There's something so wholesome about the fact that Mario told Princess Peach– a beautiful, beloved protector– Luigi's name long before his own, while Luigi told Bowser– a terrifying, threatening tyrant– his own name with little provocation while Mario's had to be violently forced out of him.

Like, they really do be putting each other first, even in the subtlest of ways.

323rd edit and I used Disney’s Pocahontas, from well, Pocahontas (I included two screenshots of her as one contrast of her older design). Besides having scenes of straight hair like The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Sally, Pocahontas I appreciate has a similar or closer body build too. Lastly, like Sally, Pocahontas default face is sad or worried. I am running out of 3D characters + stop motion women characters to reimagine as 2D or hand drawn characters. Guilty confession, I think Pocahontas 2 is better film compared to Pocahontas 1.
*= I have so far not used one 2D character twice for my reimagining series.

NaPoWriMo #3: A surreal prose poem
I've interpreted "surreal" as "involving fantasy", and I have no idea if this even counts as a prose poem, but I decided to retell a fairy tale.
Diamonds and Toads
Her words change my words—no longer dust, swept aside and trampled, but diamonds, precious and unbreakable. Jewels falling, flashing, catching light in sharp glints of glory, my breath’s bounty leaving me breathless. My words are a treasure; I must guard and spend well.
The witch! Now every word I speak comes out croaking, hissing, slimy, slithering, hopping. Sour, salty, sharp, bitter words I must swallow back, or be overrun by monsters of my making. Single words are all I dare. My words have a life of their own; I must watch where they fall.

You must experience silliness to understand it truly. Being silly is an important part of many friendships. Perhaps because good friends spend so much time together they become silly in the same ways, they become similarly silly

When it Rains in Connecticut
J.S. Carrie
There are frogs everywhere.  They spring out from the cracks in logs, The bottoms of rivers And gunk-filled ponds, And raise their noses proudly to the sky.
If you have seen it, you will know How very small they are.  How they can rest in just The crevice of your palm.
And if you’ve seen it, You will know that there are many. There are so, so many frogs here, in the country.
When it rains, and the air is cool, And the ground is softened From its usual harshness, and hotness, They surface out from somewhere to enjoy it.
Dozens- no, hundreds, Of tiny little people come together. They gather in bunches On the dark-paved roads, In tandem, tilt their heads up to the sky. Have you seen the way They close their tiny eyes? How peacefully, and fully, They enjoy it.
