It’s even funnier when you consider the fact that Ash is the strongest aura user ever shown in the anime…

…to the point where a Pokémon that reads aura mistakes him for a long dead aura guardian based on vibes alone. Note that Ash is ten years old and has had no prior training.

Assuming that aura can change with time and effort, just like every other human trait, this means that some random ass child is just as strong as a legendary aura guardian despite barely even knowing what aura is outside of the Pokémon move Aura Sphere.

And that's not even the extent of it. In the rare moments that Ash remembers he's a fucking energybender, he has done the following:

Transferred his power to help Sir Aaron's Lucario heal a dying Mew's symbiotic rock tree. (And by extension, Mew itself.)

Astral project and see through the eyes of Pokémon. (This has happened several times. Just check the Aura page on Bulbapedia.)

Use a keystone to locate its matching mega stone. It's never fully explained why this works outside of "stupid magic bullshit".

See and interact with a dead boy* without even knowing he's dead, to the point where he can fucking project his own senses onto the kid's soul so that he can vicariously pet the fluffy mouse creature. The same thing actually happened in XY.

Telepathically communicate with his Lucario during a battle and discuss what move it should use next.

There's also this fan theory that the strange ripples that sometimes appear around Ash in Pokémon Journeys are aura waves being generated by his excitement, but it's not confirmed and it might just be a stylistic choice.

This isn't even the extent of what aura can do in the anime. It's just the stuff that Ash instinctively knows how to do without training. Please, I implore you, check out the Bulbapedia page on aura right now. This shit's crazy.

It's also shown that the bond phenomenon is linked to aura, but aura isn't outright confirmed to be the catalyst.

If he did decide to get some proper training, he could become the strongest aura user ever. And he’s just fucking around on a Pokémon journey.

*Of course, the whole "speak with the dead" thing could be explained by the fact that Ash has been a ghost possessing his own corpse since Episode 23 of Indigo League, but it's explained in-universe as Ash using aura to help Sunny pet Pikachu, so interpret that how you will.

TLDR: Pokémon lore is batshit insane and Ash Ketchum is a magical zombie Jedi that can see ghosts and he canonically doesn't give a fuck. I love you, Pokémon. Never change.

Note: I was originally going to completely dissect aura and its place in Pokémon lore, but decided against it for the sake of OP's mental health. Will post a full essay on aura and the history of aura when I get around to it.

Ash canonically having aura powers is one of the funniest things any anime has ever done because he just... doesn't care

Like, for any other anime this would be the moment the plot truly kicks up. You know, having your main character find out that he has superpowers and stuff, plus the whole Jedi stuff. Shiny pokemon have a disadvantage in the wild, because their shining skin/fur/feathers/scales make them more visible to predators and shiny poachers. But I have a theory that shiny greninja might be more common, as they have an easier time hiding in the shadows, and their gleaming not being visible if they're in the dark.

I played with this Pokemon theory that involves the life cycle of Vulpix. I don’t understand how they said that a Vulpix is born with a single white tail while in the anime it has all six red/orange tails when it first hatches. I theorize that they are born live in the wild. The eggs would be genetically developed in labs. It’s hard to imagine mammalian creatures laying eggs.

We know by a fact that Cynthia is at least related to the previous champion

We know that Cynthia’s mom died when she was young, so she could’t be and I guess she was more interesed in Sinnoh’s mythology (and passed this interest to her daughter)

Okay, so granny was the champ, and as the grandaughter of the champion, Cynthia was chosen to go with Yanase.

 But wait, let’s go back a lil bit...

Look at that face. In the moment granny mentions “Sinnoh champion”

Why does she look sad? And angry? Also is not the face I’d put if someone spoke about my dead mom. She would look sadder.

So...why?

You know what I think? Granny was the champion...but someone stole the position. Someone close to Cynthia. Her best friend.

Think about it: she had a friend who she enjoyed battling with, he defeated her at the Pokemon Leauge and became the champion. Cynthia knows a lot about gyms, so the friend duo made the same as Platinum: gaining badges as they traveled with Yanase. They had a macth and her friend won.

Also, it would make sense. Cynthia was asked to go on a travel and her friend went along with her.

So Cynthia and her friend meet Rowan (and Jhon). 

What if the reason behind the “Solaceon town doens’t bring good news” is because they meet someone trouble-some from there?

Yes, I’m suggesting that this 3rd person is from Solaceon. And the personality thing adds to the whole Cynthia loving battles and wanting to go with her in the journey.

But at some point, that friend told her to replace him as a champion...but why?

So you (or someone else) trusted a pokedex to someone like Gold and it didn’t end up well.

So that face. At this point he’s really questioning why this kid wants a Pokedex SO BAD. And me too, honestly.

How does he know about the pokedex? Why does he want it? He could only know about it if he saw how it works. If someone close to him had one.

Some hot-headed, stubborn, battle-loving kid from Solaceon town.

His dad.

Why was Gold able to open the gate Sinjo ruins? Well, it is between Sinnoh and Johto and we know his mom if from Johto, so...why wouldn’t his dad be from Sinnoh?

Or maybe I’m qong about all of this, who knows.

Conclusion

 There’s no reason to deny that Cynthia and Yanase traveled together and some mysterious 3rd person went with them.

So Ash finds an egg after an excavation where the whole fight with Aerodactyl and Charizard went down. As we know now, Togepi isn’t part of the Kanto dex and it definitely isn’t a fossil pokemon either. I think that among the trainers at the excavation site was one from the Johto region who lost his egg . . . which Ash picked up. Yeah. There was some confusion after Jigglypuff’s lullaby, but how could no one think to look for the owner of a lost egg, even a little bit. Even Brock was kind of like, “Hah! Dibs. It’s mine now, bitches.”

TLDR; ASH STOLE A POKEMON EGG (TOGEPI) FROM A JOHTO ARCHEOLOGIST AND NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Random PokeTheory No One Asked For!

so this is a little convoluted BUT--weird headcanon i had about pokemon eggs and an excuse to draw realistic cute little babbies

no one knows why, but mammalian pokemon who breed in captivity or who are otherwise trained/domesticated produce PokeEggs (bird fish and reptile etc. pokemon obviously produce eggs regardless but more on that) while wild pokemon tend to have ��realistic/natural’ born offspring the way typical animals in our world would!

the Eggs seem to act as an extended incubator--where, say, a persian would give live birth to a small litter of feeble, blind, squishy little kitten meowth, instead a single egg is sort of magically produced somehow where the newborn sits and develops at a heightened pace to hatch as a matured, fully grown (but still young) meowth! pokeresearchers theorize this is for protection utility, but dont know why or how it seems to really only be done outside of the wild and untamed

even pokemon who would normally lay eggs anyway seem to do a variation on this! wild golisopods will lay broods of eggs and nurture them tenderly until they hatch into infant wimpods the size of baseballs, whereas captive/tamed ones will again produce the single typical pokemon egg to have a fully matured wimpod hatch

speaking of greninja, wtf is battle bond and how do I know if my greninja has it?

Battle bond is an ability that a few amounts of greninja have. If you defeat an opposing pokemon, a greninja will turn into a new form where it gains black spikes and a red spike, as well as a few other changes. It's water shrunken also becomes more powerful.

Battle bond greninja can't breed, so that could be a hint your greninja has it.

Idk where it came from. My theory is that it's attracted to its trainers' "strong aura," which is what transforms it. Scientists are still trying to figure out what these auras mean and what they are.
