What does Ren think of Mina's older design?
Tumblr media
Mina: "Hey Ren, it's been a long time."
Ren: *older, sporting a small beard* "H-Hello...." *internally* 'Gods, she grew beautiful.'

The Veil of the Pink Lotus
Nestled in the heart of Yongjugol, a city cloaked in neon lights and veiled secrets, stood the Pink Lotus—a club unlike any other. It wasn’t merely a venue for indulgence; it symbolized the city’s dichotomy: glamour masking decadence, beauty concealing power.
The Pink Lotus was more than its ornate façade of shimmering glass and cascading silk curtains. To the uninitiated, it was the pinnacle of exclusivity—a playground for the rich to escape their carefully curated lives. But to those who knew its depths, it was a labyrinth of whispered promises and untold mysteries.
The club was divided into layers, each more exclusive than the last. The main floor was a feast for the senses, where music, laughter, and clinking glasses wove a spell of decadence.
The Pink Lotus was more than just a nightclub—it was a world unto itself. The main hall dazzled with chandeliers that seemed to hold stars, while velvet drapes and sleek furniture oozed opulence. Patrons sipped rare vintages and swayed to live performances by artists who seemed almost otherworldly. Yet, there was something more beneath the surface—an intangible allure beyond luxury.
Behind velvet curtains and gilded doors lay the true essence of the Pink Lotus: private chambers where the elite bartered not just for pleasure but for power. Deals were struck in hushed tones, and secrets were exchanged under the guise of intimacy.
It was a place where a network of influence extended far beyond Yongjugol. The Pink Lotus wasn’t just a sanctuary for the affluent; it was a hub for clandestine operations—money laundering, political manipulation, prostitution, and even espionage. And some whispered of something even more sinister lurking within its shadows…

Ever heard of Blue Lotus? There's a water lily from Egypt that when smoked, causes euphoria and hallucinations.
Or is there?
In every culture that discovers a plant that makes you feel good (betel nut, dagga, opium, kava kava, khat, cannabis) there are modern day users of that drug. All 6 examples have millions of users, especially where the plant grows natively.
So why then, do the Egyptians not use blue lotus? Nymphaea caerulea and Nelumbo nucifera both contain nuciferine and aporphine, which Wikipedia claims produce recreational effects. But do they?
Look into the pharmacology of these compounds and you'll find a disturbing secret, they act like antipsychotics. Dopamine antagonists. 5ht2a antagonists too. They were used in old timey medicine before being discarded for being too toxic and not effective enough.
Ask people who have grown their own lotus about the effects, and they'll say it's mildly sedating when brewed into tea and maybe, just maybe a little fun if smoked in small doses. Too much though and the antagonism kills any buzz. So what's going on?
A study found a staggering 92% of tested blue lotus and valerian root extracts actually contained synthetic cannabinoids. That's why they feel like weed. That's why people can't agree on the effects. Blue lotus is just spice, one of the most unpredictable substances you can use.
I'm not saying never use these products, im saying that if you use blue/pink lotus you can't go in expecting to commune with Egyptian spirits, you can't think it's safe and harmless. Treat it like the poison synthetic cannabinoids are. Fun in small doses for short periods of time, but devastating when taken in excess. Excess bye the way is defined as taking 7mg instead of 3mg compound soaked unevenly into inert plant material. So be careful.

Note
Ren must ask a question that will decide his fate. Who has the better ass? Nora or Mina?
Ren: *sweats* "Why? Just why!?"
Mina: "Answer the question, handsome~?"
Nora: "Yeah, Renny. Answer!"
Ren: "Both...?"
Ruby: *aims Crescent Rose at him* "Don't wuss out!"
