So I liked the Circle Back pattern so much I had to throw another one together, this time in a rainbow colourway and a black background.
Tumblr media
It went together before I remembered to take progress photos, but here we go, the completed quilt top coming in at 62” x 78”.
Very nice throw size.
Tumblr media
I almost used a completely different print for the final border that had most of the colours, but decided I wanted to pull the purple accent out of the patchwork, so I went with the purple border.

And done but for the quilting. It’s 94” square and I love it.

Now to chop them into little pieces!

Finally got back to this sucker :D
Tumblr media
And can I just say, I love Canadian fat quarters over American fat quarters.
The Circle Back pattern says 12 fat quarters will make a twin size and 14 will make a queen.
But that’s American fat quarters.
With Canadian cut fat quarters, 12 will make a queen. Which is great because I picked 12 of the 14 colours, leaving the darkest for the accent and discarding the lightest completely, and I got enough blocks for the queen size.

100 block pieces and this one is the only one I have enough of a problem with to seam rip and sew again. Thank god lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four block pieces together makes these:
Tumblr media
And some finished blocks laid out look like so!
Tumblr media
Black&Whites with dark fuschia pink.
Tumblr media
Forgot to take a photo of the ten fat quarters I picked out, but you can see some of the patterns in the few blocks I’ve got done!

The pattern is a free patter called Garden Tiles by Ariga Mahmoudlou for Robert Kaufman, available here: https://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/garden_tiles_3569/#color:1
Tumblr media
I did slightly adjust it, making the prints an inch wider and adding another row because I wanted it longer, but i love how it displays the prints.
EDIT:
omg
So, i edited the pattern, right? Decided to cut my blocks an inch wider.
and then forgot to add that into the sashing.
So here I am, ripping out two looong seams because i am an idiot LMAO
Tumblr media
At least I have enough of the light background to remake my sashing, seeing as all the white 2.5” strips are short.
Ah well. At least it’s only two long seams and not seven.
EDIT2:
Tumblr media
Got the piecing all done and final borders on! *\o/*

The colours faded in these photo (‘cause i suck at taking pics with my phone), but I love how this turned out! Once the longarm is up and running again, i’m definitely using a pinky/purple thread to quilt this. It’ll look so good.
I don’t usually do three plain borders, but I needed a dark to frame it first, then i had a bit of the light left over and a ton of the navy for the final border and binding.
Batiks! I’ve been wanting to try Jordan Fabric’s Kings Crown pattern for a while, no matter how much I dislike half square triangles (and flying geese) so I pulled some batiks I found on sale out of my stash and cut all the pieces I’ll need.
Tumblr media
I have no idea how the colour combination will work out, but I am excited to find out.

Update: two blocks done! (Needs ironing lol)
Tumblr media
Definitely glad I picked the darkest of the line to be the accent instead of grabbing a black toscana (it’s already very prominent).

Ok, so I ended up with white thread because the machine hates variegated thread.
Still looks good!

There is heart quilting because you are loved.

There is a rainbow on the back because you are a part of our community.

Free pattern by Robert Kaufman again, Luminous Nine Patch. Decided to try something fun with it.
Tumblr media
I think it’ll turn out nice.
Here’s a link to the pattern if anyone is interested:

Baby, she done.
Tumblr media
I did put the white minky on the back to keep it soft and warm, and show off the rainbow coloured binding.
Tumblr media
I quilted flowers and bees on it because about half of the prints had either flowers or bugs/animals on them, butterflies, dragonflies, chicken feet, beetles, ect.
I think it turned out lovely, even if halfway through I was having second thoughts about it LOL
Cozy Quilt Designs Popup is so fast omg.
I forgot to take a photo while I was piecing and got all sixteen blocks done in no time at all.
Tumblr media
Just layout and borders left!

Finally got this on the long arm!
Tumblr media
I found a bright green wideback cotton I liked and had this three leaf clover pattern in the computer. I chose a darker green thread so you could see the quilting a bit more then usual.
Tumblr media
Same dark green binding as the inner border, looks great on the back. As much as green is my least favourite colour, sometimes I do like it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
St Patrick’s Day is coming up, and I think I’ve only done one green (and black) quilt before, so here we go on another one (with a pale background this time).
I found a cute free pattern called Lady Luck by Robert Kaufman and decided to try it. I am changing it up juuuust a little, but I think it’s gonna turn out great.
(Here’s a link to the pattern if anyone is curious: https://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/lady_luck_4641/ )

Added my two borders and she sits at 72” square. Gonna have to check to see what I like for backing, but I have enough of the mint border to use as binding.
Tumblr media
It was very fast to make. Felt like the cutting took longer than the sewing lol.
Tumblr media
Nine fat quarters from Walmart that I thought were pretty. I added the white-on-white from my stash and did something simple and soft with them. The pattern is a Jordan Fabric’s free pattern called It’s Hip to Be Square.
Once the blocks are together imma need to find some kind of border fabric. Not looking forward to that LOL
