Smiling Critter Redesigns Pt2

Late Day 3, it got late by the time I finished the drawing. (Ironically perfect timing considering the recent announcements about Chapter 4)

I have such conflicting feelings about Poppy Playtime as game/franchise/mascot horror, mainly because of the content farms that I have such a burning hate for. But what really gets me is the Smiling Critters, as someone who grew up with stuff like the original Care Bears, and there was something about their designs that bugged me. I would love to do a redesign/overhaul with how I would approach the designs and characters and for a while every-time I tried to draw what I wanted it didn’t look good, but this time around I got it right. I took inspiration from some of the redesigns I saw that made them look like those old rubber-face dolls as well as the old Care Bear artwork. Maybe if people are interested, I’ll do a series of Smiling Critters redesigns/reimagined lore.

A little continuation in regards to that DogDay carrying a guitar around headcanon because it kinda fits him to have that musician vibe(?

He´s like Spongebob or Steven Universe with their ukeleles- The Smiling Critters go on trips or adventures and Dogday just takes out his instrument out of nowhere and begins to play silly songs to lift up the mood xD

Be honest gang did I cook or did I burn. I think I lost the 80's toy vibe along the way but oh well. They're not copy+pasted from each other I def burnt the rat but it's okay

Yarnaby might be my new favorite PPT character because, holy shit not only is he multicolored but creepy too :P

Apparently, Yarn is suppose to be base on a lion and I can kinda see that but it would be cool if they added more lion details other than just a colorful mane and paws, like a nose, round ears and a tail would make it more lion like. But that is just my suggestion :3

Catnap design: I wanted him to look like one of those old ceramic dolls with strangely human faces but charming nonetheless. Also wanted to make him more of a Priest for The Prototype than a minion :3

I know I asked if you guys would wanna see poppy playtime redesigns but the more I started to actually draw them the less I actually wanted to draw them so I’m gonna be drawing something else, I might return to them in the future but just not right now hope you guys understand
