luke fumbling in recruiting percy has to be one of his greatest failures. a beautiful thing the show does regarding luke and percy's relationship is building rapport between them through shared moments like settling into camp, eating meals together, but especially through swordfighting lessons. the swordfighting scene at the beginning of episode 8 not only reveals that percy and luke already share similar beliefs about the fear-based system the gods have cultivated, but it's clear the conversation stays with percy when he fights ares and later calls out zeus on his waning skills as a father and a king. however, luke's plan fell through the moment percy learned that the winged-shoes were meant to drag him to tartarus. not only that, but the shoes nearly killed grover, a friend percy cared for deeply. if nourishing loyalty and trust was the key to ensuring a partnership with percy, then it was luke's faulty planning, arrogance, and impatience that cost him the greatest ally he could ask for.

Here me out, hear me out...Reincarnated Odysseus Au...but Odysseus is one of Poseidon's past lovers—HEY! If you wanna blame anyone for this blame the author of this fic right here!

(Tldr: Poseidon was Ody's first love. He thought Odysseus was cheating on him with Athena so he drowned like half his Island and absolutely destroyed his heart)

Anyway Poseidon has long since realized how badly he fumbled Odysseus—it genuinely keeps him up at night—so when a reincarnated Ody pops up on Olympus with his son even though the man's glaring daggers at him all he can think in "Holy SHIT!?!? Is this a second chance!? Has some kind power greater than my own granted me an opportunity to fix my past mistakes!?" While Hermes and Athena are just like— "...My good bitch, you drowned half his Island, killed most of his men, threatened his family, and basically abandoned his adoptive son and Sally—who's pretty much his best friend. He is NOT taking you back, the fuck are you on???"

One of the best headcannons that came from Greek Mythology enthusiats is that Poseidon loves horses.

Like, sure, every god likes his sacred animal and all.

But Poseidon LOOOOVEEEES horses. He's a certified cowboy. He goes to horse-related events, he thinks ponies are adorable, he could brush horse maines all day, he has a whole collection of my little pony toys on his shelf, he's the patron god of horsegirls

There's little to no basis for this other that horses are one of his sacred animals and yet. He loves horses, guys.

Accidental Fanart (the reveal)

First of all: Thank you to all of the kind people who answered my first post regarding if I am even allowed to post this picture. I got pretty sick about two weeks ago and had a pretty high fever but was unable to sleep so I occupied myself with scrolling through tumblr and doodling on my ipad. Turns out feverish!me is better at art than normal!me and accidentally created the best artwork i've ever drawn by redrawing another artists design in my own style in a post I cooked up in my brain (literally)! xD

smth smth in get in the water what if during the line "I'll take your son and gouge his eyes" poseidon summons a water-form of telemachus to taunt odysseus and that's the first time odysseus finds out what his son looks like. and ofc poseidon would gouge water-telemachus' eyes so odysseus gets to see his baby for the first time in 20 years but he's crying in pain Because Of Odysseus. or something lol
