After waiting for forever, I finally got my third PPG comic in the mail (the last one I’m buying because I just think they kind of suck and they’re doing the thing I hate with blending in the OG and reboot series as if they’re the same thing), and… while I will probably do a dedicated post about it, I just have to rant about one thing I noticed while skimming through the issue…

It can be funny when people draw fanart and stuff and it includes one of the girls cursing or something (I have done this… of course, I censored Blossom’s horrible, terrible utterance, but more on that later). That’s fanart, that’s not canon material. But this iteration of Buttercup is (allegedly) canon, and is (allegedly) in kindergarten! They had an entire episode about this on the show where they started cursing and the Professor was mortified by it! Even if she actually did curse in canon, I’m sure he would be chastising her! I think it would make more sense if she had said “stuffing” or “poop” (which is what I revealed Blossom actually said in the tags of the aforementioned art I made 😆) or something else that was more along the lines of what a little kid would say if they wanted to really push it and say a “bad” word. Again, not opposed to no curses in the comics if it feels right: IIRC, Mojo said “hell” in the issue before this, but he’s a villain and that feels like something he might actually say. This just feels so out of character and out of the universe.

…it would also help if she had said “out of” instead of just “out” but… still…

…anyway, mini rant, sorry. It just irritated me. 🤣
