What gifts to buy for each Venus sign
Christmas is among us, my favourite season and time of the year. Venus is the planet of love, by nature it can display what we like to receive from others but if you don’t know their Venus or the house it’s in you can try to look at the persons Sun sign instead but Venus is ideal.
A gift based on their:
Sun sign will make them feel seen and like you know them well, it will be a gift they may appreciate
Venus sign is all they’ve ever desired it’s the pinnacle of their ideal gift. Especially as Venus represents how we like to receive and experience love
Aries/ 1H Venus
Gym membership, running shoes, thrill seeking experiences like tickets to bungee jumping, rock climbing, a skydiving event, gym outfit, tickets to their favourite artist, tickets to festival, cool lighter, archery classes, tickets to sports games, a shirt with their teams logo or merch from their favourite artists, scissors set, cooking tools, hair styling products like hairspray, hair dye, Fitbit/apple watch, knives set, sports gear, heavy bass headphones, tickets for those room smashing experiences, take them clay pigeon shooting, family destroying board games like Risk or Catan, diy tattoo kit, diy piercing kit, theme park tickets.
Aries Venus are by nature thrill seekers, Aries is ruled by the head and has 1st house influences, they can certainly appreciate something that ignites passion, they are impulsive and quick by nature to pursue what they desire. They need gifts that match their decisive nature and to let out that pent up energy they have in them, I honestly think experiences are the best for them. Or a box of hair dye for their impulsive moments
Tumblr media
Taurus/ 2H Venus
Hire a chef or take them to a really good restaurant for a 5 course meal that serves orgasmic food and has impeccable visuals/atmosphere OR you can even arrange a 7 course homemade meal with the finest of recipes! , fine jewellery adorned with a gemstone, culinary experiences, cooking classes, kitchenware, go to fragrantica.com and find a high quality perfume to give, premium home decor, art, antique items, antique furniture, comfortable cosy clothing, hot water bottle, gardening tools, plants, selection of seeds for their garden, diffuser, essential oils, desserts like baklava/ferro rocher, luxury goods, wellness retreat subscription, day at the spa, tea set, comfy velvet winter pillows and bed sheets
Oh my Taurus natives, they know how to break a bank for Christmas and if not they can enjoy luxury on a budget! They enjoy the finer things of life of course Venus ruled, they know how to induge in pleasures and satisfaction. Due to the earthy influence they have a green finger and a natural affinity with plants and gardening, they may love flowers or want to grow plants themselves. Taurus venuses are rather easy to gift, if you know them they usually have a vice, it may be sleep, food or pure laziness, get them something according to their vice and they will treasure it.
Tumblr media
Gemini/ 3H Venus
Really cool stationary, Spotify subscription, comedy show tickets, books from their favourite genre, a notebook, Grammarly subscription, cards against humanity board game, Duolingo subscription, multiplayer games, home kit recording studio, language learning stuff, calligraphy classes, kindle, portable car charger, Bluetooth speaker, karaoke machine, suitcase, travel accessories, a musical instrument, sealing wax kit, creative hobby supplies, microphone, podcasting equipment, audio editing software, a car, vr headset, Nintendo online subscription, Netflix/HBO/youtube/crunchyroll subscription

Blessing these natives with tools to enhance their pleasant hobbies will make them swoon in gratitude, if you want to get them something make it engaging and whimsical. These natives are ruled by mercury and always welcome something that requires the mind.

A perfect gift for Leo’s need to have an element of self expression, luxury and incorporate their personality that garners attention from peers. They need a gift that makes them feel special, something tailored specifically for them that cannot be gifted to anyone else. Personalised gifts do well either this placement too. Get them something matcha based.
Virgo Venus natives need gifts that resemble their routine and organisation, they can be rather difficult to purchase for since they have such a specific taste in mind. Gift cards are practical for them but they really need something that allows them to be more prepared. Take them out for comparison price shopping like say if you want to get them a sofa tell them you’ll take them out to Costco, Amazon, ikea, and compare the best ones. Always remember the specific niche interests of these natives they like things that are very niche and so sometimes asking them is actually the best thing to do. But make sure it’s something they’re passionate about not all of these natives live tech but they certainly are innovative.
Pisces/ 12H Venus
Seashell necklace, watercolour paints, fantasy book collection, their favourite mangas, handmade artwork, stained glass window art, dream interpretation book, flowerpedia book, vinyls, yoga mat, contact lenses, tickets to their favourite artist like mitski or the sort, create a playlist for them that’s about fantasy and imagination, they might like Disney consider taking them to Disneyland, windchime, subscription to mindfulness app, astrology book, go to the aquarium together, windchimes, art supplies, a dream journal, sound healing instruments, pay for their spiritual retreat, zen garden decor, a mystical music box, water fountain, take them to a mesmerising body of water, prayer mats, diary, write them a heartfelt letter of how amazing they are, take them to a nature retreat, wearable art
Dreamy imaginative gifts would be perfect for these people, they need gifts that allow them to appreciate their escape world where they have a reality that’s just better than here. Give them things that are as beautiful as their inner world.

How Many People? (Sydney Lohmann x Reader)
Tumblr media
I'm backkkkkk. My bad for not writing in like 2 weeks, but whatever. This was requested by an amazing anon. I hope you all enjoy it! My next fic is an Obi one so maybe I'll do that. I'm thinking of doing a part 2 to this in the near future. As always any feedback good or bad is welcomed! Have fun reading!
And shout out to @ares3460 @simp4panos @inlovewithwoso @wosofanstuff and the lovely 🧡 anon for helping me decide what kind of ending I should have
Word Count: 2.3K (Guys?!?!?!)
You watch fondly as Syndey runs around the paddock, taking pictures of everything she sees. While she had been to many races before, she just really loved Belgium for some reason. It could be that the track was nestled in the Ardennes forest or that the race was one of the most historic on the calendar. Whatever it was, Sydney was beyond excited to be there. She looked like a kid in a candy store the way her eyes darted around, taking everything in. You, on the other hand, were not that fazed by everything. Instead, you opt to stare at your girlfriend with heart eyes as you fall harder when you notice how happy she looks. Walking into the Williams garage, Sydney immediately seeks out Lily (our favourite WAG). They had become close friends as they watched you and Alex race around the track.
The weekend forecast was less than ideal. Everyone is predicting heavy rainfall on both Saturday and Sunday. Even on Friday, the dark clouds sat overhead, putting everyone on edge. Everyone knew the dangers of racing around Spa in the wet. Lando had a massive crash in 2021 and tragically, Dilano Van’t Hoff passed away at Spa, also in the wet. When you heard about Dilano your heart broke. You had raced against each other back in your karting days and become good friends. He was destined to reach Formula 1, both of you had dreamed of driving alongside each other in the pinnacle of motorsport. Now, due to the FIA’s carelessness, your friend who deserved to be where you are today was gone. Racing at Spa in the wet scared you. Not that you would admit it to anyone, although Syndey had kind of figured it out. That’s when you know something is wrong, when a driver who is usually crazy and ready to do anything, fears for their life doing something they love.
As you’re in your driver's room with your head in Syndey’s lap, her nails running softly through your hair, you can’t help but let your mind wander towards the conditions of the track. Your girlfriend notices the furrow of your eyebrows, indicating you’re in deep thought.
“So you gonna tell me?” She asks gently.
“Hm?” You hum quietly back. She rolls her eyes good-naturedly.
“You gonna tell me what you’re thinking about?” Sydney says trying to coax an answer out of you.
“Oh, nothing. Just thinking about the rain and stuff,” you speak softly as the rain patters against the window. Once the words leave your mouth Syndey knows what you’re thinking about.
“You don’t want to race do you?” She says.
“No, I mean, I don’t know. Of course I want to race, I love this track and I always want to race, but…” You trail off. Syndey stops her hand midway through your hair and raises her eyebrows in question. “But, it’s just, how many people have to die before they realize that it’s not safe in the wet?” You sigh out as tears threaten to fall out. The midfielder looks at you sympathetically before continuing her previous motion in an attempt to soothe you.
“If it’s really bad then tell them it’s not safe,” she shrugs.
“It’s not that simple, Syd. I can’t just go to the FIA and be like, ‘It’s raining too much, I’m terrified to put my foot on the accelerator, I think we should just cancel the entire weekend.’ I can’t do that.” She nods in understanding, opening her mouth to speak but is cut off when a loud knock brings the two of you out of your little world.
“Mate, let’s go! Quali is in like 20 minutes and the engineers want to go over some data,” a voice says loudly from the other side of the door. Both of you sigh as you stand up. Slipping your arms into your overalls, Sydney stands up and places her hands on either side of your waist. You freeze your movements and look at her. She places a feather-light kiss on your lips, then on your cheek, then on your forehead.
“Please, please be safe, liebe,” she mutters against your forehead. Trying your best to give her a reassuring smile you whisper against her neck,
“I will. I promise.”
Lily and Syndey cling to each other as the qualifying session progresses. Both of them praying that all twenty drivers survive the session unscathed. It doesn’t help that almost every other minute somebody new has gone for a joyride through the gravel or grass off the track. What does help is that both you and Alex Albon made it through to Q2. Your first lap in Q2 was solid, with a few moments here or there, but all together a relatively tidy lap. The lap put you P10; on the chopping block but you knew there was time to find so you weren’t necessarily worried. On the downside, the rain had only gotten heavier, opposite to what the radar suggested. Now, instead of only being on intermediates the teams and drivers had to make the switch to full wets. So, when you went back out for your second Q2 lap with four minutes left, it’s safe to say Syndey was scared shitless.
“Okay so, we have a good gap to the car in front of us so there shouldn’t be any problems with traffic. Gap to P11 is .098, again gap to the elimination zone is .098,” your engineer informs you over the radio.
“Copy. Visibility is very, very poor. So is traction. I’ll go for it, though,” you respond. Mentally you lock in. You tune out all the other distractions and prepare to give it your all for one lap. However, you can’t shake this bad feeling sitting at the bottom of your stomach. As you slam your foot down on the gas pedal, a ton of water smacks against your visor. Leaving you practically blind. At this point, you're just driving on instinct and memory. Smoothly gearing down as you approach Turn 1, you slowly apply pressure to the brake being careful to not lock up and slide through the corner. You straight-line it as quickly as possible and make the run towards your favourite corner, but also the most dangerous one, Eau Rouge. Usually, in dry conditions, you would take this flat-out, with no hesitation. The thrill of nailing it at 300kph was something you could never get enough of. As you turn left slightly to begin your climb up the hill, you feel the back end slip out. Immediately, you try to correct it, quickly switching the steering wheel to the right. This only causes the rear wheels to lose even more traction. The car starts to spin around wildly. Then, it smashes into the barrier with such force that your helmet jerks forward, threatening to rip your head off from your neck. A searing pain makes its way through your neck and your ribs rattle from the impact. It’s only when hit another solid object that you realize that you’re still moving. The second impact is a lot less painful, but you still figure that you hit the barrier at around 180kph. Everything stops shaking for a second. The rain continues to pour all around you. Yellow flashing lights can barely be made out in your peripheral. Your internal organs start to reorganize back to normal when through the sound of rain spattering on the asphalt you hear the roar of an engine getting nearer. Then, everything goes black.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Williams garage is absolute chaos. Everyone is scrambling, trying to see if you’re okay if the ambulances are on their way, or trying to watch the replay of what happened. To Sydney, everything was happening in slow motion. The second Pierre Gasly’s Alpine collided with you, tears rolled down her face. Lily was also crying at the sight of your car broken in two. Out of the corner of her watering eye, Sydney could see your race engineer frantically repeating your name into his headset, trying desperately to get you to acknowledge him. Her head feels like it’s underwater with everyone's muffled voices. Her mind directly goes to the worst possible outcomes. All the negative thoughts swim around her brain for a few minutes until the wailing of the ambulance sirens breaks her out of her trance. Desperately, she looks at the cameras on the pit wall only to see that they have lost connection. After five more agonizing minutes that felt like hours, Sydney was informed by one of the team members that you were being airlifted to the nearest hospital. She was also told that they arranged a car to take her there. Lily refused to leave her side and slipped into the car with her, holding her hand as an act of comfort. Alex’s girlfriend also had the Sky Sports live coverage playing on her phone so they saw the camera zoom in on Alex’s wide eyes as the TV replayed your accident. It was like some sick joke the way your car just snapped in two like a twig.
Finally, they arrived at the hospital, Sydney running through the rain towards the front desk.
“I’m-I’m here for Y/N Y/L/N,” she pants out, her eyes watering and her clothes drenched making her quite the sight. The receptionist nods her head as she scrolls through her computer,
“Uh huh, Ms. Y/L/N is currently in surgery. You are welcome to sit in the waiting area,” the young lady says pointing towards a room full of chairs and concerned looking family members. The Bayern player mutters out a thank you before finding a seat. Lily comes in a few seconds later and sits in the chair beside Sydney.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Lily attempts to sooth your girlfriends nerves. She continues to talk about how you’re a fighter and how you’ll be fine, but this all goes in one of Syndey’s ears and out the other. After what felt like an eternity, but really closer to about an hour, a nurse comes into the waiting area saying your name. Instantaneously, Sydney shoots out of her seat and makes her way towards the nurse.
“Is she okay? What are her injuries? Oh God, please tell me she’s okay,” the young midfielder rants out quickly. Unfazed, the nurse replies,
“Relation to the patient?”
“Girlfriend.”
Sighing, the nurse looks down at her clipboard and starts to read,“Ms. Y/L/N suffered many injuries. Major trauma to the head, a collapsed lung, a broken leg, and severe damage to her spinal cord.” The tears threaten to fall once again as your girlfriend gets told the extent of your injuries.
“Is she…Is she like stable?” Her bottom lip quivers. Again, the nurse sighs,
“She is in critical condition, currently she is hooked up to a heart monitor and an artificial ventilator to help her breathe.”
“Can I go see her?” The nurse nods before motiong to follow her.
“RIght now the doctor is just finishing up, but he will tell you more about Ms. Y/L/N’s condition.” They arrive at a brightly lit room, white covering every inch of the walls. Then, Sydney sees you. Your body laying limply on the hospital bed with what seems like a thousand different tubes and cords attached to you. You seem so small, your usually bright face now covered by an oxygen mask. The smile that can make anyone’s day better no where to be found.
“Hi, I’m Dr. Khan, I’ll be overseeing Ms. Y/L/N for the next little while. Have you been briefed on her injuries yet?” Syndey tears her eyes away from you to see a tall man in a white lab coat talking to her. She nods in response to his question. “Perfect. Well, right now she is in critical condition. The next forty-eight hours or so will be crucial. If she makes it through the first couple days her chance at surviving and making a full recovery will greatly increase. I’ll give you some privacy now, but a nurse will be in to check on her every hour. If you need anything just give me a shout.” He then turns before briskly walking out of the room, leaving Sydney and your unconscious body alone. She takes a seat in a chair alongside of your bed. Her vision goes blurry as the tears flow freely,
“Y-Y/N, please d-don’t leave m-me,” she chokes out in between sobs, “I need yo-you. I don’t k-know what I’d do without you, please liebling.”
For the next fifty minutes Sydney stays silent, her mind racing as her eyes rake over your body. The only thing brining her the slightest bit of comfort being the steady beep of your heartbeat on the monitor. Soon enough, a nurse comes in to check on you, inspecting all of the machines you’re hooked onto. Sydney for the most part ignores her, that is until a small curse leaves the womans mouth.
“What? What’s wrong?” She questions the woman. All of a sudden the nurse shouts for the doctor and presses a red button near your bedside. Within seconds Dr. Khan and more nurses come flooding into the room, one or two of them pulling Syndey out of the room. She tries to fight them, desperate to see what’s happening.
“She’s gone into cardiac arrest!” Someone shouts. Her eyes widen as the words sink in. With one last tug from behind she’s taken completely out of the room. But, she sees one last thing before they slam the door shut in her face.
The line on the heart monitor going completely flat.

Which of the guys would be open to participate in a self care/spa day with you? 🛁🫧💅
This one I separated into categories for who genuinely enjoys, stands it for you, or only allows it when a daughter wants to play (and no, that's not with you, but 'he' just needs worn way down to allow it). No warnings but I bet you'll find some surprises...
Tumblr media
Truly Finds Joy In Self-Care
Ransom Drysdale, Johnny Storm, Jake Jensen, and Lloyd Hansen
I think we all know that Ransom and Lloyd are preening, pretty bois, so this should come as no surprise to anyone. Ransom is more private with his beauty regimen, but he's not above paying good money to visit a fancy spa. Lloyd has entirely too much fun showing off how callus/indifferent he is by, ya know, ordering people's death by phone while a clay mask detoxes his pores, etc. He is also heavily critical of what products he will use again (i.e. if grittiness stuck in his mustache or if an exfoliant irritated his fresh shave).
Johnny and Jake are playful about it; Jake likes the process of relaxing more than Johnny. Jake nerds out on the chemical properties of ingredients. Johnny teases you about the frou-frou-ness of it all the whole time, HOWEVER, he is also the one who enjoys a foot massage more than any other character. Falls asleep within two damn minutes. It's bizarre and sort of endearing.
Would Do It To Please You
James Mace, Curtis Everett, and Steve Rogers
Curtis can make do with a bar of soap and a hot bath; that's really the pinnacle of indulgent care to him, but he knows you love the various face masks and lotions. He is highly amused by cucumber slices on his eyes but hates cucumber water (any infusion really, just drink some juice ffs). La Croix is better used to get blood out of this clothes than to drink. He thinks it's nasty.
Like Jake, Mace will dissect what ingredients will actually be beneficial and which products are just snake oil. He takes pride in helping you choose the best things to use or spend your time on. Mace is, unfortunately, the most practical man, and he will flat out refuse to indulge you if he has something else he needs to focus on.
Steve is a bit strange about this one. He love, love, loves for you to pamper yourself, but he will participate very reluctantly. He grew up being fawned over like a delicate doll, received treatment after treatment--often to no effect,--and even resorted to some of those far-fetched, home remedies for various ailments. Yes, his mom was a nurse and a woman of science. Yes, he did follow doctors' advice whenever they offered a useful solution. But also, yes, he was so sick with so many things for so long that he tried everything.
Steve associates a lot of self-care 'treatments' with being ill...which he is not...not anymore. Please, do not get him started on essential oils. You think he lectures as Cap? Hoo boy...
Begrudgingly Is A Daughter's Palette
Jimmy Dobyne, Ari Levinson, and Bucky Barnes
For Jimmy, there's just some stuff you do for your kids simply because they're your kids, and playing with makeup or face mask, nail polish or hair clips, and even every product around the rim of the tub is one of those things.
Ari and Bucky get roped into plaiting practice since they have some length of hair to braid, but these two do not sit still well. They each find sneaky ways to let their girls enjoy spa stuff while they do not have to. Your daughter can get a little manicure while he gets a haircut or shave. That's about the extent of their 'enjoyment.'
As for why they won't participate with you specifically? Jimmy, Ari, and Bucky all consider spa/self-care to be a thing you should do with your girl friends (or your daughters, hint hint). These three place a heavy value on you keeping up those fun relationships with others. They also know that when the ladies do a spa day, the men folk are free to meet up for something else, like sports or drinking or both.
Thank you for asking!

today would’ve been Dilano van ‘t Hoff’s birthday. he would’ve turned 19 today. but he lost his life at Spa, at a track that is not just dangerous when it’s wet, it’s deadly. a track that claimed lives before. this weekend we’ll be racing at Spa and we’re most definitely looking at a wet weekend. we’ll most likely have two memorials before the race, when we should have none. and the fia still does nothing to ensure drivers’ safety. making it a sprint weekend as well with the new tyre regulations too, just proves that, for them, spectacle is above anything else. racing is dangerous, but it shouldn’t cost the lives of people following their dreams. going back to that track, where people lost friends at, passing those corners must be haunting and requires enormous mental strength. i just hope that all drivers will have a safe race and nothing bad will happen to any of them. this should not be a thing. as fans of this sport, we should look forward to race weekends with excitement and not with anxiety, genuinely fearing for people’s lives. i’ve seen many posts saying that they’re so nervous because of this. and i totally agree. that is unacceptable, especially in a sport that is regarded as “the pinnacle of motorsport”. safety should be above all else. we need to do better.

Inspired by this, here is a lestappen time loop ficlet
Also posted here on ao3
Trigger warning for death, blood, suicide and car crashes
The doctors and scientists and string theory physicists still can’t fully explain how or why it happens. Some say it’s a trauma response. Others say it’s the result of an event so stressful to your personal narrative it severes your timeline into all of its possibilities. Every infinitive timeline comes to fruition, and you have to live them all: it's a time loop.
After the fifth iteration, Max wishes a sniper would take him out in his motor home by the track each morning rather than live through the events again.
Because no matter what he does, no matter if he makes another driver DNF or cheats or races fair, Max holds Charles Leclerc in his arms as il predestinato dies beside his Ferrari on a warm July day in Spa.
The first time--the time that was Max’s real timeline--Max starts in P2 and Charles in P1. They make it to the first corner but don’t make it to the pinnacle of the turn before Lewis is squeezed out by Oscar and George, and Lewis launches into the back of Charles’s Ferrari and a six car pileup happens. Max is taken out by the swing of Charles’s car, and slams into the wall. Elsewhere, cars are going up and over halos, hitting walls, losing front wings. Six of the top ten qualifiers DNF on the first turn.
After Max has shaken his head clear and realized his car has its nose in the wall, he takes in the carnage. Lewis is already out of his car, checking on Carlos who is crashed against his rear wing. Oscar is not far away, car sitting cockeyed with a broken axle, but he’s moving, taking out his steering wheel to get out of the car.
Then Max sees the other Ferrari. It is sitting further up the track, turned almost 180 degrees from the direction the cars were traveling in. Both axles are broken, all four wheels gone. Max can see one still wobbling down the track past the car. Red carbon fiber litters the track around it like a blood spray. And inside, Charles Leclerc is not moving.
Max throws his steering wheel out of the car and pulls himself out with the halo. He runs. It feels like slow motion as his feet travel over the spray of red carbon fiber, reaching the side of the Ferrari first as others are still shell shocked from their own crashes and not noticing. Where are the marshals? Max leans against the car and reaches past the halo as he calls Charles's name. He shakes Charles's shoulder, and the red and white helmet moves subtly.
"Charles? Charles?" Max reaches and flips open his visor. Charles's eyes are closed.
Max hoists him from the car by the straps on the shoulders of his race suit and doesn't see the blood until a marshal is at his side helping get Charles's feet over the halo. It subtly darkens his suit, mixing with the rosso corsa. The Monaco flag at his waist is pure red, the white stripe dyed, with a piece of carbon fiber sitting beside it, lodged in Charles's abdomen.
Charles sags against Max he lowers them to the ground together. He hovers his hands over the carbon fiber, knowing he shouldn't remove it but not knowing hot to make it better. Max desperately looks to the marshal through blurring eyes, but the marshal is facing away, waving down others to help.
Max unclips Charles's helmet and slides it off, then carefully pulls off his balaclava so he can openly breath. His eyes flutter open for a moment.
"Max?"
Max's heart jumps. The adrenaline makes his fingers shake. His hands never shake, always sure on the wheel of his own car even as the G forces cause constant adrenaline to surge under his skin.
"Charles? Are you with me? Charles?"
Charles's eyes flutter shut, and he takes a deep breath. Blood bubbles at the corner of his mouth. Max tightens his hold on Charles, causing more blood to seep into his own race suit and turn the navy to black. His hands are covered in it, Charles's abdominal wound bleeding profusely.
"Charles? Charles?"
Max hears the ambulance arrive. He just keeps holding Charles because he knows it's too late. A line of blood is running from the corner of Charles's mouth down his cheek and dripping from his jawline to the ground. His chest isn't moving.
"Max, we need to put him on the stretcher." Max has to consciously loosen his arms, going one muscle at a time to let go of the body against his. He lets the paramedics lift Charles onto the stretcher, red immediately staining the cover of the cushions beneath. Max is still sitting on the ground beside the destroyed Ferrari when they roll the stretcher into the ambulance and close the doors. He is still there when the vehicle pulls away.
A marshal approaches him. "Are you hurt? Are you okay?"
The track medical car hovers behind her. Max knows he needs to go back to his garage. He needs to move, stand, anything. Instead his brain is just playing a loop. He's gone, he's gone, he's gone.
The time loop immediately begins. Every time Max falls asleep after the crash, he goes back to opening his eyes the Sunday morning of Spa. He has tried to break it by staying up as long as possible, staying up until his plane takes him back to Monaco and he sleeps in his own bed, has tried taking melatonin to stay asleep longer or break the cycle, has tried drinking himself into a stupor to black out (and learned time loops get rid of hangovers), has tried to sleep through the entire day rather than go to the track.
Once he realizes he can't break the loop and has still watched Charles die in his arms a dozen times, he starts trying to change the crash. First, Max makes Lewis DNF so he is not there to be squeezed by George and Oscar. Instead, Max hits Charles earlier in the start. This time, Max passes out from the G forces of the crash and wakes to start the day again immediately. He tries making Lewis DNF no less than four times before he realizes it's moot. Max or George or Oscar or Carlos or Lando or Checo hit him instead. So Max moves on to trying to make Oscar DNF. It has the same results. Then George. By the time he has worked his way through three exhausting iterations of making George DNF before Oscar and him bump Lewis, Max admits defeat. In every iteration, every repetition of the loop since the initial crash, Charles has still died with a piece of carbon fiber in a vital organ. Max usually holds him. There's a handful of iterations when he's so mentally exhausted, nerves so shot and adrenaline so high from expecting the crash, that he just can't. It's hard, so hard, to watch someone you've known your whole life die in your arms. Max thinks maybe he did something in his life to deserve this Sisyphean hell, that maybe how he had taken the title in 2021, or the math test he cheated on when he was thirteen, or the time he stole money out of his father's wallet to buy alcohol with his friends means that he deserves this.
Max can't break the time loop. When he thinks he can't take it anymore, he tries telling Charles. It's hard to see Charles before the race, knowing what happens. He has barely spoken to Charles ahead of the race for all of these iterations, can't stomach seeing him safe and happy before him when he will be dead in a few hours. It should make it better, to know Charles gets the morning before the race to live one last time, but it just makes Max sad. When he looks at Charles, bright green eyes and alive, he still only sees the blood running from the corner of his mouth.
But Max pulls Charles aside before the Belgian anthem, and hurriedly tells him that he will be hit from behind by Lewis, and the chaos that will ensue. It depends on the day who else hits Charles. Sometimes it is Lando, sometimes Checo. Another car always hits him, takes off a few of the wheels and starts the process of destroying his car so it always ends the same. Max tells Charles and he laughs, then sobers at Max's serious expression.
"You are feeling ill, no?" he asks. Max wonders if he looks pale.
"Charles, I am serious. You will be hit and when you are hit you... are hurt. You have start the race different, of course. Do not go down the inside."
"This is being a silly way to win, Max."
Max groans, frustrated. "You are not listening to me, I am trying to help you." I don't know if I can watch you die again. "I am in a time loop because of the crash that is happening today. You die. Every time."
"Max, aren't you knowing time loops aren't real?"
Telling Charles doesn't work. Charles does appear to alter his racing line from the one Max normally sees him take, but it all plays out the same. Lewis is still squeezed, and it catapults Oscar into Charles instead this time, taking off his rear wing and sending him spinning where he hits Max, and then is hit from the side by Checo. Max rushes to the Ferrari and pulls Charles out of the car by his shoulder straps, like the first time, and for the hundredth time holds Charles in his arms while the marshals arrive and the ambulance is too late. Inside his helmet, tears run down Max's cheeks and he wonders again what he has done to deserve this.
After hundreds of iterations, once Max has truly resigned to the fact that he cannot save Charles, that he cannot change anything significantly enough to keep Charles from being hit and keep the rosso corsa carbon fiber of his own Ferrari from stabbing him, Max just tries to be there for Charles.
From races when Max has not rushed to the Ferrari and stayed awake long enough to see replays and the media fallout, Max knows that if he does not go to Charles, no one else does. It is another small torture: sometimes another driver is there beside Max as he holds Charles, but no one else goes if Max does not. Once, it had been Lewis beside Max. He held Charles's hand as he bled out in Max's arms. Once it was George, who flagged down the marshals and the ambulance, but they still didn't arrive in time. Twice it has been Carlos, who helped take Charles's helmet off and wept with Max after they carted Charles's body away. Max is exhausted, living every day knowing something so terrible will happen. It is exhausting to know the crash is coming, to live through his own car crashing, then seeing the wrecked Ferrari, and being with Charles at the end.
It's horrible the few times he passes out in the crash, falls asleep in the garage after the race suspension, or once when he went to the hospital himself and fell asleep during a MRI. It means he wakes up to start the day over even sooner, has to face the crash again without the hours in between the decompress from the horror of it all.
When Max doesn't think he can take the time loop anymore, he tries the most severe way to find a way out. He wonders what happened in that universe when his assistant or trainer or some Red Bull officer found his body with slit wrists in his motorhome. But Max wakes in his bed the next morning, perfectly healthy and alive and he pulls a pillow over his face to scream into it.
After that, he becomes desensitized to it all. Max simply goes through the motions of the day, of the events that apparently have to happen. He starts the race from P1 and crashes into the wall. He launches himself out of it to go pull Charles from the Ferrari. He sits on the pavement with carbon fiber shrapnel digging into him and Charles bleeding out onto his race suit. Across dozens and dozens of races he resigns to his fate and, unwilling to let Charles die inside the car alone, he goes to the Ferrari. Across hundreds of races holding Charles as he dies, he wonders why Charles's death affects him so deeply it has put him into a time loop. After hundreds of more crashes where he takes Charles's helmet off and cradles his head as he takes his last breath, Max thinks maybe, just maybe, the rivalry of their childhood and the amicable friendship of their adulthood was something more.
But he will never know. Because on a sunny July day in Spa, Belgium il predestinado, the phoenix to his dragon, his esteemed rival, dies in Max's arms in front of the whole world with a sea of rosso corsa carbon fiber sparkling around them.

honestly, i always felt the same where "charles fell first, max fell harder". i never quite imagined it to be the same as those typical tropes where one loves quietly and the loves violently and suddenly though i totally think it is them when described as such.
i do think charles has been interested in max since he was younger, but it just manifested itself as intense rivalry where both parties had something to prove to get to the big leagues. charles could perhaps feel himself sink slowly into the story that is max verstappen and wanted nothing to do with it, and so he fights. he fights it, he doesn't want it, but soon he succumbs and finds himself chasing after the only benchmark that matters. it started when they were children, it continues into adolescence and it dies down when moving up the feeder series. it's only when they're both in formula 1 where charles continues to keep his interest quiet, keeps watching max, allows to give his honest feelings about potential rivals and never fails to bring max up. it's not like he's shy to talk about max, nor is he shy in walking right up to max. but it's tense, it's awkward and neither of them know how to react.
charles had certainly expressed his disdain in austria 2019, with how much he's willing to put love aside for the win. but that too has dissipated, because in the end, charles has fallen for max long ago, and even with his petty and grudging-held hands, he'll talk and joke like nothing even happened.
really it's only recently that charles and max interact more often than not. and it's in these moments where you can see charles treat these moments with slight reverence, as something to keep, as something to have fun with. he laughs, he smiles, he giggles whenever max does something because he's just that enamoured. he defends max in the media, he understands what max has to say, he knows just how much max has left an impact on the formula 1 world. he fell first, all the way back they were teens, he doesn't have a lot of expectations now, not when it's all destroyed by max. bc ofc it has to be max to destroy what charles thought was the norm.
in comparison, max fell harder. it may look like he fell first, and maybe he did. maybe he found a friend in charles, maybe he wanted nothing but peace ever since the start ever since they were both kids with big dreams. but they couldn't be friends, not now, they were born to push each other to the limit no matter what. so their interactions were always rough from the start and it's muddy and unclear to see who would fall first but i think max would perhaps set his feelings aside as soon as he reached the pinnacle of motorsport, whereas charles would use it as fuel to keep going.
max fell harder because it just consumed him over the years because as soon as charles entered the paddock and took the formula 1 world by storm after being accepted into sauber, max had claimed charles as his rival. not anyone else. just charles. it's these interactions, ones that range from shooting glances to just straight up approaching him without a plan — looking at you monaco 2022. maybe austria 2019 is the first instance max finally realised himself, how he kept brushing aside charles' anger to end with the great unfollowing. maybe, when spa and monza swings around, he saw how the podiums treat charles and that's when it gets worse. max just keeps initiating the interactions, is the first (most of the time) to keep praising charles, to go up to charles and just talk and maybe in the middle of it he realises just what he's doing. singapore 2019 had been a disaster of an interaction — what do you mean geography nerd max verstappen, someone who can recite which flag comes from which country, doesn't know the difference between the flags of singapore and monaco? and it just grows worse and worse because he just doesn't stop. why would he — it's not the way he's raised.
ANYWAY BASICALLY, you can def swing it either way as to who "fell first", and who "fell harder". and maybe they both fell at the same time, but charles loves with soft adoration and max loves and loves and loves until he cannot.
(p.s. sorry for the long ask LMAO you can reply to this mess or not, i just wanted someone to talk to about this take hsjdkd)
first of all anon i love you. i love you. i love you 3000 because i love long asks and yours especially because it’s like poetry. so no, your apology for long ask is not accepted because this is so beautiful and describes their dynamic just the way i have always seen it circa 2022.
ps. i have re-read this 5 times and it still makes me grin like an idiot. there’s nothing i could possibly add to this. also feel free to stop and share whatever is on your mind about those two ♥️

Why Hungary was so hollow
An F1 win is an amazing achievement. One of the pinnacles of a drivers career. As a fan, we remember the ones that carry real weight to them, that come with a backstory, a driver we have felt has been unfortunate in the past, a truly spectacular drive.
Most of the drivers on the current F1 grid fall into that category. Pierre’s spectacular drive at Monza, the sheer weight of emotion for Charles at Spa, the feeling of justice for Lewis in Canada, the absolutely fairytale nature of Max in Barcelona, after driving brilliantly for 3 years against the might of that Red Bull car we all felt Lando deserved that win in Miami and who can forget the spectacular last to first debut win of Checo in Sakir when he was facing the end of his career.
We cherish them because they were special, earned, deserved. It’s what makes people cry over this sport and watch it all their life.
And this is why what happened in Hungary makes me uncomfortable and goes against the nature of what makes this sport special.
Team orders are not new. Hell Valtteri is cracking jokes about them now. For me they came to the forefront in the Michael Schumacher Ferrari days. And they were not liked. They were booed on the podium and on one occasion even messed it up and had the wrong driver win on the line. However it became accepted that if you want to win a championship, you had to resort to it.
And my God did Mercedes and Red Bull resort to it!
However it was going on further down the field for constructors points. I’ve never hidden from the fact that Carlos and Lando’s first podiums for McLaren required team orders (and penalties for Hamilton). We have seen Kevin gain more penalty points than actual points this season carrying out team orders. I swear Fernando is in charge of Aston’s and previously Alpine’s team orders. Somehow it became the norm to apply team orders for any situation and that was never going to end well.
Dispute it all you want Monza 2021 was a race decided on team orders, (confirmed yet again last week by Zak Brown) and at the point maybe people should have sat up, took notice and realised this is a bit of a slippery slope we are on. But no it was 2021, the Max and Lewis show, so a lot of other things got ignored.
And so to Hungary 2024. Now this is not analysis of why McLaren pitted who when, or why they now admit it never occurred to them they might be under pressure from people behind (seriously McLaren. SERIOUSLY!!!). Or the radio messages 🤬🤬🤬 Or the fact that apparently Lando was the reason this all went tits up ?!?!?!?!? We are going to look at how team orders have now handed a driver their first win in circumstances almost impossible to justify and seemingly implying they are banking that favour for later in the season.
There are two things that are key to this. Firstly the start and then everything that happened around the second pitstops.
Oscar got the lead yes, but then Max took 7 laps to let Lando through and only when threatened with a penalty, gifting Oscar that lead.
However Oscar’s first little off road adventuring just before the second pitstop changed a lot in the race. Lando caught him up. Now that nice gap McLaren had to double stack had gone.
They called Lando in as Lewis was 9 seconds behind, in out, 2 laps later Oscar in, out. Up to now this its straight forward. Simple switcharoo, easy 1-2.
Then Oscar went off the track again. This puts him 3 seconds behind Lando and 7 seconds ahead of Lewis. He is now closer to Lewis than Lando was before the pitstops.
At this point McLaren should have gone into save the race mode, instead they were transfixed on what they thought was going to happen 5 laps ago.
And what resulted from this was embarrassing not only for McLaren but F1. Team orders resulted in a driver slowing down a nearly 7 second lead to give his team mate who admitted he couldn’t catch him, his first win. And like most people I sat there thinking, WTF!
We watch F1 for the racing, the intelligence required to predict the best way forward to win the race. The necessity of the perfect pitstop and keeping the car on the grey stuff. It cheapens it when team orders gets used so flagrantly.
I’ve seen McLaren do this before in 1997 with Mika Hakkinen) however difference being Mika was a driver that nearly died in a crash in 1995. He had been on the grid a while and when McLaren rocked up with their missile in 1997 the drivers made an agreement whoever lead into the first corner of the first race could have the win. Mika led most of the race and then misheard a garbled radio message (no digital back then) and came into the pits when he didn’t need to. Coulthard was asked to give the place back and did (and we know how that ended, see Hungarian commentary for proof). End result people felt that win for Hakkinen was deserved, earned.
Hungary didn’t have the same sense of fairness about it. It wasn’t the first or last race of the season, no championships have been decided, every point counts. Oscar yes had driven a great 2/3rds of the race. But tiny errors had put him in the position he was in. If it was merely the undercut then that would have been resolved quickly. It came down to errors and lack of pace at the end. If you can’t catch the leader, how the hell can you expect to lead?
I used to think Esteban had the luckiest win on the F1 grid with Bottas bowling 7 cars at the start of the race. Nope this now takes that honour.
Let’s remember currently this is not for a championship (people would argue it hinders the championship). This was team orders because they can. The first time Oscar had every found himself near a win and despite the fact in any other circumstances he would have to take those mistakes as lessons learnt, McLaren gave him the win, because they think they are going to need him to return the favour later in the season. (Which means we will be going through this shitshow again).
That’s what sours the win and makes it feel hollow. Yes at some point any driver in a front running team is going to be gifted a win but not their first and not so obviously. It cheapens the credit of an F1 win period.
And I feel for those drivers who put in years of work at teams with non competitive cars. Who drove brilliantly. Who when the time came had to fight for that first win, case in point Seb or Jenson. Or had their first wins taken from them by the team’s errors, think Lando and George. There is no sense of accomplishment for Oscar.
Lando didn’t spoil that moment for Oscar. It’s hard to celebrate a win that doesn’t feel like it was earned.
The worst part of this, we all knew Oscar would win a race eventually. This didn’t need to be done at all. This for me feels like Max’s first title. Will always be questioned because of outside assistance, was it earned or was it gifted?
Hungary 2024 is not a race F1 should look back on fondly.

today in chontent: july 30th
Tumblr media
source: motorsport.com & twitter series: 2014, karting
In 2014, Jules wrote a series of columns for Motorsport.com following his quest within F1:
"Starting today, Jules Bianchi will guide the readers of JA on F1 on a unique journey of discovery of Formula 1, as seen through the eyes of one of the best young driving talents on the world motorsport scene. Jules has been a driver with the Marussia F1 Team for a year and a half, fulfilling one of his boyhood dreams, to drive at the pinnacle of the sport. He has another dream to fulfill, one with a red tone to it; to drive for the famous Scuderia Ferrari. Since 2009 Jules has been part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and a few weeks ago he was called in to an official test at Silverstone for the Maranello team."
His first article was posted in July 2014, titled "Voyage to the centre of Formula 1":
Jules Bianchi writes: “Realizing your dreams is one of the most beautiful things that can happen to a person and I am happy to have fulfilled the biggest dream, which is to drive in F1. I have been dreaming of it since I was a kid but only when I started racing single seaters did I realize that my hopes could become a reality. If you had told me this would happen, when I was 13 years old, I would not have believed you.
But I’ve done it and I’m half way through my second season in the top category and I want to try to take all of you behind the scenes and show you my life and my journey, to show you what it means to be part of this special world, which seems so remote and unattainable.
Let's start by saying that to race in Formula 1 is something that gives me a lot of excitement: this is the first word that comes to mind. The second is professionalism: if you want to excel you have to be professional in every little detail and that is true for us drivers as much as for all those who work in the various roles. It 's something that I realized immediately; right from the first time I was able to see up close how Ferrari operates. Even at Marussia, although the scale of the operation is certainly different from the Scuderia, the level of professionalism is really high.
Ours is a very tough sport, where if you do not always give 100%, whatever the circumstances, you risk falling behind straight away. This means that you always need the utmost concentration, both when working on the track and when you are free from specific commitments, because you can never back off. This is why ' if I have to choose a third word to associate with Formula 1 I would say tiredness: not only physical - to drive these cars is not exactly a breeze and to do this job you have to work a lot on athletic training, even during the race weekend - but, more important, mental tiredness.
I never get bored by the routine; it 's true that the Grand Prix weekend is a bit like a theatre show, which you repeat in exactly he same format every time, in nineteen different venues. But I don’t mind this repetition at all.
The two-week summer break comes at just the right time. We’ve been on the go, travelling the world, pretty much since the end of January, when I started driving in the winter tests. But now we can kick back a little and try to recharge the batteries for the second half of the season.
In the last few races I could really see our guys in the pit garages beginning to feel fatigued and I too cannot wait to get a rest. I'm not planning anything special, not even to celebrate my 25th birthday on August 3; a few days at home in Geneva with the family and then a little sunshine with friends at the beach somewhere, but not to some far distant place with more time zone changes - I’ve had plenty of that already and more lies in wait for me from late August to late November.
When I have some free time I like to play sports with my friends. I always try to organize a small competition, either karts or playing squash or football: this is what I will be up to before restarting the engines at Spa, where we’ll race in the Belgian Grand Prix.
Of course I have some time now to think about what has happened in this first part of the season because it is not that you can completely clear Formula 1 out of your head, even on vacation.
I'm happy with how things have gone so far: we have made a big step forward compared to last year and you can begin to see the results. The points finish in Monte Carlo, with ninth place was definitely the best moment and it was important to be able to get into Q2 twice (the second part of qualifying for the top 16 cars) in Silverstone and a few days ago at the Hungaroring: it means that we are approaching the core group even though the distance is still quite wide.
The worst day? That’s an easy one - Sunday in Montreal where I was unable to complete even the first lap, boy what a shame ..
Another beautiful moment was the Silverstone test with Ferrari. Putting on those scarlet overalls with the Prancing Horse on the chest is always an unbelievable feeling, as is climbing into the cockpit. I’ve done it before but the emotion is very powerful, very beautiful.
For me Ferrari is like a second family and to drive full time with that Prancing Horse remains my goal, my ultimate dream.
Will I ever get to realize that dream? I don’t know. But given that I have fulfilled my first goal of driving in F1, why not aspire to fulfilling the even bigger dream?
Until next time..
Jules

The castle itself is a huge and vast living organism with a heart that had been created in ancient times by powerful witches. The moats of Cloud Tower are its roots and the towers its branches, and a magical energy circulates through the school in a way similar to blood flow.
Cloud Tower is hard to enter, as there is a defence field surrounding it. There are ways of getting past this defence, however: tunnels that connect the schools, and one may enter if invited. Along with that, the tower can be manipulated like a high tech confusion device by the one who is able to control it. This twists the building into forming new corridors or passages to confuse all those inside.
Education
Students spend at three years at Cloud Tower studying witchcraft. There is also a 5 year advanced programme.
Specifically year 1 they have classes in, Magical History and Lore, Mayhem, Hexes, Enchantment and Charms, Potion theory and Basic Witchcraft 101.
In year 2 they have, Alchemy, Runes and Glyphs, Cursology, Potionology, Demonology and Necromancy, Divination, and Metamorphosymbiosis.
in year 3 the witches have to do a thesis (reporting and detailing the process in creating a new spell, item, potion etc), they also have a few more classes such as learning the basics of Shadow magic, Blood magic and meditation (this one is setting up the graduating students to be able to increase their power levels of their own after they graduate)
School Building
This campus is a dark purple tower with spires located on a hill or a mountain. It receives its name from how cloudy the place where its location is.
Amphitheater
The amphitheatre is where all the witches gather and discuss important issues. The amphitheatre has benches with chairs for the students and has a pentagram in the middle of the floor. It has a balcony overhead with three thrones, the one in the middle is bigger than the others.
Griffin's Office
Headmistress Griffin's office is a large room with a desk and bookshelves. A Crystal Ball and stacks of books sits on the desk. In the room is a passageway to another room, at the center of which is a dragon skull.
Dungeons
The dungeons is where all the prisoners are kept. The dungeons have an ancient runic lock on them that keeps them from escaping with their magic.
Library
The library is where books on witchcraft, spells, and potions are located. There is a secret door that leads to a crypt, the Storeroom of Forbidden Books, under the library.
Archives
The Archives contain books on every fairy and witch that ever existed in the Magic Dimension.
Heart of Cloud Tower
At the centre of Cloud Tower, there is a point where all the magical energy circulating the building comes from and goes through. This is considered Griffin's "personal spa". This is where Griffin goes to rejuvenate her magic. Near the heart is a room with gargoyles that can be used to protect whoever controls them.
Other rooms include: Classrooms, Student Dorms, Windswept Terrace, Kitchen, Cafeteria
