What Is The Best Type Of Mattress You Can Buy
Mattresses are made from a variety of foam materials
The best type of mattress and cheap beds depends on your personal preferences and needs. Some people prefer firmer mattresses, while others prefer softer ones. There are a few different types of mattresses to choose from, including innerspring, foam, and airbeds.
Here is a brief overview of each type:
1. Innerspring mattresses: These are the most traditional type of mattress and are made with a support system of coils. They tend to be fairly affordable and widely available, but some people find them too firm.
2. Foam mattresses: These mattresses are made from a variety of foam materials, including memory foam and polyfoam. They are known for their pressure-relieving properties and can be a good choice for people with chronic pain or joint issues.
3. Airbeds: These mattresses have an air chamber that can be adjusted to different levels of firmness. They are a good choice for people who like to adjust the firmness of their mattress or have different firmness preferences from their partner.
Ultimately, the best type of mattress for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It’s a good idea to try out a few different types of mattresses before making a decision.
Best Therapur mattress for support
There are several factors to consider when looking for the best therapur mattress for support, including your personal sleeping position, weight, and any medical conditions you may have.
In general, firmer mattresses tend to provide better support, especially for people who sleep on their stomachs or backs. Memory foam and hybrid mattresses are also good options for support, as they can contour to your body and distribute your weight evenly.
If you have a medical condition that requires a specific type of support, such as arthritis or scoliosis, you may want to consult with a healthcare professional to find a mattress that is suitable for your needs.
It’s also important to test out a mattress before you buy it, as comfort is subjective and what feels supportive to one person may not feel the same to another. Many retailers offer in-store test drives or return policies that allow you to try out a mattress for a certain period of time before making a final decision.

Mattress shopping with Din Djarin
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen Din sleeping more than we might typically see a titular protagonist asleep in their own show. The poor guy obviously has unfulfilled Sleep Goals. Presumably, he’s always chasing rest because whenever he gets a chance to grab a nap, he’s pretty much vertical…
Even when he does get reasonably horizontal, it’s never in particularly comfortable places…
And the time he spends passed out from injuries can’t be restful either…
I just wanna take him mattress shopping and get him the deepest, comfiest, pocket-sprung memory foam mattress, put it somewhere quiet (his nice new Nevarro cabin, for example 🤔), cover it with 1000-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and a heavy duvet and fluffy pillows, get him into some comfy jammies and all tucked in, then turn out the lights and leave him to get a proper eight hours’ sleep uninterrupted.
I’ll have his caf ready when he wakes up ☕️
#i could be so good for him#by making sure he’s well rested#not because we could do other things in that bed#well maybe that too but rest comes first#(then me)#(then him)#😏#edgar’s ears aren’t pointy enough to be grogu’s 🫠#the mandalorian#din djarin#mando#mandalorian#pedro pascal#pedro pascal characters#the mandolarian#the mandolorian#whistling birds will queue well

𑣲 IN WINTER, I COLLAPSE. ft haruchiyo sanzu.
⠀ — when an emotional tolerance reaches a whopping zero.
⚠︎ whats a vent fic lol idk wym. sad sack reader && sad themes and u get the idea. kantou!sanzu && gn reader (princess used once)
“let's go for a walk.”
sanzu watched, somewhat startled, as you sprung up from his bed. remaining lying on his back, he stared, missing the warmth that had been abruptly stolen from his chest. the look on his face would almost lead you to believe you had an extra head on your shoulders.
he peered to the clock on his bedside table.
“…it’s three in the morning.”
“so?”
“so let’s go at a normal fucking hour, i'm tired.”
he rolled over onto his side, fluffing a pillow to try and find a comfortable position. you only responded with a huff. when he didn’t feel your weight return to the mattress beside him, he turned (while suppressing a very dramatic groan) back around to see you shimmying on a pair of sweatpants.
“suit yourself, i'll be back in a little.”
sanzu could have let his eyes roll back into the deepest part of his skull. before you could exit his bedroom, he brushed some hair out of his face, the hues of rose muddled by the lack of light, and propped himself up on his elbows.
“oi.”
you took a quick glance behind you.
“let me get dressed, i’ll drive us.”
“i wanna walk.”
“you’re gonna be too tired to walk back, i’m not listenin’ to yer cryin’ and moanin’.”
sanzu watched you cross your arms and turn back around.
“i’m just gonna walk.” and leave.
you didn't hear the hasty footsteps behind you until you were halfway down the stairs to his apartment, and the cool february air was already biting your skin.
“will you fuckin’ slow down?”
any other day you’d without fail speed up to piss him off, but you halt.
“i never said i wouldn’t go.”
throughout your impromptu walk down the street, you bathed in silence. the overcast sky and grey clouds hiding the moon away were more than enough to make said silence feel heavier than it was.
your eyes, normally unfocused and flickering around to whatever catches their attention, were chained to your shoes. your hands, usually glued to his own, were locked away in the pockets of your his jacket. sanzu didn't like how…dejected you looked.
“hey.”
haruchiyo spoke up, his quiet voice resonating faintly through the deserted streets. you stopped on one foot, finally looking up and beside you. he grabbed you by your fingers and began pulling you along, towards a park you otherwise would have passed,
“come sit.”
towards a barren swing set.
“you gonna tell me what’s goin’ on with you?”
you were on the swing next to sanzu when he turned to look at you. he nearly missed your feeble shoulder shrug.
“dunno what you’re talking about.” you were speaking through pouted lips, once more refusing to make eye contact with him. you twisted and fiddled with a small ring on your baby finger, your cheek wedged between your teeth.
“tellin’ me you wanted to walk around in the freezing cold for fun?”
“your room was too warm.”
yeah, and that’s why you were clinging to him before leaving, right? sanzu shakes his head.
“at three in the morning?”
“no time like the present.
he clenched his jaw.
“you’re in slippers.”
“bad shoe ergonomics can cause terrible long term problems, haruchiyo.”
“cut the bullshit. talk to me.”
you didn’t.
once more, only the sporadic sound of a car passing the park could be heard for miles around. did you even want to speak? was venting the feelings swirling around in your brain worth the effort? was it worth the possibility of feeling worse after acknowledging them? did you have the strength, or even the innermost self-knowledge, to express your thoughts?
…it was worth a shot, right? to at least try and climb out of the black hole that was your brain? just this once?
“…i think something in my head is fundamentally broken.”
sanzu raised his head at your abrupt remark. he was waiting for you to go on, but you stopped.
“what makes you say that?”
you look up from the ground for only the second time since your departure. smoke is being produced out your nose from your breathing, and the rusted street light to your right is illuminating it.
“i don’t think i know how to just exist.”
sanzu wrinkles his brow.
“everyone else can do it. everyone else can just— can just be. i can’t do that. it’s not fair.”
your eyes fell to the mulch underneath your feet again. haruchiyo slowly nodded along.
“it’s so fucking exhausting, you know? to see everyone around you just live? while the whole time you’re watching, all you can think is: ‘why can’t i do that? is there something wrong with me?’”
your weight caused the rusty swing chains to creak.
it’s a me thing. it’ll always be a me thing. and it’s not like i can just rewire my brain to work right. something in it is just busted and it’ll always be like that.”
“hey.”
haruchiyo interrupted. he finally stood up from his swing– (unable to ignore just how cold his ass was from the melted snow on his pants–) and walked in front of you, placing both his hands on your shoulders. he bent to rub the back of your head as it dropped tiredly against his stomach, as if holding it up any longer was far too demanding.
“there’s nothin’ wrong with you. don’t say shit like that.”
your hands reached weakly for his waist, fingers pink and numb from the cold, trembling either from the weather or the effort your body was putting in to keep you from crying. how feebly you clung to him almost caused him to frown.
“i don’t wanna do it anymore. i’m tired.”
sanzu helped you to stand up so he could properly embrace you. he tucked your head protectively under his chin, his body heat bringing the warmth return to your frostbitten cheeks while he rubbed circles on your shoulder blades.
“i know, princess.” he hoped that the wet spot forming on his shirt was just more melted snow.
sanzu really did know. it wasn’t so much of an attempt at comfort as it was him truly saying he knew how you felt. after all, the strong aren’t always born noble.
“the world is un-fuckin’-bearable sometimes,” he began, “the one thing you can’t let it do is eat you alive.
you’re not weak. you’ll be alright.”
you sniffled. “i think it’s fucking stupid.”
at that, he snorted, shaking his head and pulling you away from him. your cheeks were dried off by cold hands, and your red nose was kissed by even colder lips.
“thanks.”
haruchiyo ruffled your hair.
“don’t try’n keep me out of your head next time. you know i’ll break my way in there if i hafta.” his arm perfectly encircled your shoulders as he drew you back to his side. your lips curved into a thin smile
“i'll try. no promises, though.”
he pinched your arm, earning a chuckle from you.
“cmon, let's go back to my place.”
the dull winter scenery was becoming a bit depressing. the realisation that you had to walk all the way back was the only thing more upsetting.
the walk back was much nicer, having felt like all the weights on your shoulders were left on the rickety kids swing.
on your journey, what no one could have expected was your groaning and complaining.
“holy shit it’s fucking freezing, why didn’t we take your bike?”
sanzu pushed you into a nearby snow bank.

Hunters and Prey
(Teehee, Matteo belongs to @contrastparadoxx !! who helped edit this drabble)
Here's the thing- Loneliness had never been a question from which he expected an answer. It was a presuit predator. It followed him at a steady, constant pace. His thoughts were only ever on moving fast enough to not be caught, right now. He did not imagine a life where he was not being hunted. Sweeps later trolls would say to him, it must have been so boring, living alone on that planet for sweeps. But he had never been bored. He could not afford to be. There was always food to be gathered, hunted. There was always more ruins to explore. There was always books to devour and skills to practice and more work to be done. If there was no work, there was nothing to think about. If there was nothing to think about, loneliness would hit him like a derailed train, an animal too big to fight or escape. It would throw him around in its jaws as if he were a toy, it would leave him bloody and bruised with a consuming dread that something was missing. His body knew something was missing before his mind.
When he was younger, Papparav had visited. He had appeared at the doorway and took Lakrav in his arms, he taught him to read, and to speak. He would tell him funny stories about far away places and mystical things, words he had to write down to look up in the dictionary later but sometimes still failed to understand. It has been sweeps since Papparav came. Lakrav thinks of him all the time. He could not conceive of a universe bigger than the gentle safety of his ancestors arms. When he hoped it was always for his return. There was no way, he could have predicted what was right in front of him. The foxtroll stands still for a moment, before slowly peeling his snow goggles off his face. The winds were low.
The snare had been set off, but not by a deer, or a moose, or even a rabbit or bird. It was easy to tell what had been upended by the rope was not an animal. His clothes were a dark, fleece-y gray that was not suited for this weather. He was shorter than him, but not by much. It was hard to tell when he was suspended upside down by a single leg. A trail of oddly colored blood dotted sparsely on the snow showed he had come from the east. He had already been bleeding when he was caught in the snare. It was likely the blood loss that rendered him unconscious. Lakrav circles the hanging troll, wide eyed, as if he could open his eyes wide enough to suddenly understand what he was seeing.
The caught troll had weird ears- they were not pointed like his, but instead sprung from his head in a strange pink fan, like an angry, oddly beautiful lizard. The blood was very, very pink. The wound was unlike any he had seen from a scratch or a bite or a trip or even frostbite. It was like a tiny little circular punch through the person's side, made easily visible by how his shirt hung down backwards towards the forest floor. Lakrav circles him, he looks through his pockets. There are some things he recognized as useful. A pen, a knife, a small piece of paper. There were some he immediately discarded. A tiny leather pouch full of plastic squares, one with a photo of the troll's head and writing on them. A little metal box with some buttons. He did not know what a phone was, and, not knowing how to turn it on, tossed it. He takes more time than perhaps he should have, before gently lowering the troll back to the earth. The candyblood thinks for a moment, before wrapping the sleeping body up in a sheet, and loading him onto the sled as if he were any other kill.
.
.
.
.
.
Lakrav probably didn’t need to have dressed his wound so thoroughly, (he had no idea of the troll’s regenerative powers) but he did. He didn’t have the sense or the know-how to try and remove the bullet from the body, he probably could not have guessed it was there. But he had carefully disinfected the wound, and stitched it shut with three well placed vertical mattress sutures, interrupted. He had switched him into clean, dry clothes, fleece and wool pants and a colorful t-shirt, leaving only the man’s undamaged jacket wrapped around his shoulders. He had set him by a fireplace, and put on a pot of stew and tea, guessing the troll should probably eat after the amount of blood he lost.
And then he had left him there, going to work on his other chores while the fushia’s body slowly warmed and healed. There were still animals to be cleaned, more prepping to be done for the cold season. He could not afford to lose an entire day to this strange circumstance. An hour or two passed before the man started to stir, his eyes blinking slowly in a strange, sleepy half squint at the warm tones of the place that surrounded him. He took in the smell of herbs and meat, the crackling of the fire, the softness of fabric on his skin, the faint and distant pain in his side. A strange feeling of safety overtook him for a long, half awake moment. But slowly, his eyes started to actually process what surrounded him.
The sight of the room he was laying in makes so little sense that Matteo briefly wonders if something bad happened when all the blood went to his head. The place sits at an ever so slight tilt, snow up to chest height stacked up in the windows. Some parts of it bore the marks of a hunter- animal pelts, bones, weapons and ropes glinting sinisterly in the firelight. But right beside them, there are stuffed animals- colorful and garish fabrics hung like decorative drapes on the wall. There are bright pictures of plants, some more well done than others. A little down the hall, there is a massive map. It seems to show the whole of the long abandoned colony where Lakrav had spent his entire life. A good portion of it was marked by a long, meandering trail of Xes. The Xes at the end of the trail are quick, steady, and decisive. The ones at the beginning are shaky, overlarge and colored, as if made by a child. The room is littered with half finished art projects. There is a corner of the room where, inexplicably, five long rows of various minion and spongebob plushies are hung like a watchful jury. He would laugh, if he was not so scared.
Suddenly, the man in the adjacent room perks up, perhaps having heard him shuffling with a very attuned ear. Lakrav steps out of the animal cleaning room, hanging up an apron and some gloves on the wall. The bloodstains on these items seem to do little work to ease Matteo’s anxiety, even with the childish and curious look on the man's face. Lakrav walks over, leaning over the fushiablood, who recoils ever so slightly. He does not seem to have a great idea of personal space.
“Hi!” he says. “You’re awake!”
Matteo does not answer, not sure if he could find a way how to, even if it weren’t for the months-long period of going non-verbal he was already enduring. Why is this guy so close to his face?
“Do you speak standard?” The man asks. “Do you want soup? Do you want tea? Who are you? What's your name? Why are you here? Did Papparav send you? Do you know him? Why do you have a crown? Why are you dressed so weird? Do you want to be friends? Are you good or evil?” He asks in succession, his social skills clearly a little rusty from lack of use. And then continues to stare as the fushiablood proceeds to answer none of these questions.
“What did this to you?” He says, pointing at the bullet wound. “You fell over on a pointy rod, heh? A perfectly circular bee?” He asks.
And the question itself is so bizarre that without even thinking, the word,
“What…?” Escapes Matteo’s lips.
The foxtroll lights up.
“You do talk!” He exclaims.
“It… seems I do” Matteo says slowly, as if just as surprised to discover this as his companion is.
“You should really have soup” Lakrav decides, stepping back to ladle some into a bowl from the pot. “You lost a lot of blood.”
“It’s- I’m-“ He begins to object, but then as the smell gets closer his body seems to realize that he is, in fact, hungry. He takes the bowl in his hands, warming them.
“I’m Lakrav,” Says Lakrav, pouring himself a cup of tea. “What’s your name?”
“…Matteo,” The fushia says, short answers still easier.
“Who hurt you?” The other troll asks, blowing gently on his mug. “What’s this?” He says, pointing to the crown on his head. Repeating his earlier questions as if he did not grasp the man may have had a reason not to answer them.
“I was, attacked” Matteo says, in between soup spoonfuls. His hand going to the little golden band that wrapped around the Heir's head. “It’s- a sign of royalty.” He sighs, “I’m a Prince” He says, not sounding that happy about it.
“Heh,” Lakrav says. “I didn’t think it was real! Wow! A Prince!” with incredibly genuine enthusiasm for a turn of phrase that would have lent itself so well to sarcasm anywhere else. “I hoped you were a chef, heh” He admits, touching his beanie.
“Wha- why?” The fuchsia stutters.
The mutant leans over and presses a single metal finger to his shoulder.
“You have a fork on your shirt” He jokes.
Matteo pauses, and looks down at the trident stitched onto his uniform’s jacket, then back at the stranger. “…I think it’s actually a threek”
“A three-k” Lakrav echoes, with a blank expression, silent for a moment, and then suddenly bursts out into vicarious laughter, like a man who has not heard a joke from someone else in a long, long while.
“Eheheh!!! That’s not a real word” He says, jovially lightly punching the other guy's shoulder, before suddenly frowning, remembering his wound.
Matteo winces ever so slightly, but cannot help but let a tiny smile tug at his face for a half second. He takes in the strangely hard and cold feel of the punch, and the shininess of the mutant's hands.
"Sorry" Lakrav says.
“What happened to your fingers?” Matt answers.
“Hmm?” Lakrav says, holding up his hands. His palms are flesh, but the digits themselves are clearly metal, held in place by a bony little exoskeleton that rested on top of the skin.
“Frostbite” he says, his tone still light and easy. “When I was six. You are lucky I found you so soon, ya? You might have lost some too” He grins, with all the casual tone of someone talking about their breakfast.
“Right” Matteo replies, thinking about attempting to explain his deepdweller traits that allowed him to survive lower temperatures, but quickly surmises it would likely be more trouble than it’s worth.
“How did you get here?” Lakrav asks, ever curious. “I’ve never seen anybody besides Papparav around here.”
“My ship,” He explains. “To observe the planets state”
“A ship!” Lakrav says. “Like a pirate? Are there more of you?” He seems very thrilled. He’s very close to Matt’s face again. It was hard enough to wrap his head around one troll- a whole ship of them! Who would have thunk?
“Yes,” Says Matteo, his fins pinned back in discomfort. “But-” He starts, his hand going to his wound, probably in an indication that he and the people on his ship were perhaps not quite on each other's sides right now. But he is interrupted.
“Can I meet them?” Lakrav says, with unbridled enthusiasm.
“I don’t think… that’d be wise” He deflects, staring at the troll across from him.
“Why not?”
“For the…” Matteo trails off. He attempts to figure out how to answer, gesturing in hopes the candyblood will pick up on his subtext. “Obvious… reasons?”
“The reasons?” Lakrav answers, his eyes still wide with more curiosity than hurt. “They are not obvious to me.”
The Fushia paused as he stared into the open trusting eyes of the troll across from him. Pupils like deep weights that were unwillingly dragging his heart down lower into his chest. Did he really- have to be the one? To have this conversation with him?
“You don’t… know…?” He says, slowly.
“Know what?” Lakrav answers.
“You’re a mutant?” Matteo says, his mouth almost wincing around the words leaving him, fins now both back and down. At least there was no one to be mad that he was showing his emotions on his sleeve.
“You know what?” Lakrav says. “I don’t. Let me go find my dictionary.” He says, with a joyful thumbs up, setting down his tea and walking back to his bookshelf, pulling an old, old standard dictionary off the wall, and leafing through it. The man reads the definition, and then frowns, reading it again, once, twice over, his brow furrowing in confusion and upset.
“This is a bad word” He says, sounding a little hurt.
“It’s-” Matteo stutters.
“Listen” Lakrav says, that trace of pain in his voice turning to righteous anger. “If we’re going to be friends. You can’t be calling me these kinds of things.”
“It’s- no, uhm” Talking was starting to hurt, after months of doing none. “Not… meant as an insult. Just- just a descriptor.”
“Well” The troll huffs, closing his eyes. “I think you are a mutant.” He says, clearly still caught up in his misinterpretation of the definition that this was an insult that could be applied to just about anyone, like idiot, or freak.
“I think you are being a total mutant to me right now” He says, crossing his arms.
“Im… a Fushia?” Matteo attempts. “I don’t think that word means what you think it means.”
“It doesn’t?” Lakrav asks.
“Its-“ he worries, biting his lower lip, careful to not let his sharp teeth draw blood “Uhm, okay. Maybe it's a bad word. But it’s only ever used to refer to people like you- with strange blood colors or traits outside of the norm.”
“Why isn’t there a nicer word for that?” Lakrav asks, with seemingly genuine curiosity.
Matteo stares at him for a long while, before breaking eye contact, his face turning to the wall.
“I can’t answer that,” he says.
“Hmm” Lakrav says, picking up some of his subtext all the same. “You say this to me like it’s a very bad thing. Does it mean I am sick or something? Why wouldn’t somebody want to be one? I like my blood. It’s one of my favorite colors.”
“There are a lot of people” The fleet troll says slowly. “Who really hate mutants. They don’t think they should exist. They will likely treat you harshly. It’s dangerous for people like you.”
“I’m sure they would not feel this way,” Lakrav says, with unabashed confidence. “If they got to know me.”
“Many won’t try.” Matteo answers. Lakrav stares at him for a long moment, before his shoulders fall, disappointed.
“Are you one of these people?” He asks.
He opens his mouth to answer, but there is a sudden bang on the door, and Matteo goes deathly still.
Another bang, and it falls open, a whirlwind of ice cold snow overtaking the room instantly chilling both inhabitants. The fire dims in its place, and Lakrav stands up immediately.
“Hey!” He says. “Could you close that!” He pleads.
The perpetrator of this break in steps forward, glancing around the room.
“What kind of fucking circus is this, Princeling” She says dryly, glancing around at the strange decor, resting her chin on her hand. She does not bother to answer Lakrav’s question, her eye’s immediately locking in on the other highblood in the room. “Do you have any idea how much time and money we just wasted, me and the crew wandering around in sub zero looking for you? I’m going to write to the higher ups. Thought you were over this nonsense.” She complains. The neutrality of her tone does not mask the venom of its intentions. She then looks away, pressing a button on the black earpiece that clings to her pointed ears.
“This is Habitt Ferawn back to the Raptor. I have him. In some kind of underground lair with a possible hostile. Call back the scouts onboard, I can handle it.”
Lakrav pauses, wary, not knowing much about technology, he is hopelessly confused about who she is talking to. He glances back at Matteo. “Is she a prince too?”
Matteo only looks back helplessly, seeming to have lost the words that had been quietly making their way back to him.
The purpleblood turns to him. “Who’s your friend?” She says.
Matteo drags himself to his feet, not saluting the woman, because, of course, she was of slightly lower rank, but all of the sudden standing like a soldier, his mildly baffled tone turning into a reserved one so fast and hauntingly it was like a switch had been flipped. Lakrav squints at his new friend.
“Officer Habitt,” Matteo begins. “He found me when I was injured. He took me here and nursed me back to health. He is not hostile.”
Habitt tilts her head. “Of course you’d find your voice now.” She says. “Of all times. You better not have snuck him in on the convoy, there haven’t been trolls on this planet for thousands of sweeps.” She accuses.
“There have been trolls on this planet for ten sweeps” Lakrav asserts. “Because that’s how old I am.”
Habitt stares at him for a moment, not dignifying this with an answer either. Nor asking the mutant any of her own questions about his situation, because well, she truly cared that little. It would not change how she thought of him. The cerulean pulls a short range pistol from her holster.
“Wait! M’am!” Matteo exclaims suddenly, his eyes widening, the man snaps into action, and tackles her just before she fires the shot, successfully deflecting it into the nearby wall.
Lakrav pauses. His hand going to his knife in his pocket. He glances at the circular hole in the wall, and the loud noise, and Matteo’s reaction, and quickly pieces it together.
“She hurt you with that,” He says, taking a step back, remembering the Prince’s wound.
“He lived.” The purpleblood answers. “He heals.”
“Listen,” The Fushia pleads. “Respectfully, Officer Habitt, we could-”
“You can’t expect me” Habitt frowns, but seems more mildly surprised by this development than anything. “To leave him here? A random unregistered Candyblood on an empty planet? Just you wait, Princeling, they breed like roaches.” She says, hitting him hard and square with her elbow, and Matteo lets go, and she re-aims the pistol.
Lakrav draws his knives in answer.
“Officer Habitt!” Matt cries, again, knowing how a knife brought to a gunfight ends. “Habitt, M’am, We could take him with us! We could- we could escort him back to the ship and acquire him. He could be of use to the fleet.” He begs, probably the longest string of sentences he has formed this night. “He has skills.”
“Well if you’re going to be a bitch about it” She says, a surprisingly crude response for how put together Matteo’s plea had just been. “Fine.”
Lakrav pauses, never having been asked his opinion on all of this. Part of him, in his overconfidence, truly believed he could take that woman in a fight.
“Go back to your ship?” He asks Matteo “With the crazy lady?”
“Please,” Matteo whispers. “She’ll kill you otherwise.”
“Not the right way to treat a guest.” The foxtroll answers.
“We can go anywhere in the galaxy” The man says. “Just come with me”
That, at last, finally seems to grasp the mutant. Anywhere. With a desperate tug, his feelings on the situation pull in a landslide the opposite direction. Anywhere?
Here it is, the moment he had heard about in storybooks since he was but a child. He had not imagined it coming quite so literally. Come on Lakrav, you know how this one goes. A Prince finds a Princess in a tower. Happily ever after. Why does he hesitate to step forward? The dreamer in him wants to lunge. The hunter in him wants to wait, is too familiar with traps not to recognize a shiny bit of meat on a stick. This cannot be safe. This was the very woman who hurt his new friend.
But… he cannot stay. He cannot fit the leviathan of this friendship back into the tiny box he called home now that it had been taken out. The moment the world got wider is also the moment these walls started closing in.
And he knows, from the hairs rising on the back of his neck, in the shadows of this tiny well-loved cavern of trophies, Loneliness waits. Loneliness lowers its weight to its haunches, loneliness softly treads across the floor, silent and deadly as a ghost, its lips watering and its eyes fixed. Caught up at last. An animal that could never have been more rabid, could never have been more hungry, could never have been more terrifying, more ready to kill him than it was at this very second. So it was a trap- it might not be one he would have to escape alone. Slowly, Lakrav steps forward.
“You will protect me?” He says, more of a demand than a question, even in a voice as open and passive as his always was.
“Yes,” Matteo says. And maybe he could, with his rank and his status.
And Lakrav stares back, his head tilted ever so slightly to the side with the questioning glance of a troll who had never, that he knew of, been lied to. He breaks eye contact, turning away. He gives one last glance to the room he had spent his whole life coming home to behind him. The mutant pauses, walking just over to the side, staring forlornly at his minion and spongebob plushie wall. He seems to debate between them for a second before grabbing a medium sized, slightly fuzzy one, and tucking it under his arm. He walks back over, and with his free arm, takes the fushia’s hand in his.
“Okay” He says, “Let's go.”
And he follows Fleet Officer Matteo Nyxxus out the door.

Chances - Chapter 13
Summary: After waking up, Jordan speaks with her parents. And after minor vampire business in the basement, the boys properly introduce themselves. And Marko and Jordan's relationship is questioned.
I felt motivated enough to write the next chapter sooner than later. Sorry if this part feels short, the next one will expand on this chapter.
Chapter 12 <<< >>> Chapter 14
TW//Murder ment. Blood
----------------------------------------------
The sun is fully down by the time Jordan gets up, and to her surprise, the boys are all still sleeping. Except for David, who is nowhere to be found. Jordan sits up in her bed rubbing the sleep from her eyes and she soon feels the pang of hunger in her stomach. She hasn’t eaten anything recently. “David must’ve gone to eat…” She thinks. She then hears a yawn come from Paul and he mumbles something at Marko who just growls and nuzzles into his neck further. Jordan reaches for a coin in her pocket and chucks it at Marko which is enough to startle him awake.
“Morning sleepyhead, you know where David went?” Jordan stands up from her bed.
“Mmmm…nope.” Marko unlatches from Paul and lets go of the pipe to stand on his own two feet. “Didn’t even know he left.”
“He probably got early night munchies, I’m sad he didn’t invite us though.” Paul says, still hanging from his spot. “Dwaaayne, can we go get something to eat?” He cranes his neck to look at the vampire who is still laying on the mattress seemingly in no rush to go anywhere.
Dwayne rolls over and looks at him for a minute before saying “Piss off and let me sleep.” He resumes his original sleeping position while Paul unlatches from his spot looking offended.
“Fine, then imma sleep with you until you're ready to get up.” Paul joins him on the mattress while he groans exasperatedly.Jordan and Marko look at each other and chuckle lightly.
Jordan realizes that she’s gonna have to confront her parents, so she heads for the stairs but stops after hearing Marko follow her like a puppy. She stops and turns around putting a hand on his chest keeping him from moving any further.
“Stay here, I don’t know what my parent’s stance is right now. I will tell you if you can come up. Just, stay here.” Marko feels a little sad, but he agrees and backs away leaving her to go. As she goes up the stairs, he goes to her bed and lays down on it. He relishes her scent still lingering on it, he reaches for the pillow and hugs it as if he were hugging her. He purrs slightly before Paul interrupts, “If you love that pillow so much why don’t you kiss it?” Marko chucks the pillow at him causing him to cackle. “Shut up. I’m getting there.” Marko rolls over so he can avoid looking at him. He really does feel like his relationship with her will blossom, and he's sure the boys believe it too.
---------
The dining table was filled with tension and curiosity coming from Jordan’s parents while she sat in a chair thinking about what to say. Everything last night happened so fast that she had to be careful when choosing her words.
“Alright, I know you’re mad and confused. But let me start by saying that everything that happened was not my fault…but I’m still sorry about what happened.” She shrunk down in her seat as she genuinely was worried about what her parents were going to say.
Both of her parents looked at each other and then back at their incredibly distressed daughter, then her mother spoke first. “Listen Jordan, me and your father have been thinking-”
“Are you kicking me out?!?!?! Jordan sprung up from her chair knocking it over looking terrified. “Man I knew I fucked up big time! I should’ve tossed their asses out as soon as I-”
“SHUT YOUR YAPPING AND LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!” Her father slammed his fist down on the table while her mother just sighed. Jordan collected herself and fixed up her chair finally taking a seat again.
“Okay firstly, I’m not kicking you out so relax. What I wanted to say was that me and your father wanted to talk to your ‘friends’.” Jordan releases a breath she didn’t even know she was holding.
“But just know, if I don’t like these guys-” His wife nudges him and he corrects himself “I mean if WE don’t like your friends, then we either want them gone. Or if you like them so much, then we want you out.”
Jordan lets out an audible gulp at her father’s statement, the thought of losing her only bit of humanity haunted her to her very core. She sat up straight in her chair. “I swear to you guys, they aren’t that bad. They are just…not very familial. I think. I don’t know much about them.”
“Well, now will be your chance to learn about them. What are they up to now?” Her mother asks right on cue as they all hear shuffling and talking from the basement.
“I’ll go check on em.” Jordan gets up and looks down the stairs only to be greeted by the boys circling two random guys and they are seemingly ready to eat them. David also seems to have returned and she noticed blood on his face as he watched the feast about to go down. They all look up and her and the randos yell for her help, but she quickly slams the door back shut keeping her back turned to her parents.
“Is everything alright?” Her mother asks. Jordan turns around and her eyes are a mix of red and yellow and she strained a smile on her face.
“Yup…all good. They were just doing something.” She leans against the door trying to avoid her vampire visage from taking over due to her hunger of blood finally getting the better of her. She could feel her parents tense up.
“You don’t look alright.” Her dad comments at the look of pain on Jordan’s face. She then feels a painful pang of hunger hit her and she folds like a paper and slides down the door and onto the floor.
“Nope, all good here.” At that moment, they all hear blood curdling screams coming from the basement and her parents look horrified. Despite knowing she was a vampire, they’ve never seen her make a kill. So hearing what it sounded like chilled them to their cores. Jordan inhales and gets up making a decision “Excuse me, I haven’t eaten. Promise it’ll be quick.” She goes downstairs and joins the boys. She watches as they all tear their victims apart and growl at each other. Paul and Dwayne shared a body while Marko hogged one for himself. Upon seeing her enter the room, Marko looks up from his meal and while he doesn’t speak a single word, Jordan knows he’s willing to share. She caved immediately as the urge was killing her.
After a few minutes, her parents hear her come up the stairs and upon watching her enter the room they are horrified. Covered in blood and licking what was left on her fingers, she walked towards them nonchalantly. “I know this looks bad…and it is. But I promise, this won’t happen again. And I’ll lay some ground rules for the boys."
------
After the little feast that was had, all the boys were seated at the dining room table that was promptly covered in plastic so as not to get blood on the seats and table. The boys all sat politely as they waited for Jordan’s parents to speak. Her father spoke first.
“Alright, let me get something straight. I’m already on the edge of not liking you rats, so you’re all on thin ice. You all better be like Mr. Roger's kids or I’m gonna have a lot of problems with you all!” He spoke with such authority and Dwayne, Paul and Marko looked to David to see what he would say.
“Well, I'm no Mr. Rogers. I've been more considered a thief, or even a cowboy by some. But if your precious daughter tells me you guys are of no concern, then I guess I'll spare you all. I’m David by the way. Your name?” He nods in his direction.
“The name is Harold, this is Jane.” He puts a protective arm around his wife and she smiles hesitantly at David who just stares at her.
“Nice to meet ya guys, I’m Paul. Gotta say, love the house and sorry about the window thing. Dwayne has no self control.” He points to Dwayne’s stoic form with his hands neatly folded on the table. He looks at Paul and cuffs the side of his head.
“I’m Dwayne, sorry about the window. If you want I’ll fix it.” Jane looks him up and down and seemingly looks interested.
“I figured you were a handy man with that body of yours.” Dwayne perks up looking surprised at her sudden comment while Paul and Marko laugh. Jordan looks embarrassed and speaks up. “Ma! Show some restraint!”
Harold then speaks up adding onto his wife’s comment “Why do you think she married me? I used to be just like him.” He smiled and Jordan just sank in her chair groaning while Paul was trying not to vomit from laughing and Dwayne joined in on the laughing. Hell, even David chuckled a bit. Marko scooted his chair closer to hers and slung an arm around her “Cmon, it’s funny. I see why you care for them so much.” At this, Jordan couldn’t help but smile at him. She sat up and soon the whole table went silent and both Marko and Jordan were confused. Then her dad dropped the bomb.
“Well Well Well, so that person you went out with…I think I know who it was.” He was clearly hinting at Marko who just sat like a deer in headlights. He let go of Jordan in a panic and they both turned away from each other. “Hey bud, don’t hide it. State your name and business with my daughter. I ain’t stupid.” He looked at him firmly and Marko straightened himself out.
“I’m Marko, and I’m only friends with your daughter.” David scoffs and Paul groans.
“Liar Liar pants on fire! You know you love her. You defended her yesterday, brought her home after the holy water incident and watched her slee-” Marko slammed his fist on the table and yelled.
“SHUT UP, PAUL! Maybe I do like her but that doesn’t mean I’m dating her.” Marko snaps. Harold and Jane both raise an eyebrow getting wary of him. If he could blush he would, then he looks at Jordan who just stares at him with a look of fear mixed with confusion.
“You watched me sleep?” She asked him.
“No! Or at least, not in a creepy way.” He puts his hands up in defense and looks to his brothers sourly before her parents speak.
“Jordan, tell me. Are you dating him?” Jordan perks up and feels anxiety creeping up her spine. She looks all around the table. Her parents look at her curiously, Paul, Dwayne and David just watch her making her even more worried. Then she looks at Marko, he starts biting his thumb anxiously awaiting her answer. Jordan thought for a moment, she knew Marko had been obsessed with her for months now. She’s given him a chance and seen that he’s treated her pretty well, hell he saved her and her parents from David’s wrath. But she didn’t know if she was ready to consider herself in a relationship with him yet. All she could think of was of her previous relationship, as much as she fought to move past the whole thing, it's biting the back of her neck still bugging her. She exhaled and everyone waited in bated breath. Jordan looked at Marko once again then back to her parents and said nothing. She answered with a single action. She simply shrugged her shoulders, because in all honesty…she didn’t even know.
Harold and Jane both sighed in unison and the boys all just sat back in their chairs. Marko just looked at Jordan and couldn’t help but feel a little hurt, he thought he was doing everything right. He put his hands on the table after giving his thumb a thorough biting. Then he felt the feather touch of something brush his hand. He looked over to see Jordan reaching towards him. Her hand kept edging towards his almost like an offering, not a single word nor sound came from her mouth during the exchange. Jordan stared at nothing in particular, but she never pulled away. Marko couldn’t help but ask her.
“Are you sure?”
She came to and finally looked at him, but still not uttering a single word. Marko flips his hand over so his palm is up, and Jordan’s hand starts moving to hover above his own. With the gentlest of movement she lowers her own and into his and turns her gaze to her own hand watching it so intensely. It’s like she’s fighting to complete the simple action, Marko could only watch as she struggled. A part of him wanted to complete the action, but he wanted her to do her part just to be sure that she wanted this. No strings attached. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, she was palm to palm with him and she was finally able to intertwine her fingers into his hand and at that moment, he completed the action by doing the same. Jordan releases a breath she had been holding in, and looks Marko in the eyes. She smiles, and Marko smiles while letting out a stifled sounding laugh. Jordan looks to her parents.
“I am…” She scoots her chair closer to him and leans into his side keeping her hand locked with his. Marko leans into her and uses his free hand to hold her close. Now that he had her, he wasn’t letting her go.

How to make the best mattress choice for you
In truth, a lot of factors, such as the cause of your back discomfort and your weight, affect find out more here which mattress is ideal for you.
Try before you buy used to be the finest advice anyone could give you when purchasing a mattress, but times have changed. It's not always true that the mattress that feels greatest to you when you try it out for a few minutes in a showroom will feel the same when you get it home. After all, a well-used mattress that you test out in a store would probably show more signs of wear and tear than a brand-new mattress that is brought to your house.
Which types of mattress are best springs or foam?
In general, mattresses can be categorized as having springs or not. The latter, typically composed of foam, have grown to be highly well-liked recently. Memory foam is excellent at absorbing movement and cushioning bony protrusions, although it frequently feels warmer than a sprung mattress and can become softer as the bed warms up.
The greatest mattresses offer plenty of support and padding whether you choose foam, springs, or a combination of the two, so your decision will ultimately come down to personal preference.
What is a mattress that comes in a box?
You've probably seen television commercials for bed-in-a-box mattresses, which are growing in popularity. Instead of being delivered as a fully formed mattress, these all-foam or hybrid choices come vacuum-packed and coiled up super king size mattresses in a box. They become much simpler to deliver and manoeuvre as a result. After being unpacked, they immediately start to expand, and after a few hours, they are prepared for use as beds.
What should I budget?
The options are practically endless in terms of price, but as our collection demonstrates, a high-quality product need not be extremely expensive. Affordable foam mattresses begin at a fraction of the cost of a good, traditional pocket-sprung mattress while yet providing outstanding levels of comfort and support. However, resist the urge to base your decision on pricing alone because you would be wasting your money if the mattress didn't fit your specific size, shape, and sleeping preferences.
Mattress Thickness Determinants
The thickness of each layer inside a mattress determines its depth. The majority of mattresses have two layers inside, however premium mattresses can have three, four, or more. Different materials are present in each layer. Your mattress's comfort, support, and durability are impacted by these materials. The comfort layer and the base layer are the two fundamental mattress layers.
When Selecting a Mattress Thickness
If you want one of the most robust mattresses that remains pleasant for years, it needs to be at least 8 inches thick, with a base layer that is at least 5 to 6 inches thick, a comfort layer that is at least 2 to 3 inches thick, and several layers in between. Generally speaking, the thickness of a mattress makes it feel softer. In this part, we cover the considerations you should keep in mind while deciding on the thickness of your mattress.
