Frosty Reviews Idiocracy
This is one of those movies that people kept telling me I needed to watch because it seemed like a movie I’d like. Now that I have seen it I have no idea how this movie escaped me before now. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I even knew it existed and I just never saw it available anywhere. It must have been pretty low budget and didn’t have the marketing power behind it but even still it seems to have a cult following. I like most everything Mike Judge does so it should have been a no brainer.
It’s a dumb comedy but if a dumb comedy was a fairly accurate speculative dystopia. The idea is people are just going to keep getting dumber and dumber until one day a know nothing dumbass from our time would be considered the smartest man in the world. Part of the reason for the speculation is the idea that stupid people reproduce a lot while smart people reproduce very little. I have a bit of an issue with this reasoning…I think not reproducing is more of a midwit thing than a smart people thing. People smart enough to use protection when they are not ready…but not smart enough to figure out the benefits of a larger family and to be able to create the wealth to provide for it. The dumbing down of the world thanks to the fact that dumb people breed more is just part of the picture and the movie never really tackled the fact that we’re being dumbed down on purpose with drugs, porn, shitty education, lies, constant mindless media distractions, fluoridated water etc.
I bet if the movie was made or remade today social media especially stuff like tik tok would be prominantly featured, it’s kind of a real shame it’s not there because it would have been so perfect. I can so easily picture scenes where there’s some serious problem they need to address and the characters are just in the background doing tik tok dances instead.
I thought the movie was pretty funny but the funniest thing to me was the backstory behind the footwear. The movie was obviously super low budget which is a shame because otherwise I think this could have been a much better and more widely known and loved movie. At times the shitty backgrounds took me out of it a little. It was so low budget Mike Judge was dealing with some wardrobe stuff himself and when he was looking for footwear he asked for ugly shoes that they might wear in a future where everyone is retarded. He specifically asked that they be sure not to use anything that might become popular…the shoes they used for the movie were crocs and the wardrobe woman assured him they were so ugly there was no way they would ever become popular.
At times the joke felt like it was stretched a little thin, the premise was funny and many of the jokes were funny but there was times it felt like…maybe a whole movie wasn’t needed for this joke. The specifics of the plot were kind of inconsequential and I never felt really invested in any of the characters enough to care what happened to anyone. Particularly Dax Sheppard…I can’t stand the fucking guy but I do have to say he was cast perfectly for the role I totally believed him as a brain dead dipshit.
Most of the jokes were running gags one of my favourites was the way that the Fuddruckers restaurant slowly changed its name to buttfuckers. The whole movie isn’t just dumbasses laughing at people getting hit in the balls 24/7 there’s a subtle genius to the humour. The way the fat uninterested Costco employee greets them all by saying “welcome to costco I love you” says so much about the future he’s painting a picture of. A dehumanizing mega corporation that doesn’t even bother trying to appear like it cares and just pays an employee to just lie directly to you…stripped of all nuance and subtletey. It says they have to try less because people are too stupid to see it for what it is. There’s just something about a faceless corporation pretending to give a shit about you that feels so offputting and dystopian. I once got a birthday email from my bank and it kinda made me want to find out who was in charge of that decision and go take a shit on their desk. You’re not a fucking person don’t talk to me like you’re a person.
Some of his predictions are right on although he was wrong about Costco being the main megastore that eats up everything else and tries to be the one and only store, this was made before Amazon became basically what he was predicting costco would be. And he also rightfully predicts an oversexualization of society…his examples are silly like starbucks becoming a place where you get handjobs but it does seem like as things get shittier more and more people are resorting to some kind of sex work. I’ve never been on twitch because the idea of watching people play video games makes me a rage, but im told it’s basically impossible to use it without seeing half naked women turn it into some kind of erotic content.
I also thought the movie displayed the dunning krueger effect pretty well. Initially the main character who is from the past and is thus the smartest person alive is treated like the dumbest person they’ve ever seen…becuase they were too stupid to recognize how stupid they are so even basic common sense looked and sounded retarded to them.
In many ways we already live in the idiocracy, we’re getting dumber and we reward shitty dumb behaviour. The movie was essentially a reduction to absurdity of a real phenomena that’s only gotten a lot worse since it was written. The political pageantry was especially prescient because we’re currently watching a shit show involving a former and probably future president that’s actually been on WWE before.
Idiocracy was a good blend of dumb nonsense movie and intelligent satire. Definitely worth at least one watch despite the sometimes horrible cgi and somewhat lagging lackluster plot. It’s funny and it definitely holds up.

That prepper stuff is actually quick popular. Even Costco sells it. So crazy people stockpiling food when other people going hungry. Like just donate it to a food bank already.
I just cannot.
I have no desire. Nor the time, selfishness, or audacity to do any of that.
We have an emergency kit that has a first aid kit, flashlights, battery pack, and snacks/water for like 1-2 days. But that’s really as far as I’m willing to go and that’s mostly because I grew up in hurricane land where we’d lose power for days.

The last couple of weeks have been exceptionally bonkers in Washington. The U.S. government was THIS close to shutting down. A Democratic senator got indicted (again). House Republicans kicked out their own party’s speaker, for the first time in history, and now there’s nobody in charge and the chamber can’t do any business.
Our politics can feel so broken sometimes that, at a certain point, you have to take a step back and laugh. Because the truth is, there is always absurdity lurking in the halls of Congress, even in the most serious of moments, and finding its way into big decisions being made by some of the nation’s most powerful people.
Like gold bars.
When Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) was indicted two weeks ago on bribery charges, we learned that he had bars of gold hidden around his house.
Are we living in a cartoon? Aren’t gold bars what villains try to steal from banks in old episodes of “Scooby Doo”? I googled it, and of course there’s an episode called “Gold Paw” where Scooby and Shaggy, probably fueled up on Scooby snacks, stumble upon a room FILLED with bars of gold that a villain had stored away.
This was what I was thinking about in the hallways of the U.S. Senate last week, as reporters chased down Democratic senators to ask if Menendez should resign, if they plan to refer him to the Ethics Committee, what it means for U.S. foreign policy that the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for aiding the Egyptian government. These are all important questions.
But also, who peddles in alleged crimes in exchange for bars of gold? Did this veteran Democratic senator really google “how much is one kilo of gold worth” amid all of this alleged criming? That is a legitimate Scooby Doo-level poor decision.
I talked to senators about what they thought of Menendez and his gold bars. I asked if they happened to have any lying around at their own houses, or if they’d ever gone online to research the value of a bar of gold for no particular, non-criming reason. Because maybe Menendez is telling the truth that he didn’t do anything wrong, and maybe it’s perfectly normal for U.S. senators to hoard gold bars.
“I was going to buy my own gold bar, you know?” offered Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.). “So I could either go to [Menendez’s] contacts or buy one at Costco.”

Enhance Business Operations with Personalized Checks
The smallest details often have the biggest effects in the economic world. The use of customized checks is one such detail. Like Costco business checks printing, one can print checks from the comfort of home or work. Standard business checks are functional, but customized checks come with several advantages. They can improve a company's operations and efficiency. Personalized checks can be an effective weapon in the financial management toolbox, offering benefits like increased security and better branding.
Tumblr media
The Power of Customization
Personalized checks are a great way to maintain the integrity of your brand. You can create checks that are easily recognized by including the company's colors, logo, and design features. This shows expertise and attention to detail, which increases the exposure of your business. Customers and suppliers will appreciate the extra effort and create stronger business ties. Issuing a customized check makes it very evident that companies are reliable and well-established. Customized checks show that one is serious about their financial responsibilities. This can be crucial when interacting with potential new customers or suppliers who could be evaluating their reputation.
Enhanced Security and Maximized Efficiency
Businesses and individuals should be concerned about security, and customized checks provide an added layer of protection against fraud. Advanced security elements like holograms, watermarks, and microprinting can be added to custom checks. These features ensure the security of financial transactions by making it more difficult for outsiders to change or duplicate checks. Personalized checks can be made with pre-printed information that is often needed, such as a phone number, company address, and bank account information. This eliminates the possibility of mistakes and cuts down on the amount of time required to fill out checks. One can concentrate on other important areas of their business and save a lot of time by simplifying the check-writing process.
Best Online Check Printing Software
It is important to consider many things when choosing an online check printing service to make sure it is the best fit for one's requirements. Primarily, make sure the platform is easy to use and intuitive. A well-thought-out user layout can greatly improve the experience. Additionally, security features are crucial for safeguarding sensitive data and searching for services that have strong security measures. To guarantee a smooth integration, the individual should also confirm that the service is compatible with the payroll and accounting systems currently in place. Cost is still another important consideration; research pricing schemes to identify a solution that satisfies needs without sacrificing features. Finally, to resolve any difficulties quickly and effectively, dependable customer assistance is essential, particularly during the initial setup process.
Conclusion
Customized checks provide companies with two benefits: better branding and more security. The use of corporate logos and colors in checks enhances professionalism and brand identification. Furthermore, advanced security measures prevent fraud and guarantee the security of financial transactions. With pre-printed information, tailored checks facilitate processes, reduce mistakes, and save important time. It's crucial to select an online check printing provider that prioritizes user friendliness, strong security, and dependable customer care. Adopting customized checks is a wise investment for every company, as it increases productivity and strengthens relationships with suppliers and customers.

Safety First, Affordability Always: Why the Kia Sonet is a Smart Choice
With skyrocketing prices across vehicle segments, combining safety and affordability seems near impossible. Yet there are still options for the value-focused buyer unwilling to compromise on safety to stretch their budget.
The Kia Sonet subcompact SUV cars pull off this combination better than most, delivering a modern, well-equipped vehicle with ample safety features at a reasonable price point. For those seeking security without breaking the bank or undercutting needs, the Sonet presents an intriguing proposition worth exploring further.
Staying Safe in Style
The Kia Sonet keeps you protected with some clever safety technology:
ABS, ESC and a Hill Assist system help maintain control by preventing wheel lock-ups, stabilizing the car on turns and keeping you from rolling backwards on inclines.
Airbags surround occupants with safety. There are two front airbags, two side airbags, and two curtain airbags running the length of the cabin—a total of six to cushion you.
The Blind View Monitor is a smart addition, showing the car's sides in the instrument cluster screen. So, you can spot any hazards in the usually unseen blind spots.
Parking is made hassle-free thanks to sensors front and back that beep faster as you near obstacles.
Everyone is reminded to buckle up properly, no matter where they sit. The 3-point seat belts have reminders for all seats.
Disc brakes on each wheel and Emergency Stop Signal technology flash the brake lights for sudden stops to alert others.
Finally, a 360-degree camera gives your eyes all around the car, making driving in tight spots much easier.
The Sonet doesn't compromise on safety - it has all the essential tech to keep you and your loved ones protected.
Affordability of the Kia Sonet
Tumblr media
The Kia Sonet India offers an accessible entry point into the subcompact SUV segment:
Priced between ₹7,99,000 and 15,00,000 lakhs, the Sonet competes with rivals like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon. The Sonet has comparable features to competitors, including under-body protection, a digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, and ventilated seats.
The Kia Sonet offers frugal ownership with impressive fuel economy for the diesel variant. Maintenance costs are also light on the pocket, with service intervals set at 10,000 km or 1 year. Additionally, Kia provides a 3-year Warranty* for unlimited kilometres (T&C applied), ensuring complete peace of mind. The Sonet stands out for its flexible financing options, which are designed to make purchasing easier.
Through partnerships with leading banks, customers can benefit from low-interest loans, deferred payment plans, and buyback guarantees. Down payments can start from as low as ₹25,000*, making the Sonet accessible to a broader range of buyers. Despite its affordability, the Sonet competes well with more expensive rivals by emphasizing value.
The Sonet aims to be an affordable car with good features and driving quality. This balance of affordability and comprehensive offerings makes the Kia Sonet an intelligent choice for those looking for a reliable, economical, and feature-rich SUV. For the latest details and specific offers, it’s always best to check with local Kia dealerships or the official Kia India website.
Space and Power to Suit Your Lifestyle
The Sonet checks the right boxes whether your priority is passengers, cargo, or performance:
With seating for 5, the cabin offers ample room for small families or groups of friends. The rear seats also have their own AC vents and charging ports.
With its class-leading 385-litre capacity, the smartly shaped trunk swallows up luggage. That's plenty for travel or Costco runs. The 60:40 split rear seats fold away to make even more space when required.
The new Kia Sonet offers choices for both power-hungry drivers and practicality-focused buyers. For those wanting maximum thrills, there's a punchy 1.0L GDI turbo-petrol putting out 120PS and 172Nm. Transmission options include a smooth-shifting 6-speed iMT clutchless manual or a quick-witted 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
For city commuting needs, a frugal 1.2L petrol with 83PS and 115Nm comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Finally, the efficient 1.5L diesel balances performance and economy with 116PS and 250Nm on tap, coupled to a 6-speed manual, intelligent MT or conventional 6-speed torque converter automatic. So, whether you need speed or max mileage, the Sonet has an engine-gearbox combination to put a smile on your face.
The Bottom Line
The Kia Sonet hits the spot between safety, affordability, and practicality. With ample safety tech and features, frugal ownership costs, versatile interior space, and capable powertrains, this well-rounded compact SUV makes a compelling case for buyers seeking value without compromise. The Sonet punches above its weight, representing a smart purchase for many.

Days of darkness, days of light
I got a bigger project from my new job, which was good, but as usual, I wasn't as efficient as I'd like at getting through it. Yesterday I determined to power through a big chunk of it, sacrificing some fun. At the same time, there were job applications to work on, and my slow main job suddenly had a few projects in one day, leaving me swamped in a way I hadn't been in a while.
Then there was money. After days of procrastination, it was time to ask my mother for help, as I'd promised my landlord I'd have the full rent by the 10th this month. I texted her; she called me back and expressed much concern about my unstable career and worry about my future. Then we talked about my father. He got the divorce papers. Would consider signing them, but only after going to marriage counseling first. Still texting her a lot, having a hard time letting her go. Apparently that's their main means of communication.
She sent me some money, but the conversation took a while, left me frustrated by her negativity (as well as my own part in getting myself into this situation - the fact that I never got around to saving any money, which would help keep me afloat in times like this, is part of the problem, but it was something I'd planned to start doing by the end of this year), and was followed by worrying troubles with bank transfers and more time on the phone with the bank's customer service, which finally concluded it couldn't resolve the issue until morning, when another department would be available. All this cut deep into the shopping trip I'd been trying to leave for and made getting the fresh slice of Costco pizza I craved impossible; wound up just making a quick run to Target.
Back home and ready to get back to work, I got a text from my father. He said my mother had told him I'd sent him an email weeks ago, but he never got it. I had to focus on work, so I replied a couple of hours later and resent the email hours later still to be sure he wouldn't read it that night because I didn't need the additional worry of his response on my plate that night. I wondered if maybe my message would seem too heated now that the drama between my parents had cooled down somewhat, so I added a preface about the context and otherwise sent it along as it was. I was somewhat relieved that it hadn't been deliberately unread - or its message deliberately rejected - but now I had to go through the burden of worrying about his response all over again, though I wasn't going to get as stressed as last time.
Meanwhile, I got a bunch of flies at home again somehow, and one of them buzzed around my bedroom for hours as I worked and continually failed to kill it. I also just felt kind of crap to begin with due to sleeping too long again. In all, it was an entirely oppressive day.
Today I slept less, took care of some bills, turned off all phone notifications, and went for another free admission day at the botanic garden - again leaving later than intended, but not as late as last time; again parking by the forest preserve, this time with no confusion or wastes of time. Again it was good and healing, though a little hot and humid and at times too cloudy. Some of last month's flowers had started dying, and some new ones had come to life. I wandered some areas I didn't get to last time. Saw some baby deer. Eventually checked my messages and only found one from my mother, who backtracked a bit on yesterday's negativity and said my father had read my email and said he was mentally ill if what I wrote was true. That was the only update I'd get today.
Again I craved pizza, and again it was too late to get it at Costco, and I needed eggs too, but I'd just have to go a day without. Again I'd have to spend most of the night working, but I'd had a nice day, and I felt a sense of lightness and relief.

We have several acquisitions of major companies today they're taking place they're going to focus on trouble areas right now Banks and hospitals in pharmaceutical companies these people are tremendous assholes and they're simple but they're dangerous one of them is John remillard and we can see how dangerous he can be he did brain transplants in the whole realms crashing we're moving on him cuz he tries to do it on just about everybody and we mean it too he's a sick disgusting mutant and he is a person who mangles people. We're going ahead and we're going to remove him from power tomorrow he goes to court and he's going to get nails they don't want him out. And they're going to publicize what the findings are you going to see this a****** Trump show up some places and it should be in jail that's what they're up to they want to see him do that and show him the effect and see if he can figure it out you're ruining yourself you're going to be gone you're going to have no idea and no characters in your brain will be burnt it's already battered mac daddy said the last sentence. So we're going ahead with banks and we're going ahead with hospitals and pharmaceutical companies and biological research companies. And chemical companies and we're doing that today.
We are signing over other major companies today and we didn't post Malone a couple but mostly we are signing over different ones that we mentioned a couple of the ones that were signing over just big and then we went through some details
**Costco it is a huge company it sells wholesale or son wants to buy there once the freezer needs to and it's a pain in the ass going up there every day and his bike and wrist breaking it and these people don't care they're a bunch of jerks so we need to take these people out of the picture and we're going to do it shortly but the company is our it's locked stock and barrel we have 90% of the stock they have two chairs it's the same people and we're going to run it and we're going to fix it it's already pretty good but the employees are working there are keeping people out and we're going to kill them for it
**Sam's wholesale club it's the same deal we have 95% of the company they have two chairs left we're going to revamp it and it's close to being okay but we have to get rid of these idiots and we're going to pull them out and we need to get rid of them and their clans because they refuse to stay away what they're doing is illegal and they prevent people from having food that would be worth something against Tommy f and the warlock are going to be dissolved there won't be any of them and they're useless people. I want to make a note that they're going to try and hide in regular people and her son is a prime target because I think that his body would hold their stupid brain and it would not it would eat it up his immune system it would destroy it but that's what they're thinking so we have to be on guard
**Target superstores and Target stores are hours today Lock stock and barrel we have 9% of the stock and have two chairs
These are three of the biggest retailers on Earth there's a few more and they're not as big but they have gigantic sales already and they're going to overshadow these three in certain areas but Costco and Sam's are mostly food now and that's what we need our people to have and that's what Max need and foreigners and we're going to provide it but these stores are professionals in their areas of clothing and tools and small equipment and small appliances and appliances
**Sears and roebuck and that's the name we're having and leaving and they are going to have two chairs we have 95% of the stock we own and run the company and we will wield it as if we do because we are. We're opening almost 100% of the stores are closed some of them are in areas that are shut down this is a company that is greatness and we like it and our son loved it and daughter and it and he went there often and got a lot of stuff going to be reinstated the Craftsman tool guarantee will be reinstated and we're going to be selling all the brand names that they sell usually plus. And all the hand tools and we're going to be selling machines lawn mowers and excavators backhoes and all sorts of fun stuff for attachments it's going to be a nice time it's a very big company it's going to be big overnight the clothes they sell are in fashion they usually watch that that's what they watching and quality
**he says Walmart has no fashion sense and they don't and straight talk is a Walmart company and they keep billing him and billing him and billing him for something that they had already done and now they stopped Billy him and there's taking the money in and out of his account because their jackasses it's cold and we're going to use it against them completely and we're going to bury those idiots and take the Walmart company over I'm moving now that we take Walmart everyday all over the world going to pull the retards out completely
**Marshalls this store is very big they sold a lot of stuff during the repression was really what we had and we're reviving it and revamping it and we're doing new store friends and we're going to include more things that we are going to include a lot of stuff that they sell it's good good for a lot of people and we're doing it now these companies are signing to us today Lock stock and barrel they're supposed to do yesterday but an hour completing the documents and paperwork and it will be a go it's 90% hours two chairs same people
**JCPenney same as the above same percentage same people and we are going to revamp it and bring it back to its former luster it did have a high in store and we're going to include that we're going to include higher-end items at a decent price and that's when the name of the game is with this company and his son reminded us of it and we knew it and we were going to do it but it's nice to say
**Macy's it's a huge company and it just deserves being said that it will be revamped and it will be utilized the way it was and it will be high and stuff for a decent price and very nice things but they're not the highest
**Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus two different companies but the high-end stuff and We own It Lock stock and barrel same as above 90% roughly two guys still seating and we are going to revamp them bring them back to the former luster and include items that are much more expensive than we're in there and also items that are expensive that people can buy and a decent price can't sell the stuff too cheap it takes money and time to make
All these companies were going to own Lock stock and barrel probably soon and we are going to wield the power and use it. We're going after Banks today Bank of Boston Bank of America are two of them key Bank is another and the several sneakers around here BB&t is one of them I'm going to make sure you know that we're here and we're going to start taking it over I'm so sick of listening to you and having to talk to you idiotic kids you're so stupid that you shouldn't be driving a car or walking around you should be in a hospital and that's it they were taking over the hospitals too but a nightmare in pharmaceuticals and we're taking over the pharmaceuticals and hospitals at same time but really we take over hospitals in the pharmaceuticals get shut down you people are bunch of yammering jackasses and they're going to lose because of it. There's a few other industries that we're going to scour but really we're starting on the other ones after today and we're signing up all these retailers in the hospitals and the pharmaceuticals it's an ongoing in item and we do dental and outpatient and specialist too and we're going to take it all over it's ridiculous now you can't go anywhere and get anything done these idiots have to leave they've been asked to leave and they're not. It's seven more things of business and we'll mention it soon
Thor Freya
We're getting it out he's got breakfast ready almost and I'm saying I thank him very much he's doing good work and he knows what he says he thanks me
Hera
We approve this message in all its content and we are taking these companies over today they are signing to us and we are taking over all of the gas stations on Earth you might notice that they're different you show up with a little cigarette you're going to jail

Cans are a matter of taste. But what about your body if you only eat Costco cans for 30 days? People resort to extreme measures in these difficult financial times. It is becoming more difficult to buy enough food to make a balanced, well-rounded meal. But what if that is impossible? What happens then? We are fortunate to live in an age where canned goods are readily available and cheap options are easy to find. Consuming only canned foods can have serious consequences. Before you decide to eat Costco cans every day for 30 days, here are some things to keep in mind. Can You Live Off Costco Cans? Everybody is suffering. It doesn't matter if you are a CEO or an average Joe, inflation is affecting everyone. While everyone feels the pressure, some feel it more than others. For them, rising food costs are causing severe financial problems. Related: Tips for Food-Stretching From The Great Depression People tend to save money by buying canned goods when trying to cut costs. Canned food is more affordable than fresh or frozen foods and it's also easier to find. You can often get non-perishable food items like canned goods at your local food bank. Imagine if canned foods were all you had for cooking meals. Curious, I decided to test if Costco canned foods were possible for 30 days. The results were amazing. This small experiment can show you a lot. This experiment reveals how your thoughts can control your cravings and how nutrition can affect your body. It also demonstrates how creative thinking is a powerful tool. Evaluation of Selection Anyone who has ever been grocery shopping knows Costco is the best. Many shoppers are motivated by the large selection of similarly massive products at Costco. Related to 10 Best Prepper Foods That You Can Find at Costco Costco is a great place to shop because of its wide selection. The selection is amazing, but Costco's products are larger than any other competitor. There are many things you can't get at Costco, even though there are plenty of options. First, bread and rolls are not allowed on the menu. Costco may have canned bread if you're lucky. It is not comparable to the real deal and may require additional ingredients that aren't readily available. Second, Costco's selection is amazing, but it soon becomes obvious that the meals will be boring, monotonous, and repetitive. Costco has a large selection of canned meats, but it can still be difficult to find healthy foods. For the next 30 days, you will be eating a lot of soups, canned meats and canned seafood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The First Big Fat Hurdle You will soon encounter your first major barrier in this challenge, which is fat. If you find yourself in a situation where you are looking for ideas for meals, you'll quickly notice that many canned foods don't have the necessary calories to sustain you and your family. Related to 10 Best Prepper Foods That You Can Find at Costco If you want to stay healthy on Costco cans for the long-term, then you will need to choose high-nutrient, fiber, and low-fat foods. Canned beans are great because they are healthy and rich in nutrients. Costco offers a variety of beans in cans and full-canned meals with bean-rich ingredients. You have many options when it comes to canned chili and soups with beans. These can be great choices for getting the calories you need while satisfying your hunger. Cans of canned goods can be worse than sugar because they are high in salt. This can quickly cause havoc to your system. Salt intake can lead to water retention, high blood pressure, thirst, and increased risk of developing heart disease. Canning foods that are high in calories will have high salt content, which can lead to long-term health problems. The Low Grumble Of Truth Besides the fact that Costco cans are not healthy, you'll notice that you feel hungry. Although canned foods can fill you up, they won't last very long.
Most often, carbs and sides are what keep us full and happy. These carbs are often absent from canned foods, and even when they do exist (such as in canned beef and potato soup), they are heavily processed for preservation and are full of chemicals. Cans are processed to make canned food more filling. However, canned foods will not keep you full for as long as a healthy and balanced meal. Creativity is a lot The most important thing I learned while preparing for this challenge and attempting to complete it was how creative my creativity could play a part in my success. When your options for meals are limited to canned foods that you can buy at Costco, it is important to think outside the box. Although the large selection is helpful, it can still be quite difficult. It is easier to find canned potatoes and rice, but these can get old quickly. You quickly find that your meals are a means to an ending rather than a pleasure. You will not want to eat canned soup or vegetables again after 30 days. Without creativity, desserts can be bland without much trial and error. If you try to live off Costco cans, you will find yourself hungry more often than not. I advise you to plan your meals . The Best Options for Success There are better options than living off Costco cans if you find yourself in this situation. Foods that are high in nutrients and calories will be preferred. It is important to have a wide variety of food options, because even after 30 days, your meals can become monotonous. To help you get through this time, I'll suggest some options, especially if things get tedious. For Protein And Calories: Sausages:Canned Sausages are a great way to fill up your stomach and get some calories. They aren't always the most delicious to eat, but they can be made semi-edible by being fried with spices. Related to How To Make and Can Vienna Sausages (2 Year Shelf Life) Tuna and sardines and other canned fish: Although fish is very lean, they provide energy and fill your stomach. Tuna can be a great way to curb hunger in emergencies and I keep a can of it on hand. Caned turkey, beef, and ham:These meats, like fish, tend to be less fatty when canned. They are great for quick and filling meals that still provide a lot of calories. Beans If there's one canned food you should always keep in your pantry, it's beans. These little morsels can last you a lot longer than your imagination. Beans are a great source of protein, fiber and are super filling. Chickpeas Although not the most well-known food, chickpeas can be a great way to get nutrition and satisfy your hunger quickly. Chickpeas are bland to me. They can be combined with other foods to increase protein and fiber. Canned Vegetables - Canned Mushrooms:Canned mushroom can be used to spice up a basic meal or provide nutrients. They can also be used as meal replacements and are rich in protein and phosphors. Corn and peas, green beans and carrots:Canned vegetables provide vital nutrients, even though they may not be as nutritious as fresh or frozen. Sometimes, nutrients are added to the production process. This makes them an excellent option to keep on hand. Potatoes When you can't live on Costco cans for 30 consecutive days, canned potatoes are your best friend Canned potatoes can be a great way to fill up your stomach. Canned potatoes can provide you with the energy you need in times of crisis. Keep a few cans handy. Canned Fruit Options Peaches Much like fresh peaches, canned peaches are rich in nutrients. They are delicious and provide you with the energy you need to get you through the day. Pineapple Caned pineapple is high in sugar but provides nutrition and fills you up. Pineapple can also be a source for fiber and aids in digestion. It promotes weight loss and healing. A can of pineapple is a good option. PearsEating canned pear provides Vitamin B which lowers blood pressure.
They are also rich in glycosides, tannic acid and other nutrients that can help relieve the symptoms of coughing. Canned pears contain a lot of sugar, but they are full of vitamins. They are easy to absorb by the body and promote liver health. CherriesFresh cherry are high in nutrients and aid in inflammation, sleep improvement, joint health, and support joint health. Although canned cherries may not have the same benefits as fresh cherries, and contain more sugar than fresh ones, they can still be enjoyed as a sweet treat and can provide additional calories. Tomatoes Yes, they are considered to be a fruit. Canned tomatoes are a common pantry item, and with good reason. Canned tomatoes are great for any dish and offer many health benefits. Similar: Making Simple Tomato Sauce From Fresh Tomatoes and Peppers If you are unable to live on Costco cans for more than 30 days, there are other options. A can of soup or chili will fill your stomach. These foods are high-salt. Consuming these foods in excess can cause long-term health problems. They are still essential and something you should always have. I ensured that I had enough rice, soup, chili, pasta, and pasta. You will need to keep a few more items in your pantry in order to do this experiment. These are the items I recommend you keep in your pantry. They can be used to make better meals with canned goods such as condensed milk and sauces. What to Expect and What to Eat It isn't a lifestyle that I would choose to live on Costco cans. This experiment proves that it is possible. Costco offers a wide range of canned foods. Related to 7 Mistakes When You Buy Canned Foods If you don't plan and aren't creative, your meals can become boring and repetitive. You can still make some decently satisfying meals with little effort. Here is an example of meal planning that you can use for this experiment. You will have to be creative and willing to experiment with different options depending on where you live and what your budget is. However, great meals can be made from Costco cans. Breakfast Because you can't buy canned cereal, breakfast is the hardest meal to plan. My family doesn't eat breakfast very often and we skip it a lot. It is a bad habit, I know. But it is true. In my case, this meant that I could get by on minimal effort. A good breakfast is still essential. Here are some choices: fruit salad, baked beans and sausages, and fried bean breakfast wraps. Lunch Lunch can be quite challenging and repetitive. There are only so many options if you don't have bread. = Building a Hidden Food Growing Fence in Your Backyard You can still eat satisfying lunches, if you think creatively. Let's take a look at some examples: Steak and Potato Soup, Tuna Salad with a Fruit Salad Dessert, Caned Ravioli with a Pudding Dessert. Dinner Even with the best of circumstances, dinner can be difficult. Canning only makes it more complicated. Although my recipes are not the most healthy, they are still filling and effective. You don't have to stick to Costco cans if you want to be creative. Chili followed by a fruit dessert. Canned chili can be your go-to meal if you only eat Costco cans. Costco stores have many chili choices, so you will likely try each brand at least twice during your 30 day trial. Stir-fry with chicken, rice and vegetables: I use the term stir-fry lightly here. This is a meal that includes a can each of chicken and rice. The meal isn't very flavorful, but it fills the stomach and is not too expensive. If you are looking to make more meaningful meals, I recommend you get more spices. A meal of beef, potatoes, and vegetables with gravy: It can be quite interesting. It will however be very mushy, and not have the same density as potatoes. Similar: Canning Mormon Beans for Long-Term Preservation This meal is nutritious and filling once you get past the baby food texture. If you're lucky enough to find canned mousse or canned pudding at Costco, you can enjoy a sweet treat.
Cans of canned meals lack texture. Many canned meals are soft and mushy. In many cases, the flavors are also lacking. There are some delicious soups that can make it easier for the palate. Last Thoughts You now know the answer to your question if you consume only Costco cans for 30 consecutive days. You will eat more salt and sugar, and your meals will become dull and repetitive. Also, you will quickly forget what flavor tastes like. It is possible with creativity and determination. It doesn't mean you should do it if it is not possible. You will know there is an option if you are in this situation. What could you make if you only had canned food? Your ideas are welcome. These may be the poor chic girl’s best friend. The cigarettes kill the too-poor-for-groceries (because you had that martini last night) hunger pangs, and the credit pays for the food that you may ultimately give in and buy just to keep you standing. Or that NARS lipstick you just need to cover up the fact that your lips are purple from an unheated (can’t waste money on utilities) bachelor apartment, or the insufficient outerwear you’re currently donning as a result of ebay desperation (more on this later). Beware, poor little chic girl, the cigarette/credit cycle is a vicious one — eventually you run out of that cigarette money you’ve saved in your bank account, and the credit begins to pay for that too. Before you know it you’re mentally crossing your chilly little fingers every time you use that powerful piece of plastic.
Don’t fear though, this cycle can be broken, and no, you won’t need to quit smoking to do so, those little sticks are far too chic to give up, and they just look so good with the all-black ensemble you’re wearing in a pathetic attempt to warm up! It’s simple, really, all you have to do is flex the strongest muscle a chic girl has — her willpower. Your self-control is stronger than the iron curtain when offered some high-carb, caloric treat (chic girls only indulge at LaDurée, a macaron only has 60 calories you know) yet it just crumbles when handed money. Seriously, just cut that little demon in half, hide it away, pretend it’s a Big Mac for chrissake and don’t touch it. Mine lives inside of my copy of The Great Gatsby (so appropriate right?) and it won’t rear it’s ugly head until its balance is a big, empty zero or the heinous shade of green it is comes back in style. We all know what will happen first.
Yes, this may be easier said than done but the true poor chic girl should know that she’s more self-controlled than a Tibetan Monk, and that her credit card really won’t match her outfit anyway. Unless it’s an Amex Black card, then it’s the most beautiful piece of fake money ever seen and she’s not really a poor chic girl so she can just get out of here now. Since Fitzgerald took my Visa into his custody I’m on track to have it paid off by the end of this month, I don’t need that Big Mac, I don’t do hamburgers. So come on, poor chic girl, join me in layering all of the sweaters in my closet, throwing on a pair of leather leggings (you know you have one), and stepping out onto the pavement without your credit card and engulfed in a cloud of Marlboro chicness.
Side note: I’ve compiled a bit of a list of the cheapest way to keep up a reputation (shopping at Whole Foods), but still staying nourished and alive.
– Whole Foods store brand english muffins for $2.99
– 2/$4 avocados, sometimes even 3/$5.
– frozen edamame beans for $3.00 (just half a cup in the shells is enough for you, barely any of the package, and super filling)
– grind-your-own peanut butter at $0.89/100g. 100g lasts forever!
– baby yoghurt (I like liberté bébé because what a cute name and pretty lilac packaging) is better than normal yoghurt and baby products don’t have sales tax!
– anything from their store brand is actually really good and not too expensive! I live for english muffins (obvi), don’t really eat any processed garbage.
– buy mushrooms and other typically prepackaged vegetables and fruits individually, it works out much less and you won’t have unnecessary mushrooms left in your fridge to rot.
– egg whites are significantly cheaper than a carton of eggs, and really who eats yolk anymore unless it’s in eggs florentine?
My typical shopping trip for two weeks usually costs about $20 and consists of two avocados, a tomato, english muffins, yoghurt, egg whites, a vegetable of my choice, and a grapefruit. (Keep in mind I have a fully stocked pantry and selection of rices/pastas/soups/salmon filets already from my mum’s last trip to costco with my credit card months ago to add into these ingredients). I plan my meals vigorously and never stray from my plan, unless it means trading Tuesday’s lunch with Thursday’s dinner
So tell me, how have you optimised your grocery trips for price? Your favourite supermarket deals? How have you stopped the credit abuse? Is this post lacking topic too much? (but actually though what am I saying here)
