Complete Sinnoh Quartet

Behold this lovely art of my four Sinnoh fan children that I had done by @xabi0407. You should really check them out as they have done plenty of other really cool fan children for a variety of different pairings.

As for these four, you all have met Dusk and Feijoa before (the top two) and if you haven't you can check out this post. But you have yet to be introduced to properly to the bottom two. Meet Velvet and Ophilus! As always if you have questions feel free to ask! I promise I don't bite lol.

Velvet: This pouty little one is the child of Saturn and Jupiter, now know as Sean and Felicity. As she is two years older than Dusk, she sees herself as the superior trainer, especially since her Skorupi has the advantage over Dusk's Azuril. She is quite a brat in personality, seeing herself as better than everyone else due to be the daughter of one of the richest CEOs in the region. Velvet also hates Feijoa more than anyone, seeing her as less than human. Despite all her fussing and talk, she may be more troubled than she seems if she's willing to summon Darkrai...

Ophilus: This wannabe magician is being raised by Candice and Maylene, but is biologically the son of Candice and Buck. His bio parents have no relationship beyond Buck helping Maylene and Candice have a child. Ophilus is a show off to the extreme, wanting everyone to know just how great he and his partners are. He thinks he's some kind of master hustler but he really isn't. His team consists of a gaggle of oddballs like him, including his ace: a very laggy, sort of buggy, Porygon. Despite how he may come off, he is quite kind hearted and is one of the few people to be totally okay with Feijoa. It seems Dusk may have a soft soft spot for him...

I realize I forgot to give ages to Dusk and Feijoa so let me age all four now. Dusk is 10, Feijoa is 15, Velvet is 12, and Ophilus is 11.

Some Colress Headcanons!

I saw some posted by @colress-commodore-enterprises and was inspired to write some of my own!

Colress squeaks when he's startled or flustered.

He is the second of three siblings: Lusamine is the eldest, Colress is the middle child, and Darach is the youngest.

Cynthia is his cousin; they get on very well.

Colress has long hair! It's mostly straight, but it does curl a bit at the ends. It falls to around his mid-back, but most people don't know about it because Colress usually ties it into a very low ponytail and stuffs it down the back of his shirt, along with brushing his fringe back.

Contrary to popular belief, his blue loopy is completely natural! Colour AND loop! It's a genetic quirk from his maternal side of the family.

Although absolutely terrible at looking after himself, Colress is absolutely amazing with children.

For whatever reason, Colress seems to trigger an instinctive feeling of safety in children. It's to the point where lost kids will approach him for help rather than the very-visible police officer.

On a particularly memorable occasion, Colress took a nap under the shade of a tree and woke up to being used as a pillow by a bunch of sleepy five-year olds.

Colress has quite the sweet tooth! Although fond of most sweets, his favourites are sherbet lemons.

He has been called a human Delcatty on several occasions. Colress didn’t understand why until Rosa showed him the 'Dex entries for said Pokémon.

He has quite a few scars, some larger than others. They're mostly from his experiments or machine mishaps, but he has a horizontal scar across his throat, courtesy of the Shadow Triad.

He is distressingly good at hiding his problems and/or when he needs help. The most notable instance of this was during his tenure as a scientist for Team Plasma. No one had picked up on the pit of apathy and loathing (directed both inwards and towards Plasma, especially Ghetsis) he had fallen into until Rosa all but kicked down his door and dragged the truth out of him.

He prefers to do the "Forehead Bonk of Love" to show Grimsley affection over kissing. He will, provided he's in the mood for it, but he greatly prefers the Forehead Bonk. Naturally, the Delcatty comparisons increased immensely.

Out of the entirety of Team Plasma, he only got on with (and liked) four of them: Aldith, Barret, Schwarz, and Weiss.

He struck up a delicate bond with Ghetsis' Hydreigon. Said Pokémon is now in his care and is basically a house pet. A very intimidating, very traumatised house pet, but a house pet nonetheless.

To Grimsley’s surprise, despite being abysmal at poker, Colress has a terrifying amount of luck when it comes to games that rely purely on luck. As in, win the roulette five times in a row lucky.

Grimsley jokingly calls him a lucky charm and has managed to coax Colress into joining him as an observer for his poker games in the hopes of his luck rubbing off on him. So far, the evidence is inconclusive.

Colress can't bake to save his life. The only baked good he can make is apple pie, and even then it has a 50-50 chance of going catastrophically wrong.

On the other hand, he is a brilliant cook!

Rosa sees him as a father figure, and he in turn sees her a daughter.

Colress LOVES plants. He's an avid gardener, and an anonymous someone keeps on entering him into gardening competitions. Not that he's complaining TOO much; the winnings provide some nice extra income.

It took a long time for him to stop flinching at the sound of someone walking with a cane.

Although very honest about what he did in Team Plasma, he is incredibly reluctant to reveal his personal experiences working for them. Looker can only assume they weren’t good; that scar along his throat is particularly telling.

Colress is actually a very anxious person; he's just very good at hiding it.

He gets on remarkably well with Looker. They inevitably butt heads over some things, but Colress can easily call the man a friend.

Despite being built like a noodle, Colress is stronger than he looks!

Colress used to babysit Lillie and Gladion for Lusamine, back when they were tiny.

He and Darach get along quite well. It's just that they're both so quiet and introverted that people think they're ignoring each other.

He and Lusamine bicker the most; it's usually friendly ribbing or silly spats, but sometimes things can turn nasty. They still love each other regardless.

Colress hums or quietly sings when he's happy during his work. The Frigate never had the luxury of hearing this.

When he squeaks, Colress can sound remarkably similar to squeaky Pokémon toys. On several occasions, Grimsley and Rosa have had to extract the man from underneath the fluffy excitement of their Houndoom and Arcanine.

He and Schwarz once made an unholy concoction they called "The Insomnia Shot". There's so much caffeine in it that only people with the highest tolerance can drink it, and only out of shot glasses. After being kept awake for four days, crashing, and sleeping for a week, the two vowed to never let its recipe see the light of day again.

I may add more as they occur to me.

They were fun to write, too!

I know we only just had an ancestor for Darach and I didn’t want to post too much about Z-A so I could keep hyping up Scarlet and Violet because I love them so much!!! But what if there were two temporal fallers this time and it’s Caitlin and Darach (or alternatively just Darach and we get a relative of Caitlin) and then the surprise villain is Darach this time. Also it’s post BW Caitlin so she and Darach look older

Okay turns out Sinnoh isn’t as bad as I think it is but the ugly, ugly-boring, boring starter trio with superiority complexes, boring Legendaries, overrated meme rodent, annoying bird, annoying overrated meme bug and Old Man Lucas really ruined my first impression of the region

Dusk and Feijoa

Introducing for the first time two of my Sinnoh fan-children, Dusk and Feijoa. Art was done by the talented slee.pingfish over on Instagram. Go check them out and give them some love.

As for the characters themselves, I'll give a brief overview of both. Can't dump their whole story here since that would take forever and no one wants to read that. Feel free to ask me any questions you have (questions can be asked here or commented)

Dusk (right): My Twinleaf girl. She's the daughter of Dawn and Barry and it shows. She may seem sweet on the outside but she has a nasty temper underneath and a wildly competitive nature. Her ultimate goal is to defeat her mother and become the new league champion. As such she strives to create a team of only the strongest Pokémon, but still ends up with a sweet little Azuril as her starter anyway. Her parents worry about her ambitions but Dusk has a good heart at her core, just like her mom. She has a rival by the name of Velvet, a Saturn and Jupiter kid, and their rivalry can get quite heated.

Feijoa (left): Feijoa is an odd case. She is being raised as the daughter of Caitlin and Darach but biologically she is only Darach's child. Her other parent is a Giratina. Despite her origins and her mildly frightening appearance, Feijoa is a sweetheart through and through. She is well mannered, polite, and kind, acting as a moral guardian to Dusk. She was asked to travel with Dusk by Dusk's parents to make sure her competitiveness didn't end up her hurting her. Feijoa struggles to fit and is often attacked but nevertheless she is determined to make it in the contest world. She not going to let a little stigma prevent her from showing off her wonderful partners to the world. She has a rival named Ophilus but their rivalry is fairly lighthearted.

Here is my drawing for the LESSONS prompt (late by a few days). I wanted to take my time with things since I was having so much fun with it :D

I wanted an excuse to draw Ingo is his butler outfit, and “lessons” immediately reminded me of how he asked Darach for butler advice in Pokémon Masters! (…I have never actually played that game lol. I like watching the juicy lore bits on YouTube >D>;)

Even though he stated he felt he didn’t have much to teach, I like to think he gave Ingo some pointers (especially since Ingo really thought he needed it! But little does he know, he’s already quite a natural haha)

I’m also not sure if this is in character for Ingo, but I was too tempted to try more extreme expressions on his muppet face XD I get the vibe he might tend to overthink things at times, given how in the game he discussed thinking hard about the future (which is why he has adopted the “keep moving forward and see what the future brings!” ideals…perhaps Emmet had his own way of overthinking things as well, given how hard he thought about singing as a butler or not lol). And I tend to be one myself XD so it felt a bit cathartic to draw I suppose

Oh! It was also fun to see how a little bit of @choochooboss ‘s art style bled into my drawing. I really adore the way this artist draws them (really, it inspired me a lot to start drawing again!). ChooChoo, you really make them look so darn handsome! <3

Lusamine: *drunk gasp* You bitch!

Colress and Darach: *both crack up laughing*
