気が��けばもう４月、すっかり桜も散りかかってますね。随分経ちましたけど、やっと昨年末に買ったCDの紹介をしたいかなと思います。

Alpha Zulu Phoenix

ということで、2週間前にライブの記事の予告通り昨年末にリリースされたPhoenixの7枚目のアルバムの紹介になります。 とはいえ、Phoenixなんて人気のあるバンドなんで今さら何か言うこともないんですが、前作が2017年にリリースされてたんでもう5年振りのアルバムだったんですね。

で、バンドも2000年がデビューらしいんでもう20年超のベテランバンドになってました。うううん、時間が止まっていたかのような、早いなぁ。そういえば同じ頃活躍していたフランスのDaftPunkやAirはもう活動してないので、PhoenixとTahiti80には頑張って活動して欲しいものです。

アルバムの中身ですが、これまで出ているアルバムから何かビックリするような変化は無いんですが、よりリズムが強調されて洗練された気がします。少し重たい感じの曲とか、よりPopな曲とか内容も充実で、いつもながら完成度が高いなぁと感心してしまいます。

PVもエスプリが効い��いるというんでしょうか、ライブの時のビジュアル同様これまた凝ってるんですよね。なにせVo.の奥様は映画監督ソフィア・コッポラですから、そりゃあね、って感じなんですかね。(このPVとは関係ないんだと思いますが。。。）

こんな感じで2週間に１回のペースで載せてます。次回は4/22or23頃にUPする予定です。

The first time I heard this hypnotic track I was annoyed by its restraint. It builds up and then remains in building up mode throughout. But that soon changed. It's now been months and this song remains stuck in my head. Phoenix is #4 on the #Bestof2022 #Top100 Music Countdown with "Winter Solstice." 

 "Alpha Zulu" was yet another excellent release from the French band whose experiments with their sounds haven't yet led to disappointing results. You already heard the instant banger "All Eyes on Me" earlier on the countdown but add these to the songs you definitely need to hear: "Alpha Zulu," 

"Tonight" feat. Ezra Koenig,

"After Midnight" (not a cover of the Eric Clapton song

and the beautiful "Season 2."

Nightcord: Everything is Everything literally do i need to explain this one. it's in the title of the song. pretty much any song off alphabetical could work for nightcord it is the nightcord album.
