The quilted progress pride pillowcase is finished! Finally used all those fancy decorative stitches my sewing machine has. They are indeed very decorative. First time actually finishing a quilt and being happy with it. Yes, it's a little bubbly and wonky, but I don't care. Because it's a pillowcase, nobody would notice if it were all perfectly neat. The filling is a cobbled together bunch of floof from all the pillows my dog has torn up in the past. Don't worry, she won't get this one.

Based on my own pattern, which is in turn based on the progress pride flag design by Valentino Vecchietti.

I went with the hand of glory for a motif because it was thought to paralyze or put people to sleep, and what's better for a pillow?

This is the most beading I've ever done in a project and it was really satisfying.

The rhinestone trim though? A real nightmare. Hated it. Tedious. Awful.

Ocean Pillow

I got a king-sized pillow, but my vintage king-sized pillowcases are dry rotted and shredding. So I finally found the purpose of my yard of octopus/ocean fabric. Voila!

If you'll all excuse me, I'm off to snuggle the sea.

For fairly simple pillowcases, they’re pretty expensive to make! $20 in fabric alone for each pillowcase, ouch.

But they are very fun, and they fit a standard pillow.

Finished the next pillow! It's about 50-50 embroidery and beading this time. Since the colors have been pretty flat on this one, I wanted to figure out a way to add variety to the mandrake without going full blended detail.
