More 2am brainrot angst in these horrid times🥺

Robin has nightmares often, he just doesn't admit it. They aren't 'peaceful' nightmares either. Not just waking up suddenly and going straight back to sleep, no. They're terrors. They made him fear going to sleep for 20 years, only adding to his trauma and 'madness'. It's the same nightmare each time; he's all alone again, no life, no home, just the burned tree and wet grass. The dark night sky above with Moonah nowhere in sight, the wind cold and the trees in the forest creaking like a chorus of people mourning and wailing in sorrow.

He can hear voices up ahead but every time he goes to chase after them, they just seem to get further and further away. They're calling his name, his older name, the name he went by before. At first their just calling his name, then they're shouting his name, and eventually they're screaming and shouting his name until they sound hoarse, as if they've been through hours of this. He tries to call back to them but no words comes from him, he can't make a sound.

The cries for his name then turn into screams, just screams. Horrible, blood chilling, lung ripping screams. They aren't coming from up ahead in the distance anymore, they sound like their coming from everywhere; every tree, every blade of grass at his feet, the very wind itself. Every time they start, he wants to clamp his hands over his ears so he won't hear them anymore, but his arms are seemingly trapped at his sides and he can't move them at all.

The screams go from sounding anguished and pained, to vengeful and hate filled. He can't take it anymore. He can't move, but he spins around anyway, SOMETHING spins him around. He comes inch to inch, face to face with his late mother, her jaw practically dropped down against her chest, blood gargling from her throat, eyes bulging and full of fury, the flesh of her face peeling away and rotting in an instant.

He shoots up, awake. Yelping and batting his hands at the air in front of him, pushing himself back away from where he slept. Sweat prickling at his hairline and the back of his neck, the room suddenly feels as cold as that empty land in his nightmare. His chest rises and falls frantically as he looks to every corner of the room to make sure that there ARE corners, that there ARE walls, and that he isn't still in that terrible place.

He doesn't give himself a chance to calm down, he gets to his feet and leaves the room, heading into the other rooms. Checking to make sure everyone is still there. Everyone is blissfully asleep on the beds. He gives a sigh of relief when he can hear Julian snore, he takes a few deep breaths when he spots Pat lying on his back, being careful not to roll onto his arrow and wake himself up again with a girly shriek. He goes into Kitty's room and approaches the young, sleeping woman. Carefully flipping the feathers resting in her hair up and away from her face so that they wouldn't tickle her awake again. If he could pick up the blanket, he'd tuck her in tight and wish her pleasant dreams.

He checks on everyone, The Captain, Thomas, Fanny. He even searches the whole house until he finds Humphrey's head resting atop some shelves in the library. All the while, his mind is in a frenzy; he won't be able to rest until he's made sure his tribe is safe, only then will he be able to shake the feeling of somebody stalking right behind him, breathing and croaking down his neck with each step he took. If he'd turn his head to the side, he'd come nose to nose with his poor mutilated mother again, never sure if he'd ever be able to earn her forgiveness for his one act of accidental negligence. An act he's still paying the price for every night in his dreams.

He checks on Alison and Mike, and their newborn lying in the cot. He checks his mouse family and Graham, the suit of armour. He goes outside to Fanny's pet cemetery to check that all the familiar scents of the long departed animals are still there where he remembers them being laid to rest. He looks up at the stars and counts his familiar friends. Moonah is above him and emerging from the black clouds, her pale face gazing down at him in all her pity and mercy.

He can go inside now. His mother isn't behind him anymore, he doesn't have to fear looking over his shoulder as he ascends the stairs. He doesn't have to keep his ears open for screaming coming from the woods, he doesn't have to worry about seeing that burned tree again, and he doesn't have to be alone anymore.

At least, not until he decides to go to sleep again.

He's back in his room now, against the wall which he's trying not to fall back through. He's stroking the furs at his chest and clinging to himself, letting his held back tears finally fall.

Also, I do have an idea for a post-azkaban Sirius.

He gets released and stays at Remus', they don't know how to tell the reader (who is always been a good friend, but they secretly have feelings for each other) so Remus casually brings Sirius up to see the reader's reaction.

She starts rambling about her feelings for Sirius, and in the end, Sirius comes out and is like "you love me? Too?"

"So, I take it you're not seeing him again?" Remus asked, making you almost choke on your tea.

"Why would I see him again? Did you not listen to the story? He's a stupid, selfish, prick!"

"You always say they're stupid selfish pricks" Remus chuckled.

"Because they are" you insisted. "Maybe it's me? Maybe I have a magnet for these idiots" you sighed.

"It's not you" Remus assured you. "I know what it is, but you're not gonna like it" he said, taking a sip of his tea.

"I know what you're going to say" you sighed.

"Am I wrong?" he smirked as you glared at him. "You keep comparing everyone to Sirius" he shrugged.

"I do not!" you complained, completely oblivious to someone hearing your entire conversation. "I just... miss him" you admitted. "It's not my fault that he's perfect!"

"First of all, he's not perfect" Remus rolled his eyes. "Secondly, you haven't seen him in a long time-"

"That doesn't matter. And he is perfect. At least to me. And it doesn't matter how long it's been, I still-" you stopped as Remus placed your hand in his.

"You can say it" he encouraged you, but he saw a few tears in your eyes.

"I don't think I've said it out loud in a really long time" you chuckled wearily.

"What's the worst that can happen?" he smiled. You took a deep breath and then finally said it.

"Fine. I still love him. I'm still in love with Sirius. I love Sirius Black, are you happy?"

"Well" Remus said, nodding his head to the side, making you turn around and find Sirius standing there.

You had to be dreaming. Sirius couldn't be there. Sirius was standing there in front of you. After all these years. He looked so different but at the same time, he didn't. His hair was longer. He had tattoos all over his arms and body. He had a beard. But his eyes. They looked haunted but they were still his. You could still see the old Sirius in there.

"S-Sirius-?"

"You love me too?" was the first thing that came out of his mouth.

"I uh-" you felt your voice caught in your throat as it dawned on you. He had heard your entire conversation with Remus. "W-wait, did you do all this so Sirius would know that I love him?!" you asked, turning to glare at Remus.

"He wouldn't believe me when I told him, so, I thought he needed to hear it from you" he smiled.

"W-uh-" you stuttered, still processing all of this information as Sirius walked into the room. "How long-? Uh- w-wait, did you just say too? You love me too?"

"I'm gonna give you two some time to talk" Remus said, getting up and leaving.

"Hi" Sirius said, smiling a little. "I'm sorry about this whole thing, I didn't think Moony would actually do it" he chuckled. "Um... I'm sure you have a lot questions" he said.

"A few" you said, with new tears rolling down your cheeks. "H-how are you?" was the first thing you could think of. "Sorry, is that a stupid question? I don't-"

"Is not a stupid question, love" he said, walking closer to you and holding your hand, pulling you to him. "I'm okay" he nodded, placing his arms around your waist. "I've been out for a few weeks and... I wanted to see you but... I wasn't sure if you'd want to see me" he said, looking down. You gently placed your hand on his cheek to make him look at you again.

"I missed you so much" you smiled as he brushed some of your tears away.

"I missed you too, darling. So much" he smiled.

"And... just so you know, I am and always have been very much in love with you, Sirius" you said, making him chuckle a little.

"Well, just so you know... I love you too. And I've always been in love with you" he assured you.

"Good to know" you said as he started getting closer.

"Yeah, I'm glad I'm not on your list of stupid selfish pricks" he said, making you glare at him. But at the same time you were extremely happy to have Sirius back.

"You can still be" you threatened.

"I wouldn't dream of it, love" he said, pulling you to him and kissing you.

Because Jinkies doesn't do anything by halves, it turns out that she even found this traditional formline artwork of the Kushtaka by Nick Alan Foote, an indigenous artist of Native American Tlingit heritage, where the legend comes from. That is such a special connection to have that I would never have expected. I'm way beyond touched. 🥹 Please check out the artist's other wonderful work here on Insta.

The final dagger in the coffin of my tendency to blubber at the drop of a hat, let alone in the face of heartfelt gestures, was this page:

@sam-is-my-safe-word and @talltalesandbedtimestories have been personal champions and cheerleaders of mine since the very beginning of my return to writing in this fandom, and they haven't stopped since. The fact that they still have effusively kind things to say about me and my work just makes me want to die (in a happy way).

The comments on my fics are, like, 90% of what keeps me writing. Sharing and engaging and knowing that my stories are making people happy is what it's all about for me, so having those comments from @fictionallemons, Faraway22 (not sure if they're on here under a different username?), Jinkies, and @chiquititasnewsong preserved as a reminder of that... Honestly, you should be glad you can't hear the noises I'm making right now.

The thing is, I knew Jinkies was doing this. She asked permission before she started, she offered to make me a copy as well, and I've been elated and flattered from the moment she did. But now, having it in my hands, I'm moved even further than I thought I would be (and believe me, I know myself–I knew I'd be a mess).

I live a very small life, y'all. The joys I experience tend to be on the same scale. So while this might not be grand or extravagant to many people, this gift, of something I put into the world through a medium I've only really known digitally, intangibly, now being something I can hold in my hands as proof that I've touched the lives of people so far and wide, is a kind of profound that these words don't do justice.

It makes my life feel pretty darn big after all.

I'm getting back into Mario... And it reminded me of two OC's I made when I was younger... I'll put the second OC on the back burner in case I don't go anywhere with her, but the other OC I know I'm definitely keeping.

The Princess of the Boos, daughter of King Boo

Now, I am still trying to figure out her design and backstory. Her backstory I think I want to keep it a mystery similar to Bowser Jr's origins (the idea I have though is that King Boo had fallen for a human women and used her soul when she died to create the first born Boo; his princess. But I haven't played Luigi's Mansion, so I have no idea if that'd even be in character for him). The only thing that is for certain, however, is that she is King Boo's child and heir.

I keep interchanging between a humanized look for her and her looking like a Boo, however. If she's a royal boo, then she'd be a bit smaller than a regular boo (which is tiny compared to King Boo 🥺), but she has the black sclera like him (or are those dark circles/shadows under his eyes? It's kind of hard to tell), with glowing, opera mauve pupils. She has a jewelry crown like him. However, it's smaller compared to his, and it'd look like a garnet rather than an amethyst like King Boo's crown. Her human form- which I'm not sure if she'd naturally have, could transform into, or would need the Peachette Crown to turn into, I'm still debating on... Though I kind of imagine her having a similar style as Muffet from Undertale 🤔

I couldn't find who the artist of Muffet's illustration was, but this was the best photo I could find. If you guys know, please let me know so I can properly credit them ^^

Yeah, she is still a bit of a mystery 😅 but I still wanted to post about her. Here are some tidbits for her ^^

Personality wise, she is a bubbly goth XD she's the kind of princess who would take you to the cemetery to meet her family, but she's way too happy and excited that you're here so you can't get too weirded out. To her, creepier things are normal; the killer piano is just a lovable puppy to her, the spinning eyeball is a nice decoration, her dad trapping people in his paintings is just 'dad and his collection' to her, etc. She feels curious about the rest of the kingdom, but would also feel out of place in Peach's castle or something.

Even so, when she gets upset, she'll resort to pranks and causing trouble. Like how children will sometimes do if they seek attention. She is a playful soul in general, but her jokes will turn more troubling when she's sad or angry.

King Boo, similar to Bowser with Junior, loves her to peices ^^ even if he is 'working' all the time. He does have a lot of haunted manors to look after and only really gets a vacation when Bowser temporarily takes over, and his time is taken up even more now that he's declared Luigi his enemy. So, unfortunately, they don't see each other too often. King Boo has yet to figure out how to balance his royal duties and family like Bowser (we do see Bowser invading the kingdoms alot, but it's obvious with how much Junior and/or the Koopalings admire and love him that he is a good and devoted father).

Princess Boo keeps a diary, like Luigi in Paper Mario. She writes down everything in it. Little writing blurbs, what she did that day, her thoughts and feelings, etc. Including all the times her dad left her behind.

This does leave Princess Boo feeling pretty lonely and prompts her to show up unannounced. But really, she just wants to hang out with the only parent she has. Sure, her citizen boos will play with her if she asks, but it's not the same... If she was in the games, this could even be a game mechanic; Princess Boo will pop up out of nowhere in the haunted house and pretty much stop everything the player was doing to 'play a game'. Whatever game she chooses, you can only pass the level when you win, but regardles, she looks so happy you're complying with her. On the surface, she looks like a brat interrupting the game, but all she wants is a friend if she can't have her dad.

Which leads me to one of my main tidbits about her; since I hc King Boo and Bowser have some kind of treaty or alliance, especially after the events of Luigi's Mansion, King Boo requested Bowser at some point to make sure his child doesn't interfere with his latest scheme. Bowser agreed, allowing the Boo Princess into his castle. She was pretty hurt by the implications behind this, and she did cause some trouble in the castle. Lemmy, as we know, is pretty fun-loving and playful himself. I think he was immediately drawn to Princess Boo, just excited to have another playmate! But also because of how sad she looked. Being part of a mischievous pack of lizard children, he (and all his siblings) can tell the difference between genuine play and attention seeking mischief. Princess Boo at first wanted him to just leave her alone, but it didn't take long of him showing off his ball and magic for her to cheer up and start giggling again. And ever since then, they've been inseparable ^^ in fact, when the koopalings started taking over kingdoms alongside Bowser, she begged her dad to let her set up a haunted house in Lemmy's kingdom so they could team up.

Princess Boo does have varied relations with the other Koopalings too. She and Bowser Jr. And Larry are all similar ages, so they can get along the best (I'm not sure if I want Princess Boo to be younger or as old as Junior. She would definitely be one of the younger kids, though). She was first introduced to makeup and dress up with Wendy- who also taught her the tactic of referring to her dad as 'daddy' to get what she wants, so shes kind of like a big sister to her. Ludwig is a bit stuffy, but he can be cool. Iggy is on a similar level as Lemmy, and Princess Boo adores his pet Chomp Chomp. Roy is also cool, but in a 'the big kids on the block' sort of way to the princess. And she likes playing with Mortan and listening to him blab on about whatever is on his mind. But of course, Lemmy is her bestest friend.

She is envious, though, of their great relationship with their father. She is a bit sensitive about her dad and their relationship and would prefer it to not be brought up whenever she comes over.

Although she doesn't know it, her father is definitely getting dad advice from Bowser when word gets back to him on how sad she really is. He genuinely loves her and wants to do the best for her.

When Princess Boo is really sad to the point of tears, she'll fly away and possess something just so she can be alone and unseen. She has a bed in her room just for the purpose of her diving into it, but she has been known to hide away in paintings, vases, and other furniture and decor.

After hanging out with Bowser Jr., she wanted to try her hand at painting, too ^^ her art is more gothic abstract/psychedelic, and she likes to hang them up in her dad's haunted manors. He refuses to take any of them down, not even to make room for his own collection.

Now, that's all I got for her, but there is one more thing; I have referred to her as Princess Boo throughout this post, but... I don't really like it 😅 I know it'd fit in with King Boo, but I prefer something like Boolina or Booella. I can't decide which one, though. So, even though I doubt this'll reach to a lot of people, I wanted to add a poll ^^ I'd love to see what you guys think.

Edit: I forget that the character Goombella existed. And thinking about it, with Toadette and Gommbella, Boolina would complete the set of 'characters with feminized names of their species' names' xD (but also, Boolina sounds close to Rosalina, and as far as I know, all of the female characters in Mario have unique names special to them 🤔 and I also like the sound of Booella-). So I am leaning a bit more towards Boolina, but we'll see how the poll goes ^^

Also, I meant to add this as an option in the poll, but if you guys have other suggestions for her name, I'd love to hear them! No doubt, you guys are way more creative than me XD

“Warriors said I wasn’t around enough.” All through the telling, there was this thread in the words that Twilight seemed to think this was a requirement of himself to be helpful. He used ‘useful’ as his choice of words-- though this failed to set Time’s alarm bells off until later-- to be better somehow. Finally, Twilight let slip his companion on his quest. Twilight had joked with the others about the ‘princess as beautiful as the setting sun’ who had broken his heart but it was worse than Twilight had let on. She’d left his Pup without a word and left him thinking it had all been his fault. Three help this kid … Time sent a desperate prayer into the universe and threw in a plea for wisdom while he was at it. 

“Pup, I can’t speak for your companion.” The goddesses knew he’d been searching for answers to Navi’s departure since he was a child.  It was awful to know his descendant  had suffered a similar experience. “But I can speak for myself and you need to know.

You are enough. We love you. I love you. I’m so proud of you and the goddesses better give us enough time to prove that to you.” That was the straw that broke his pup once again as the quiet sniffing that had been Twilight trying to hold himself together gave way to full aching sobs. Time pulled his Pup tighter to him. Twilight cried himself out and all Time could do was hold him through it.

So it's really interesting to me you chose this section and I kind of want to know why but here goes.

This section starts with...trying to reference the original inspiration. Warriors's words in Good Enough made Twi make a more conscious effort to switch more frequently. I also don't remember right now whether that was actually who bonded well with Wolfie Vs Twilight or if I was still deciding if I was just gonna rewrite the whole story rather than just crediting it as "something I wrote to cope with the angst, sorry OP" and used my own personal version of who would bond with which side of Twilight.

"Useful" is definitely in reference to the chapters as Ginarosesdale did it. I needed Twilight to talk to Time, to ramble and tell his story and let it all out but words in dialogue form weren't working so we get the summary from Time. Not picking up on the self-deprecation until much later in the stories is... very tied to the idea in my head that "heroes of courage they may be but wisdom is not their forte" so it takes Time a little while to pick up on the thread.

Midna is so pivotal to Twilight’s regret. The entire first chapter of Good Enough was focused on Twilight’s original journey. I, however, have not played Twilight Princess. My context is from fics, from watching clips, from asking my brothers and friends who have played the game, and the Zelda wiki. So... the exact nature of the journey and that scar on his heart was also left to remain vague

But! It was a flash of genius when I realized that "companion leaves forever at the end of the journey" is a trait the two of them share. While Time and Navi’s relationship is obviously different than Twilight and Midna's, their departure without explanation or hope of return haunts them both.

Then we get where it is very obvious I'd been influenced by Twilight's breakdown in Make It Stop. Words are hard for Time but seeing his pup so close to breaking means he needs to say *something*. This is where we get the "...I can speak for myself and you need to know. You are enough. We love you. I love you. I’m so proud of you and the goddesses better give us enough time to prove that to you."

And once again showing the influence of Make It Stop with Twilight’s falling apart at that point. A single hint of indirect praise in the comic conversation with Malon was enough to have him floating the rest of the night. Imagine if it was said directly to him, by the man he knows becomes The Hero’s Shade, and genuinely meant... cue the waterworks.

Time being helpless to do anything but hold his kid... loose reference to IRL and seeing breakdowns and meltdowns and being helpless to help but trying anyway.

My final thoughts are, i like the Bobby Beginnings episode, but i don't think i learn something new about him.

Carla still bothers me, she still doesn't have a life outside of the white chracters like they could have show her family in the eddie party.

Hen, Maddie and Buck are my favorite characters you know is going to be a an amazing episode when they focus to one of those three.

Also i didn't love Bucks romantic think this season, bc it didn't go anywhere, he had 2 kind of girlfriends that i didn't bother to learn their names and thats it. He should date men, right now. It was a very comfortable lap, to be sure - Floyd Talbert considered himself something of an expert on the subject and this one was very good. The sunlight, on the other hand, was a different story - outside the window it was fully and frankly morning now, and the light was doing a number on his head, which was aching a little after last night's drinking. Someone's hand was resting gently on his head, as if to keep the hair out of his face, and he turned, trying to see who it was.

Whoever he'd been expecting, it wasn't Molly. She was propped, almost awkwardly, into the corner between the bed and the wall, sitting upright with her head lolling to one side, sandy brown hair coming loose from its ties. Floyd sat up a little, squinting, and trying to make sense of it all.

He didn't get very far in his thoughts before his bladder reminded him he'd had a lot to drink last night. He practically rolled off the mattress before finding his feet, and stumbled out into the corridor to find the water closet.

Pressure relieved, and more of his senses returning, Floyd did up his fly and returned back down the hall, trying to put the previous night's puzzle back together. This was Molly's bed, in Molly's room, the one she was sharing with Billie. Billie wasn't here.

Did we…but no, they couldn't have. The first few buttons of her shirt were open, but apart from that they were both fully clothed - though someone had done him the service of taking off his boots, and hers. And I was drunk, Tab thought to himself. Too drunk for that, anyway. He remembered making a pass at someone, though he couldn't quite remember who- had it been Molly?

13. What's the best writing advice you've ever come across?

There's two. The first is to write down passages of poems/stories/writings that you love and want to emulate with your own writing. Figuring out what it was about the piece that moved you or made you stop and gape is a great way to try and figure out how you can write something similar. The second is to try and rewrite a scene from a different perspective or goal in mind if you're struggling heavily with it. There's almost always something off in the passages beforehand and changing things up will help identify that problem.

14. What's the worst writing advice you've ever come across?

To stop writing. Deadass. More specifically, it was to just not write if you don't feel like it. Unfortunately, if you just stop then it's hard to pick it back up in the future if you're not writing something else in the meantime.

I'm literally so easy to please, any review makes my day, but @k-martins leaves a whole ass thesis on every chapter of aibtntfi and it deadass brings tears to my eyes every time they comment on my work. actually, two of my friends gushed about iland, but i was never into survival shows so i just listened to them and hyped them up but never focused on it. then i saw that sunghoon was debuting as an idol— i knew him since he was a figure skater, but that still didn't convince me to check them out lmfao TT but i came across fever one day and i'm telling you, i listened to it for weeks straight before even bothering to check the group out hehe ( _ _; ) even though i haven't watched iland, i've seen clips and that gave me an idea of how the show was

my first kpop group was exo ! i stanned bts shortly after, and then was introduced to nct, then svt, now enhypen. although i have been a casual listener to a lot of groups, esp ggs. and the only ggs i've ever stanned are formis and aespa >< my first kdrama was suspicious partner, i love it so much :D the chemistry is so good ++ it has a mystery element so i love it even more. and first anime was haikyuu TT i love them sm, it's truly my comfort show
