comparing some phasmophobia and lethal company maps

1. tanglewood / experimentation - the OG, the constant, the ol' reliable. new players start their first contracts here. veterans start their player sessions here to warm up. arguably the easiest map in the game, but very consistent in its experience.

2. willow street / assurance - the second ol' reliable. slightly more difficult than number 1., some (me) would argue slightly more fun as well. there is theoretical potential for bullshit here, but compared to most other maps, it's rare.

3. ridgeview / vow - while this map is still one of the easiest maps in the game, it is noticeably more difficult than the first two. successfully playing it requires more technical knowledge and experience in the game (looping around a table / shitty fire exit placement), but in most cases, veterans will not struggle here.

4. camp woodwind / offense - The Bullshit™ officially starts here. at first glace, you wouldn't think this map would be as annoying as it is, but ooh are the looks deceiving. an extra layer of difficulty is this map missing some key QoL features present in the first 3 maps. (good looping spots / accessible fire exit)

5. edgefield / march - this map has some annoying quirks that make it stand out from the rest of similar maps (zero good looping spots / enormous facility size), but it's also a very nice map, if only for the fact that it's the last map before you really need to start sweating.

6. prison / adamance - the game leads you to believe this is a medium difficulty map. do not believe its lies. it is not. it is a spawn of the devil. there is only one rule here - whatever can go wrong, WILL go wrong. the ghost WILL spawn in a prison cell block. the valley WILL be full of baboon hawks by 1pm. go fuck yourself.

7. high school / rend - the game noticeably ramps up in difficulty here, but it somehow feels more fair. after you learn how to play in this environment though, the game really starts feeling rewarding. this map offers some consistent sources for skillful play - fortune favours the bold.

8. sunny meadows / artifice - potentially the hardest map in the game, but the most profitable and the most rewarding one, too. its unique design allows for interesting strategies and counterplays. successfully completing a mission here feels like peak perfomance in the respective game.
