Why Ionic Outperforms Flutter in 2024: 7 Data-Driven Reasons to Choose Ionic
In the competitive realm of hybrid app development, selecting the right framework is crucial for ensuring the success of your project. As of 2024, Flutter and Ionic are the two leading contenders in the field. While both frameworks have their strengths, an in-depth analysis of data and technical aspects reveals that Ionic may have the edge for many developers and businesses. Here’s why Ionic stands out, supported by compelling statistics and technical insights.
1. Hybrid Approach Enhances Performance
Performance is a pivotal factor in choosing a development framework. Ionic’s hybrid approach utilizes pre-existing plugins and technologies that enhance development efficiency while maintaining high performance. Ionic delivers a consistent 60 FPS across both desktop and mobile platforms, demonstrating its ability to offer smooth and reliable user experiences.
Flutter, known for its native compilation and custom rendering engine, also achieves 60 FPS. However, while Flutter’s hot reload feature can accelerate development, it doesn’t always translate to faster overall development time. Data suggests that Flutter's hot reload can reduce development time by up to 63%, but this benefit is often counterbalanced by the complexity of the app being developed.
2. Superior UI Customization and Flexibility
UI design flexibility is another critical factor where Ionic excels. Ionic leverages web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, providing developers with a comprehensive library of pre-designed components. This allows for highly customizable and responsive UIs, with standard-based web components that can be styled to resemble native elements, ensuring a consistent look and feel across various platforms.
Flutter, in contrast, employs its own rendering engine and offers a range of pre-designed widgets. While these widgets adhere to Material Design and Human Interface guidelines and provide extensive customization options, they may not offer the same level of flexibility as the standard web components used by Ionic. For businesses seeking a tailored UI with rapid implementation, Ionic’s approach offers a significant advantage.
3. Enhanced Code Portability and Maintenance
Code portability is a crucial aspect of modern app development, and Ionic’s use of web technologies facilitates this with ease. Developers can deploy a single codebase across mobile, desktop, and Progressive Web Apps (PWA), simplifying code maintenance and updates. This approach reduces the time and effort required to manage different platform versions.
Flutter also supports cross-platform code sharing but relies on Dart, which is less widely adopted than JavaScript. Although Flutter's single codebase approach is effective, developers may face a steeper learning curve with Dart, potentially impacting the speed of development and onboarding.
4. Developer-Friendly Ecosystem
The developer experience is greatly influenced by the ecosystem surrounding a framework. Ionic’s ecosystem is designed to enhance developer convenience, offering extensive documentation and compatibility with popular JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJs , React, and Vue. This integration allows developers to leverage their existing skills and tools, facilitating faster development and maintenance.
Flutter requires proficiency in Dart, a less common language compared to JavaScript. Although Flutter provides comprehensive documentation, the learning curve associated with Dart can be a barrier for new developers or those transitioning from other languages. Ionic’s ecosystem, with its focus on familiar technologies, presents a more accessible option for many developers.
5. Accelerated Development and Deployment
Speed is critical in the app development lifecycle. Ionic’s hybrid approach and efficient use of web technologies contribute to quicker development cycles. With its vast library of components and plugins, developers can rapidly assemble and deploy applications, minimizing the need for extensive custom coding.
Flutter’s hot reload feature is designed to speed up development by allowing real-time updates without restarting the app. While this feature is beneficial, the overall speed of development can still be affected by the complexity of the application and the need for frequent updates. Ionic’s streamlined approach often results in faster development and deployment times.
6. Cost-Effective Development
Cost considerations are always at the forefront of app development decisions. Ionic’s utilization of web technologies and pre-existing plugins often results in more cost-effective development compared to Flutter. The use of JavaScript and established web frameworks typically leads to lower development costs, as teams can build on their existing knowledge and tools.
In contrast, Flutter’s development costs may be higher due to the need for specialized Dart expertise and potentially longer development times for complex applications. Although Flutter can deliver high-performance apps, the associated costs can be a significant factor for businesses operating within tight budgets.
7. Established Community and Support
Community support and available resources play a crucial role in the development process. Ionic’s longer presence in the market has fostered a robust ecosystem of resources, tutorials, and community support. This established network provides valuable assistance for troubleshooting, learning, and keeping up with the latest advancements.
While Flutter is supported by a rapidly growing community and benefits from Google’s backing, it is relatively newer compared to Ionic. As a result, the community support and resources for Flutter are still expanding. For developers seeking a well-established support network, Ionic’s longstanding presence offers a substantial advantage.
Ionic’s Technical Superiority
Ionic excels not only in performance and development efficiency but also through its robust technical features:
Plugin Integration: Ionic utilizes Cordova and, more recently, Capacitor plugins to access host operating system features such as Camera, GPS, and Flashlight. This integration allows developers to build applications that leverage native device functionalities while using a unified codebase.
Comprehensive Framework: Ionic supports building apps that can be customized for a range of platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows, Desktop (with Electron), and modern browsers. This versatility is facilitated through Ionic’s build tools and simplified command-line interface (CLI), which streamlines the app-building and deployment process.
Extensive UI Components: Ionic includes a wide array of mobile components, typography, interactive paradigms, and an extensible base theme. Web Components used in Ionic provide custom elements and methods for interaction. Notable components like virtual scroll allow for smooth scrolling through extensive lists, while tabs create native-style navigation with history state management.
Development Tools: Ionic offers services that enable code deploys and automated builds. Although its own IDE, Ionic Studio, was discontinued in 2020, the CLI remains a powerful tool for project creation, plugin management, push notifications, and native binary generation.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while both Flutter and Ionic offer distinct benefits for hybrid app development, data and technical insights indicate that Ionic may be the preferable choice for many projects. With its hybrid approach, superior UI customization, code portability, and developer-friendly ecosystem, Ionic presents a compelling option for businesses looking to develop high-performance, cost-effective applications.
If you're considering developing a new application or updating an existing one, hiring Ionic developers could significantly enhance your project’s success. Ionic’s strengths in development efficiency and technical versatility make it a robust and effective choice in the competitive landscape of hybrid app development.
By choosing Ionic, and with the expertise of skilled Ionic developers, you can harness a framework with a proven track record, ensuring efficient development and deployment processes. For a well-established support network and a streamlined development experience, Ionic is the framework to consider.

Fuel Cost Calculator | A clear view of your fuel needs

In what way does fuel consumption vary?
We recommend that you know the distance you will be covering and the average fuel consumption of your vehicle so that we can calculate the amount of fuel required for a trip using AllCalculator.net's fuel cost calculator or otherwise. You need to know the price per gallon or litre at which you can purchase fuel if you want to calculate the fuel cost of a trip, whether it is a car, a truck, a bus, a van, or a boat. Distances can be entered in miles and kilometres, and fuel consumption is also supported, with gallons per 100 miles, kilometres per litre, and litres per 100 kilometres being accepted in the calculator.
Most of Europe would prefer litres to cover 100 kilometres and gallons to cover 100 miles, while most of the US would prefer miles per gallon and kilometres per litre. For fuel amount, you need to enter the number of gallons or litres; for fuel cost, you must enter the number of dollars (USD). Considering the variation in fuel consumption between city limits and highways is a good idea - the former usually has a higher consumption. Whenever you drive through desolate areas, during the winter, or when extreme weather conditions are expected, always fill your tank with more fuel than you anticipate.
Is it possible to estimate fuel costs?
The fuel cost calculator at AllCalculator.net's can help you estimate your fuel expense in advance. Here is the information you need to use the calculator:
Amount of your monthly income
The movements you make in your car every day
Price of fuel
Your vehicle's mileage
You must know the accurate mileage of your vehicle to get the right output from the Fuel cost calculator. If you do not know it, you can use the trip meter and the calculator formula to calculate it. After filling the tank, you can measure the distance run at the next refill.
What are Fuel economy calculations based on vehicle type?
By multiplying the fuel economy (litres or watts per 100 kilometres) with the fuel price (pence per litre or watt) and the distance driven (kilometres), the fuel cost is calculated for a vehicle. Using appropriate conversion factors, inputs and results are displayed in imperial units (miles per gallon, pence per mile, and miles).
Electric Vehicles: When driving an electric vehicle, fuel cost is determined by multiplying the fuel economy (kWh per 100 km) by the fuel price (pence per kWh), and the distance travelled. Based on actual driving tests or where no real-world driving tests are available, official fuel economy test figures are used to calculate the real-world electric cost.
Plugin Hybrid Vehicles: For plugin hybrids that run on electricity and petrol or diesel, fuel costs for both fuels are calculated by taking the fuel economy, fuel price, and distance has driven (in kilometres or miles) and multiplying them by the fuel price. Based on real-world figures, we estimate the fuel cost assuming half the distance is driven on electric power alone and half on conventional fuel ('Condition B').
Petrol, Diesel, and Hybrid Vehicles: When you drive a car powered by gasoline or diesel, you multiply the fuel economy by fuel price by distance driven (in kilometres) and multiply it by fuel economy. A real-world fuel cost is derived from real-world driving tests or, if not available, estimated from test-derived fuel economy figures.

X has a plugin on the server to limit or "turn off" innate hybrid traits that would make normal gameplay "unfair" such as natural fire resistance and water breathing when people are actively recording/live as to not get caught "cheating". Naturally there is a little notice on the comms 5 minutes before people start recording to warn people that the plug-in is going to be be used just in case if, for example, someone is taking a lava bath so they don't get cooked! (Tango learned to watch his communicator closely after the last time- ) When the cameras are off, the weight is lifted and they can do whatever! After all, it's natural to them!
After one too many death messages of "Tango tried to swim in lava" or "Grian fell from a high place" or "xBCrafted drowned", he's learned that maybe he should make the notification a little more obvious.

9, 14, and 28?
Who are your top three all-time favorite bands or artists?
The Who, The Twilight Singers, and The Afghan Whigs.
Do you have any music related home decorations?
Tons! I’m at the office right now, though, so I’ll take pictures later.
Most underrated band or artist?
Like 75% of my taste in music is various cult bands of the 90s-2000s, power pop artists, and “one-hit wonder” groups, so I have a lot of answers to this question. But I’m going to go with Hybrid, because they are criminally overlooked outside the UK and have never released a bad record. They’ll also spoil you for electronic artists, because there is not a synthesizer or plugin on earth that can faithfully replicate the acoustics of stringed instruments, and they employ a live orchestra (!) for every one of their albums.

"Imminent" (0001)
Image-Making Note:
I created this collage/montage years ago.
I photographed a male model's leg in the studio. Then, I retouched and re-rendered the image and background using an earlier version of a third-party Photoshop action called, Watercolor Artist - Perfectum 2 - UXP Photoshop Plugin. (Not an affiliate link; I don't receive any money)
I created the globe in Photoshop and applied a gradient to it.
Finally, I aligned the elements in a manner that was pleasing to me.
I believe a similar image could be created by combining AI-generated components and using image-editing software. If you create your own AI version of this one, please let me know. 🙂
Though the overwhelming majority of the images on this blog will be produced using text-image generators, I will occasionally share some of my other images produced by different or hybrid means, if I feel they jibe with the spirit of the blog. 😉

Last Monday of the Week 2024-12-09
Continually looking up "what day is christmas" and then forgetting almost immediately. This is not a bit I keep forgetting whether it's the 23rd the 24th or the 25th.
Listening: Bandcamp Friday! Posted about that here:
Watching: Not much.
Reading: A mix of 3D printing stuff and, still, work research, mostly about network configuration, because I'm trying to run a stupid complicated mlag vlan setup with trunked ports on the host side which is especially hard because this is basically my first time touching managed network hardware. Everything I know about vlans until like two weeks ago is theoretical.
3D printing stuff involves both some materials science and some interesting basic introductory stuff on hybrid fluid dynamics and solids simulations that because I want to try and do some structural simulations, it looks like there's some plugins for OpenFOAM that render this doable, just.
Making: New printer! Some test prints to get that up and running. Aborted a skull print because it seems like the printbed this came with is much less sticky than I'm used to, figuring out how to use that correctly.
Trying to fix the dead Ender 3 SE, which appears to have kerploded its power supply dramatically, link to that saga here
Some quilting with my partner, we are good at very different parts of sewing, they do knitting and crochet and worked shop tailor work for a while but are pretty weak at hand sewing, I do a lot of hand sewing and embroidery but I only barely know how to knit and crochet scares me.
Playing: A lot of Cyberpunk 2077, which I picked up in the steam sale as my one Big Game.
I have a lot of thoughts. This has very good writing for a Video Game RPG, especially one with such limited dialogue. I think being fictional helps its world feel much more real than say, GTA V, which is good at simulating a lot of things but I think struggles with the final hurdle, despite being in many ways much deeper than Cyberpunk.
Playing on Hard, which I think is a nice balance of letting your actions actually deal damage and feeling as deadly as Cyberpunk games are meant to feel.
Tools and Equipment: Compact powered screwdrivers are a real godsend, I have that Xiaomi multibit set and it's really worth the price of admission when you're working on something that is just full of screws.

Hey! Curious if you have any insight on this before i search more. I like a lot of things about kde but i'm trying to find an alternative to pop!shell (their modified gnome&mutter) for my multimonitor devices. kde6 last i heard won't have support for bismuth or kwin tiling, let alone something more advanced, now that 6 is released is that still true and do you have any advice on a kde configuration that could compare to pop!shell's auto-hybrid-tiling with gui config for settings?
i see the old tiling plugins for plasma 5 are archived on github, very sad.
there is only one i know of that works on kde6 and that is polonium https://github.com/zeroxoneafour/polonium
try that, and good luck on your kde journey :)

Component Libraries: Should You Build Your Own or Use a Prebuilt One?
Component libraries are a vital tool in web application development in maintaining uniform design, shortening the time taken to develop web applications and improving reusability of the code. Some developers find this dilemma; should they create a component library or use an existing one? In addition, they help reduce the struggle while building well-designed and interactive websites because of the availability of animation-oriented UIs such as Accentricity UI among others. Now, let’s get more to the point in order to help you find the right way.
What is a Component Library?
Component libraries are collections of reusable UI elements such as buttons, forms, modals, and more— and are intended to reuse the components across several projects. Such libraries not only guarantee a consistent look of an application but also save time and costs during its implementation because the elements have been already coded. So, there's no need to build components from scratch.
Prebuilt Component Libraries
Prebuilt Component Libraries
Prebuilt component libraries are the ready-made collections of different UI components that are specifically designed and optimized for common use cases that developers can face during development. Some well-known examples include:
Material-UI (MUI):
A library based on React and it follows Google's Material-UI design, MUI allows a comprehensive set of components customization.
Ant Design:
It's an UI design system framework for enterprise-level products, ant design offers built-in themes and a rich set of UI components.
Bootstrap:
It's an widely-used CSS framework that provides basic components and a responsive grid system.
Pros of Prebuilt Libraries :
Rapid Development: Prebuilt libraries save a lot of time of the developers by providing pre-designed reusable components that you can quickly integrate into your project.
Standardized Design: They help ensure a consistent user experience across different screens and features.
Community Support: Many prebuilt libraries come with robust community support, providing a wealth of tutorials, plugins, and enhancements.
Cons of Prebuilt Libraries
Limited Customization: Customizing components to fit your unique design can sometimes be difficult, leading to constraints on flexibility.
Performance Overhead: Many prebuilt libraries come with extra features you may not need, which can bloat your codebase.
Pros And Cons of Prebuilt Libraries
Animation-Centric Libraries: Bringing UIs to Life
In recent years, a new category of libraries has emerged, specifically focused on providing built-in animations and smooth UI transitions. These libraries not only offer pre-designed components but also emphasize adding dynamic, interactive features to web applications.
Here are some popular examples of animation-focused libraries:
Lottie
Category: Animation Integration Library
Lottie:The industry standard for motion design
What it Offers: Lottie allows you to render animations created in Figma or Adobe After Effects as JSON files using the built-in plugins. These animations are then rendered natively on the web, offering high-quality motion without a heavy performance impact.
Why It’s Useful: Lottie is perfect for apps or websites requiring rich, scalable animations that are lightweight. It’s commonly used for logos, loading animations, and subtle UI effects. Unlike other component libraries, it focuses purely on bringing visual design elements from tools like Figma & After Effects into the web environment.
Accentricity UI
Category: Hybrid Component and Animation Library
What it Offers:
Accentricity UI combines traditional UI components with built-in support for smooth animations and transitions. It offers a wide range of components like buttons, forms, modals, and navigation menus, but with an added layer of predefined animations, making it easier to create interactive, dynamic interfaces.
In addition to these standard components, Accentricity UI provides responsive behaviors and subtle animation effects like hover states, fade-ins, and sliding transitions that enhance user engagement. The library's components are fully customizable, allowing developers to easily adjust animation timings, easing functions, and durations to match the look and feel of their brand, ensuring both visual appeal and performance across devices.
Why It’s Useful:
Think about it, what would be easy for a dev? Making a custom component with tons of animation which the dev has to write from scratch and polish it before the deadline or use a library, where the dev can make use of the library with the built-in support to combine the custom designed elements with smooth animations and transitions offered by the library.
It’s particularly helpful for developers who want the convenience of a prebuilt library but need polished, built-in animations to enhance user experience without writing complex animation code from scratch.
Framer Motion
Category: Animation-focused Component Library (React)
Framer Motion
What it Offers:
Framer Motion is a powerful library for React that allows you to create fluid animations and micro interactions with minimal effort. It supports interactive features like drag, scroll, and spring-based animations, which makes it ideal for interactive & highly animated UIs. It also provides easy-to-use APIs for gesture-based animations and layout transitions, offering developers extensive control over complex animations while maintaining simplicity in implementation.
Why It’s Useful:
Framer Motion combines the simplicity of component libraries with the flexibility of advanced animation frameworks, making it easy to enhance user interfaces with dynamic visual effects. It’s a great choice for React developers who want to integrate animation without compromising performance or adding significant overhead. With its built-in optimizations for smooth rendering, Framer Motion ensures high-quality animations that enhance both usability and visual appeal.
Should You Use Prebuilt Animation Libraries?
The role of animations is really important in web applications to enhance the UX(user experience), by making interfaces feel more fluid and interactive makes user's remember the website due to its great experience. Since users are constantly getting used to smooth effects, micro-interaction and dynamic feedback, animations are no longer viewed as a good to have feature but are rather considered as a must have feature. Prebuilt animation libraries like Framer Motion and GSAP (GreenSock Animation Platform) simplify this process by providing powerful, flexible tools that allow developers to integrate complex animations without having to manually manage every aspect of motion or dive deep into animation theory.
Advantages of Animation-Centric Libraries
Advantages of Animation-Centric Libraries
Ease of Use
Prebuilt animation libraries abstract away the complexities of coding animations from scratch. Without manually writing keyframes, easing functions, or browser-optimized transitions, developers can simply use predefined APIs to implement fluid animations. This drastically reduces development time, as many animation details are handled by the library, letting developers focus on building features and interactions rather than tweaking animations for performance or cross-browser compatibility. For example, with a few lines of code, animations can be applied to any UI element, making the development process much more efficient.
Advanced Features
Many animation libraries offer advanced features that go far beyond basic transitions like fade-ins and slide animations. These include timeline control, scroll-triggered animations, physics-based interactions, and even 3D transformations. For instance, timeline control allows developers to create synchronized sequences of animations, which can be used to create smooth, coordinated interactions across multiple elements. Scroll-based animations enhance user engagement by triggering effects as the user scrolls, perfect for parallax websites or content reveal effects. Physics-based animations, such as spring-based drag-and-drop or object bouncing, add natural, realistic movement to interactive elements, elevating the overall experience. Additionally, 3D transformations provide extensive control over how objects rotate, scale, or move in three-dimensional space, something that is cumbersome to achieve with native CSS alone.

May saw combined EVs at 53.6% share in Sweden, with full battery-electrics (BEVs) at 30.3% and plugin hybrids (PHEVs) at 23.2%. These figures are down YoY, with 61.9% combined in May 2023 — 40.9% BEV and 21.0% PHEV. BEVs in the high-volume vehicle segments are still greatly overpriced in Sweden relative to ICE peers (with, e.g., the Peugeot 208 BEV being over twice the price of its ICE version). These BEVs are thus especially vulnerable to budget cutting as belts tighten during the prolonged economic squeeze the country is experiencing(..)
P.S. The main obstacle to the introduction of electric cars is the excessively high starting price..., but...but the so-called affordable electric cars have a mediocre ability to travel a sufficient distance on a single charge. With an underdeveloped charging infrastructure, such 100+ (under 200 miles actual mileage) electric cars are absolutely NOT attractive to the mass market buyer...

For the mun from a curious anon: What got you into Minecraft askblogging of all fandoms? Is it an interest in a certain type of Mob? Inspired by a veteran mcaskblogger? For fun/curiosity? Or something else? Thank you!
MOD:: Okay, so you're gonna have to forgive me because my memory has not gotten better with age. I've forgotten a few things while only remembering feelings back when.
I remember things like... Starting this blog without ever having played Minecraft or with the intention of being an Ask-blog. I remember getting into the lore of MC because I was super big into creepy stories. Binging videos about Herobrine or those about Endermen with their screaming being played fast/slow/backwards so fans could pick apart if they were saying things. Slenderman was also huge around that time so it all kinda blended my interests together.
Before this was Ask-PAX, this was my mod blog. And I followed blogs that would post art about this sort of stuff. Don't ask specifics, I honestly can't remember or know if they're still around. So PAX was more just a fun thing to doodle here and there to interact with these blogs.
Then. I tried Minecraft. Through a plugin called Spoutcraft. I had Linux during this. And all I remember was the rage and frustration of constantly being griefed/raided/pillaged. So what started off as a funny hybrid of my fave mobs soon created a storyline of 3 asshole players griefing people and picking on a modded mob which in turn, would destroy their lives. Something that younger me wish could have happened to the people who kept messing with my builds and stuff.
So then I changed this into his blog, and made a mod blog on a side account. And the only reason this kept going was because of the ton of people who were around and also felt the same way, or just enjoyed the ideas of silly mobs and players go BRRRRRRR. I kept it up because those other MC blogs were super nice and we all had stupid fun together without the worry of being cringe or embarrassing.
