Feeling grateful for the communal creativity of fandom and transformative works today. I love how collaborative fic writing and fanart is, how we're inspired not just by the source text but by each other. How we build on each other, both consciously and unconsciously. How sharing ideas, being generous with ideas, is foundational to our creativity, in contrast to the individualistic and proprietary attitudes you so often encounter in other creative and intellectual domains.

No, we're not always perfect, and we're not always supportive (we're only human), but in my experience the positive interactions, whether they be conversations or silent currents of inspiration travelling between minds, far outnumber the negative ones.

Perpetually thinking about the time I was at Joann Fabrics and complimented an employee on their hair, which was half bright pink and half bright blue, and they said, "Thanks. I'm bigender, so it's like..." and gestured to their hair. And I replied, "Oh cool, I'm agender." And they nodded and said, "Between us, we have the statistically average number of genders."

Morning

A long list of positive things

Hubby's glucose levels have fallen significantly. We are all happy about that

After storing them for 6 months, the protein jellies and shakes have now been disposed of. Since nobody wants to take them in. It's a shame because they would be useful for anybody who needs to put weight on

Whilst hubby is at physio, I've been pottering around the house, waiting for delivery of my perfume. The one I debated about a couple of days ago

My favourite skechers sandals are almost kaput. I do have a different pair going spare but my feet are saying OH HELL NO when I put these ones on. So I guess its time for a replacement pair and donate those others to charity and throw out the old skechers sandals (I wear them until they're literally falling apart, thy are that good)

There's another Bun Bun on its way to join my little Bun Bun family. This one is a StrawBunny and this is probably the only way to get close to a strawberry, since I have a mild allergy to that fruit. I think I'll call it either Delilah or Alphonse

When trying to open the tin of gloss paint, I made a right mess of the lid, so it now has a hole in the top and doesn't close properly. Oh well

We have a home made goulash ready for dinner tonight and I finally made turnovers from the old leftover apples

💫𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 2023💫

2023 has been a year to say the least so lets get into this 😂. As usual this is in no particular order cause I cant handle putting these into a proper order.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬:

1. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐞 (2022).

I watched this on a whim and boy am I glad I did. The female lead is so unhinged but in the best way and our main guy is so in love with her I cant. Literally this drama was such a fun time and everything connected together so well. Just watch this drama pls.

2. 𝐁𝐨 𝐑𝐚! 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐡 {𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞} (2023).

Yoo In Na shines and I love the character growth that both the leads go through, everything that happens makes sense and it really does show that working on yourself isnt a linear process. There will be set backs but you can over come them. I tend to not care for side couples but I loved all of them in this, they were just hilarious or adorable.

3. 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧 (2023).

I wasnt going to watch this drama but thankfully instagram reels made me interested enough to give this a chance. I love all 4 of the leads, they are my babies and they deserve all the happiness in the world.

4. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐅𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮 (2023).

This was such a cute, fun drama. I didnt expect to love it as much as I did, the family dynamics, friendships, everything was so well done and the 2 couples were the cutest.

5. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 (2023).

Literally Instagram reels made me watch this and I do not regret it. The melodrama, romance, revenge, plot twists... Everything was such a wild ride, I recommend that everyone watches it.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐍𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬:

1. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 ~ 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧.

The irony, I always said that I wouldnt stan a group with more than 7 members 😂. Honestly I was just seeing too many funny reels about SVT and then I watched the Game Caterers videos without even knowing all of their names and Super was everywhere that I just fell into the rabbit hole that is Seventeen.

2. 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 ~ 𝐉𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐨.

My bias came and she ate. I love this song and it showed in my top 2023 songs its at number 6... The top 5 are all Taylor obviously.

3. 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 ~ 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐨𝐨𝐤.

He came and took over the world. Nothing more to say about that.

4. 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐦 ~ 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐧.

Yall need to stop sleeping on Enhas japanese discography. This song is just so sweet and wonderful. I cant with it.

5. 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 ~ 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐦.

I just loved this whole song and the album too. Next LSF comeback when?!.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬:

So last time I only had the vault tracks but Speak Now was the album that made me a swiftie so not limiting myself to just the vault tracks this time.

1. 𝐇𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝.

This is my absolute favourite song. It is just such a masterpiece and can be related to in any situation.

2. 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝.

I love this song so much, I have a one shot of the same name 😂.

3. 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐅𝐥𝐲.

Im a hopeless romantic okay.

4. 𝐈𝐬 𝐈𝐭 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐰.

Do I even need to explain myself with this.

5. 𝐒𝐥𝐮𝐭!.

Most definitely not what I was expecting but I love it so much.

5 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝:

1. Bestie got married, shes happy and Im happy for her. It was a proper desi wedding and it was good fun.

2. I FINALLY graduated from University😂. Only took me like 5 years, one failed attempt and repeating my third year.

3. Made some great friends from the school I worked at, we bonded over how messed up the school we worked at is.

4. Managed to travel and have such great experiences.

5. Im happy with the fanfics I wrote this year. Still shocked that people actually read and enjoy the stuff I write but Im immensely grateful for all the love and support I get.

sometimes you're just gonna struggle to get out of bed, and that's okay.

Its okay to feel, its okay to have a bad day and its okay that you aren't at your absolute best all of the time. you're doing your best, and that's all that matters. you're trying, and that's all that matters. you got through the day, and that's all that matters. sometimes just getting through the day is hard sometimes, so that's a very big accomplishment and im very proud of you.

you will have bad days and bad emotions but they won't last forever, you'll be okay again, you will smile so hard and laugh until your stomach hurts. I promise. I promise you that will happen again.

I really wish I could wear my kilt more in everyday life. There is a sort of pride in wearing the traditional tartan of our clan. I’m really interested in Scottish clan history, so actually getting to wear the tartan from the clan my family a from is something I really love. Plus it opens up conversations with others and it really is so wonderful being able to exchange stories and talk of culture to others. Oftentimes conversations that start with someone asking about the kilt will end with a charming conversation with a stranger where you hear a story from their culture and you both get to learn something new.

Good news of August 2024

Ha. Funny thing about maintaining a native garden:

Some seeds are sticky. For me, it’s mostly twin flower which is a ground cover (grass alternative that is pollinator-friendly) with cute little bluish-purple flowers. Whenever I walk through the garden or tend to it, the seeds stick to me and they fall off as I walk around.

I’m literally leaving a trail of flowers behind me at this point…

There are some days, depending on the weather/temperature, I can see the pale marks of old self harm scars on my arms. Sometimes, I wonder about if anyone recognises them for what they are. Maybe one day, I may get other tattoos over them.

Even so. For all the offline family dramas, the navigation of online social relationships - looking ay these pale scars, I can recognise how far I've come. That it's been several years since any sort of relapse.

I'm still here. Still growing as a person, despite attempts of anyone to pull me down or have me branded. That's the truth of the thing anyway - nobody really knows what you go through. Nobody lives your experiences but you.

Thank you for all the hard lessons, the love and tears. Looking at where I've been, these scars I have, where I am now - I know I've made the best decision to stay and keep on thriving.

I love you all, and always hope to continue doing so - that we can all find our places of love, safety and best selves.

my dog got new toys today from her bark box and she's beyond happy 😅 she got a squeaky mac n cheese dish and a turkey that she ripped open to find a rubber football inside, and now she's laying there chewing on them happy grumbling, using one as a pillow while she chews on the other

hard to be upset when you ask a puppy if she likes her toys and she looks at you in a way that she looks like she has a huge smile on her face

my honest reaction after reading the plots of Can't Fight this Feeling Anymore & the Colt x Reader x Court fic:

This literally made me laugh out loud and have happy tears in my eyes 😭😭😭 You don't understand how happy it makes me to be able to share the ideas that have been floating around in my brain and to know that you're already excited for them even though they haven't been written or finished. I've got a few drabble requests in my inbox still I need to finish, and then I'm gonna start making a plan for these WIPs to work on next!
