I'm memorizing literary devices to better my media analysis and if i got this right the difference between allegory and allusion is that allegory is integrated as a larger, constant part of the overall narrative while allusion is more contained version, generally restricted to certain parts and/or as a piece for the allegory.......right?

The only interesting thing I have gone through...

in my boring AF job was the phone calls I took yesterday [all in Portuguese. Granted... The lady was pissed AF and with all her entity given right.], and the one I took today in Hmong.

Of course, both times I had to get the translation services team on deck with me to complete the calls.

Those are the only times I am wide awake during my job. lol. When something interesting happens and I don't have to listen to a million iterations of the Spanish language, or one or two randomly lost English speaking customers... Oh sorry we call them 'MeMbErS' ... bitch.. they're customers. STFU.

Also, I haven't taken English calls in a while. I feel I am forgetting the way to answer those. XD

But yeah, those were the only two phone calls in the entire time I've been in this shitty job where I was like. *gasp* OOOOOOOOOOoh listen to this language I don't speak, it's amazing! People talk! in other languages! And I'm here all stupid only speaking Spanish and English. tsk.

Portuguese ships first rounded the Cape in the late 15th century, and from the 17th century French, Danish, Dutch and English ships regularly visited Table Bay on the trade route to the East Indies. The leftmost element in the image may represent a monumental cross or other marker visible on the shoreline.

It has been suggested that the flags flying in different directions may indicate that the artist was unfamiliar with seagoing navigation; the apparent image of the tricolor indicates the painting to represent a Dutch vessel, indicating the painting to be perhaps mid-17th century.

Reminder that boundaries are about how people interact with you, not how people interact away from you

So this is something I've been meaning to make a post about for a while, but I'm bringing it up now because there's been a Twitter thread circulating of Acau's stream rules (which is very helpful and appreciated) and people are interpreting the "no shipping" stream rule as "one ought not ship Acau everywhere" rather than "keep discussion of shipping out of his stream chat".

People make stream rules that are not mean to apply to the entire population in every circumstance all the time. For example, Foolish has a stream rule against speaking any language other than English or Spanish, but going into the comments of a Portuguese fic to be like "hey jsyk portuguese is against Foolish's boundaries" would be a batshit thing to do.

Another one of Acau's stream rules is only talk about what he's doing on stream. Again, this is a perfectly normal and reasonable expectation to have of a streamer for their chat in a stream, but if his audience started hopping into other streams like "why aren't you talking about Acau?" that would be batshit.

"No shipping" is the only stream rule that the audience decides must extend to every environment and they use that to harass and bully other fans who don't interact with the story in the same way they do.

Do not talk about shipping Acau in Acau's chat. Don't talk about shipping him while tagging him on Twitter. But literally anywhere else? He's not there. It's not his business.

heads up guys: the qsmp wiki now has a section on creator boundaries and it is very, very poorly made. (as in, half of the points on every creator just say “don’t be weird” w/o elaboration, and then like bbh’s list straight up using smp-boundaries translated into portuguese and then back into english? as a source. and this is if any have any sources at all, a good half don’t). be careful posting qsmp ship art on twitter for now.
