Poly Volturi x reader

Turning a corner you let out a long sigh. Currently you were walking around the castle just going around in circles indecisive on who you wanted to spend time with and who you wanted to ask for some.. Things.  You had woken up today to your punishment for simply being a woman. Your period. The reason you were walking around and not just lying in bed like you normally would is because this is your first time having your period in a castle full of vampires. Your period was very irregular so even though it had been a few months since your mates had found you, you’ve never bled around them before. 

You were nervous to see how they would react to it. You thought about asking Jane for some pads but then you remembered that she doesn’t have a period. And she’s probably never had one in her life to begin with. You thought about asking Felix but you felt that he would just make fun of you or tease you. Which was something you didn’t want to deal with right now. If someone teased you about something you couldn’t control you feel like you’d just snap. 

Asking Alec was just a plain no. You knew he’d just stare at you in confusion like what the hell do you mean your bleeding? With Caius you didn’t want to bother him as he was busy with trails right now with the other kings. Plus you’d have a feeling he’d want to paint with it. He has this infatuation with the way dark red blood looks. And you didn’t want him to paint a mural out of your blood for you. Though you're sure it would be gorgeous, he never disappoints you with his paintings.  

The only one that was left was Demtri. Your gentleman out of all your mates. Now you would ask him because you know he wouldn’t tease you or ask some weird request once you got what you needed but that still didn’t stop you from avoiding him also. 

So when you woke up this morning with the red sea between your legs you rushed to the bathroom and took a shower. Covering yourself in scents you’d only use if it was your last day on earth. Spraying yourself in the most expensive perfume that you could find. God do your mates love to spoil you or what? This one bottle of perfume you knew for a fact was a thousand dollars and yet they still said “It was nothing.” For once you were grateful that your room was on the far side of the castle away from all the other vampires including your mates.

You had picked this room purely based on the views that came with it. Your balcony was facing the ocean side of the castle. You could fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks. And you could watch the horizon where the moon and the sun would meet everyday, each rise and set of the moon and sun was always better than the last. That was what you loved about this castle. And that was what you loved about your wing of it. It was your small piece of the fortress and no one could take that away from you. Your love’s made sure of it. 

Taking the silk sheets off your bed you did your best to scrub them clean but of course there was still a stain. You tossed them into the hamper and made a mental note to ask the maid to come get it later for you. You placed new sheets on your bed. You changed your makeshift pad that was made of tissue then you were off to pace the halls to grow some balls.  

You wore your robes that matched all the vamps that were with the volturi, hood up and all in attempts to hide your identity. 

It didn’t work. 

You were convinced that everyone in the castle knew your scent by hard because every vampire that passed, rather they were walking normally or vamping away, they would pause in their tracks and make sure to bow to you. Though it was completely unnecessary, you loved how it made you feel. The power that you hold as just a human brung so much pride to you. The 3 kings and your mates always would tell you to own it and so you did. 

You tried hiding in the shadows when you knew that someone was coming. Pushing yourself against the walls, even turning your whole body like you were just put into time out. You knew you looked like a dumbass but that wasn’t the point nor your problem right now. All you knew was that you didn’t want to face any more people than necessary. 

Finally after what felt like hours you finally made it to the receptionist desk. You were thankful that she was even there. She was always off doing something she had no business doing. You were surprised that she hadn’t gotten herself killed yet. But today you were grateful for that. 

“What can I do to help you?” She asked, putting on a voice that you could tell was supposed to be charming. It was not.

Pulling your hood off she immediately stood from her chair but quickly dropped down to bow. 

“My queen, Is there anything I can do to assist you? Master Caius is out feeding with the others. Would you like me to retrieve him?” She asked, speaking softly. 

Respect was a big thing with the kings if someone showed you any signs of disrespect you never saw or heard from them again. So it was understandable as to why she switched up so fast. 

“No, I was wondering if you had any… You know.. Tampons or pads? Anything honestly.” You said rushing it out. But still trying to keep it low.

“Oh! Don’t you have any of that stuff? They practically treat you like royalty.” She laughed with a roll of her eyes. 

That pissed you off. She’s always had a problem with you and you’ve always kept your mouth shut but today that wasn’t how you were feeling.

“Because I am. Now if you don’t like it or respect it I have no problem having this conversion with the kings. I'm sure they would love to hear about this.” You said in a stern voice, sending her a glare. Her eyes widened, you never threatened anyone, you’ve never had to. It was always done for you if it needed to be done. 

She got up and quickly left, hoping she went to get you something, anything at this point. You could feel that your makeshift pad is not working. 

“Till we hear about what, Amore mio?” You heard behind you making you jump and turn around. When you did you were faced by the three kings themselves. You found yourself sort of stung in place. Your plan was to come get some pads and I don’t know, hide until it all went away? Horrible plan but it worked in your head. This was not a part of your plan.

“Umm nothing I was justt..” You dragged out shifting your eyes between the three. 

Aro was staring at you with his wide curious eyes. Marcus looked at you with soft knowing eyes, he always knew when things were wrong with you. And caius looked at you with narrowed eyes.

“Are you hiding something from us?” Caius questioned stepping closer to you. You felt your heart skip a beat. They heard it of course. 

“Caius can you go away?” You asked, covering your face with the palm of your hands.

“Why would I go away? Are you trying to run away?!” Cauis yelled out, making you frown.

“Caius..” Marcus sighed out. There was no doubt that Cauis’s biggest fear was you leaving him and him never being able to find you. It broke your heart that he felt he wasn’t truely loveable.

“I swear you're bipolar.” You said taking your hands off your face just in time to see the receptionist with a brown bag in her hand. When you saw this you grabbed it from her and ran as fast as you could. 

“I wanna be alone right now! No one bother me, pass the message along!” When you turned your head to see if they were behind you they weren't even there. Seeing this you stopped running and caught your breath leaning on a wall. You swear you need to work out more. Or hell even walk more, but what's the point when you can have Felix carry you everywhere? 

Since you were down here on this side of the castle you thought why not stop and get some snacks? So that’s what you did. Big mistake.

Walking into the kitchen you saw Demetri and Felix and immediately turned around hoping that they didn’t see you.

“Bellissima?” Dem said softly, making you turn around.

“Yes?” You said, just as softly.

“Are you alright?” He said, raising an eyebrow.

“Yes of course! Why wouldn’t I be?” You said shifting from side to side slightly cringing.

“What’s that sme-” Before Felix could even finish his sentence you dashed out of that kitchen and you ran. You ran straight to your room and you didn’t stop for anything or anybody. Your one mission was to get to your room and stay there. 

Once you got to your room you ran straight to the bathroom and turned the shower on. You didn’t even allow yourself to think about how embarrassingly long it took you to get to this point. You never paid attention to how many people or how many vampires live in this castle until you felt like fresh bait to them. You let yourself relax feeling the hot water hit your back. You allowed it to wash away the mixed emotions you had. 

Once you got out you did your normal hygiene routine and you felt better. You felt ready to rot in a ball for the next week. Opening your bathroom door you stopped in your tracks when you saw all of your mates standing in front of you.

“Hi..?” You said after a minute passed and no words were spoken.

“Why are you acting so strange?” Alec was the first to speak.

“How could I have been acting strange? I haven't even seen you today!” You yelled out holding onto your towel tighter. 

“Yes you have, you’ve seen us both when you were cowering into the ‘shadows’.” Jane said plainly.

“You walked right past us like you didn’t even know who we were!” Alec yelled.

“Don’t yell at me!” You yelled back at him frowning.

“Why not?! If I don’t yell you might walk right past me again!”

“Just cause I walked past you doesn’t mean you can yell at me!”

“I can do whatever-” 

“Where not going to solve this yelling at her!” Dem yelled, cutting Alec off.

“Anyone wanna talk to her and not yell at her?!” He yelled looking at the rest of your mates. 

While he eyes weren’t on you you felt your eyes water and you couldn’t stop the tears from rolling down your face. The moment you sniffled you caught everyone's attention.

“You made her cry!” Alec yelled glaring at Demetri.

“I didn’t do a damn thing!” Dem yelled back at Alec.

That started a yelling war between Alec and Dem which only made you cry harder. It was frustrating. 

“Can someone tell me what that smell is!” Felix yelled out in his own frustration. As he had been sniffing everything like a damn dog since you’ve seen him. 

“It’s me! It’s me okay? I’m fucking bleeding I’m on my period okay?! That’s why I’ve been acting weird all day it’s embarrassing and I needed some pads but I didn’t have any and I knew that none of you did and I didn’t wanna ask so I didn’t and you guess kept popping up in places that you didn’t belong and-”

“You smell good.” Felix said, making you stop immediately.

“What?” You questioned.

“Yeah you smell sweeter but at the same time dull. It’s something I’ve never smelt before. It makes my mouth water.” Felix said, staring at you with slightly darker red eyes.

“I agree.” Cauis said, looking you up and down with greedy eyes. 

“She doesn’t smell like that to me, she smells like a softer scent of her normal self.” Dem said now looking at you with a strange expression on his face.

“She smells like something that I can’t explain but it’s pleasant.” Jane said as Alec agreed with her.

“I smell good?” You questioned with your voice cracking slightly.

“You always smell good. Are you seriously telling us that this is the reason that you’ve been avoiding us? That’s a foolish reason.” Cauis said.

“I’ll go gather some stuff you’ll need.” Jane said and before you could say anything of hell even blind she was gone. 

“I’ve read a whole book about menstrual cycles before-” Felix started.

“You can read?” Alec scoffed, dodging the book Felix threw at him in reflex.

“We're gonna take good care of you, I promise.” Felix said as he appeared at your side and settled you on your bed softly. 

“Master Caius, can you lay down? As much as I don’t like to admit it, you're her favorite to lay on when she’s in pain.” He asked, even though Cauis wanted to respond to Felix's statement he kept his mouth shut for your sake.

Cauis pulled you into him as he laid down and you felt yourself relax immediately. While you felt it they could hear it. 

“I’m in my towel this is not a reliable form of protection if you catch my drift?” You said to your mates hinting at the fact that you’d like to get dressed.

“You think I care if you bleed on me Amore mio?” Caius questioned in a dull tone as if it wasn’t a big deal.

“Yes I do.” You said as a matter of fact. This sent your mates into a tumble of laughter. While you looked dumbfounded they just shook their heads.

“Sometimes I think you forget what we are.” Dem said looking at you with a soft smirk on his face.

“We eat your kind for breakfast, lunch and dinner and yet you think we are put off by a little drop of blood. That is foolish.” Cauis said, shaking his head pulling you closer to him. 

“Now relax until Jane gets back.” Felix said leaving no room for argument.

With this being said you watched as your mates took their places in your room. Alec sat in a chair that was next to your bed grabbing a book to read. Felix turned on your tv that they had installed and began flipping through the channels. And dem was busy closing all of your curtains so that the room was dark for you. You felt loved by the smallest things that they were doing. Even if it didn’t benefit you, you felt at peace with your loves just in the same place as you. 

As you close your eyes Cauis begins stroking your hair sending a small shiver down your spine due to his cold finger tips. 

“If you just let us change you you wouldn’t have to go through this pointless pain.” Cauis said, making you shake your head.

“I show one sign of pain and you already wanna kill me.” You said snuggling closer into Caius which he welcomed with open arms.

“You’d be reborn into Una versione migliore di te.” He voiced like it was nothing.

“You know that I haven’t been keeping up with my lessons with Marus!” You yelled hitting caius on his side.

“And whose fault is that?” Alec said casually flipping the page to his book he was reading. 

“Not mine actually! Because everytime I try to go to Marcus study, one of you always stops me in my tracks and leads me in a different direction!” You said pointing to each one of your mates. To which none of them could say anything because they knew that it was true.

“See.” You said smiling at the fact that there was no back talk at all. 

Some time passed and you had fallen asleep. When you woke up you felt a weight on your stomach looking down you saw that it was Jane. Her head rested on your stomach. The sun had gone completely down and it was now pitch black in your room but you felt no fear in your heart because you knew that you were safe. 

When you went to shift your legs you were placed with a reminder of why they were here in the first place. Looking down at your previously white towel you couldn’t help the words that came out of your mouth.

“Fucking hell.” You groaned, rolling your eyes.

“A little free bleeding ain’t never hurt nobody.” Felix said with a smirk that you could just feel in your soul.

“What the fuck.” You said and immediately you heard a few chuckles come from different parts of the room.

General things I like: I love plants, I used to have over 40 plants at one point. I love baking and cooking and get told I'm very good at it. I love art, plushies, music boxes, nature, nature walks, making things (like Lego or putting flatpack furniture together), puzzles, huge animal lover. I love all shades of blue including greeny blues, and dinosaurs. I taught myself simple knitting and sewing, and I would like to try and learn crochet one day. My mum says every single year how much she loves how easy I am to buy for when it comes to Christmas, my siblings are hard to buy for or only want expensive things, but as you can maybe tell, I love everything and am happy about everything haha

Things I strongly hate: Just to list a few things I cannot stand in the slightest. Table top/card/board games or anything of the sort. I hate role playing/larping. I hate all those things with an intense passion. Not a major fan of rap, rock, metal, techno and the like. I get overwhelmed super easily so I like things that are gentle, soft and chill. I am intolerant of bigots, which has landed me in trouble many times, yet I will always challenge them. And as someone who has suffered a great deal in life, I absolutely despise people who use their misery as an excuse to spread misery, I wish no one had to live a life like mine, and if I can use my pain to better others, I always will

But yeah, an extensive and detailed list of stuff I like! Probably missed some, but I think most stuff is there! Although I didn't include things I haven't touched since I was a child, like Tak, Hugo, Croc, Gex, Skulduggery, and some others

first date ever tomorrow!!

hii guys so alot happened today. like alot of big changes that seem calm now but will completely change the course of my life for years to come. soo one i finally align w my username, i got braces!!! they're actually really cute i got bubblegum pink and they didn't hurt much they only put wires on my bottom row of teeth bc they're gonna be doing extraction on the top teeth so they can't string them together yet yk but it was actually pretty painless. the feeling of the metal is really uncomfortable in my mouth though like the bite blocks they had to put i can VERY MUCH feel it's not like an actual inserted thing they just put some kind of solution or like glue where my back teeth touch so that they wouldn't grind against the brackets on my teeth and break them. so overall the braces experience thus far has been an 8/10 -2 points bc of the discomfort. i'm really excited for my teeth to start shifting though bc i've always had really crappy teeth ever since my permanent ones started coming in my overbite is 10mm long and just alot else is wrong w my teeth like in 5th grade i got called toothless by the whole grade almost bc it was so bad and it was like a known joke in my class that i had no teeth. and i have never been able to smile properly bc of like my jaw and it also looks recessed and sunken in cuz my bite and ive always put my hand over my mouth when i smile or laugh bc of this, so basically what i'm saying is it's always been a struggle with me as well as my family. i'm really really excited to have straight teeth. in a way it kind of makes me feel more connected to my dad and sam bc they got braces too. idk how to explain it.

but ANYWAYS that was like an entire entry on its own but that's not all the news (please ignore how my keyboard puts apostrophes on some words and not others it's bugging me too but i can't fix it rn so whatever). i am FINALLYYYY going on a date w and getting asked out by gp tomorrow after 11 months of waiting. it's so hard to summarize all our lore and just how badly i've wanted and wished for this but just know like i've had to sit through months of him dating someone else knowing i missed my chance and had to confess knowing we'd most likely just stay as friends no matter what i said and had to accept that unsent love letters countless diary entries a spotify playlist late night calls and conversations and endless yapping to my bsf is all it would ever be. but now it's not like that. and that's not why i'm nervous btw if i haven't said i'm nervous i am but not bc of that i'm really excited to date gp and get to know him as a bf i'm just a little scared for the actual date bc we haven't talked alot recently. it's been better these last 2 days and i've sent him stuff occasionally and we have a streak buttttt that's kinda all it's been this summer. but yk we saw eachother everyday for 1 year and were hecka close so i'm also looking forward to it and i doubt it'll be THAT bad. plus we're seeing my fav movie (eva it's all yours dw i just like it alot)!!! i was coraline for halloween 2022 and went to the museum and i've watched it countless times so. i think that'll make me more comfy in a way plus then i'll have alot more to discuss w him afterwards. he said he'd pay but i'm bringing a wallet full of money anyways bc i'm atleast offering to even if he says no and even then i'll probably ask to split it or pay for the food afterwards. anyways he's really so sweet and amazing and smart and handsome and funny and i'm reallyyyy excited to see him 🤗🤗 so hopefully it'll go good i think it will. and i'm gonna ask my dad and mom and bsf for some advice bc they have an honest view and my parents have experience w dating and eva w the actual guy having been 10 yr childhood bsfs. so yeah. i'm feeling alot better but goshhh BOYFRIEND. HES GONNA BE MY BKYFRIEND!!!! im gonna walk into school and be liek i have a real life living human br with human skin and lungs and life who breaths air and is also real and here and a bf my bf. like whay.

on the same noeeeeteeee im dividing ts so it's easier to read i'm SO excited for 8th grade. my clothes and stuff going in r sooo cute and ill have a bf and im joining sports and possibly riding the bus (some dyas) so itll be really sigma. also there's alot.of.stuff only 8th graders could do at my scuool so ill be like an ALPBQHA GRRR u know. sorry that was bad but like im not even j trying to be funny out school is the timberwilves. the halls in our school are marked by saying like "___ grade pack!" like 😅😅😅😆😆😆 no!!! actualy!!!! no!!!!!

IT WAS CORALINE SO IM NOT COMPLAINING I LOVED THE MOVIE HATED THE GATHERING

IM GONNA GIVE U A RUNDOWN ON ONE OF THESE PEOPLE. so basically!! ive been friends w her since 7th grade, and since then the dynamic in our friendship has shifted a bunch bc we've moved from friend group to friend group and whatnot so our friendship has changed over time.. and we dont even go to the same hs now so theres that too 😭 and she plays the victim card on me a bunch whenever i talk to her about something she's doing that bothers me like omf. really particular about what she wants and throws fits when she doesnt get it so its always lovely going out w her!! shes done a bunch to me but im NOT getting into that or this will be the longest thing ive ever sent you😓 also not the most pleasant thing to be reading so ill keep it to myself LMAOAOAO

BUT ANYWAY I BOUGHT THE MOVIE TICKETS FOR ME AND THE REST OF THE GROUP AND ALL WAS WELL and i told em i wanted to have middle seat bc my eyes are god awful so i told them i was gonna sit there THE NIGHT BEFORE‼️‼️‼️ but then when we got to the theater i put down my stuff and headed to the bathroom... and when i came back she was staring at my chair and was like "can i sit there?" This is a great list (and I always love to see some MirrorMask appreciation) but I can't help but add to it! (I won't include Good Omens as I assume GO fans are who you're reaching out to).

Personally I find it hard to split Gaiman's works into genres so easily because they cross over so much. So I'm just going to splurge.

The Doctor's Wife

An episode of Doctor Who, from the sixth series of the modern iteration. Gaiman grew up on Doctor Who and it really shows in a lot of his work. It stars Matt Smith as the Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy and Arthur Darville as Rory, one of the best TARDIS teams in the show's history.

Suranne Jones plays Idris, a woman who is possessed by the spirit of the TARDIS. It's a spooky and romantic fantasy with some sci-fi trappings, and honestly one of my favourite episodes of Doctor Who. It also features Michael Sheen in his first role with Gaiman, doing his best scary voice as a malevolent entity that eats TARDISes.

Gaiman also wrote "Nightmare in Silver," a Cybermen story for the following series, but it's nowhere near as good and I'd say that's for completists only.

Neverwhere - the TV series

Neverwhere is an unusual one in that the TV series came first (although there wasn't much in it, and Gaiman basically wrote the script and book alongside each other).

The TV version looks dated and pretty visually awful, but it's a genuinely weird and wonderful experience with an amazing cast. Paterson Joseph is incredible as the Marquis de Carabas (showing how perfect he'd have been as Doctor Who) and Laura Fraser is wonderful. Plus, Peter Capaldi as an angel!

The Sandman - Audible

I've only listened to the first two volumes of this so far, but the third is out and there are more to come. While I'd definitely recommend reading the books above all, and really enjoyed the TV version, the audioplays are excellent. If you're not a big reader or don't particularly enjoy comics, the audios are a very good way to enjoy a faithful adaptation of the book (unlike the TV version, which makes a lot of changes).

Gaiman likes to work with his favourite actors again and again so you'll hear some familiar voices. Michael Sheen plays Lucifer (you get an idea why Gaiman originally wanted him to play Crowley on TV, and also why he'd have been too sinister), while David Tennant plays Loki in the second volume.

The Graveyard Book

This is a kid's book, but like Coraline, very creepy and unsettling, so it might be a bit much for some youngsters. Gaiman came up with the idea years ago, and wanted to do The Jungle Book, but with a graveyard instead of a jungle and ghosts instead of animals. Really very touching, but also spooky as hell.

Chris Riddell did the illustrated version, which is gorgeous.

"The Ocean at the End of the Lane" is also very good, but just didn't catch my heart like "The Graveyard Book."

"Smoke and Mirrors" and "Fragile Things"

Two short story collections that mix horror, comedy, fantasy, even some mildly pornographic material. There's some truly excellent work here, and I definitely feel that Gaiman's short fiction doesn't get enough praise.

I won't go into detail about the individual stories because this is already an incredibly long post, but notably "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" was made into a film in 2018. Note that the exact stories you get will depend on which edition you have (some stories can turn up in editions of either collection).

The Sleeper and the Spindle

Last one, I promise. This is a children's book, again illustrated by Chris Riddell. It's a stunningly beautiful retelling of Sleeping Beauty as an LGBT story. I can't wait till my daughter's a bit older so i can read it to her.

What other Neil Gaiman work might you like?

The biggest thing to know about Neil Gaiman is that each work of his is a mixture of horror, fantasy, and subtle comedy.

That being said, each of his projects is pretty distinct from one another and there might be some that are more up to your tastes than others.

I haven't read some of his newer stuff (because I largely stopped reading as much since the early 2010s), but I'll do my best to remember what matters in other works.

Horror

The Sandman is a great work for horror fans. It's also great for mythology fans and other nerds, but horror is a major push and pull factors.

The comic is probably the greatest body of work Gaiman produced and it's recommended if you're a goth at heart and are comfortable with themes of death and humans being gods' toys.

The Sandman (TV) is a great adaptation, but it's very short so far and doesn't cover the best stories.

Coraline is a horror story for children. It doesn't have anything that's not suitable for kids, but it can be viscerally scary to some people. Both the book and the film are great.

Mirrormask is my personal favourite, it's a low budget film with mindblowing surreal imagery and one of the best soundtracks ever.

It's about a teenage girl who has troubles with her parents (who run a circus, btw) and who gets swiped up by her imagination into a bizarre world that is being eaten by her depression. Not a scary film, per se, but it's disturbing. However, it's a very warm film and it always makes me feel better.

Fantasy

Neverwhere is set in a dimension of twisted London Underground where everything that's straightforward in our world becomes weird and too real.

It really tickled my imagination, I highly recommend the book.

Stardust is set in a more high fantasy setting.

It features kings, witches, ghosts, and a star that fell to the Earth. It has a young protagonist who's not exactly the best or the brightest person, so if you hate such things, stick to the adaptation. In my opinion, the book is just lovely.

American Gods is a darker fantasy that asks the questions: "What if every god people ever believed in became real through the power of their worship? And then what if that worship started fading?"

It's set in the USA and because that country is such a melting pot, there are many gods. And not all of them are happy. This is the book that gave Neil Gaiman his reputation of a writer who loves weird sex scenes.

Humour

Stardust the film is often compared to Princess Bride. It's lighthearted, funny, full of imaginative adventures.

Just a very nice film with an all-star cast.

Anansi Boys is a spin off of American Gods, but it's a lot more lighthearted.

Anansi is a trickster god, so you know things will get funky.

I haven't read The Graveyard Book and The Ocean at the End of the Lane yet, but I hear they're very good as well.

Also, short story collections or Norse Mythology might be a good place to start if you want to get a feel of Neil Gaiman as an author first.

Coraline (2009)

An adventurous 11-year-old girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.

JayBell: I saw this in theaters when it first came out and haven't seen it since. So I was definitely ready for a rewatch, and besides the basic plot, I didn't really remember the details.

The highlight of this movie is definitely how beautiful and cool the stop motion looks. I specifically remember the part when the world starts to unravel near the end of the movie, and I just love how visually interesting it is. Also the stop motion lends itself to the creepy vibe so much.

I think this plot is definitely interesting in a sinister Alice in Wonderland kind of way. The buttons for eyes is a nice touch that makes you feel real disturbed in a visceral way. Honestly, it is kind of crazy that this is technically a story for kids. Either way, it shows you how a perfect world can be very misleading and appearances aren't always what they seem.

Coraline as a character is interesting. She can be kind of mean and bratty at times, but honestly that made her feel more like a true kid character. She's also brave and capable of kindness. So it's pretty easy to want to see her succeed. Plus, you feel sympathy for her character when you see how her parents treat her. This leads into one aspect of the movie I think could use a bit more context--the parents.

I get that we are seeing the situation through Coraline's eyes, and her parents are clearly stressed about their work, very tired and on a tight deadline, and even worried about money and finances. So I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but with that said, they did seem overly short and dismissive of Coraline. I want to feel forgiveness for them, but what does that say? That it's okay to be dismissive of your kids if you're really stressed? I don't know. And then once their work is done, it's like a flip is switched. So then they seem like normal, caring parents again. It is difficult for me to see this switch and not feel like it's abrupt. So maybe the movie could have made them slightly less purposefully dismissive of Coraline in the beginning of the movie and more just accidentally dismissive because of how stressed they are. Or is that part of the message? That some kids just have imperfect parents and that's part of reality?

Anzie: I had seen this when I was younger and it had first came out. And have a relatively good memory, I forgot the entirety of this story. That being said I am really glad we watched it for spooky season- not that it’s terrrrifying but it’s definitely unsettling. I did remember the button eyes and ‘other mother’ so I was prepared for that, plus the weird crawl space thingy but I think that’s bc I’m generally afraid of crawl spaces. But I digress. Like I said it was a really good rewatch- I think I could now appreciate the characters and the dialogue a lot better, whereas before I was taking it at face value. Jaybell mentioned- Coraline is absolutely feral. And I love Wuss Puss (no he’s not The Cat, to me he will forever be Wuss Puss). And guess who entirely forgot there was a cat. Yeah me. That’s who. Don’t worry I’ll punish myself. Annnnyways I loved all the neighbors and how weird they were and it’s very clear even tho ‘other mother’ tries making things ‘better’ and more enticing to Coraline, she belongs in her world. (Too it’s really sweet that her mom gets her the gloves she wanted to kinda show mom isn’t a total jerk maybe she’s just normal and stressed with moving and work and stuff bc I was over mom and dad for a bit).

Alsoooo I have a list of things that really freaked me out:

1. The mini doll with button eyes- no way I’m sleeping in a room with that thing.

2. The neighbor’s dogs. Those teeth. No thank you.

3. Thheeeeeeeeee ghost kids. Just weird I don’t wanna say more. Is there a reason they’re calling her mistress? And miss? ( I know they’re old ghost kids but it’s even creepier)

4. And obvi other mother

The style of the movie is amazing and to even thing how it was accomplished is extremely impressive and exhausting to fathom. But it really feels that the style they used for the movie is the only way this story should be brought to life.

Id love to hear about any representation of Schizophrenia in media! It doesnt necessarily have to be perfect, just anything you’ve seen that really resonates with you maybe?

So unfortunately, I haven't come across a lot of actually decent schizophrenia representation in media. I have a few things to recommend, but not many.

The only piece of fiction that I think actually did an excellent job of portraying schizophrenia that I've encountered is the book I Never Promised You a Rose Garden by Joanne Greenberg (published under the pseudonym Hannah Green). It's a semi-autobiographical novel about the author's experience being treated for schizophrenia as a teenager in the 1940s, and it's absolutely incredible. I've actually never been able to finish it. I've started it several times but it hits way too close to home for me. But from what I've read it's very accurate to my experience in some key ways and gets at the underlying mechanisms and feelings of schizophrenia, especially schizophrenia caused by trauma.

I also recommend the documentary film Take These Broken Wings, which contains interviews with Joanne Greenberg and another woman, Catherine Penney, that do a very good job of describing what schizophrenia is like, as well as interesting interviews with a number of doctors and other people. That's not fiction, though, so I wouldn't exactly call it "representation." And that movie has a VERY strong anti-medication slant, so if that would trigger you or bother you or might make you want to stop taking your meds without appropriate supervision I would NOT recommend watching it.

Besides that, I don't have any Actual Good Representation to recommend. But I do have some things that are objectively bad representation and/or not meant to be representing schizophrenia that still very much resonate with my experience. The rest of this is going to be long and much more personal, so I'm putting it below the cut

There are three movies that for me very much sum up what my psychosis feels like. Watching these movies for me feels like watching something directly pulled from my brain, and when I'm particularly delusional sometimes I think they were actually made for/about me lol. The movies are Coraline, Black Swan, and Pan's Labyrinth.

Coraline does the best job of portraying the specific kind of unreality/reality-but-to-the-left I experience, and the plot basically shows a metaphorical representation of the Capgras Delusion, a delusion in which your loved ones are replaced by evil imposters, which is a delusion I've dealt with frequently my whole life. Plus as a special bonus just for me it has sickly sweet/evil mom and doll themes so...yeah. It's basically the inside of my brain.

Black Swan shows the terror and confusion of psychosis better than anything else I've seen. For me, the underlying emotion of my psychosis is extreme terror, and the underlying mechanism is confusion and a lack of boundaries between fantasy and reality and the self and other, and Black Swan portrays all of that really, really well. And, once again, it has Bonus Personal Trauma Content that really makes it connect on a personal level. It's pretty bad representation, because it's a horror movie, not a sensitive look at mental illness, but honestly it does a much better job than most horror movies at showing how terrifying the symptoms can be for the person experiencing them instead of the people around them.

The last movie, Pan's Labyrinth, I have a harder time talking about. Some of what it does such a good time representing are elements of my psychosis that I don't have language for. But what I can say is that as a child, I always knew I was different. I knew I saw the world very differently from everyone around me, that I was aware of things no one else seemed to be aware of. Dangerous things, powerful things, secret things that couldn't be spoken about. And Pan's Labyrinth shows that experience better than anything else I've encountered. And it too has very intense personal trauma connections for me.

All three of those movies do an excellent job at getting at the emotional core of psychosis, in my opinion, and they all mean a lot to me. But they aren't exactly ideal schizophrenia representation, and if I was trying to educate someone about schizophrenia they aren't what I would recommend. Instead they're what I would recommend if I was trying to show someone what it felt like for me personally.

Hello, my friend! I see you love movies, what are your fav movies everyone should see? I used to watch the Oscars every year, except this one and I missed the whole Will Smith fiasco lol, but I still remember when they did the mistake to give the best picture oscar to La La Land when it was Moonlight all the time....what a night.

Oh yes I LOVE movies, I watch the Oscars every year too 😂 I was there for Ellen's selfie and for the La La Land/Moonlight thing hahha I loved the surprise, thought Moonlight deserved it more. And I saw Will Smith's slap live, I actually thought it was all a joke in the beginning, then the Italian speakers said something had occurred and I realized it wasn't planned at all. I also think his punishment is a bit too much, I mean he shouldn't have hit Chris Rock, but he did indeed make a very poor and mean joke about an illness. Definitely not funny. 10 years ban is a bit too much, but we know Oscars have weird rules, sigh.

As for my favourite movies, damn tough.

- The Lord of the Rings trilogy is all time favourite, there's nothing better than this and no one can convince me otherwise 😌 I love everything about it I watch it 2/3 times a year (extended edition) and the soundtrack is the best ever.

- Howl's moving castle, possibly my favourite animated movie, anime for sure. I love everything about it from soundtrack to characters and the book is a masterpiece too even thought it's very different.

- Spiderman Into the Spiderverse, the animation is worth it alone, mind-blowing, never seen anything so amazing in my life, probably the next best one is The Mitchells Vs the Machines (I'm mad cause Encanto won instead of this one ugh).

AND there's Olivia Octavius that's the American version of Hange so bonus point hehe

- Alien tetralogy, well mostly the first three, the fourth is pure trash but still enjoyable. I like to watch it like a watch the Machete movies and Robert Rodriguez movies in general 😂

I think my favourite is Aliens, that's the one from James Cameron, but I love the first and third one too.

- Hook, Ghostbusters, Jumanji, The Addams Family, The Blues Brothers. These are all my childhood movies. I love them all and they're a part of me. They're not perfect, but the stories, the special effects and the acting are true and heartwarming. Maybe it's my nostalgia talking but who knows you might love them too.

- Coraline. Almost like Howl hehe, love the book too. And I'm a big fan of stop motion especially Laika's they're the absolute best.

- Star Wars (the old and the prequel trilogy only). Childhood movies and memories once again, though they teach valuable lessons about family, love, self-discovery and fabulous special effects (for the time).

- Some like it hot. Old but one of the best movies I've ever seen. Billy Wilder is a genius director and Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are Oscars good. Plus there's the best ending/movie line ever:

And they almost made me like Marilyn Monroe so 😂😂

- The Invisible Man (1935) yes it's ooooold but I love old movies even silent one (this is not though). Love the sci-fi story and the invisible effect on him is top notch.

- Becoming Jane. I'm not a fan of romantic movies or comedies (there are very very few I cherish, the others meh I get easily bored when there's too much romance involved), but this one, boy I love it. Maybe it's the chemistry between James McAvoy and Anne Hathaway or the Jane Austen setting (I love Jane Austen movies, these are one of the few romances I like, dunno why), but my heart melts every time I see it, and I cry A LOT. I'm huge crybaby, you don't wanna know how much I cry every time I watch LOTR 😂

- Tim Burton movies, I don't have a real fave, probably The Nightmare before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands or Big Fish, but he's my favourite director, there are few movies he's made I don't like. Lately he's lost a bit of his touch but I'm so close to him can't not like him 😂 don't know if it makes sense.

Right now these are the ones that come to mind, but I'm sure I'm missing some movie for sure. I'm sorry it's so long you don't have to let me talk about movies 😩 I can go on forever and ever, I'm kind of autistic when it comes to cinema. Thanks for asking though, anon 💜

Gemstones for the name game!

I knew quite a few Amber's, but have never met anyone else named after rocks!

Gemstones, yes! I already did Ruby, but I can go down a few of them.

Amber- Will always sound unaccountably '90s/early 00s to me, since I grew up with so many Ambers. It's a much older name- I can think of at least one 19th-century Amber (Amber Reeves, writer and one-time lover of H.G. Wells). But it hit its stride of popularity more recently, I think. That's not a bad thing; I think it's a very pretty name. Just my association with it.

Crystal- I LOVED this name as a kid. No joke, I wanted to be named Crystal. Nowadays it's less my thing, given my predilection for old-fashioned names. I'm sure you could find older Crystals. "Name your kid after something pretty, regardless of precedent," has been a concept for a long time. But much like Amber, with a popularity spike in the late 20th century, that's always what it will be associated with for me. Also my elementary school best friend's mom.

Beryl- I first learned this as an Older British Lady Name, so I'm afraid it will always sound rather stuffy to me. Shout-out to the Chattering Order of St. Beryl in Good Omens, though I suspect they picked the name precisely because it would sound faintly comical and not at all saintly. Like calling it the Order of St. Non-Hispanic-Woman-Named-Rita or something here in America.

Gemma- LOVE. Reminds me of the Gemma Doyle series, which does play into some tropes about the Victorian era that make me roll my eyes but which I enjoyed reading nonetheless.

Garnet- Never actually seen this as a real person's name, but the main character in the book Silhouette of a Sparrow is named Garnet Richardson. And that's an excellent book- very gay, 10/10.

Opal- For some reason, this has the same vibes as Beryl- very grandmotherly. I do love opals, though, so that's a plus.

Pearl- Will forever remind me of the little girl in The Scarlet Letter. Not necessarily a bad thing, and I'm pretty neutral on it otherwise. I do love Margaret, though, which has the same meaning in its original Latin form.

Jasper- SO COOL. SO OLD-FASHIONED WITHOUT SOUNDING FUSSY. WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY BEEN ON MY BABY NAME SHORTLIST IF NOT FOR TWILIGHT.

Jade- Pretty, but all I can think of is the Bratz doll. And literally every early '00s east Asian female character being named this or Kira.

Coralie/Coraline- I like these both, but I can't stand the film adaptation of the book Coraline, and that's all anybody knows of the story these days. So it's been rather soured for me.

Comfort Movies: LOTR it's so good that it's so hard not to cry at it, like you know sometimes when you listen to music and you get an ethereal otherworldly feeling and sometimes in nature you get that feeling, watching lotr causes that feeling too. The Iron Giant. Casper. Coraline. Aladdin.

Hi Zu 💜 Hope this day treats you well!

First off, I'd like to say that you are helping a lot already, and I'm very very grateful for that. I mean, I literally would have never started this whole thing without your support. Thanks to you, I am here: posting things on tumblr, writing in English, sometimes even communicating with people (well, beside you (x). It really means a lot. Plus, while I don't like my writing, at least I know and almost always remember that there are people who do like what I create. It's a very nice feeling I didn't have for a while. I mostly had only my significant one before. When depression and low self-esteem get the best of me, it's unfortunately not enough. Now it's... a little better. So thank you.

And can we please continue talking about music? Because there are quite a few things I have to say.

I know The Killing Kind is associated with DestructiveDeath, and I'm glad it is, because that lyric comic is amazing. But honesly? In my mind this song is much more about X-tra Dark Cream than about DestructiveDeath. Partly because I don't really like the ending of the DestructiveDeath comic... No, that's not right. I do like it a lot, it's just... doesn't resonate with me. Doesn't click. But as for X-tra Dark Cream, oh goodness, of dear, it is too good to be true. The dynamic between this timeline's Dream and Cross matches this song so well. The lyrics are spot on. I didn't believe myself when I realised this. Hope you'll see it too when I write and post actual chapters!

That's also very true regarding The Death of Me and Fluffynightkiller. This song is obviously about some previous relationships that one cannot let go (and so isn't ready for anything new), and that's not Nightmare's case at all, right? Yet every single line fits perfectly. Only the meaning changes beyond recognition. And I love it! It always brings me so much joy to see a song in a completely new light through a character's experience. One of the best things ever. So this way even "I would tell you I don't miss her cries of love reduced to a whisper" (quote from The Death of Me) fits like a glove! Isn't it fascinating?

And last but not least, there is this little thought I've been thinking for a while. Don't remember when it was, but somebody once mentioned Vocaloids and Miku (I do remember you said your favourite song is Two Faced Lovers though (x), and it reminded me of that one song... And then this thought appeared. But before diving into that, do you have any more songs that you like? Maybe featured by other Vocaloids? Maybe not only Japanese ones?

I've been in love with Kagerou Project and Evillious Chronicles for years. I'm sure you know at least Kagerou Days from the former and Daughter of Evil/Servant of Evil/Regret Message from the latter. And the latter is what I'd very much like to talk about.

This crossover makes too much sense for me to be comfortable with it (x But I'm eager to share it with you anyway!

Not sure if I'd ever write it though. It doesn't seem as huge as X-tra Dark Cream or Coraline crossover, but... I don't know. For now I just feel like talking about this idea, so here I am. I have lots of details for this, big and small, but for now I'll stop here. Leave you hanging a bit, even if you wouldn't mind spoilers for a thing that I'm not even certain I'd write.

Hi! Congrats on 300 that's amazing!🎉 can I participate in the f/o's event please? I choose Chrollo and Kurapika (seperate). I don't have any absolutely necessary hcs for the relationships that I need to mention, except for that both are loving of course.

I'm really sorry if this is too long or too much! I tend to be open to a horribly obnoxious extent. I just overshare a lot. I had to reread this multiple times and shorten it as much as I could make myself.

Basic about me: I'm an aries sun w/ a gemini moon and leo rising, personality type is INFP. Hobbies I like are writing (normal fictional stories and fanfic), reading, drawing, painting, digital editing, walking around in nature (not quite hiking), Minecraft, and adventuring to places near me.

I get attached to random things and get really excited whenever I see them. Some examples are flowers, moths, shiny/pretty rocks or crystals, and anything similar to bottle caps/can tabs, safety pins, and other little shiny thingies.

While I tend to pride myself on how mature I can be and just how intelligent I am- normally in unique critical thinking, language skills, and imagination/creation, I'm also just a little kid at heart. I have wildly exaggerate reactions to things I like no matter how small or big they are, and due to rejection sensitive dysphoria I can be a little childish in turmoil no matter how many big words I use.

I actually like that I express joy so much and can romanticize any scenario + fall in love with insignificant objects. It took me a while to realize I even liked to do this because I didn't realize I had been masking my entire life. Due to other things being masked and whatever I have issues connecting the image of myself now to the image of myself when I was little to an alarming amount, yet still have a connection to her on the inside because I know she would be similar to now if she could.

I have ADHD and maladaptive daydreaming issues, possibly autism but I'm still doing research.

I really like praise and I need someone telling me good things about me, and I have envy problems. I wouldn't call it jealousy because I never act on anything, nor do I wish bad for the people who are doing good. My main issue, I guess, Is the "never enough" kind of thing. That's the only way I can describe it. When I'm upset, the only way to describe how I feel about myself is that I'm never enough, and no matter how much I try people won't like me as much as healthy me likes me...does that make sense? It's like I blame other people but I aim the hate and hurt feelings towards myself?

The words I'd use to describe myself are creative, intelligent, sensitive, affectionate, exaggerative, wondrous, and open

Very random details that don't matter: •I have wavey-curly hair but it can change wildly. It can be really curly, fluffy and insane, or completely flat without much at all. I've never used curling product or whatever to get it curly I just have to tightly braid it for a day and it's completely there. •I wear basic clothes but extra af accessories everywhere and somewhat crazy eyeliner. I like little trinkets as accessories like safety pins, paper clip necklaces, or hair ties on my wrist. Also some normal ones like rings, chokers, and bracelets. •I am definitely a spiritual bitch and I'm all for the moon and crystals and herbs (very basic I know), of course actual witchcraft work, but a little basic romanticizing doesn't harm nothin'

Kurapika

- It’s not a surprise on why Kurapika loves you so much, as there are many things about you guys that make such a great fit. Having you as his lover just makes Kurapika appreciate one more thing about his life.  

- Lets start off with the fact that you romanticize the scenarios and objects in your life. To Kurapika, he views this as you having an appreciation for the little things in life. For someone to express joy through the seemingly “insignificant things” is such a beautiful thing to him, and to Kurapika, he also thinks of it as a reminder to enjoy life’s little gift’s.

- This also reflects off his own way of thinking. For someone who has lost almost everything, Kurapika reminds himself to be grateful for all the things life has to offer. When life gets tough, he remembers some of the big and small things that he is appreciative for: seeing the sunrise each morning, his friends, how he’s able to wake up to see another day, and one of the most important things of all, you. 

- There is not a day where Kurapika does not remind you how important you are to him, how much you’ve changed part of his outlook on life, how you’ve gave his little dark and grey world some color. For that, he’s just so exceedingly grateful, and his heart is full of this everlasting love for you. Having said that, those days where you feel as if you’re never enough always make him upset to hear. 

- Though Kurapika might be a littleee uncertain with his advice, he tries to solace you the best that he can. With his calm voice, he’ll try and reassure you that you are enough, even if you might no see that in your eyes. One thing Kurapika wishes for you is to one day view yourself the way that he always does.

- Kurapika and you also share your love for nature, which was one thing you later learned about him. Growing up in a beautiful forest in the Lukso Province as a kid, he was surrounded by nature almost all through his life. He has such an appreciation for the beauty that the naturel world has. Kurapika and you sometimes set up dates where nature is most present, such as in a forest, or maybe in a field of flowers at night when the two of you can stargaze in each others arms.

- These have to be one of his favorite kinds of dates with you. The serene atmosphere that the environment brings Kurapika puts him at such ease, and having you by his side the whole time just perfects everything. While these moments can be filled with exchanged laughter from your conversations, or a calm silence from taking in the presence of your surroundings and each other, you guys always have such a wonderful time out of it. The ending to these dates can be topped with a heartfelt kiss from the two of you, as a reminder that your love and appreciation for each other is so deep-hearted and sincere.

Chrollo

- As the leader of an infamous group of thieves who can steal as much as they desire, Chrollo knew that he couldn’t just ‘steal’ someone’s love. You intrigued him from the start, and being that you guys seemed to be very different in personality, Chrollo was willing to know more about you. 

- In his eyes, you were like this divine gem that somehow ended up in his grasp, except without the use of “stealing” it. Now that you and him are dating, there’s not a day where Chrollo doesn’t try and show how much he loves you. Let’s start with how every time he call’s you, it’s with the use of an endearing name. He usually goes back and forth between calling you “my love”,  “my dear” and “sweetheart”.

- Every time you feel envious, or have those feelings of inadequacy, Chrollo pulls you close to him, and tries to comfort you with the sweetest of words. Now usually if he would ever say something this heartfelt to someone, it would be for personal gain in return. But, whenever he pulls you into his arms and whispers his own advice, it’s because it’s genuine. All the praise you hear coming from your mouth is something that Chrollo truly means, and wants you to understand. 

- He also really enjoys your personality in which you romanticize everything. Chrolo finds it very cute to him, and loves seeing how you get excited with the smaller things. As someone who could steal almost anything for you (large jewel, rare items, etc.) Chrollo finds it funny that you just like to pay attention to the little things. With that being said, anything that he finds that reminds Chrollo of you, whether it be out on  his missions or a daily stroll), he’ll always bring back. He loves seeing the visible excitement on your face, the way your eyes bright up and that lovable grin to follow. He just can never get enough of it. 

- Knowing that you also love these, Chrollo will always gift you with a bunch of rare flowers that he saw. He will usually give you about three or four of the most prettiest flowers you’ve seen, and he’ll tie it with a small ribbon just for you. While you’re expressing your love to how beautiful these flowers are, of course, he’ll sneak in some lovey compliment (“yes they look nice, but they don’t look as amazing as you”. Normally these are very cheesy, but Chrolllo says it in a way that just works).

- Reading dates are very common with you and him. Chrollo is an avid reader, and going on a date based on his interest next to someone he so deeply loves would just be perfect. You guys could just cuddle on the couch or bed, maybe light some nice candles around, and just... read next to each other!! It might not sound like much, but it’s very enjoyable when you’re around each other.

- All in all, the love Chrollo has for you cannot so simply be described in just words. Even though there might come danger from his own role, he will promise to protect you. Chrollo is just so happy to have met you, to be with you, to call you each other’s, and to develop this mutually genuine love that you and him have.

It had been a very long week for Janus.

Even though he was spending more time on the light side, his room was still on the dark side. Meaning; he could only get energy from his room. So he still had to go back every night.

Wrath had been even more irritated lately due to a group of trolls on Thomas' twitter. And when Wrath is angry.... Lets just say its more then a bruse.

Depression keeps trying to send Thomas into a depressive spiral (not anything different but it was still really bloody annoying. Plus he had been really persistent this week) and Apathy?

Apathy is doing his own thing somewhere

Unfortunately, Apathy is one of the only people that can calm down Wrath. Not like he did it most of the time anyway.

So it was a really bad week.

So thats why Janus was holding an ice pack to a newly acquired black eye in the light side common room. Head against the back cushions, wincing in pain as he waited for Patton to come back with some pain killers.

Later then what he would have preferred, Patton came back with the meds and a glass of water, "Here you go kiddo! Might want to do the water first! Its a bit chalky!"

Janus also split his lip in his altercation with Wrath, so he simply nodded to avoid ripping it open again.

"I really wish you didn't have to go back there every night, I hate seeing any of my kiddos hurt!"

Maybe you should have picked me up quicker when I first formed then. Inside voice Janus. Inside voice.

Janus shugged and took the meds. Patton walked away to go make some cookies to maybe cheer up the snake. Thats when Roman came in.

He took one look at the yellow side before opening his mouth. "Wow Jeckel and Lie!" Um ouch? "you're looking more and more like Virgil everyday!"

Janus lifted his head from the back cushion. "What?"

Roman didn't catch the glares coming from a light blue side in the kitchen. "The black around your eyes! It looks like Virgils eyeshadow! You really look up to him uh?"

Mind your karma Janus. It isn't worth it.

"I mean, Virgil would be a pretty cool big brother! Bet you two listened to My Chemical Romance together based on how much black you wear!"

Screw karma

"I am nothing like Virgil."

"Wha-"

"I SAID I AM NOTHING LIKE VIRGIL!!!"

"Janus I didn't mean to offend I-"

"I would never abandon my child to the mercy of some abusive assholes!!" Janus could feel the pot boiling over, but he couldn't stop the flow of words now.

"I would never lie to someone about their own function for years and only tell someone when they overheard a conversation that they weren't even meant to hear!!!" Roman was looking towards Patton for help. He didn't mean to offend Janus! He thought that him and Virge were back on good terms.

Janus was practically screaming at this point. But this was not the anger that sparked tears. This anger was hot and dry. It happened when someone cracked under strain and the target was almost never the actual cause of the anger.

Just the person who sparked it.

It was like a match with a galllon of gasoline.

"VIRGIL WAS NEVER A FATHER TO ME! HE WAS AS FAKE AS THE REST OF THE DARK SIDES, WHO BY THE WAY. HAVE A FUCKING UNIFORM! I DON'T EVEN LIKE WEARING THIS MUCH BLACK! AND I HATE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!" Patton was standing beside him at this point. He put a gentle hand on Janus' shoulder.

"Come on Janny, when was the last time you had gotten any sleep?" Patton wiped away a small stream of blood dripping from the reopened split lip as Janus shrugged. "Oh kiddo, why haven't you been sleeping?"

Janus rubbed at his good eye, "Wrath was bored"

Patton winced in the very thought of what that could mean. He pulled the much younger side to his chest. "Why don't we have a rest then? Does that sound like a good idea?"

Janus rubbed his face into Pattons soft cardigan while huming, "I'm nothing like Virgil..."

"No, you aren't kiddo. You are your own amazing person and you need to rest." Patton was backing up slowly, bringing Janus back to the couch. When he finally sat down, he pulled the side closer to his chest so Janus could hear his heartbeat.

"I'm no-m-ting like Vee" Janus was slurring his words, that must be a thing when he was tired.

"Shh, Shh little snake. Go to sleep." Janus soon became dead weight on his chest.

Patton looked back up at Roman with a sympathetic smile. Tilting his head towards the couch, edging him to sit down.

When Roman sat, both of them looked towards the sleepy side on Janus' chest. They weren't blind to how Janus pulled himself to himself in an effective effort to make him smaller.

Patton sighed, "I know this isn't going to be easy kiddo, but he are going to have to work with what ever trama Janus as... And he as alot..." Patton looked back to Roman, "He's been taught to hide everything he was feeling from a very young age, none of this is your fault Roman-"

"But I was the one who brought it up!"

Patton locked eye contact with Roman. "None of this is your fault." Patton took a deep breath, "We made the mistake of not addressing these issues earlier. Now we just have to help Janus recover. Ok kiddo?" Roman nodded

"Why don't you find a movie for us to watch?"

Roman lit up again, "What if we put on one of Janus' favourite movies so he wakes up to something he likes!"

Patton nodded eagerly.

"Ok so! Chicago?"

"Roman, we have watched that everyday this week. I don't really want to watch that again."

"Over the Garden Wall?"

"Same kinda thing kiddo."

Roman had to think for a bit. "Coraline?"

Patton thought for a few seconds before agreeing.

Coraline it is.

Janus was a very happy snake when he woke up.

OG Lennie: The OG, the legend. The Boy! The sweet! Lennie has been practicing his painting skills and his sandcastle building skills. I’m pretty sure he wanted to build a sand castle for Jelly on another alien planet, and have a meal together inside it. Plus he wanted to paint a picture for her. So this guy~ is doing very well uwu He’s just all around happy

Spooky Lennie: A happy boy, making friends and living life. Finally getting out of that cave of his, it’s even gotten some redecorating but there is still a dragons hoard. It is just there are a few and they are organized.

Reverse Vampire Lennie: Trying to find a way to uplift Coralines spirits. He wants to help with the aquarium as much as he is able too. Plus what an experience, the guys never really been to one before. As excited as ever about everything

Vampire au Lennie: Hes...cheerful but in a simple happy way. For one brought back to life this is a good thing. His motor skills are a bit rusty, hes having a hard time holding drinking from cups and holding silverware. So he ends up having to use a straw, and eat with his hands.

Witch Au Lennie: A content librarian and potions master. Studying daily and practicing his craft. Right now he hopes to find a cure for the frogpox. Apparently its a sickness that only happens to magical beings.

Mafia Lennie: His job is going well, he has the little puppy to look after at the moment. Hes trying to convince his brother to let him take Amaranthus out for some uncle and niece bonding time. He rarely gets to see her, but Billy is super protective and worried.

Slasher/Monster au Lennie: A precious bean~ Doing as they do. I don’t have too much to say about this one yet x3

Pirate Lennie: oof...so much going on but...He is happy with his siren~ uwu She is so lovely and understanding. Plus every day is more precious than the last. He can’t imagine life without her at this point. Oh the poems he writes, sometimes keeping them secret cause he’s a bit embarrassed.
