Ok as someone who has written a 'niche' ebook I need to rant here so I will stay out of Bethany's comment section (long one incoming):
"YoU'rE aLrEaDy PoStIng!!!!" I. am going. to lose it.
Her insinuation that your average person with 250 instagram followers and zero influencing experience can organically reach hundreds of thousands of people advertising a 'niche' ebook with no monetary investment is just fucking false. It's just not fucking true.
Girl Defined found their way into the mainstream internet by pissing people off, full stop. I'm convinced it's one of their main advertising techniques regardless of what they say their "message" is, they know controversial takes get them clicks and followers. They didn't get their following by politely advertising their content on their personal social media for their closest friends and family 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 they created a business account, invested (their parents) money, and click-baited the shit out of millions of people until they were able to reach about ~70k bigots/hate followers that were willing to keep up with them.
The amateur ebook market is beyond saturated, even in niche markets, because of grifters like Bethany who sell it to desperate people as some kind of passive income holy grail. It has a reputation for being dog shit in general for that reason. The likelihood that people are going to stumble on your individual ebook while researching and be willing to buy it from a stranger they know nothing about (especially if you have no provable credentials) is slim to none. So you're going to need to do research on your market; if there are millions of ebooks already out on your 'niche' topic, it's not going to be a good investment of your time or money. If you find a market that looks promising, then you'll have to advertise.
Advertising to your personal instagram following by doing what Bethany is suggesting (just posting like you normally do while mentioning your ebook sometimes) might get you a few pity buys sure, but it's obviously not a sustainable income source. So now you have to get militant: 1. harass your friends and family to share your ads (they'll love it i'm sure) 2. buy advertising (for a niche topic that doesn't appeal to everyone, you're not going to get away with the bare minimum of maybe $50 a week on instagram. keep in mind that the average ebook costs will make you around $2.99 a pop) 3. post constantly (see Bethany's frequency)
And even if you're spending money advertising, it means nothing if your content isn't engaging and well made, so if you're not used to making it you're going to need to put in some time researching successful ad tactics. And the tone needs to be consistent with the material you're selling, not everything can be sold with 5-second uncoordinated tiktok dances a la Bethany Beal. You also might even need to invest money in equipment to make said content (like Bethany has) which could be anything from a Canva subscription to a $30 tripod to a $1,000 digital camera. The insinuation that people can make the same content she does when she has a professional photography equipment and software is just a lie.
Say you've done all of that, say you're spending about $200/week on marketing, you're making decent content, you're getting decent traffic. If your topic is truly niche, that means you may have to reach hundreds or even thousands of people a day before you get to one that is interested in your topic. And even then, some of those people aren't going to want to buy an amazon ebook written by someone they've never heard of, so you're going to need to reach lots of those people. That's tens i not hundreds of thousands of people a day, to make maybe 10 sales a day (less than $30 a day). That doesn't even cover your advertising costs.
So either Bethany is ignorant as fuck from a lifetime of having her parents foot all her bills, or she is a really, really unethical business person on the same level or worse as MLM creators. The amount of work the average person would need to do to make ANY decent money from an ebook like this is not passive income!!!!!!!!! She's taking advantage of desperate women in a horrible economy to sell her half-assed 'course' material and it just makes me so fucking angry.
#sorry but i have a real trigger for fucking grifters this just makes me so gd mad#she doesnt believe or care whether people can do this and be successful#shes just greedy as fuck and knows she can take advantage of her following#bethany beal#girl defined#fundie instagram

Capturing the Colors of Bali: Tips for Photographers 👉 https://bysumex.com/capturing-the-colors-of-bali-tips-for-photographers/
Bali, known for its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and serene beaches, is a dream destination for photographers. To capture the best colors of this beautiful island, follow these tips:
1. Chase the Golden Hours
Where to Shoot: Mount Batur, Sanur Beach, Tanah Lot Temple
Tips: Shoot during sunrise and sunset for the best light. The soft, golden hues during these times make the landscapes look magical. Use a tripod to keep your shots steady and experiment with long exposures to capture the movement of clouds and water.
2. Immerse in Lush Greenery
Where to Shoot: Tegallalang Rice Terraces, Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
Tips: The rice terraces are best photographed in the early morning or late afternoon when the light enhances the lush green fields. Use a polarizing filter to reduce glare and make the greens more vibrant.
3. Explore Vibrant Markets
Where to Shoot: Ubud Market, Sukawati Art Market
Tips: Markets are alive with color, from fresh produce to traditional textiles. Visit in the morning for the best light and activity. Capture close-up shots to highlight the details and use a fast lens to deal with low light conditions inside the market.
4. Capture the Blues of the Ocean
Where to Shoot: Nusa Dua, Kuta Beach, Padang Padang Beach
Tips: For stunning beach shots, shoot during the early morning or late afternoon when the light is softer. A neutral density (ND) filter can help manage bright light and allow for long exposures to capture the motion of the waves.
5. Document Traditional Ceremonies
Where to Shoot: Uluwatu Temple, Besakih Temple
Tips: Balinese ceremonies are rich in color and culture. Always be respectful and ask for permission before photographing people. Use a telephoto lens to capture the intricate details from a distance, and be mindful of the lighting to avoid harsh shadows.
6. Discover Exotic Flora and Fauna
Where to Shoot: Bali Botanical Garden, Ubud Monkey Forest
Tips: Early morning light is ideal for photographing flowers and wildlife. Use a macro lens to capture the details of Bali’s unique flora and fauna. Patience is key when waiting for the perfect shot of wildlife.
Gear and Settings:
Lenses: Wide-angle for landscapes, telephoto for distant subjects, macro for close-ups.
Filters: Polarizing filter to enhance skies and foliage, ND filter for long exposures.
Camera Settings: Shoot in RAW for more flexibility in post-processing. Use a low ISO for better quality, and adjust the aperture to control depth of field.
Post-Processing Tips:
Enhance Vibrancy: Slightly increase the vibrance and saturation to make the colors pop.
Adjust White Balance: Correct the white balance to reflect the true colors of the scene.
Local Adjustments: Use local adjustments to highlight specific areas without over-saturating the entire image.
Bali offers endless opportunities for stunning photography. Whether you’re capturing the golden beaches, the vibrant markets, or the lush landscapes, these tips will help you make the most of your photographic journey. Share your Bali photos and tips below!

Capture the moment, share the magic | LONDON and TIPS 👀 👉 https://bysumex.com/capture-the-moment-share-the-magic-london-and-tips/
Hey London enthusiasts and photography lovers! 🇬🇧✨
There’s something truly magical about the bustling streets, iconic landmarks, and diverse culture of London. As a photographer, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to capture the city’s enchanting moments, freezing them in time to share the magic with you all.
🏰 Landmarks that Tell Stories: London is a treasure trove of iconic landmarks that narrate stories of history and modernity. From the majestic Tower Bridge to the timeless beauty of Big Ben, every angle tells a unique tale. As a photographer, I find myself drawn to these landmarks, seeking the perfect shot that encapsulates the spirit of the city.
🌆 City Lights and Twilight Delights: As the sun sets, London transforms into a captivating canvas of city lights and twilight hues. The juxtaposition of modern architecture and historic structures creates a mesmerizing spectacle. Whether it’s the glittering lights of the Shard or the subtle glow of Covent Garden, twilight in London is a photographer’s dream.
👫 Candid Moments of Londoners: One of the most rewarding aspects of photographing in London is capturing candid moments of its diverse and vibrant inhabitants. From the laughter of friends in a local pub to the hustle and bustle of a market, these snapshots showcase the true heartbeat of the city. Londoners, with their unique stories, add an authentic touch to every frame.
🌈 Hidden Gems Off the Beaten Path: Beyond the well-known attractions, London is filled with hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Quaint streets, charming cafes, and colorful markets provide endless opportunities for photographers to find beauty in the unexpected. Exploring these lesser-known corners allows for a fresh perspective on the city’s magic.
📱 Sharing the Magic: In the age of social media, sharing the magic of London has never been easier. Platforms like Instagram and Pinterest allow photographers to showcase their work and connect with a global audience. By sharing our perspectives, we contribute to a collective celebration of London’s beauty.
So, whether you’re a seasoned photographer or someone who simply appreciates the art form, join me in capturing the moment and sharing the magic of London. Let’s explore the city through the lens and revel in the beauty that surrounds us every day. 📷✨
Here are some tips for capturing the magic in London through your lens:
Golden Hour Glory:
Take advantage of the golden hour, the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset, when the lighting is soft and warm. This magical light enhances the beauty of London’s landmarks and streets, casting long shadows and adding a touch of romance to your shots.
Explore Beyond the Obvious:
While the iconic landmarks are a must, don’t hesitate to explore the lesser-known neighborhoods. Wander through areas like Shoreditch, Notting Hill, or Camden to discover hidden gems and capture the authentic, local vibe.
Mastering Night Photography:
London comes alive at night, with its illuminated streets and landmarks creating a stunning atmosphere. Use a tripod to steady your camera for longer exposures, capturing the vibrant city lights without sacrificing image quality.
Embrace the Rain:
London is known for its occasional rain, and it can add a unique charm to your photographs. Experiment with reflections on wet pavements and capture the city’s beauty glistening in the rain. A rain cover for your camera can be a handy accessory.
Street Photography Etiquette:
Respect people’s privacy when engaging in street photography. Candid shots can be incredibly powerful, but always be mindful of your subjects. If someone requests not to be photographed, respect their wishes.
Tell a Story with Composition:
Think about the story you want to convey in your photograph. Experiment with different compositions and framing techniques to create a narrative within each shot. Leading lines, symmetry, and framing can all contribute to a compelling story.
Local Events and Festivals:
Keep an eye on local events and festivals happening during your visit. These occasions provide unique opportunities to capture the vibrant energy and diverse culture of London. Parades, markets, and celebrations offer a plethora of interesting subjects.
Use Public Transportation:
London’s iconic red buses, black cabs, and the Underground can add a dynamic element to your photos. Incorporate these modes of transportation into your compositions to convey the city’s constant movement.
Experiment with Different Perspectives:
Change your perspective by shooting from different angles – try low-angle shots for a unique view of the skyline or capture the cityscape from a high vantage point. Experimenting with perspectives adds variety to your portfolio.
Engage with the Locals:
Strike up conversations with locals, listen to their stories, and let their experiences guide your photography. People often appreciate the interest, and you might uncover hidden gems or gain insights that will enrich your photographic journey.

Day 4: Beach Hopping in South Maui
This morning, we woke up exhausted and sore from the crazy, busy first two days of the trip. Because today was originally planned to be a chill, lazy day for recuperation, we took the morning slow and easy, waking up a little later and hanging around the hotel room. For breakfast, we just finished our dinner leftovers from yesterday evening instead of trying to gather up energy to go find a new place to eat.
After looking through our schedule and doing some planning, we realized that there was still so much to see and do and that so many of the things we wanted to see and do required us to make the most of whatever good weather we came across here on Maui. Because the forecast for today was mostly sunny, we decided that it would be a better idea to take advantage of the sunny weather and go out and do stuff rather than just sit around and waste away a good opportunity to explore.
We ultimately decided that the best thing to do was spend the entire day exploring the Kihei, Wailea, and Makena areas of South Maui. The drive to Kihei, our first stop, took a little less than an hour in normal traffic. Because it was around 1:00pm by the time we arrived in Kihei, we decided that grabbing lunch at Kihei Caffe would be the best first thing to do since it was nearing closing time for the restaurant. Because we had just finished our leftovers, Cynthia and I weren’t particularly hungry by the time we got there. So instead of ordering a lot of dishes like we normally do, we just ordered the restaurant’s well-reviewed Loco Moco, a native Hawaiian dish that consists of a burger patty topped with gravy served on rice with a fried egg on top, and a mixed fruit smoothie. The Loco Moco was just enough for us to share and it was pretty good. Nothing crazy amazing but it hit just right for our not-yet-hungry stomachs.
Because we had found a convenient parking spot next to the restaurant that we didn’t want to give up, we decided to leave our car there and walk along the beach and park located across the street from Kihei Caffe. We strolled through Kalama Park and along the beach area right behind it until we hit Cove Beach Park. Because there didn’t seem like there were too many other places to walk to in the heat, we turned around and returned to the car to drive further down to the Wailea area, located about ten minutes further south.
In Wailea, our first stop was at Pa’ako Beach, also known as Secret Cove Beach. The beach was located behind what looked like a typical, low-key neighborhood. After parking along the neighborhood streets, we walked through a gap in the stone wall and climbed down some rocks to get to the beach. Although it was nicknamed “Secret Cove Beach,” this beach was clearly no secret beach, as there were already a few parties lounging on the beach and enjoying the ocean views before we got there. But wow, the beach and cove were beautiful and so picturesque! A small stretch of sand lined the short coast. There were large volcanic rocks abutting the shoreline that crafted waterways for the oncoming waves and rushing water to sneak through. And on either end of the sandy beach were bunches of palm trees standing tall in the wind that together with everything else completed the stunningly picturesque scene and provided the icing on the beachy cake that made this little area look like the perfect example of tropical paradise.
For the first time this trip, we actually took it easy. We laid our beach towels down and just hung out there, calmly taking in the beautiful sights and sounds. Every now and then, I would get up and take some photos or soak my feet in the cool water. After a little less than an hour there, we started to notice patches of dark gray clouds sneaking into the previously clear blue skies. Once we felt a couple of raindrops on our skin, we decided to pack up and head back toward Wailea to avoid the possible incoming rain.
Before even beginning our trip back to Wailea, the skies quickly started to clear up again and the sun reappeared in the now blue sky. With this weather change, we changed our mind and decided to stop by the neighboring Makena Beach, also known as “Big Beach.” This beach was completely different from Secret Cove Beach because it was way bigger, the waves here were much crazier, and there were a lot more people there. Again, we laid down our beach towels and got comfortable in the sun. As Cynthia sunbathed, I watched the surfers and boogie boarders ride and flip over the waves. Because the waves at Makena Beach were pretty big at times, it made for the perfect place for people to catch the waves. And it was fun watching these people attempt crazy water stunts out there!
Once the sun was bearing down on us and it got a bit too warm, we returned to the car and drove to The Shops at Wailea, a fancy outdoor mall with lots of fancy stores and boutiques. Because sunset was right around the corner and Secret Cove Beach seemed like an excellent place for sunset photography, we decided to chillax at the shopping center until it was time to head back over. While Cynthia explored the clothing boutiques and shopped, I walked around the mall and window-shopped in some cool stores.
Eventually, we made it back to Secret Cove Beach with an hour to spare before sunset to stake our claim on a good spot to see the sunset. When we arrived this second time, there were a few more parties than before and the beach was definitely more crowded, filled with people waiting for the promising sunset. Because there was no good “one spot” I could find for all of the views I wanted to capture on camera, I left Cynthia and the beach towels in one area and set up my tripod in another area, hoping to provide myself with two options where I could best photograph the setting sun. I spent most of my time away from Cynthia once I realized that this “away” spot was the best spot I could find. And I stationed myself there and prepared for the sunset as time ticked down. Eventually, the orange sun started to descend in the sky, slowly making its way down toward the horizon past the scattering of clouds in the distance. The sight was beautiful. So warm, so peaceful. I tried my best to capture as many good shots of the sunset as possible but many of the shots were often interrupted with passersby and kids running in and out of the frame. Ugh. So annoying.
By the time the sun had completely disappeared, leaving a little glow in the sky, I was done with my photography for the evening, and it was time to pack up and head back north toward our resort. But before heading back, we made the good decision to grab dinner in the South Maui area instead of having to rush to find a dinner spot in West Maui before everything closed. After a quick search, we committed to Coconut’s Fish Cafe in Kihei, one of the restaurants that I had starred on my Google Maps prior to the trip.
Our restaurant of choice did not disappoint! After a brief wait in line to order, we ordered Coconut’s Fish Cafe’s coconut shrimp, clam chowder, and grilled mahi-mahi with Cajun seasoning served on brown rice with a side of salad. The whole meal was oh-so-delicious! SO YUMMY! And for such a good, affordable price! I can’t believe we had such delicious food in a restaurant that wasn’t even that fancy!
With stomachs happily filled with good food, we drove back to the Royal Lahaina for the evening. After quickly dropping off our stuff in our room, we went downstairs to check out the pool areas behind the resort before making our way to Kaheliki Beach, located in the resort’s backyard. For half an hour or so, Cynthia and I strolled along the beach under the moonlit night, taking a few moments to enjoy each other’s company while listening to the calm ocean sounds. At one point, we even took a seat in the soft, cool sand and lay back to enjoy the evening clouds cruising by overhead.
How nice it was just to sit and chill and take it all in. To be safe and socially distanced in Hawaii and to enjoy a little R&R during a pandemic. So very thankful for the opportunity. And so thankful for a nice, relaxing day in Maui. Until tomorrow!
5 Things I Learned/Observed Today:
1. The town of Kihei has a chill, quotidian, everyday-life-type vibe compared to the west side.
2. Wailea is the nice resort area of South Maui. Resorts. Golf courses. Nice shopping. Beautiful beaches. It has it all.
3. Makena Beach is a great place for adrenaline-rushing water activities! With the waves as big as they are, it’s no wonder that the beach is full of boogie boarders and surfers!
4. Hawaiian Language Lesson! “Mahalo” means “Thank you” in Hawaiian. And “Aloha” can be used for “Hello”, “Love”, and/or “Goodbye”.
5. ABC Stores are the 7/11 gift shops/markets/convenience stores of Hawaii. They not only sell your typical convenience store goods but also souvenirs, shirts, alcohol, beach gear, and much more!

5 Coolest Gadgets as your Mobile Accessories
This list includes items that can increase the applicability of mobile phones exponentially especially if you are a prosumer. Plus, it also includes the mobile accessories that are easily available in Kuwait in any mobile accessories shop or online platform.
Gamepad
The craziness for mobile games is at an all-time high thanks to some awesome games that got released into the market and this lockdown that freed the gamers of any constraints what so ever to play these games. Battle Royale games like Freefire and PubG have dominated the scene. The intrinsic quality of cut-throat competition (quite literally) in these games has left the gamers digging for new ways to secure an edge over their rivals. And having a gamepad can do the exact trick for you as it provides you with physical buttons and does not let you fumbling for screen-icons when your eyeballs are trailing the target.
The importance of this awesome gadget as your mobile accessory cannot be emphasized more for a gamer.
Selfie Flashlight
Just as the Gamepad is a boon for Gamers, this mobile accessory is the life-saver for selfie-lovers since most of the mobile phones lack in this feature. There are varieties of flashlights available in the market in various shapes and sizes from cubes for circular. These flashlights can also contribute to producing images and videos of decent qualities for OTT platforms like YouTube etc. Thus they can prove to be a great investment in the present economies.
Mobile Phone Camera Lens
This is one of my favorite mobile accessories that can take the applicability of mobile phones to a whole new level. I would not claim that it can completely replace professional cameras but it is certainly a great accessory for the amateur photographer and prosumers who love to take photos. This accessory can open a whole new world for mobile photographers with various types of clip-on lenses like a Macro lens for extremely close and small objects, fisheye lens, or Wide-angle lens for bigger objects and wide scenes to capture views that were never seen before. I highly recommend this mobile accessory to anyone having any degree of love towards photography.
Virtual Reality Headset
Another coolest accessory, on our list, to have is the Virtual Reality headset. This is simply an awesome accessory that can teleport you to a boundless virtual world. They take your experience of gaming and watching videos to a whole new level. Plus several VR app are available to take your breath away.
Their best application is found in gaming which has been made more interactive and exhilarating as you can afford to just sit and have minimal movement with your thumbs. Here, your whole body takes part in increasing your activity level and thereby increasing your fitness level.
Tripod
Another cool gadget to have is a tripod that allows you to take images and shoot videos with stability. They are very useful in making time-lapse videos wherein you need to capture a long duration event into short video.
You can control the tripod with the help of a controller from a distance. Some tripods can even be extended to become a selfie stick so depending upon your preference you can go for it. They are a great companion for making videos for social media or video sharing platforms.

Personal Project Plan Change PT 2.
As I stated in my last post that I would need to change my personal project topic due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19.
Aim:
My aim for this project is to show how the Coronavirus has effected my local community and surrounding area. I want to show what has happened around me and record these events in history, which hopefully will never happen again. I would like to make my series of 10 images has a documentary type of feel to them, as if they would be used by news programs or news papers.
Target Market:
The target market for my proposed images would most likely be the media such as magazines and newspapers etc as they would show current events displaying the crisis.
Another market I think my images would work well in is a gallery/museum. This would be a good market as there could be a section dedicated to the corona crisis with images of local communities and the effects to that area.
Techniques:
Some techniques I would be using is and extended depth of field e.g. f8> This would be used to show perspective and distance In my images.
Another technique I would like to use is to have the use of a telephoto lens to flatten perspective. I think this would look good with the images I plan on taking, e.g. I want to shoot down a road where all the shops and business either side are shut and I think this lens would be a good use for this purpose.
As for then 10 final images I was thinking of 5 during the day, and 5 at night to show how the virus effects all aspects of life even at night. This is not too far off of my original idea for night photography in the city.
I would also like to take some portraits of people wearing masks during the pandemic as I think it would be good for my project to show how people are coping with the situation.
I have some concerns, one being I am finding it difficult to focus and come up with interesting ideas during this time and I am worried it will have a negative effect on mu final project.
Aesthetic:
For the 10 final images I would like to have a shared commonality with all of them, as some may show different areas of the crisis. To do this I would like to have a desaturated edit to the images to convey the emptiness in the towns and citys around the UK right now. However, I may also like to have black and white images as they may look more impactful this way. So I would like to experiment with both effects and find out which edit fits my series of images best.
Equipment:
Camera x 1
Spare Battery x 1
50mm Lens x 1
18 - 55mm Lens x 1
Tripod x 1
SD card x 1
Flash Gun x 1
Reflector x1

https://www.bjp-online.com/tag/pandemic/
Above shows an image of a doctor at the front line of the pandemic in Italy, one of Europe’s hardest hit countries of the corona virus. The photographer Alberto Giuliani has captured this doctor after a long, tiring shift were he is finally able to take of his mask which reveals imprints. This doctors facial expression and mood convey the stress and pressure they are under during this time, even though this image doesn't show much on the surface, there is a lot of meaning behind it. I love the simplicity of the image and is something I would like to try with my own project.

This image was taken in Milan Italy by Getty images. It shows people walking in the street with face masks which has become the new normal. I like this image as it shows that eve amongst the crisis, people maintain their normal lives, commenting to work, buying food etc. In this image these people seem un concerned of the invisible danger that surrounds them as they feel protected by the face masks. This is something I would like to capture for my own personal project as I think it is a very powerful image and an important one that shows what happened during the pandemic.

Above shows a couple still trying to be intimate during the epidemic by wearing masks. I like this image as it shows that during this time of social isolation and feeling alone, this image shows that we are all going through it together. This is some of the photography I would like to capture for my personal project as it shows the will of human nature not to give up.
https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/photos/shop-shutter-closed?mediatype=photography&phrase=shop%20shutter%20closed&sort=best
This image shows the economical impact of the coronavirus and something I would like to show in my own project. I like the long focal length shot of the shutters being closed for the whole frame, showing the social impact of peoples small businesses. I also like that the person in the frame is wearing a mask again linking back to the current crisis. I also like the colours in this image as they seem desaturated to an extent, conveying the empty feeling at the current moment. This is something I would potentially like to do for my project as I find it quite visually interesting.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11188481/london-empty-streets-coronavirus-measures/
I like this image as it shows the empty streets due to the pandemic, which otherwise would be busy with people, cars, bikes etc. This image was taken in London at night were this street should be bustling with people and yet it is deserted. I like this image as it shows the extent that the coronavirus has effected the public.
These are they type of images I would like to shoot for my personal project as I am intrigued by the whole crisis and I think it is especially important to document it as it has never happened before and hopefully never happen again.

I’ve spent big money on camera equipment over the years and looking back, it was not money well spent! However, all the money I invested on books, videos or workshops is priceless. It’s the gift that keeps giving. You can always apply these techniques in your photography career. Any camera you buy today will be redundant or outdated every 5 years. Any photography book you buy will probably be relevant 5–10 years from now. If anything, many of your photography books will increase in value.
The mistake I made in photography is that I thought my photos weren’t good enough because I didn’t have that high price piece of equipment. I thought if I had the hottest camera on the market, this new lens, tripod, or whatever, I would suddenly become Gordon Parks with my photography. Boy, was I wrong!
The only lasting effect to improve in photography is to invest in photography books — especially books from the masters of photography.
A master photographer will probably spend his/her entire working life (30–50 years) to create a body of work. And that photographer will invest thousands of dollars to produce this book, market the book, and share it with others. A photography book is a well-curated, well-considered, and well-edited collection of images. Great photography is timeless. It is never outdated. Regardless where technology goes. In today’s social media society, we are drowning in cat photos and selfies. Real photography is a lost art. The more time we spend on social media, the more we are being fed “visual junk food.”
If you look at great photography (especially in the form of photography books), you will be inspired to take great images. You learn what makes a great photograph, what great composition is, and how to make a body of work that lasts through the years and decades.
Let me make myself clear. To take your photography to the next level, you WILL need to invest in the proper gear. Mainly cameras, lenses and equipment that will accommodate the field of photography you choose (Portrait, Event, Real Estate, etc.), but it should not be your first choice for financial investment.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have moments where I doubt myself, I am still learning and growing as a photographer. And at times feel that if I had this new camera system I can become that great photographer. I would have more options. I have come to learn that the photographer makes the camera and not the other way around. I have seen some amazing photos taken with a iPhone and would not believe it if I wasn’t told otherwise!
So let’s spend that hard earned money on knowledge instead and be inspired to take greater photos.
