I thought i saw somewhere that said only in some versions Ino (Dionysus's aunt) becomes a goddess after she dies but now i cant find it and so now i think i hallucinated an article where Ino just died so heres a headcanon about her and cabin 12 in elysium

Her, her kids and i think her husband? (cant remember if he dies in the myth) and all the dead Dionysus kids that ended up in Elysium have family dinner.

Also, the moment someone with purple eyes steps foot in Elysium gets swarmed by the Dionysus kids because yay new sibling!

I made this entire headcanon cus of my boy Castor.

New Demigod Cabin: Leucothea

Leucothea, the white goddess of the sea, is one of the rare examples of a mortal who was turned into a god. Originally a woman named Ino, she was a princess of Thebes and the sister of Dionysus' mother Semele. Together with her sisters Agave and Autonoe she raised the infant Dionysus after his mother's death, which earned them Hera's wrath. Hera caused Ino's husband Athamas to be overcome with madness, resulting in him killing their son Learchus and then chasing Ino and their other son Melicertes. Out of desperation she leapt into the sea, but the gods took pity on them and turned them into sea gods.

Ino became Leucothea which translates as "white goddess" while Melicertes became Palaemon. Due to her past life as a mortal, Leucothea is especially sympathetic to sailors and was one of the deities the Greeks prayed to for protection at sea. She appeared to Odysseus during the Odyssey, lending him her veil and instructing him how to trust the waves to take him to the land of the Phaeaceans.

Ino's transformation into a sea goddess makes sense, given her ancestry. Through her father Cadmus she is a great-granddaughter of Poseidon, as well as the river god Nilius (the Nile river) and the Oceanid Nephele. Through her mother Harmonia she is a granddaughter of Aphrodite, who has strong associations with the sea.

As the aunt of the god Dionysus, Ino-Leucothea was one of the first Maenads, and a sisterhood of Maenads at Thebes called the House of Ino traced their descent from her. The Greeks held festivals called Inoa in honor of her, and she and her son were sometimes depicted in temples of Poseidon and Dionysus. The Romans identified her with their goddess Mater Matuta, a fate goddess associated with dawn and the sea. As a goddess who can save the life of sailors the Greeks also associated Leucothea with Tyche (Roman Fortuna) the goddess of fate and luck, and later with foreign deities such as Isis.

Leucothea's cabin is made of the whitest marble and the inside is decorated with lace, seashells, and pearl. Everything inside is white and can never be stained. Leucothea's demigod children are often born with leucism or albinism. They can emit a bright flash of white light to briefly blind opponents and are able to look at bright lights without it hurting their eyes. As children of a sea deity they can also breathe underwater. They always carry sunscreen with them since their skin is especially susceptible to sunburns. When a demigod child of Leucothea is claimed a white seashell appears above them.

harmonia’s eyes are not the only thing i borrow from the pjo universe;  i also write that she’s capable of charmspeak as a child of aphrodite.  growing up,  she had to learn to control it on her own because elektra & her family could not describe how the power worked,  only that harmonia’s skills of persuasion were inhuman.  harmonia’s daughters inherited the power themselves, though it was weaker than their mother’s.   however,  despite the diluted power,   it was still able to wreck havoc in the lives of the daughters.  ino used charmspeak the most of the daughters to control the court of her husband athamas & satisfy her vanity & insecurity.  agave also used charmspeak herself in the plot to murder lycotherces & hand his kingdom over to her parents.   harmonia does not enjoy the power & goes out of her way to avoid using it,  particularly because she feels it is at odds with her very nature as harmony to influence someone to bend to her will.

20. Favorite Original Story Idea (Authored by Me): I’ve got 2/3 on my mind right now. (Because I can't pick favorites to save my life.) 

 #1 is Introvert city girl with a fear of dogs and her mom move to a small town where the random dogs out in the woods are bigger than average and a really cute boy takes a sudden interest in her. (spoiler alert--its werewolves. He’s a werewolf. Do you know how hard it is to tell your crush about your furry problem when they're afraid of dogs? Also, add in a mysterious organization that has a problem kidnapping adolescent werewolves and we’ve got ourselves half a plot ladies and gentlemen.)

#2 is about another introvert girl (surprise, surprise) in a zombie apocalypse. It’s been months since she’s seen another human being who doesn’t want to eat her. Her story starts when she happens upon an old radio and while fiddling with it one night, she accidentally tunes into a boys channel where four boys talk to each other. there’s a lot of introverting, reading, dogs, cold weather, dead people trying to eat her, looting, and listening to boys conversations over a walkie talkie that may or may not classify as creepy.

and #3 is just classic noble girl is sent as a spy into the enemy kingdom but everything goes to shit before she even walks in the door. Mission was simple. Be a kitchen girl, poison the King's food and kill him and then escape back home during the confusion. Instead, she gets the honor of becoming the Prince’s comfort woman/concubine after the last girl did an honor killing on herself. So, new mission. Get close enough to the Prince that he tells her information and then send that information back to her country so that they can win the war. (Passing secret information along is a little easier when it's not written down on paper but instead in flower crowns and bouquets as the secret language of flowers.)

Okay so i've mentioned my Dionysus's aunt Ino takes Dionysus/Bacchus/Liber's kids who end up in Elysium in hc

But I like to add onto that and talk about how every few years (or how they perceive years, time works differently for the dead) the kids put on a play of the history of Thebes/their family for the newly dead ones.

The play itself is hilariously bad, despite the fact that most of them are theatre kids and or have some power over theatre

Like the last time they did it, which was for Castor and the triplets that died before him and Pollux were born.

They managed to rope Hermes into it as Zeus (he's on his yearly week forced vacation)

Yeah.

Never again.

and none of them take it serious EXCEPT for the Sack/Battle of Thebes part. Then they all get serious and professional with a full ass orchestra . Like Prince of Egypt type shit.

Not out of respect because it's Ino's and Polydorus' home and at least some of them probably died in it

But because they get to show off and be dramatic and it's enrichment for them

CAPTER #1 - PJO-MOANA-AU

The edge of the water – prologue

I always found myself time to watch the sunset. When I should’ve been doing something very else at time, I climbed up a hill and then sat down when nobody looked after me, staring an orange glow that drew its outline on the shiny water. More often, however, I found my way to the coast at late nights like I now had done, to see so close as possible how the last rays of the sun set down ino the ocean. Truly, nothing more fascinating I had ever known.

As I stood watching the turquoise, salty water front of my eyes I felt myself, as you can say, wild and free. Some days I could see riptides dancing, at times again the water was calm and bright – comforting, almost understanding, like the great unknown would’ve had feelings, too. The best thing was a sensition that I always got when touching the waves, allowing the warm water to flow between my fingers. It pacified my mind and soul, foiled all the negative thoughts away and hold out new hope when I asked it.

I loved the ocean, come to think of it, more than anything I knew. The waves I saw playing was apparently my only true friends on the island I lived on, the coast was my golden lighthouse, and seeing the rest of the world beyond the home reef had become my undying dream forever ago.

I couldn’t quite understand though, why it was so hard to me to accept my part on the paradise, why I wasn’t like other children playing and fooling around together, peace and quiet under the rules. Usually at nights my dreams were full of rafts and happy singing by sailor-people I had never met, instead of a young teenager’s crushes or an unexplainable adventures in an everyday world. At daytime I felt myself, above all, lonely even though I tried to smile and claim to be not just a broken half of a human being.

At odd times I was sure I heard a voice from the waterside, calling my name with a strange whispering tune – it was like a wind blowing the vocals through the air, something phantasmal and almost beautiful. It made my gaze always turn back to the tide and skyline that I saw behind my bland, familiar home village. So close, but still so far.

And I wondered if I was ever able to figure out what it was on the horizon that I missed so much.

Iris was the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the Olympian gods. she was a goddess of sea and sky–her father Thaumas “the wondrous” was a marine-god, and her mother Elektra “the amber” a cloud-nymph. for the coastal-dwelling Greeks, the rainbow’s arc was most often seen spanning the distance between cloud and sea, and so the goddess was believed to replenish the rain-clouds with water from the sea. Iris had no distinctive mythology of her own.

OKAY SO HERE WE GO I know this might seem a little weird but I have reasons. starting off the wiki described lance as a “brave, adventurous, friendly, and free-spirited … showcasing his unrestrained love for what he does.” Iris, as goddess of the rainbow and a daughter of one of the key water nymphs, is shown to express herself plainly while traversing the “globe.” as messenger of the gods and as such is given free reign over where she chooses to travel. put in context of the rest of the gods, Iris is seen as one of the more friendly since she is a presence that brings light. now honestly, one of the main reasons I chose Iris is how she ties in with the sea and sky. due to her parentage ( and as seen above ) she branches the two worlds for the Ancient Greeks. Lance is a space water guardian. you do the math.

the Okeanides were occasionally described as sea-nymphs. in the late classical era the mythical, earth-encircling, fresh-water river Okeanos was increasingly equated with the briny Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and his nymph-daughters reimagined as marine deities.

gonna be honest this one is really straightforward. again Lance is the water guardian. I did not, however, choose any of the more referenced inland ocean spirits because I found myself stuck on the idea of the freedom the open ocean offers and how lance is very much a free spirit. though, it is important to remember, in pjo canon the ocean nymphs cannot travel inland due to the difference in salt and fresh waters.

Palaimon (Palaemon) was a child sea-god who, with his mother Leukothea (Leucothea), came to the aid of sailors in distress.

He was originally a mortal boy named Melikertes (Melicertes) whose parents incurred the wrath of Hera for fostering the young god Dionysos. His father was driven into a murderous rage by the goddess and Ino fled with Melikertes in her arms, leaping off the cliffs into the sea. The pair were transformed into sea-gods and renamed Palaimon and Leukothea.

I haven’t really done this for other characters, but for a deity verse I feel like this would be a good option for the sharpshooter there. as a deity Palaimon comes to the aid ( wow sound familiar ) of sailors who are otherwise lost at sea. in some myths he was saved by the ocean spirits and transformed into one of them while his human body was left behind.

In my AUs i have a headcanon that all the Dionysus, Liber and Bacchus (and if she has any, Ariadne too) kids who end up in Elysium get taken in by Dionysus's aunt Ino.

It's literally chaos. The best way to explain it is Loud house and Casagrandes meets 101 Dalmatian street but theyre demigods and has the song A Gorey Demise by Creature feature as a theme song (in fact i got inspo from that song on some of the deaths)

Now the thing is i dont know if i want Mr D to know about whats going on with his kids in Elysium

(Hermes is aware of it, hes the one that tells Ino when one of Dio/Bach/Liber's kids die and end up in elysium. He also flirts with her but i dont think Dio needs to know that part)
