She is not unintelligent in the beginning of the novel, but still proves that it is never too late to improve one's mind through learning.

He literally learned how to be a peak lord of the scholarly peak within months, even though his loveable unreliable narrator self makes it unclear how much knowledge he got from the original goods (cultivation and muscle memory are in tact to some degree, at least)

Textual evidence: “ As Shen Qingqiu had, since his arrival, been furiously reviewing various manuals, he had also recently seen a description of it.”(ch1) where he recalls a specific technique and uses it in the moment. “Shen Qingqiu had no say in any of it. He’s also a walking monster/PIDW encyclopedia. I think his most impressive memory feat [spoiler] is navigating the Holy Mausoleum’s traps better than Tianlang-Jun. note that at this point it’s been years since he read the original book, the Mausoleum is very large, and yet he’s familiar with all the main rooms he encounters, and it’s been years since he read PIDW (the source book). He uses this knowledge to escape/outsmart Tianlang-jun.

Any intelligence he has is made up for by his loss of IQ points around the protagonist, though. And his general obliviousness to those around him.

shi mei's fans are pretty normal for streamer fans, they sometimes playfully bully shi mei a little but they're pretty chill. his fans re just there for a good time, aside from a few people who come into the stream because they want the cute femboy to be mean to them. healthy ecosystem with weirdo tourists.

chu wanning is actively antagonistic to parasociality because that's something he haaaaated when he was working for rufeng -- the boyfriend act, the "i love you <3" the petnames and shit. he will ban people who misbehave, he will ban people who have weird vibes, and he will ban people who send any compliments that seem a bit too serious.

but mo ran. mo ran has intentionally cultivated a veeeeery specific audience and a very specific sort of relationship with that audience. his business plan is being hot and making people obsessed with him, and he actively encourages it when his fans objectify/sexualize him or act parasocial. he calls his fans his "kittens", does tons of like asmr boyfriend roleplay videos. you can really tell a lot about the community a creator in those circles has cultivated by looking at their comments and their interaction with the comments. some creators highlight comments talking about their skills, or appreciating the script writing, or talking about the audio design. and some creators like comments that are like "omg ur voice made me pregnant"

mo ran is the latter

it consistently shoots him in the foot when it comes to trying to get closer to cwn.
