Pasangan awet yang tak serasi

Berlian, arang.

Kemewahan, nasi yang kurang.

Gedung, gubuk.

Tingginya jabatan, gundahnya kerja serabutan.

Pasangan yang selalu bergandengan di kota ini, masih langgeng sampai detik ini.

Pasangan yang awet, namun tak serasi.

Pasangan yang dipertemukan oleh kondisi "terkotak kotakan" sejak dini.

"Ah muak aku dengan tembok pembatas ini"

"Boleh aku robohkan sekarang?"

Seakan semua enggan mengerti

"Diam!" ujar yang kurang ajar

"Baiklah..semoga segera memadam api kecemburuan" jawabku tak panjang.

Bukan salah atas bukan salah bawah.

Hanya salah pemahaman.

Hanya perihal kurang pengertian.

Perihal konsep hubungan sosial.

Pembentuk perbedaan karakter dan kesuksesan semua insan.

I wrote this poem with a lot of love in my heart. Again and again, I hear people talking about an idea that it is important to accept, sometimes--sometimes something breaks and it will never be the same. The thing that isn't always clear is that sometimes, you are not only whole again, you become MORE whole, after you have been broken. Sometimes, it takes breaking for you to be recreated in a form that (even though things might not be perfect) allows you to experience true joy. When I was a kid, my family had one of those chance encounters that stuck with me forever. The man we talked to had been through absolute hell, and things were not perfect when we talked to him, but he said "I always have joy in my heart." I was so confused. I asked him how he could possibly be happy all the time, and I simply said that wasn't quite what he meant, and I would understand better when I was older. I'm starting to understand. As broken as you may be, just know that there will come a day where the light will pour through you and become part of you, a day when even in your grief you won't lose touch with that light.
