Kigurumi Party: A Sky High Fanfic

P.S., this fic goes to @darrenpeace for their early Halloween posts last time on October 31st, 2022.

October 31st, Halloween. The spookiest time of the year. Will's 3rd favorite holiday. What he loved best about Halloween was dressing up, that and getting free candy. Because he liked dressing up so much, he decided to throw a kigurumi party at his house, not a big party, he was only inviting his friends.

He got dressed in a blue kigurumi, and it was so soft and cute, he looked like Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. A knock came at the door, he went to open it, and he saw Layla, dressed up in a green kigurumi.

"Layla!"

"Hey, Will. Don't I look cute?"

"Cuter than ever."

Layla's face turned as red as a tomato. While her boyfriend was a little dull, he could also be really sweet.

As they waited for the others to get there, Layla helped Will set up the living room for a scary movie night, eating candy and popcorn. They heard another knock on the door, and Layla opened it to see Magenta and Zach.

Zach was dressed up in a Pikachu kigurumi, and Magenta was dressed in a blue kigurumi with darker blue stripes. Zach had his arm resting on Magenta's head, and Magenta looked annoyed as ever.

"Hi guys! You're just in time to help us prepare for the party."

"Aw, I was hoping we'd get here in time to enjoy the party, not prepare for the party."

"I actually don't care, I'm only here for the free candy."

Will trudged over to the door, "Well all of this preparing is gonna take more than 2 people, so we could really use your help.", Zach and Magenta exchanged glances at one another, then shrugged.

About half an hour later, Ethan showed up to the party, wearing an orange kigurumi, and he looked more than happy to help with the party. Soon, the preparations were complete, and everyone was there, all except Warren.

Will told the gang he would be a minute as he flew to Warren's house, holding a bag in his hands. He knew Warren didn't really like parties, but they were best friends, and he wouldn't go through with this party without his best friend.

As soon as he got to Warren's house, he knocked on the door, and Warren answered. He didn't say anything, just leaned against the door frame, a blank look on his face.

"War, didn't you get my text about the kigurumi party at my house?"

"Yes."

"Then why aren't you -?"

"Because I don't want to go."

"Why not?"

"Well A. I don't do parties, B. I don't dress up in stupid cute costumes, C. I'm not going to dress up like an idiot or go trick or treating either if that's what you're thinking."

A short pause.

"Also, D. I don't have a kigurumi."

"Which is why a few weeks before tonight, I stopped at Party City and bought you this."

He pulled out from the bag he was holding a black kigurumi, representing Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.

Warren slammed the door in Will's face.

"Still not going."

Will wasn't giving up that easy. He wanted his best friend to have fun with him, like he had fun reading or watching romance sitcoms. Sure, if Layla was still his best friend, he wouldn't even have to ask, but Warren isn't Layla, so it wasn't that easy.

"Warren, I just want you to have fun."

"I will have fun, once you leave and I can watch The Nun."

"You can watch The Nun with us."

"No, I like to watch my movies by myself."

Will still wouldn't give up, instead, he just knocked on the door again and again, and waited for the hothead to answer. Finally, he did.

"Look, Stronghold, I said I wasn't going to your stupid-"

Will pounced on Warren, and the two broke out into a cat fight.

About two hours later, Will managed to get Warren over his shoulder, and bind his wrists together. Warren kept giving his best friend death glares.

"I. Hate. You."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"I know, I know. Look, Warren, this party is gonna be fun. We'll watch movies, we'll tell each other ghost stories, we'll stay up late, and we'll eat as much candy as we can cram into our systems."

"Yeah, that's why I don't want to go. I'm not 5 anymore, I'm not as childish as I was back then."

Will nearly dropped Warren when he heard that.

"Childish?"

"You heard me right."

"War, might I remind you that we're all still in high school."

"You and your friends are freshmen, and I'm a sophomore. You finish the puzzle."

Will rolled his eyes. "Warren, when I was a child, my parents wouldn't let me stay up late, or watch scary movies, or go out at night without adult supervision. I couldn't even eat my candy without them checking for razor blades or poison. This year is different, except the candy part, and I want to spend it with my 5 closest friends."

"5?"

"Layla, Zach, Magenta, Ethan, and you."

"Oh."

"C'mon, Warren. I'll make sure you have fun, too. After all, you do love scary stuff, and Magenta told me you're really into cosplay."

"What?"

"Nothing."

Warren kept debating about it for a minute, but after a while, he reluctantly agreed to attending this party.

The party was a blast. They ate so much candy and got into the wildest sugar rush, and Ethan threw up several times. They were sure they were going to have nightmares after watching The Nun, Megan, Five Nights At Freddy's, It, and Slenderman. They didn't even tell ghost stories, as they were all pretty traumatized as it is, and no one went to sleep until 6:00 in the morning.
