interesting is definitely how i would describe this structure, although not in a good way. on first glance, it seems to lack basic respect for atomic radii and electrostatic repulsion. one side of the protein is more twisted, while the other has wider loops, as if they are making mockeries of alpha helices and beta sheets, respectively. the real problem, though, is how close some of these loops and strands get to each other. in one loop, the strands get so close that they are nearly touching, and surely would be if i looked at anything but the cartoon representation. there may be a lot of alanine, but no amino acid is small enough to make that tolerable. similarly, the single 'beta sheet' is unbearable to look at, with the arrows nearly on top of each other, and side chains poking through the strands. the steric of this entire structure are enough to make me want to scream, and the only reason i didn't include any pictures with side chains is because its impossible to get one that is tolerable, and i didn't want to spend more time looking at it. i'm so glad none of this is real

So I just did an assignment from school. It was one of those edpuzzle thingies (If you've seen them you know) and at the end of the video, there was outro music for some reason. And the outro music sounded uh, a tad bit familiar to me! It was Ievan Polkka, SPECIFICALLY the Hatsune Miku version. I'm so confused.

What was the first vocaloid song that got you into it?

I'm currently 23 right now, I got into VOCALOID when I was 11 (which was 2011). I don't remember what my very first VOCALOID song was because TL;DR back then western fandom was horrible at reprinting properly and giving credit, all I remember is that the image (which may or may not have been from the song or just stolen pixiv art) had a blue hue and it had 3 characters, I think Luka might have been one of them. I don't even remember what it sounds like, because when I was 11 I looked it up on YouTube because I thought it was honest to god anime not music, so I mostly just remember my shock that it was music and that it sounded different than anything I've ever heard before

The first song I remember listening to, which was probably my second vocaloid song ever but I'm not sure, was AVTechNO!'s Darkness Six ft Kagamine Len, which is posted on the blog here.

It's genuinely a good song so I would give it a listen if you haven't heard of it.

however, please try to submit all information in the Latin alphabet, whether that is an English translation or a romanized transliteration system like romaji. this just makes it easier for me to organize.

follow up ; they have both dressed as miku at least once (in play’s case, people drew him as miku back in the day, and for upbeat is that one ievan polkka custom remix) and probably took a picture with a miku standee together (your interpretation)

they would sometimes watch smash tournaments together, but once they watch a tournament where their favorites/mains are up against each other, that’s a different story.

their first meeting was a chance encounter. upbeat was trying to find a place to calm down at night, which was in an unknown area in a forest, then play found him during a night walk. but little did they know they would be seeing each other way more often since that night

they never skip leg day.

a more obvious one, but once fused together, they could possibly resemble a stepswitcher because of their similarities ; play-yan as the light half and upbeat as the dark half. this also happens if they have a child together

play-yan would sometimes stop by the workplace where the other endless game / rhythm toy characters are. he gets along really well with love-san.

play-yan is definitely a kirby fan. also mr. upbeat is canonically a fan of mr. game and watch

they had a chance encounter at a miku concert before. probably miku expo

upbeat has an apartment on the 4th floor with a balcony that has a good view of the night sky. play-yan makes sure to visit him every night (and when i mean night i mean 3 in the morning. upbeat doesn’t mind this at all.)

whenever play-yan doesn’t visit however, he just leaves those little heart flowers instead. maybe a yellow umbrella on a rainy day

they both have pets! play-yan has a cat (from the old promotional art for the play-yan media player) and upbeat has a bird (from the unused cuckoo clock rhythm test that became a base for the mr. upbeat endless game)

whenever mr. upbeat’s monkey watch is under maintenance, he talks to play-yan instead.
