be highly irresponsible if, being aware of the needs and systemic crisis in the football sector, which led us to announce the Super League, we abandoned such mission to provide effective and sustainable answers to the existential questions that threaten the football industry.
“For the good of football and for the financial sustainability of the sector, we have the duty to act in a responsible manner and persevere in the pursuit of adequate solutions, despite the unacceptable and ongoing pressures and threats received from UEFA.”
Delusional is one word that comes to mind from the tone and content of the statement, criticising the governance of football and the other clubs that have now fallen back into line with no hint of regret or apology in sight.
It will be interesting to see what punishments UEFA hands out - three of the biggest clubs in football being banned from European club competitions for one season would certainly not be a surprise.

Injury packed season for Liverpool
HI reds and welcome back to my blog in todays blog I'm going to give an update on players that are injured for the club and also how long we will be without them for. Due to the amount of injuries we as a club have had there's no doubt tit will have taken an effect on how we play on the pitch with some of our key players out for some time.
Lets start with the biggest problem we have had this year due to injury and it is non other than or leading centre back Virgil Van Dyke since coming to Liverpool from Southampton he has been a stand out player for Liverpool and a key player in our champions league winning season and also the premier league triumph. He has sadly been out of action since the Liverpool vs Everton game at the start of the season due to damage his ACL this has impacted Liverpool's performances both physically and I believe mentally, however he is expected to come back within the next month so the future is looking bright for our defensive issues.
If you think Virgil Van dyke being injured is the worst it could be for Liverpool then turn away now because it gets a lot worse very fast with the likes of players still injured such as Naby Kieta out for another month , Joe Gomez still out for 2 moths , new signing Diego jota still injured for another month and finally Joel matip out for up to 6 months still. these are just a list of the players that are still injured however below is a list of players who have had injuries through out the season and returned thankfully.
3 days ago: Alisson Becker returned after 5 days out injured (Illness)
4 days ago: Fabinho returned after 11 days out injured (Muscle)
22 days ago: Joel Matip returned after 24 days out injured (Groin)
46 days ago: James Milner returned after 29 days out injured (Hamstring)
53 days ago: Joel Matip returned after 7 days out injured (Back)
55 days ago: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned after 122 days out injured (Muscle)
67 days ago: Trent Alexander-Arnold returned after 29 days out injured (Hamstring)
67 days ago: Naby Keïta returned after 14 days out injured (Hamstring)
78 days ago: Mohammed Salah returned after 12 days out injured (Covid)
82 days ago: Fabinho returned after 25 days out injured (Leg)
95 days ago: Joel Matip returned after 22 days out injured (Muscle)
110 days ago: Alisson Becker returned after 22 days out injured (Muscle)
120 days ago: Xherdan Shaqiri returned after 10 days out injured (Covid)
122 days ago: Sadio Mane returned after 10 days out injured (Covid)
126 days ago: Joel Matip returned after 18 days out injured (Muscle)
127 days ago: Thiago Alcantara returned after 9 days out injured (Covid)
130 days ago: Jordan Henderson returned after 14 days out injured (Muscle)
136 days ago: Joe Gomez returned after 8 days out injured (Muscle)
180 days ago: Jordan Henderson returned after 38 days out injured (Knee)
221 days ago: James Milner returned after 11 days out injured (Muscle)
As you can see Liverpool have not had the best of luck with injuries this season and haven't had a great run like last year in the premier league however we need to take into perspective that for half the season we have been half a team and yet still sitting in 4th place and still have wins over the likes of Tottenham who we beet in both fixtures this season and also wins over the likes of west ham ,crystal palace and wolves so even though this season hasn't gone as well as we would have hoped for there is still a determination from Klopp and his men to achieve something this season.
so lets just keep calm and support the team we all love

SRH purchased seven players in the public sale but they hardly made any massive bids. They purchased the India Under-19 skipper Priyam Garg along with home talent Virat Singh.
Abdul Samad, the teenager from Jammu and Kashmir, might be dropped from the SRH squad for this IPL season. During the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Abdul made his T20 debut for Jammu and Kashmir. Sunrisers Hyderabad must trim one player from their squad in order to fulfil requirement of 24-member team.
The Sunrisers won their maiden IPL title under the leadership of Warner in the 2016 season, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs within the final. Since that season, the staff has certified for the play-off stage of the event in every version. When it comes to the franchises, then solely Kings XI Punjab , Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have greater than 24 gamers in their squad. RCB match schedule that they should go away considered one of their players behind before leaving for the match.
They reached the playoffs in 2017 and 2019 as well while they ended the league levels on the top of the desk and reached the final in 2018. And will be hoping to lastly lay their arms on the trophy for the second time.
While Bhuvi takes up one slot, Khaleel Ahmed is the following candidate who likely performs all of the matches for the team. Last season, the teenager did properly for the franchise, and a little bit of variety along with his left-armers is anyways good to have within the XI.
They additionally added the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Fabian Allen as international recruits. Speaking about Sunrisers, it was based in 2012 after IPL terminated the Hyderabad-primarily based Deccan Chargers. SRH is currently captained by David Warner and coached by Trevor Bayliss.
Despite retaining most of their core players, the group selected to trade Shikhar Dhawan, Vijay Shankar, and Shahbaz Nadeem. In a bid to add depth of their batting division, the team purchased Jonny Bairstow, Wriddhiman Saha, and Martin Guptill during the public sale. Abhishek Sharma has the opportunity to take his recreation to the subsequent stage in IPL 2020. While a glimpse of his batting exploits has already been on show, if the Punjab cricketer can do properly with the ball, SRH can afford to play an additional batsman at the top.
The official schedule for Indian Premier League was released by the IPL governing council on Sunday. While Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings within the opening recreation of the brand new season on March 29, Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first game against the defending champions on April 1. However, there is no official confirmation on the entire schedule of the 13th version of the Indian Premier League . They won the IPL title in 2016 and that was after ending third on the factors table and they're the only staff to take action.
It does probably not matter if you don’t have the ‘C’ subsequent to your name.’’ the Australian opening batsman stated. Froome is more typical of the great hill climbers of the past
We are in an era (partly created by Donal g himself) when players are more visible than ever and yet less well known. I pass Alan Brogan's face on billboards 100 times a day, but have no real impression of what sort of fella he is beyond the impression he gives with his play. (Speaking of county boards and jerseys, Alan's father, Bernard, finished his Dublin career by being taken to hospital having been creeled in a game against Kildare.

Many first time campers at Rocky Gap seeking to get away from it all are horrified when they enter the park and see the sprawling complex before them. cheap nfl jerseys Take heart: planners had the good sense to at least build the resort and golf course on the other side of Lake Habeeb from the campgrounds. wholesale jerseys from china
Cheap Jerseys from china The home side rallied and Cameron Jerome struck after a knockdown from Nikola Zigic before Liam Ridgewell pounced on a rebound to equalise. It was a result that scarcely seemed possible when the Hammers scored twice after the break to put themselves on course for a first away success in the Premier League since the opening day of the 2009 10 campaign. https://www.wholesalejerseyslan.com/ They played some fine, flowing football but Birmingham have proved themselves tough to beat at home and raised their game considerably, with a series of cross field balls aimed towards giant striker Zigic causing the east Londoners considerable problems.
There was little hint of the excitement of the second half during a largely disappointing opening 45 minutes. The on pitch water sprinklers provided a moment of comedy after three minutes, appearing from beneath the playing surface in one half of the pitch and dousing several players and 25 year old referee Michael Oliver.Play stopped for more than a minute while the problem was rectified and it was the most noteworthy incident until Foster's athletic save after 18 minutes.Victor Obinna's right wing cross was flicked on by Behrami and Cole showed excellent reflexes to guide the ball towards the bottom corner, but Foster demonstrated great agility to deflect the ball against the post. The ball ran agonisingly across the face of goal from a West Ham point of view before it was put out for a corner.Cole, one of two changes to Hammers boss Avram Grant's starting line up from the side that lost at Arsenal, wrong footed Foster with a shot on the turn before the break but his connection was poor and the keeper was able to readjust his position.
Grant claimed during the week that he had been encouraged by the quality of his team's performances despite winning only once in the league this season going into Saturday's fixture. He must have been pleased by their dominance during the first half, nfl jerseys but concerned by their failure to turn possession into goals. That changed shortly after the restart when Luis Boa Morte's beautifully weighted through ball carved open the Blues backline and presented Piquionne with a chance that he gratefully accepted. And when Behrami finished an incisive move with his first time finish from 14 yards the match look out of reach for a home team who had showed precious little goal threat.
The match would definitely have been beyond Birmingham if Obinna's powerful strike had not rebounded off the crossbar shortly after the Hammers' second goal. The home side had scored just four in their previous seven top flight fixtures and looked short of confidence in attack.Roger Johnson had headed wide from a corner and Sebastian Larsson had failed to connect with a super Barry Ferguson cross early in the second half, http://www.okcheapjerseys.com/ but they suddenly found another gear after the hour mark. The recalled Jerome struck from close range after Zigic's knockdown and Ridgewell pounced after Rob Green could only parry a free kick from Larsson.
The complexion of the match had changed completely and Zigic shot wide before Gabbidon deflected a goal bound strike from Jerome against the crossbar with his thigh. The Hammers did have a late penalty appeal after Jean Beausejour appeared to tug the shirt of Lars Joacobsen but the decision was not given in their favour.Birmingham manager Alex McLeish: "We are disappointed to drop points at home and I would have taken a draw when we were 2 0 down because it was crucial to take something."We will take a piece of the pie, especially when it looked as though we were down and out."But with a few minutes to go I thought we could have won the game."
West Ham manager Avram Grant on the late penalty appeal: "We came here and played well but it was an undoubted penalty."I saw it on the pitch and I was 50 yards away, the referee was five yards away but he did not give it."You should not make a mistake from five yards. 📌 Match Facts:
The sides have only ever met once before, with Liverpool winning an FA Cup fourth-round tie 4-0 at the Shrews' old Gay Meadow home in February 1996. The Reds went on to reach the final that year.
Shrewsbury are 59 league places below Liverpool.
Shrewsbury's sole win in seven matches in all competitions was their FA Cup second-round replay win over Bristol City (D4, L2).
They have been eliminated from the FA Cup by Premier League opponents in three of the past four seasons: Manchester United in 2015-16, West Ham in 2017-18 and Wolves in 2018-19.
The Shrews have lost just one of their last 17 home FA Cup games (W10, D6).
Shrewsbury have been beaten in only one of their past 12 FA Cup matches (W6, D5).
They have scored just 24 goals from 25 league games - only bottom side Bolton have fewer.
Liverpool have won 11 successive league and cup games under Jurgen Klopp (W7, D4) - this excludes the Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat at Aston Villa, when Neil Critchley led a team of youngsters.
They are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2014-15.
The Reds have won just one of their five most recent FA Cup away fixtures.
Liverpool have scored in their past 11 away FA Cup games since a 1-0 loss at Manchester United in 2011.
Roberto Firmino has scored six goals in his last eight games in all competitions.
This is Shrewsbury's first game vs the champions of the world, can they live up to the challenge?
👏 Thanks to u/PM-Me-Salah-Pics for the Match Facts.
🗣 0': We're under way at New Meadow
🗣 5': Promising start by the home team, albeit without the ball. They are quick in the tackle and Liverpool are having to work hard to find space.
🗣 8': Good possession from Liverpool and here's the first shot as a fortunate bounce after good work by Minamino presents Origi with the opportunity to shoot from distance but his effort is just wide.
⚽️ 15': GOAL Curtis Jones (15') (0-1) - Classy goal that. Quality hold-up play by Minamino and the through-ball from Chirivella is superb. Jones does the rest after making a fine run from deep. No stopping that. Too good.
🗣 20': Chirivella's passing really is impressive. Now he attempts an ambitious chip over O'Leary but it is blocked. The midfielder doing well so far and he has plenty of movement ahead of him
🗣 24': CHANCE! Shrewsbury with a huge opportunity to equalise as Whalley goes through on goal one-on-one with Adrian. He tries to slot it to the goalkeeper's right but Adrian stretches out the foot and keeps it out. Good save but what a chance.
🔁 27': SUB! Norburn cannot continue after that earlier knock and he is replaced by the experienced Edwards. Shame for Norburn but Edwards has vast Premier League experience and an FA Cup win over Liverpool behind him.
🗣 34': Shrewsbury pushing forward is giving Liverpool the chance to find a bit more space of their own. But then it's Whalley on the counter-attack himself, lifting a ball over the head of Matip only to see Adrian race off his line to deny him.
🗣 39': Cross from Chirivella doesn't quite fall for Origi and Minamino gets his shot with the outside of his right foot horribly wrong.
🗣 (HT) from New Meadow; STFC 0-1 Liverpool
⚽️ GOAL! Donald Love's an Own Goal 45' (0-2) That has silenced the stadium. The cross comes in from the right and Love tries to just knock the ball behind for a corner but he gets it all wrong. The ball comes off the toe of his boot and goes right into the corner of the net. Horrible moment for him.
🗣 58': SAVE! Lang is away down the right channel and he's one-on-one with Adrian but again the goalkeeper saves, tipping the low shot just wide of the post. Good stop that
⚽️ GOAL! Cummings (65' Pen) (1-2)
🔁 70': SUB Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces Harvey Elliott
⚽️ GOAL! Cummings (74') (2-2)
🔁 79': SUB Mo Salah replaces Joel Matip
🔁 83': Udoh replaces Where's Whalley
🔁 83' Firmino replaces Minamino
