What a mess they've made of the internet. A few evil billionaires are destroying the entire world, and they've convinced us that the entire internet is about four websites, which increasingly do not work as advertised. Bigotry and hate gets amplified, and if an artist is trying to do something interesting it gets hidden. If you try to tell the truth it gets hidden. If you try to be a good person it gets hidden.

I doubt that people will want to be called "hidden," but here's some random internet creators whose work I've liked lately, that you may have seen around.

A group of cats walk tirelessly through the desert, led by a brave tom named DuneDrifter. Recently kicked out of their home by a group of rogues after resisting the takeover, they are weary and scared.

They reach a strange site, an old, rundown, and abandoned Twoleg town. Barely any buildings are still standing, but DuneDrifter stops the group here. "This is our new home, " he tells them. "The North Star led us here. "

Now they work to rebuild and grow, dubbing themselves the "Wild Winds Clan". DuneDrifter, now Sheriff Dune, wears abandoned Twoleg accessories to show his role as their new leader and protector.

What will they face in this wild and dangerous desert? Let's see!

Scattered Pages!

This year the theme of Milwaukee's Ponyville Ciderfest convention is all about writers and the stories they tell, and one of the fun projects that are being worked on is an original anthology book with contributions from eighteen authors, three editors, and eleven artists – Scattered Pages: Tales from the Book of All Stories!

I've had the pleasure to create the cover as well as some additional art inside, and I'm pretty happy with the result. The back cover portion also includes glimpses of the other artists' work (SlushPony, Pixelkitties, The Artist Sora, Lucky Star, Nyanakaru, Ricostarlight, AlwaysDressesInStyle, Eighth, Imalou, and Gleamy Dreams).

The book will only be available at PVCF'23, so come grab a copy if you can!

Grizzlor/Classic Catra is a funny relationship. Grizzlor was probably an adult when Hordak failed to conquer Eternia and was introduced in the cartoon as Governor of Beast Island. He seems to have F-ed up and been demoted to a Force Captain, as it wasn’t long before he started getting written into scripts as just one of the options for a named henchman.

Meanwhile, Catra was introduced as a Lt. under Force Captain Adora and was promoted to take her place. Presumably she was no older than Adora. So she’s risen to be Grizzlor’s equal. She was also openly arrogant toward him, saying “We were never partners!” when he voices that belief.

If I recall correctly, their relationship was first shown in “The Sea Hawk”, where Catra seems to be attracted to the title character when he still works in shipping for the Horde. Since Adora inspires him to join the Rebellion, this seems to be an allusion to her toy package identifying Catra as “Jealous Beauty”.
