Copy Right and Public Domain in 2024
Happy 2024 all! its also Public Domain Day! a magical holiday here in America where things enter the public domain. Works published in the year 1928 (or 95 years ago!) have entered the public domain, which means they belong to us, all of us, the public!
Mickey's Back!
Yes! I'm sure you've heard, but Mickey Mouse (and Minnie Mouse too) is entering the Public Domain today. This has been news for a few years and indeed Disney's lobbying in the late 1990s is why our copy right term is SO long. So what exactly is now public domain?

Most people know about Mickey's first appearance Steamboat Willie, but a second short film, Plane Crazy was also released in 1928 so will also be public domain. So what's public? well these two films first of all, you're allowed to play them, upload them to YouTube or whatever without paying Disney. In theory you'll be allowed to cut and sample them, have them playing in the background of your movie etc. Likewise in theory the image of Mickey and Minnie as they appear (thats important) in these films will be free to use as well as Mickey's character as he appears in these works will be free to use. Now Mickey's later and more famous appearance

will still be protected. Famously the Conan Doyle Estate claimed that Sherlock Holmes couldn't be nice, smile, or not hate women in works because they still held the copyright on the short stories where he first did those things even though 90% of Sherlock Holmes stories were public domain. It's very likely Disney will assert similar claims over Mickey, claiming much of his personality first appeared in works still copyrighted.
Finally there's copyright vs trademark. Copyright is total ownership of a piece of media and all the ideas that appear in it, copyright has a limited set term and expires. Trademark is more limited and only applies to things used to market and sell a product. You can have a Coke branded vending machine in your movie if you want, but it couldn't appear anywhere in the trailer for your movie as thats you marketing your movie.
Where trademark ends and copyright begins and how trademarked something in the public domain is allowed to be are all unsettled areas of law and clearly Disney in the last few years as been aggressively pushing its trademark not just to Mickey in general but Steamboat Willie Mickey in particular
Ultimately the legal rights and wrongs of this might not matter so much since few people have the money and legal resources of the Walt Disney corporation so they might manage to maintain a de facto copyright on Mickey through legal intimidation, but maybe not?
And Tigger Too!
All the talk about Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie has sadly overshadowed other MAJOR things entering the public domain today. Most people are aware Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, but they might not realize his beloved friend Tigger didn't. Thats because Tigger didn't appear till A. A. Milne's second (and last) book of Pooh short stories, The House at Pooh Corner in 1928.
Much like Mickey Mouse only what appears in The House at Pooh Corner is public domain so the orange bouncy boy from the 1960s Disney cartoon is still on lock down. But the A. A. Milne original as illustrated by E. H. Shepard is free for you to use in fiction or art. His friend Winnie the Pooh has made a number of appearances since being freed, most notably in a horror movie, but also a Mint Mobile commercial so maybe Tigger too will have a lot of luck in the public domain.
Other works:
Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up
Peter Pan is a strange case, even though the play was first mounted in 1904, and the novelization (Peter and Wendy) was published in 1911, The script for the play was not published till 1928 (confusing!) meaning while the novel as been public domain for years the play (which came first) hasn't been, but now it is and people are welcome to mount productions of it.
Millions of Cats
The oldest picture book still in print, did you own a copy growing up? (I did)
Lady Chatterley's Lover
The iconic porn novel that was at the center of a number of groundbreaking obscenity cases in the 1960s and helped establish your right to free speech.
All Quiet on the Western Front and The Threepenny Opera in their original German (but you can translate them if you want), The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie, and Orlando by Virginia Woolf will also be joining us in the public domain along with any and all plays, novels, and books published in 1928
for Films we have The Man Who Laughs who's iconic image inspired the Joker

Charlie Chaplin's The Circus, Buster Keaton's The Cameraman, Should Married Men Go Home? the first Laurel and Hardy movie, Lights of New York the first "all talking" movie, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Wind, as well as The Last Command and Street Angel the first films to win Oscars for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively will all be entering public domain
For Musical Compositions (more on that in a moment) we've got
Mack the Knife by Bertolt Brecht, Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love) by Cole Porter, Sonny Boy by George Gard DeSylva, Lew Brown & Ray Henderson, Empty Bed Blues by J. C. Johnson, and Makin’ Whoopee! by Gus Khan are some of the notables but any piece of music published in 1928 is covered
Any art work published in 1928, which might include works by Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alexej von Jawlensky, Edward Hopper, and André Kertész will enter the public domain, we are sure those that M. C. Escher's Tower of Babel will be in the public domain

Swan Song, Public Domain and recorded music
While most things are covered by the Copyright Act of 1976 as amended by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, none of the copyright acts covered recordings you see when American copyright law was first written recordings did not exist and so through its many amendings no one fixed this problem, movies were treated like plays and artwork, but recorded sound wasn't covered by any federal law. So all sound recordings from before 1972 were governed by a confusing mess of state level laws making it basically impossible to say what was public and what was under copyright. In 2017 Congress managed to do something right and passed the Music Modernization Act. Under the act all recordings from 1922 and before would enter the public domain in 2022. After taking a break for 2023, all sound recordings made in 1923 have entered the public domain today on January 1st 2024, these include.
Charleston by James P. Johnson
Yes! We Have No Bananas (recorded by a lot artists that year)
Who’s Sorry Now by Lewis James
Down Hearted Blues by Bessie Smith
Lawdy, Lawdy Blues by Ida Cox
Southern Blues and Moonshine Blues by Ma Rainey
That American Boy of Mine and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers by Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra
Dipper Mouth Blues and Froggie More by King Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band, featuring Louis Armstrong
Bambalina by Ray Miller Orchestra
Swingin’ Down the Lane by Isham Jones Orchestra
Enjoy your public domain works!

Could we get something with Yandere ouat Peter? Preferably gender-neutral or nb reader.
An idea I had is maybe Hook has a kid, so the character would have grown up in Neverland. I think maybe a platonic Yandere Peter would be v interesting, where he maybe tries to interact with reader as a ‘cool older brother’ sort of figure, despite the fact that reader very much knows exactly who he is and that he’s dangerous. Romantic would be fine too though!
Thank you so much for the request! I apologize it took so long and I have not written in a while so I hope it's okay!
I loved this idea so I had to see how it'll play out. I did the platonic version and although I did use Y/N and made them gender-neutral, I wrote they were 17 for the story's sake. I often have Peter refer to them as a child because in his mind he feels the need to take care of and protect them.
I am considering a part two if people like this idea enough, maybe taking place when the Storybrooke residents arrive.
Warning: Yandere Behavior

-----------------
The Love Of A Brother
-----------------
The day Killian Jones, otherwise known by his more colorful moniker Hook, came to Neverland was a day he would never forget.
He had many men aboard, each desiring to never grow old until they wished. They all had been warned about the dangers that lurk within the water and upon the soil of Neverland but the idea of dying from old age was a more terrifying feat to them.
However, one person had little choice in the matter, as they were still somewhat forced to come to Neverland.
Captain Hook's kid, Y/N.
After the day Mila died it was up to him to become a single parent. Overall he was rather good at it. Always telling stories so that they would be able to sleep at night or sitting by their bedside when they had gotten a cold. But, no matter how much love they held for each other, Killian could not stop going after the man who killed his wife and the mother of his child.
Y/N was 17 the day they had arrived in Neverland and would remain so until the day they left.
This was not a decision Hook made lightly. Bringing the person he cared for more than anyone into the hellish landscape wasn't something he'd wish on his worst enemy (other than Rumpelstiltskin) but the idea of leaving them with no idea when he would return hurt even more.
So he created the rules.
Do not leave the boat without permission.
Do not ever interact with Peter Pan or his shadow.
Avoid the Lost Boys.
"Who is Peter Pan?" They asked their father as the Jolly Roger settled after coming through the portal to Neverland.
"A bloody demon." He responded looking at the dark island as it neared.
Hook began telling the stories that he knew. Even sharing how he had met Peter Pan in the first place. Albeit leaving out what happened to his brother as he blamed himself as well as Pan for the tragedy.
Pan knew he was arriving on the island. Hook riskily contacted him through his shadow to come to a truce before being allowed to arrive on the island.
But there was a little thing Hook had forgotten to mention.
His child.
He had hoped that if none of the inhabitants of the island knew their relation, with Peter assuming they were deckhands or something, they wouldn't be targeted if Peter got bored or wanted to play a game.
But the resemblance was noticeable from the first meeting.
-----------------
As the boat docked onto shore to make an initial supply run, Hook kept Y/N close. Half of the crew, including the two of them, walked carefully through the jungle, avoiding every thorn they came across.
But the real danger was just up ahead. After all, Peter Pan wouldn't be a polite host if he didn't welcome his guests.
The second the pirates entered a clearing they were surrounded by the sound of rustles as the leaves moved around the edge of the clearing and a figure appeared about 20 feet ahead on the other end.
Hook froze, he knew he should have expected him to show himself this early, but a part of him had hoped he wouldn't, not yet at least.
Y/N held onto their bow and arrows tightly as they observed the boy up ahead who looked just a little older than them. Judging by the way he held the spotlight, they had to assume this was Peter Pan.
"Look what we have here, I didn't expect to see you on the island this quickly. I mean after what had happened last time you were here, the idea of returning so willingly was unexpected, Captain." Peter spoke as he neared the group, the Lost Boys forming a circle around them to prevent anyone from running.
Peter inspected the group as they each held some form of weapon. Be it a dagger, sword, or even one with a bow and arrow.
He neared the one with the bow and arrow, the idea of figuring out what else made them so different lingered in his mind. Peter stood closely in front of them, studying their appearance and the subtle yet noticeable looks towards the direction of Hook.
This is when something had clicked.
His brain was no longer assessing the group as a whole or messing with the Captain. His thoughts were reserved for only them. The way they were trying to hide their shaking hands and the way they held onto the bow tighter the closer he got. The shine of their eyes as they looked at him almost like a frightened deer.
He could recognize a scared child anywhere and this time he didn't want it to be his fault. It was like an instinct of protection filled his black heart. Their fearful yet innocent gaze was embedded into his soul. Someone like this simply couldn't live with harsh pirates.
He reached a hand out towards them but Hook stepped in the way. His gaze was harsh yet Peter could easily detect the fear hidden in them. For himself or the child, he wasn't sure.
Peter smirked at Captain Hook as he realized why they had looked so familiar now seeing the similarities in their features and hair color. He had been to distracted by the odd feeling of protection and familiarity to even acknowledge the finding.
"You have a child? My you got busy after leaving last time." He teased as he glanced around the man to see them standing there, their gaze locked onto the ground.
"Stay away from them or so help me you will have wished-" Hook began to say before Peter cut him off.
"You'll do what? Let me remind you, you're here because I allow it. You eat the island's food only because I allow it. You only live because I have use for you yet." He threatened motioning his hand for the Lost Boys to run away.
Y/N took a sigh of relief as the group dispersed but their worry would still remain until Peter was out of their sight. The ideas of the horrors they were told, all of which could happen to them just by being in his presence, filled their anxious mind.
Peter stared at Hook seriously before sending a look and a playful wink toward Y/N, hoping to make them less afraid.
"I'll see you soon." He commented staring directly into their eyes before disappearing.
—————————
Apparently soon meant a few days.
It first began when Y/N was laying on deck, watching the stars when someone appeared next to them and laid down on the spare part of the blanket.
“The stars are beautiful aren’t they?” He spoke as if lying on the ground next to them wasn’t an unusual occurrence.
Y/N was silent, trying to hide the fact they were afraid. The unknowing was terrible, the idea that their father was fast asleep, probably passed out from exhaustion at that, was nerve-wracking as they could not call for help.
“You don’t need to be afraid of me.” Pan said genuinely, staring at the side of their face as he admired their courage to hide their fear.
“Why wouldn’t I be? You have a reputation you know. I’m sure you could get rid of me in a heartbeat.” Y/N was nervous now, it audibly showed through the small stutter that sounded in their sentence.
“That doesn’t mean I want to… Do you know why I’ve brought all these boys to the island?”
“Because they’re lost?”
“Because no one deserves to feel alone.”
Peter Pan believed that because Y/N was an only child who spent their whole life traveling the seas, that they had to be lonely. They are constantly moving and never staying in one place, let alone with people their age.
Then their father, he’s a pirate with a drinking problem who is so obsessed with revenge that even though he is protective and loves his child, Peter couldn’t tell you which the man valued more.
Revenge or love?
If Peter were to take her right now, he could be their older brother. Someone who takes care of their little sibling in the face of everything like heartbreak, anxiety, everything that would make them feel anything other than happiness.
Y/N would be his sibling. He’d be their only brother.
Being an older brother to Y/N sounded perfect to him.
—————————
Their next encounter was when they had been sitting on the edge of the beach as the Jolly Roger was anchored nearby.
Y/N's father had allowed them to hang out along the shore alone.
The captain and crewmates were planning on staying on the edge of the jungle that was Neverland. He had figured they would be okay for a couple hours and that he could hear if they needed anything.
He knew the dangers that posed leaving them there alone but he thought they would be cornered again the second they entered the tree line so there really wasn’t anywhere ‘safe’ at the moment.
That’s how he rationalized it at least.
But when Peter saw them sitting alone on the shore, the mermaids moving closer by the second, he saw Hook as irresponsible and unfit to care for Y/N.
He quickly approached them, the sight of him causing the mermaids to swim away quickly, realizing that was not someone they wanted to lure in.
“Y/N.” Peter said as he approached, sitting in the sand next to them.
“What are you doing?” They spoke questioningly “I thought you would be bothering my father and his crew.”
“Is that what he counted on. Me leaving you alone as they frolicked or whatever they are doing in the jungle? Is that why he left you here defenseless?” He replied getting more confident that Killian wasn’t fit to take care of Y/N.
“I don’t like what you’re accusing him of.” Y/N replied, glaring at Pan in front of them but if anything it was adorable.
He raised his hands jokingly as if he actually felt threatened by them.
“I’m just saying, he knows the dangers of this island. If it’s not me, it’s the lost boys, then the Dreamshade, and as you almost realized, the mermaids.” Peter counted off making Y/N realize what the subtle splashing noise they heard was. “He shouldn’t have left you alone.”
“I’m 17. I can take care of myself for a few hours.” They argued, much like if they were telling their older sibling they didn’t need to be babysat.
“Sure you can. But you don’t need to when I’m here.”
———————-
From then on he would appear randomly whenever he knew Y/N was alone.
When they weren’t, he was silently protecting them from the shadows.
If we’re sketching in their room? He’d sit next to them silently, allowing them to focus. Meanwhile he was busy admiring their skills even if it was a simple picture of the sky.
They volunteered to go look for some more supplies on the island?
They mysteriously got separated from the group for a few hours.
He took them saying ‘I can take care of myself for a few hours’ rather literally. In those few hours, they got an entire tour of the main points of the island.
Even the camp.
Peter had them sit on his designated chair, introducing Y/N as their little sibling. Each of the boys came up to them and introducing themselves enthusiastically as the proposed all the fun games they could play if they were to stay.
Even when Y/N emphasized greatly that they couldn’t.
Each and every time.
When their birthday came around Peter gifted them a necklace, his initials were on the inside, to protect them from anyone who finds their way to the island.
Although he made sure to use his magic to conceal the necklace from the eyes of Hook.
Not that he cared about what the man thought, after all nothing would keep him from his little sibling.
Nothing.
-----------
The day Peter had been preparing for came sooner than expected.
Hook had discovered a way to kill the dark one and his need for the island was gone. Meaning it was time to return back to the enchanted forest.
The crew had begun preparing to return back to the forest. Packing up their supplies and strapping down anything they had on deck to prepare for traveling through the portal.
Y/N was packing up anything loose in their room. They had mostly finished other than having to pack the rest of their art supplies.
“So you were just going to leave and not tell your older brother? I'm offended” Peter spoke appearing in their room and sitting on their bed.
In their deal, he had allowed Hook to leave once he had found a way to accomplish his goal.
That was before he had met Y/N.
“I was never going to say in Neverland. I was always going to leave. I don’t know what you were expecting.” Y/N spoke harshly trying to push him away.
They had to admit, after all this time spent with Peter, that it was hard to view him as some irredeemable demon. He comforted them when they had nightmares of their mother’s death, protected them from the mermaids, did their favorite activities with them (even if he was not really invited), and seemed to love them.
Peter knew they were just trying to protect themself from the pain of leaving so they lashed out. He could tell they were saddened at the thought of leaving him. This made him feel warm inside.
Y/N assumed they’d be fine once leaving Neverland, they would have to forget about Peter Pan and their life would go back to normal, well as normal as it gets.
Suddenly they heard approaching footsteps.
“Y/N? Are you ready to go? We are about to enter the portal now.” Killian called through the closed door, his eagerness to leave the island covering the fact that there was a muffled sound as he spoke. Hook was ecstatic, his time for revenge had come. His head was in the clouds as he ran over his plan over and over again. Causing him to not even think to just poke his head in to check on his child, just of the idea that the portal was closing any minute
The muffled noise was Peter whispering that he would not let Hook leave if they said anything other than that they were ready.
Y/N knew if they weren’t allowed to leave, their father would be devastated.
“Yes father, I’m ready!” They called back and the two listened as the man’s footsteps grew farther and farther away.
“You can’t leave Y/N. You’re my little sibling, I have to take care of you.” He spoke manipulatively the second Hook was out of distance.
“I have to. If it’s up to me, I’ll never leave my father. He raised me, he loves me! He will take care of me better than you ever can.” Y/N retorted, frustrated at the situation. Why wouldn't Peter just go away? They knew they cared for him, even just a little bit. But their father was very important to them. Even if he had been a little distracted while searching for revenge, they didn't feel his love any less.
A loving father or a over protective, self-proclaimed brother.
They knew which had meant more. They had made their choice, one they couldn't vocalize as Peter softly blew poppy dust into their face, causing them to pass out instantly.
“Then it isn’t up to you.” as he spoke “This is for your own good. I love you Y/N and I know you love me. You are better off at my side.”
He picked them up bridal style as he and Y/N disappeared off the boat and reappeared in the camp. All of their stuff appears on the ground off to the side of them.
"Welcome to your new home, Y/N"
-------------
Hook had gone to Y/N’s cabin to check on them, the portal closing behind him as they could see the Enchanted Forest off in the distance.
He was eager to see his child, wanting to celebrate the idea of finally being able to avenge his wife and their mother. Hook knocked and didn’t hear an answer assuming they had been disoriented or hurt by the portal, he opened the door quickly.
But, he was met with an empty room and no Y/N.
He looked around for any signs frantically before he spotted a letter on the bed.
Hook,
You were always too focused on the idea of revenge that you neglected what was in front of you. You never deserved Y/N and you never will. Each time you left them alone, I was there. I comforted them, I protected them, and I loved them. Each thing is something you couldn't do while you searched for something you did not even know existed. Y/N will be better off without you.
I always wondered if you'd choose revenge over love.
I guess I have my answer.
Their brother,
Peter Pan

Taylor using Peter Pan and the story of the boy who wouldn't grow up as a whole motif in her writing for a bit was truly excellent. The actual story of Peter and Wendy is sad especially because I think it is mostly an allegory for lost youth.
it’s so good! and it’s the perfect metaphor because the themes of peter and wendy’s story—waiting forever, growing up (or refusing to), promises that aren’t kept—are all at the heart of ttpd. and even beyond that, i just love the way she talks about youth across ttpd/some of midnights. it’s something that you lose, something you can keep, something that gets taken, something you give, etc.

On December 27th 1904 J M Barrie's play "Peter Pan" premiered at the Duke of York Theatre, London.
J.M. Barrie created his character based on his older brother, David, who died in an ice-skating accident the day before his 14th birthday. His mother and brother thought of him as forever a boy. The "boy who wouldn't grow up"
The story of free-spirited and mischievous young boy who can fly and never grows up, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood having adventures on the mythical island of Neverland as the leader of the Lost Boys, interacting with fairies, pirates, mermaids, Native Americans, and occasionally ordinary children from the world outside Neverland.
Peter Pan has become a cultural icon symbolizing youthful innocence and escapism. In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has been featured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting and expanding on Barrie's works. These include a 1953 animated film, a 2003 dramatic/live-action film, a television series and many other works.
J. M. Barrie first used Peter Pan 2 years before, as a character in a section of The Little White Bird, an adult novel where he appears as a seven-day-old baby in the chapter entitled Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. Following the success of the 1904 play, Barrie's publishers, Hodder and Stoughton, extracted chapters 13–18 of The Little White Bird and republished them in 1906 under the title Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, with the addition of illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
Barrie never described Peter's appearance in detail, even in his novel, leaving it to the imagination of the reader and the interpretation of anyone adapting the character. In the play, Peter's outfit is made of autumn leaves and cobwebs. His name and playing the flute or pipes suggest the mythological character Pan. Barrie mentions in Peter and Wendy that Peter Pan still had all his "first teeth".He describes him as a beautiful boy with a beautiful smile, "clad in skeleton leaves and the juices that flow from trees"
Traditionally, the character has been played on stage by a petite adult woman. In the original productions in the UK, Peter Pan's costume was a reddish tunic and dark green tights, such as that worn by Nina Boucicault in 1904. This costume is exhibited in Barrie's Birthplace museum at Kirriemuir.
In the Disney films, Peter wears an outfit that consists of a short-sleeved green tunic and tights apparently made of cloth, and a cap with a red feather in it. He has pointed elf-like ears, brown eyes and his hair is red. In Hook , the character is played as an adult by Robin Williams, with blue eyes and dark brown hair; in flashbacks to him in his youth, his hair is light brown. In this film his ears appear pointed only when he is Peter Pan, not as Peter Banning. His Pan attire resembles the Disney outfit (minus the cap). In the live-action 2003 Peter Pan film, he is portrayed by Jeremy Sumpter, who has blond hair and blue-green eyes. His outfit is made of leaves and vines.
Barrie commissioned a statue of Peter Pan by sculptor George Frampton which was erected overnight in Kensington Gardens on 30 April 1912 as a May Day surprise to the children of London. Seven statues have been cast from the original mould, they are in, Egmont Park, Brussels, Belgium, Bowring Park, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Bowring Park, Johnson Park, Camden, New Jersey, USA, Queens Gardens, Perth, Western Australia, Sefton Park, Liverpool, and Glenn Gould Park, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Various other statues have appeared around the world, including three in Scotland, the first is at Mearnskirk Hospital for children in Glasgow, the first superintendent of the hospital, Dr John A Wilson, was a school friend of Barrie, the other one in Scotland is of course in Kirriemuir, one in the main town square and the other in the Peter Pan Garden by Barrie's Birthplace, now owned by the National Trust of Scotland.
The most famous of the other statues is at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, who JM Barrie gifted the rights to the play in 1929, the copyright first expired in the UK (and the rest of Europe) in 1987, 50 years after Barrie’s death, but the government of the day made an amendment to the copyright act giving Great Ormond Street Hospital the unique right to royalties from stage performances of Peter Pan (and any adaptation of the play) as well as from publications, audio books, ebooks, radio broadcasts and films of the story of Peter Pan, in perpetuity.

Wish is just a normal Disney film just like all the rest.
Wish is actually a damn good movie, there I said it!
I'm going to start by saying this much, it's very odd to me that so many people are now screaming for a love story from Disney, when not even five or ten years ago there was shouting from the roof tops about Disney doing TOO MUCH romance. For the longest time it was "I wish Disney wouldn't do pairings" "Ugh another romance, can't the princess not." Etc. Now everyone wants one, even though Romance isn't really as big a Disney trope as people think.
Actually let's go through the animated catalogue and see how frequently the love story is centered as the main conflict and asperation to the character. In this case it's the key thing, not a 'Oh they happen to like each other in the end' situation, it's THE thing, the point of the movie is their romance. Then let's see how many have it as the secondary aspect, and let's see how many have it as not important at all. (And we're talking romantic love, not family love)
Romance (Total number: 15)
Snow White, Lady and the Tramp, The Aristocats, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Secondary Characters hook up so this is a weird one), Doug's First Movie, Tarzan, Lizzie McGuire the Movie, Enchanted, The Princess and the Frog (Only from Naveen's POV), Tangled (could be seen as secondary too)
Secondary (Total Number: 25)
Fantasia, Bambi, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free , Melody Time, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Cinderella Sleeping Beauty
One Hundred and One Dalmatians , Robin Hood, The Rescuers , The Fox and the Hound , Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Rescuers Down under
The Nightmare before Christmas, The Lion King ,Hercules ,Mulan ,Fantasia 2000 , Dinosaur, Atlantis the Lost Empire , Meet the Robinsons , Frankenweenie ,Frozen, , Strange World
Not in it at all (Total Number: 42 -including Wish)
Pinocchio, The Reluctant Dragon, Dumbo, Saludos Amigos, Victory through Air power, Three Caballeros, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan
Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver and Company, Ducktales the Treasure of the lost lamp, A Goofy Movie, James and the Giant Peach, The Tigger Movie
The Emperor's new Groove, Recess School's out, Return to Neverland, Lilo and Stich, Treasure Planet, The Jungle Book 2
Piglet's big Movie, Brother Bear, Teacher's Pet, Home on the Range, Pooh's Heffalump Movie, Chicken Little, The Wild
Bolt, Winnie the Pooh, Wreck it Ralph, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Moana, Wreck it Ralph 2, Frozen 2, Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, Wish
These are just the animated not live action, and not live action with animation movies. All in all it's more common to see a Disney film with NO romance in it at all then a romantic one.
So why is it that people keep saying, but we're missing the romance, it's because of the fact that most of the time the Parks and other media pair the characters together. Take Peter pan, in the movie, the boy is utterly oblivious to Wendy's affections, to the point of pissing her off enough that she leaves the party that the tribe is hosting. In the parks, and other media (the plays, other movies) the romance is in your face, because people want them to be a couple, but in the movie itself you never see it.
Star, based on the making of book, was supposed to be a younger version of Asha's grandfather, which fits the theming of the movie. However, from what I understand, one of the reasons why they went against is was because it was hitting to close to Genie in the shape shifting. On top of that, the character of Star, seems heavily inspired by the art work of William Joyce, who created Night Light.
This is him and Katherine (Future Mother Goose) who is basically Star in a lot of ways. He lights the night to keep the nightmares away. These two eventually grow up (He remembers He's jack frost) and they end up as a couple.
It would be apping off of that story, and sadly people didn't give the William Joyce movie Meet the Robinsons a chance (don't sleep on that folks please! It is a good story.)
Also straight up give more love to the Guardian's of Childhood, you'll be happy while you read it.
I'm not saying don't ship it, what I am saying is that please don't go saying this was planned when it really wasn't. That was supposed to be her grandfather there.
And I'm not against the art work, I find it very cute and sweet and lover the designs. But I do think that the whole, "WE WERE ROBBED!" thing isn't being at all fair to the creative team behind this story, as again, *points up* they were following the tradition of a story that doesn't have a love interest, which is the vast majority of the stories that they tell.
Wish perfectly falls in line also with Disney's normal length of animated movies.
Wish was 1 hours and 35 minutes
The movie that came out before it clocked in at
Strange World = 1 hours and 42 minutes
Moana = 1 hours and 47 minutes
Frozen = 1 hours and 42 minutes
This Hour long movie thing started really with Atlantis the Lost Empire = 1 hours and 36 minutes
While Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch all clock in around =1 hour and 30 at most, some are even less than that. Wish's run time is equal to that of Atlantis, or Aladdin, or Treasure planet. So I'm a bit perplexed on the "It's too short" thing. Maybe growing up just before and during the days of Little Mermaid and Aladdin made me like the shorter tales.
Which is another point. With a shorter movie, you never get complete backstory. It's a fairy tale! I mean, look at Little Mermaid. Seriously can you Name any of her sisters from the opening song.
Like seriously, I don't really know a lot of people who can tell me anything about Aquatica, for example. Unless you actually read the books or watched the TV show. And before then we had nothing. Nothing on her mom, nothing on her sisters.
Then there's the town Belle comes from, what do we know about it? Not much, not even who governs the damn thing. Howe about Aladdin before the TV series and King of thieves cleared up everything. We didn't know who his parents were, nor Jasmine's mom. Hell we still don't know anything about Cinderella's father from the animated movie.
Point being, a lot of information, much like Wish, got cut for time. In Snow white we were supposed to be given a longer back story for her father and mother, that was cut due to it being to long, it's in the golden book though. Prince Florian (Yes that is his name) was supposed to have Prince Phillips escape, but it was deemed to hard to animate at the time.
Also there was one that was dancing on the clouds, with STARS, around them that looks very much like you know, our Star.
So basically, he's a nod to what could have been for Snow White all those years ago. Cut for time.
Aladdin had a whole cut song because they chopped his mother out as she was supposed to play a part in the movie and help her son with the Genie.
Zena is her name and she was cut to streamline the film.
Maid Marian in the original Robin Hood was supposed to protect him after his plunge into the water, and protect him from King John while he's threatening her. King Richard appears in the end and scares him into stopping but she's willing to take a dagger to the chest to protect Robin.
This is when Richard meets Robin with Marian telling him all about what happened.
All Disney movies change. Isabel in Encanto was supposed to have a nerdy boyfriend that the family disapproved of.
Hell, Frozen was at one point going to be the Bad guy wins the guy, the hero (Gerta) that we followed all the way to the end rooting for her, was supposed to be a gold digger, and Kai was supposed to say "Nah, I'm gonna stick with the Snow Queen" because she's sad and your a bitch. (Thanks Eisner, I hate it!)
So yeah, there's probably A whole lot of cut content that was supposed to go in, but to streamline it to 95 minutes, you have to cut! At least it's not what happened to the Black Cauldron. No I will never forgive Katzenburg for that travesty!
Disney always used Popular Music over Broadway
Honestly this is the one complaint that I hear that kills me the most about this movie, that the studio went with a pop music team. As if this is not a common thing for Disney movies!
Fun fact, the team behind most of the musical scores up until the 1960s were all composers and musicians that wrote songs for the radio. Or song writers that did radio music. If I listed every single one we'd be here for ages.
The Sherman brothers actually wrote pop tunes for the Teen sweetheart Annette Funicello and several other well known singers and actors of movies.
The first major Broadway group was Ashman and Menken, Followed by Miranda, and the Lopez's. Most, if not all of the biggest Disney songs were written by pop songwriters, whos goal it was to get that song played on the radio.
Hell The Lion King, Tarzan, The Emperors New Groove, and Treasure planet to name a few were all done by Pop musicians. I didn't hear complaining about it back then! What's the difference now? Because the team is not Elton freaking John, or Sting?
All of Oliver and Company was pop songs. Several movies didn't have songs, or only had one.
If we're going to celebrate a studio that helped bring an artform out of it's infancy and show that you could do a full movie of animated pictures where you get emotions out of it, we need to celebrate all aspects, and that includes things we may not realize are kind of unique.
When Hercules and Hunchback came out, people complained about them not being "Traditional" Disney. It was Gospel, it was too dark, or in the case of Tarzan, why are we following a boy, or Treasure planet, "Yuck a space story". Now people adore these movies. People who grew up with them want to celebrate them, and sometimes they don't realize that they were once derided as hard or harder than Wish is being right now.
I just wish that people would give these movies a chance rather than not let the creatives tell their story. We had a whole damn section of 2D animation in Strange World! No one talked about it! No one went "More of this please". Give me these stories, let me enjoy a original fairy tale, because if we keep rehashing things, there's going to be little to celebrate when the next 10 or 20 years rolls around.
Sorry for the kinda rant. This has just been on my nerves for a while.

People are always making horror versions of Peter Pan but as a transmasc who was obcessed with Peter growing up he will forever br my first trans alegory. I wanted to be Peter Pan so badly and at the time I had no idea why I was so afraid of growing up. Because as a kid I was a "girl" but being percieved as a girl was not that different from being a boy.
I could walk around shirtless depending on the place cause I had no boobs, I could sit whoever I wanted and my parents would frown but not care as much if I played with all types of toys and watched all cartoons. I could wear any type of clothes and it wouldn't matter. Gender doesn't matter as much until you are an adult and deep down you know that.
I was terrifield of growing up. I wanted to be Peter Pan. Forever a lost boy. Never having to deal with the pressures of a womanhood I mostly couldn't see myself in.
And so if I ever wrote a Peter Pan story it would be about transmasc Peter and transfem Wendy and the fear of growing up and losing this place where their gender identity and expression mattered a little less. And the positive note was that while we have to grow up we don't have to became what people expect and that is hard but we have our place in this earth and we have joy and is worth it. I'll likely never do that. But Peter Pan will always mean that to me.
#evil peter stories are really cool#but there's a subtype of ppl that see them as the only valid reaction/interpretation#and they frustrate me#peter pan#trans#transgender#fun fact my childhood obcession with peter started at four and lasted until i was 12#and early on my mom would hate it#not because I clearly wanted to be peter#it was the one male characther she did not care I wanted to be#but because I used to jump around the house pretending to be him#and she was convincing that me jumping from a coach to another meant i thought I could actually fly#and would jump of a building or something if she ever took me to a high place and stoped looking#and she told me that when I was 5ish and I was like “I'm not stupid” and it is one of my first memories#she was right because my reasoning wasn't peter ain't real I belived in him until 6#but that off course I couldn't fly i didn't had pixie dust

Peter Pan Parallels: Is The Upside Down Neverland?
Lately I've been thinking about Petergate and I came up with what possibly could be another angle to the already complicated Peter situation— what if the name Peter is a reference to Peter Pan?
I don't think this is the only reason that the name Peter becomes prominent, although the show itself does seem to contain other references to Peter Pan, and even creates a correlation between the Upside Down and Neverland.
Peter Pan as a character has origins in early works from author J.M. Barrie, and the Peter Pan story as known today originated in a play written by Barrie before being adapted into a book and subsequently several film adaptations. The story of course being about a young boy named Peter who brings some kids to a magical land where they can never grow old.
It's written very small, but Peter Pan is on the season 4 DNA board!

There are a few instances about never growing old in the show, and they usually come from Will or involve Will.
The first instance is from season 3 during the rain fight, where Mike exclaims that they "aren't kids anymore" and they can't "play games for the rest of their lives." This is then brought up again by Will in season 4, but in a much more hopeful lens.

And then we have the Upside Down, a magical land that appears to be somewhat stuck in time.
I say "somewhat" because I'm honestly unsure if the UD actually frozen in time, or if there is just an impression of Hawkins the night that Will was taken. However, the emphasis this season on clocks as well as Nancy's mention of being in the past does at least allude to the idea of being frozen in time.

Does the UD actually function like Neverland and keep someone from aging? Will was only trapped in there for a week, not enough time to see if there was any anti-aging going on. Henry was in there for a few years, however since he changed so much physically it's hard to tell if he aged at all (and given that he was in his 30s, any aging wouldn't have been very apparent)
ALTHOUGH there could be a point to be made about the fact that Will and Henry were both able to survive in the Upside Down for as long as they did in the first place, maybe it has to do with both of their powers, but perhaps the UD was preventing them from dying?
Starting with Will, we know that he was in the UD for a week without any food or water. The body can survive that long without food, but water is another thing. The show makes a point to have Erica say this in season 3:

—which leads me to believe that they want to draw attention to the fact that Will was miraculously able to survive for so long in a place without any water. Perhaps the UD was able to keep him alive?
Something similar happens with Henry, too. It seems like his body was adapting to the new environment overtime, but still the details of his survival are vague and his ability to stay alive after all that time is still rather anomalous to say the least.
There's an indirect reference to the UD as Neverland in season one, when Troy states that "Will is in fairyland now with all the other little fairies." and while YES he means this in a derogatory way, the dialogue is still a way to point at the fact that Will really is in a magical land, and possibly even a hint at his powers.

Notice as well how Will's light magic bares a resemblance to pixie dust from the Disney movie.
Between Henry and Will, we can see both of them as being Peter Pan-like. Henry as Peter as in the one who lures children into his magical fantasy land, or Will as Peter the boy who doesn't want to/has trouble growing up.
Another aspect of Peter Pan is his shadow, which is detachable and seems to have a mind of its own. Which reminds me a lot of this:

Barrie's intentions behind what the shadow represents is pretty vague, although it has been tied to the idea of wholeness, Peter's attachment to the human world as well as duality, wholeness, and lightness within dark and darkness within light. (more to come later)
#this will likely be a multi-part theory post#this part is mostly my initial thoughts observations#will have to do more research as im only familiar with the disney movie#although that could be their main mode of inspiration#feel free to take these elements and place them in your own interpretations theories how you like#stranger things#stranger things theory#stranger things analysis#my analysis#my theory#will byers#one stranger things#vecna stranger things#henry creel#will byers has powers#byler#<- target audience#not byler related

Peter Pan x Male!Demon!Reader
(Oneshot - REMAKE - NSFW WARNING)
≈6000 words
Peter Pan paylist for this fic:
-Here's to never growing up-
–Third pov
Y/N was an adventurous and rather young spirited demon. In search of self fulfillment, or happiness to keep it frank - he had traveled the fairytale forest, the realms of the giants, wonderland, modern world, and even storybrooke. Due to not being bound by the rules of human magic, he could simply portal himself anywhere he'd like.
Although he made many acquaintances and had many adventures he thought fond of, no place made him truly happy or satisfied. No matter what he did, deep down, he always felt a deep feeling of being lost. Having no true place to call home.
But after a year of adventuring, he had heard about a magical island called Neverland, that found itself in a whole new realm he hadn't seen before. Having heard words or rather, rants, from a certain chubby man with a red cap named mr. Smee..
The man spoke of a group named the Lost Boys, their fearsome leader Peter Pan, the magic there, a banished green fairy, and the some-wicked-some-kind mermaids.
It intrigued him so much he decided to travel there despite its nefarious reputation.
However once he got there he decided to use his magic while levitating around, just to see how this place’s energy worked for him.
That caught the leader Pan's attention. As Pan and his lost boys approached him with much disdain, Y/N tried to act as if he wasn't the powerful demon that he was.
Knowing what he knew about Pan is that he was quite full of himself and proud of his power. He figured that now revealing to Pan that he was equally if not outmatched by him would only cause Pan to feel threatened and scornful.
Pan’s lost lost boys tried to attack him, but it was no use, it was almost as if he was made out of invincible steel. That was however, Y/N using his powers, unbeknownst to them, not to Pan however who seemed to have already had an idea of what he was. Now knowing their attacks were of no use, Pan decided to simply capture and imprison the demon boy who did not seem to fight back at all.
Despite Y/N possessing the ability to wield incredible power, Y/N was most intrigued by Pan. So much so, that despite not liking current affairs, he'd bear with it for the time being. He'd figure that Pan would turn around with the means of his inevitable charm. He also found Pan quite good looking and as he was escorted into the woods of Neverland he was very amused and cracked various jokes and clever flirtations towards Pan. Which however, Pan did not seem to dislike. He'd even seemed more smug about it. But the lost boys were stunned by it, it was extremely unusual and odd for a prisoner of Pan act this way.
– Y/N’s pov
I was not exactly a happy demon when Peter Pan captured me on the island. I had trespassed the place according to him and had now found myself in one of his enchanted cages. At least, that was the reason he told me. However I was quite entertained by this debacle, not to mention that Peter wasn’t bad to look at, at all.
"Well this is a most unpleasant welcome." I scoffed jokingly.
Peter Pan leered at me through the bars of my cage. "Well, aren’t you the audacious one. I don't take kindly to invaders here on Neverland. However demon, I do hope you enjoy your stay in this cage for now."
I rolled my eyes. "Kind as you are, I don't think I'll be confined for long. Alas, there's always a way out of a trap." I replied with a mischievous and challenging glint in my eyes.
To which Pan chuckled darkly. "Oh, I wouldn't count on it so confidently if I were you. You'll find that things here in Neverland work quite differently than wherever you're from. No one here, leaves, without my permission.” Peter paused for a moment, staring me down menacingly. “But for now, goodbye demon.." Pan deviously purred as he vanished right after darkly telling his blonde accomplice to: 'hang me over there next to the other one.’
It didn’t take long before the tall blonde bastard grinned satisfied next to his fellow lost boys as my cage elevated high up in a high tree.
Well this certainly wasn't how I planned the beginning of my great adventure to another realm..
I deeply inhaled as I floated around in my cage brainstorming on how to escape the contrapped nightmare I was in.
Although I wasn't able to escape initially, due to Pan’s using blood magic; when I used my knowledge of magic to my advantage I found a loophole - I switched consciousness with a tragically ugly cat that was walking around and managed to get out of the cage as an animal.
– 3rd POV
When Peter Pan caught wind of this, he was furious. However, his anger turned to intrigue when he realized what Y/N could do with his abilities. He knew he had underestimated the lad on that fateful day they met.
Deciding that Y/N would be more useful as part of his Lost Boys rather than kept in a cage. And so, Pan made the decision to make Y/N one of them, that is of course, if he made it through the initiation. But something in Y/N's eyes told him that he would.
After retrieving Y/N back in his own body, he approached him. A wicked grin spread across his face. "I could use someone like you in my band of merry misfits." His hand extended towards the demon boy, fingers curled into a fist. "What do you say?”
This intrigued Y/N. A brand new adventure? He couldn’t say no to that. And by the looks of it he didn't think he had a choice either way, so he agreed to it. "Alright." He said bluntly.
“Splendid!" Peter's grin widened as he took Y/N’s hand in his. Power seemed to radiate from his touch, electrifying you with excitement and domination in equal measure. "Welcome." His voice was low, almost whispering.
A wave of heat ran over from where their hands connected. "Thanks," Y/N said, feeling somewhat overwhelmed.
Peter Pan released the demon boy’s hand, stepping back and looking at him with sparkling eyes. His presence was electric, charged with a wild energy. He seemed to radiate an aura of danger, but there was something compelling about him, a magnetism that draws the lost and the lonely. He eyes the smaller boy down, he looked enchantingly pretty, and he had a strong aura, although the boy didn't quite seem aware of it.
"Now that that's been settled. I'm Peter Pan. What is your name, boy?" He asked curiously.
Y/N blinked twice. He was pretty nervous due to his apparent attraction to Pan. His features were so gorgeously combined, it had really struck him. "..My name's Y/N" He replied rather aloof.
Peter Pan's grin grew wider, his eyes twinkling with amusement and interest. He stepped closer, their bodies almost touching again, the air around them crackling with anticipation. "Well, Y/N," he began softly, his voice a seductive whisper, "I trust you'll find adventure here with us, that is, if you complete our initiation tonight." All lost boys were accepted based on if they heard Pan's flute. Only the lost or unloved could hear it.
"Initiation? What should I imagine by that?" The boy asked confused and slightly off guard.
Peter Pan's eyes glinted with amusement. He loved seeing the confusion on Y/N's face. It was like watching a puppy try to understand a magic trick. “Oh, nothing too frightening,” he assured him, his voice dripping with wicked charm.
"Alright.." Y/N replied with a hint of wariness.
As Y/N mingled with the rest of the lost boys he had quickly acquainted some. The way he fit in with the other boys made it apparent he would most likely get through the initiation.
Besides, he easily charmed the other boys. Apart from being nervous around Pan, he was a daring kind of boy. A kind the other lost boys could quickly get along with, and felt comfortable being around.
After a day of exciting games, nightfall had fallen, and the party of his initiation had begun. Festive drums and flutes could be heard and the other boys danced wild & free. Y/N however was talking to two lost boys named Devin and Felix who tried to convince him to dance
Peter Pan watched as Y/N mingled with the other Lost Boys. Y/N was indeed a charming one, capable of capturing the hearts of others effortlessly. As the drums and flutes grew louder, so did the excitement. Pan decided it was time to make his presence known and play the melodic tune on his magical flute.
Y/N suddenly heard the new instrument mingling in with the drums and flutes. It was so trancing that he lost all that grounded him, he joined Felix and Devin in the circle of dancing lost boys. Y/N's dance fit in well with some of the more acrobatic boys. It was clear, he was a lost boy through and through.
“Ah, the beauty of youth and freedom." Pan whispered under his breath, watching Y/N dance. "He truly belongs here." Peter Pan couldn't help but watch Y/N, his gaze lingering on the boy's lithe form. He was captivated by his energy and enthusiasm, admiring how effortlessly he seemed to blend in with the other lost boys.
After a while, Pan decided it was time. He stopped playing his melodic tune. And that's when all the boys regained their consciousness. "Bravo, Y/N!" Peter Pan called out, drawing the boy's attention to himself. The others fell back, making room for their fearless leader. "You dance like the wind, i am impressed." Pan appeared before him, offering a graceful bow. "Welcome to the Lost Boys, my newest recruit.”
Y/N was stunned about what had just occurred. It all felt so unreal, yet he felt enormous joy, unlike he's ever felt. "Thanks Pan." Y/N said calmly with an ever so slight smile.
Now that the new recruit was officially initiated the drums and flutes started playing again as the boys around them cheered and grabbed the new lost boy to join them all for a final round of dance around the bonfire.
Pan grinned, his eyes twinkling in the flickering light of the bonfire. "Now, let's show our new friend what we do best!" He called out, leading the charge into another round of their frenzied dance. Pan grinned widely, watching Y/N blend seamlessly into the chaotic dance. He moved gracefully through the crowd, his laughter contagious as he danced circles around the bonfire.
After a long time of joyous dancing and partying, Pan's accomplice and now Y/N's new friend led him to his sleeping hut. "So.. Most of us sleep in huts like these, but some of us build treehouses to stay in. I can help you make one starting tomorrow if you want. But for tonight, you can join mine. Most new recruits sleep on the ground but I like you, so I don't mind having you over man." Felix said upbeat.
The next few days Y/N trained with the other lost boys. Being a demon it gave him an advantage to excel at those activities.
But alas, the flying demon proved to be a little too headstrong and rebellious for Peter's liking. Only playing pranks on Peter. Little did Pan know all that was because Y/N liked him and just loved his reactions. At first Pan put up with it, and simply pranked him back.
But after Y/N joked about Peter to one of his fellow lost boys, Pan had had enough and decided to teach him a real lesson.
Even if what Y/N did was technically harmless, Peter Pan still had a reputation to uphold as the fearsome leader of all the lost boys.
Taking Y/N into the center of the island, Pan humiliated him by hanging him upside down from a tree for everyone to see for a whole week.
Despite Y/N having been able to escape if he wanted to, he still wanted Pan to like him. And a part of him was entertained by it all, hence he gracefully sat out his punishment.
But while this punishment may have proved effective on anyone else, it had little effect on Y/N. He remained the fearless free spirit that he was. Plus this was only a win for him, he got a reaction out of Pan.
And so, Peter Pan began to punish Y/N's recently-made lost boy friends instead of him. Making him isolated from all the other boys since they did not want to be punished by Pan like Y/N's friends. Y/N however, didn't mind this and only caused more trouble now having no one to hold him back.
It was beginning to really hit Pan that all Y/N’s troublemaking was aimed at him. It was already clear to him that Y/N was attracted to him, so he finally put two and two together and realized where Y/Ns relentless teasing and troublemaking was coming from. It was textbook ‘I have a crush on you’ behavior from a guy. The cute boy was desperate for his attention.
And so, feeling his other efforts were futile, Pan came up with a new plan of action - rewarding Y/N for good behavior instead of punishing him. He began to show Y/N personal attention in the form of kissing and flattery, painfully aware of the latter's attraction towards him. And if Pan was honest, he enjoyed these interactions as much, if not a little more, as Y/N did.
And before long, Peter Pan started to want a little more than just kisses and alone time with Y/N. In an effort to also bring the boy into further submission, he planned to make the ever so willing demon have sex with him. And so he proceeded to approach him in his treehouse at night.
Peter Pan smirked, his eyes glinting with a mix of anticipation and control. He knew Y/N was down bad for him, and he intended to use that to his advantage.
Y/N, being the light sleeper that he was, opened his eyes, sensing a presence entering his tree house. He swiftly got up and got in stance, preparing himself for whomever it would be that dared to interrupt his precious sleep. Not knowing of course, that it was Pan.
Peter Pan chuckled darkly as he saw Y/N's reaction. "Well, well, look what we have here," he purred. "A spunky little lost boy who knows how to put up a good fight.”
Y/N abruptly untensed his stance and relaxed. "Oh. Pan, it's you. What could possibly bring you here this late? Is there something going on?" Y/N inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, nothing at all," Peter replied, his tone dripping with seduction. "I just thought we could spend some time together, you and I." He stepped closer, his eyes locked onto Y/N's. "Alone.”
Y/N's cheeks flushed. "Uh..What do you mean by that?" Already knowing the answer but wanting confirmation.
Peter Pan smirked wider, his intentions clear now. "I mean," Peter purred, his fingers trailing lightly down Y/N's chest, "I've been quite impressed with how well you've behaved lately. And I thought it was about time our relationship took more... intimate turn.”
"I..I see." His heart raced at Pan's lewd and sudden advances. Taking a step back from the taller guy out of nervousness.
Peter Pan's smirk turned predatory as he sensed Y/N's never seen before nervousness. "Oh, don't be shy now Y/N," he crooned, taking another step forward. His hands moved to Y/N's waist, pulling him closer. "I thought you liked me." Pan said, feigning a hurt and innocent expression. Just to get Y/N to say exactly what he wanted to hear.
"I do like you. It's just.. I'm not experienced at this. At all." Y/N admitted, unknowingly taking the bait.
Peter Pan chuckled softly, "Ah, sweet innocence," Peter cooed, his grin widening. "Well Y/N," Peter said, leaning in closer still. "I think it's time we fixed that, don't you?" His lips brushed against Y/N's in a soft, teasing kiss.
"Just relax," Peter whispered against Y/N's lips. "Let me show you how it's done." His hands slid up Y/N's sides, tracing patterns on his skin as he deepened the kiss. Peter Pan's hands moved up to cup Y/N's face, deepening the kiss. His tongue teased the outside of Y/N's lips, seeking entrance.
As Peter Pan's tongue delved into Y/N's mouth, his hands moved down to Y/N's chest, tracing patterns on his strong torso. He moved one hand to Y/N's stomach, drawing close so his fingers grazed Y/N's nether regions underneath the oversized shirt he would wear to bed. Granting both his hand, and later his business, easy access to him.
Y/N moaned into the kiss as Peter's tongue danced with his own, eagerly returning the other's affections. He felt a shiver run down his spine as Peter's hands teasingly brushed more against his crotch.
Feeling the response, Peter Pan deepened the kiss further, his hand gently massaging Y/N's arousal through the fabric. His other hand moved up to caress Y/N's neck, fingers entwining with the hair at the nape.
Y/N panted into the kiss, his body responding to Peter's touches eagerly. He could feel himself becoming more and more aroused under Peter's ministrations.
“Mmm," Peter hummed, kissing Y/N deeply as his fingers found the hem of Y/N's shirt. With a swift motion, Peter lifted the shirt over Y/N's head, revealing his naked torso.
"Aren't you cute" Peter purred satisfied as he eye-fucked Y/N's exposed body to which the smaller boy's body trembled in anticipation.
"That's it," Peter whispered against Y/N's lips before pulling back in, his hand sliding down to undo Y/N's underwear. "Let go, and let me take care of you." Peter whispered into the kiss. With that, he gently pushed Y/N back onto the bed, following him down and continuing to kiss him passionately.
Hmm, you feel so good," Peter murmured, his fingers working at the button of his own pants. As soon as it was undone, he pushed the pants down, exposing his hard cock. Gaining a small gasp from the smaller boy, smirking at the boy's impressed reaction. Only to then start grabbing Y/Ns crotch again and slowly rubbing and squeezing it.
Y/N moaned into the kiss, feeling Peter's cock against his leg. He arched into the touch, needing more as Peter's fingers teased his bare bits.
"You like that?" Peter whispered, smirking into the kiss. He groaned softly as he continued to tease Y/N's entrance with his fingers.
Y/N whimpered, nodding against Peter's lips. He wanted Peter to take him, to claim him fully. His legs spread slightly, offering himself up to the older boy.
Peter smirked into the kiss, feeling Y/N's legs spread. He could feel the younger boy's need for him. He growled softly before pushing his hips forward, feeling the head of his cock press against Y/N's entrance. He took a deep breath before pushing slowly into Y/N's heat. It was a tight fit but felt so good.
Y/N gasped at the stretching sensation as Peter pushed slowly into him. He arched his back, pushing back against Peter, wanting him deeper.
Peter Pan groaned, feeling Y/N's tightness gripping his cock. He continued to push slowly, inch by inch, claiming Y/N's virginity.
Y/N bit his lip, feeling every inch as Peter filled him. It hurt a little but the pleasure was overwhelming. He gripped Peter's shoulders, holding onto him as he took the older boy's cock fully.
Peter Pan growled, feeling Y/N's tight heat wrap around him. He held onto Y/N's hips, slowly beginning to thrust, feeling the head of his cock rub against Y/N's wall with each deep thrust.
"Fuck, Y/N," Peter panted, eyes almost completely closed. "You're so fucking tight." His movements became more frantic as he lost himself in the sensations of Y/N's body moving beneath him.
Y/N moaned, his body responding to Peter's thrusts. He arched his back, pushing against Peter's hips, wanting more of the older boy's cock. "Peter," he whimpered, feeling himself growing closer to his first orgasm.
"Cum for me, Y/N," Peter groaned, picking up the pace, his thrusts becoming rougher as he felt Y/N's tight heat squeezing him.
"Ahh!! Peter!" Y/N cried out, his body tensing as he came hard around Peter's cock. He arched his back, feeling every muscle in his body clench.
“Fuck," Peter groaned, feeling Y/N's tight heat clenching around him as he thrust into the demon boy. He could feel his own orgasm building, his thrusts becoming harder and faster as he lost himself in the feeling.
“Peter!" Y/N cried out, his voice breaking as he felt Peter's cum filling him up. He arched his back, pushing against the older boy's hips, wanting to feel every last drop.
With a final, deep thrust, Peter came inside Y/N, filling him with his seed. His body shuddered with the force of his orgasm as he held onto Y/N's hips, their skin slapping together in rhythm with their breathing.
Y/N gasped, his body trembling as he felt Peter's cum filling him up. to the brim. It was an intense sensation, both painful and exhilarating at the same time. He lay there panting, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.
As their breathing slowed, Peter gently pulled out of Y/N, his softening cock slipping out of the tight heat. He leaned down, placing a tender kiss on Y/N's flushed cheek. "That was quite the experience, wasn't it?”
"Mhm.." Y/N agreed breathlessly. "I didn't know doing stuff like this would feel so good" He admitted bashfully
"Does that mean that you'll let me come back and play with you some more?" Peter asked with a wicked grin, his cock still hard and twitching slightly.
Y/N averted his gaze shyly. "I guess so.. "I want more." He admitted.
A triumphant smile spread across Peter's face. "Wonderful," he purred, leaning down to capture Y/N's lips in a passionate kiss. "I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of fun together.”
This arrangement of theirs ended proving to be an even more effective reward and slowly but surely, Peter began to crave even more from Y/N than he had initially foreseen.
During their adventures in Neverland, Y/N and Peter stumbled upon a plan for mischief.
"What if we replace Tinkerbell's fairy dust with something else?" Peter finished, grinning wickedly. They both shared a sinister laugh, their hearts pounding with excitement and anticipation.
"You know what I've got in mind, don't you?" Y/N said, licking his lips in anticipation. Peter just nodded in agreement as they exchanged a knowing glance before going about their mischievous plan.
As the sun began to set, casting an orange glow over Neverland, Y/N and Peter made their move. They crept silently through the forest, their hearts pounding with anticipation. Finally, they reached Tinkerbell's treehouse, their target within reach.
Carefully, they climbed up to the treehouse, avoiding any noise that might alert the fairy. Once inside, they found Tinkerbell's precious jar of fairy dust, shining brightly.
Are you ready for this?" Peter whispered, his breath hot against Y/N's ear. Without waiting for an answer, he reached out and scooped up some of the fairy dust, holding it tightly in his hand.
Y/N watched nervously as Peter began to replace the fairy dust with a substance they'd found earlier, carefully concealed in their clothing. The impostor dust was “practically harmless”, but it looked exactly like the real thing.
After ensuring that all of Tinkerbell's supply had been replaced, they climbed down from the treehouse, their hearts racing with excitement and anticipation. Now they just had to sit back and watch the chaos unfold.
As night fell, the inhabitants of Neverland who came to Tinkerbell for fairy dust began to feel the effects of the replaced substance. Instead of granting them flight or other magical abilities, it caused them to stumble, fall, and even become momentarily invisible.
“I knew I could count on you to help me with this, Y/N," Peter said, softly grabbing his face with one hand. "Now let's see how long it takes for everyone to realize it was us." They shared a wicked laugh, feeling untouchable in their mischief.
The very day after, they found themselves in the heart of Neverland, near the enchanted river where they often swam and played. As they splashed around, their laughter echoing through the forest.
Feeling more brave by the second, Y/N tentatively tried out a new position, straddling Peter's lap and leaning down to brush their lips together before trailing kisses along his chin and neck.
However, their play slowly turned to passion and they found themselves kissing and groping each other on the shore of the river. Their skin shimmered with water droplets.
Peter moaned in approval, his hands trailing up Y/N's wet back, gently gripping his hips as he pulled Y/N closer to grind against him. He growled softly, wanting more of Y/N's sweet, loving touch.
“Mmm, yes... harder," he whispered, urging Y/N to move rougher against him. The sensations were overwhelming.
Peter arched his back, gasping in ecstasy as Y/N continued to give him everything he wanted. It felt so good, being touched and wanted like this. The two of them moved closer, lost in a world of sensation and desire.
And when the evening came, they cuddled on the rooftop of Pan’s treehouse. Which Peter held under the pretense of ‘being a reward for Y/N's good behavior that day’. But the truth was, that he just wanted to spend time with Y/N. Which made him wonder if Y/N felt the same.
As they gazed at the stars on the roof of Pan's treehouse, Peter looked deeply into Y/N's eyes. "Y/N?" Peter whispered, his voice barely audible in the darkness. "Can I ask you something?”
"Do you... like being with me?" Peter asked, biting his lower lip nervously. He couldn't believe he was actually asking this question - it felt so vulnerable. But he needed to know where he stood with Y/N.
"I do. There isn't anywhere else I'd like to be than here at Neverland. And it's all because of you." Y/N replied earnestly. A bit nervous of Pan's impending reaction to this however.
"Really?" Peter asked, his heart swelling with joy at Y/N's words. He leaned in, pressing his lips softly against Y/N's. "I'm glad," he whispered, feeling a rush of happiness and contentment wash over him.
It became clear to Peter that the feelings he had for Y/N were far more than just him being a useful and powerful asset amongst the Lost Boys or just being nice to look at. No, it had developed to something more in depth.
So, late, on an ever so clear and warm night, Pan decided to seek Y/N out. Not being able to hold these feelings he had to himself for any longer.
Y/N was sitting at the beach with his two latest befriended fellow lost boys, Devin and Felix. They had a bottle of rum with them and laughed as they talked about the most nonsensical things. And while the two other boys were completely hammered, Y/N of course, was still sober due to his high tolerance. It didn't take long before the two guys fell asleep right next to the bonfire. Which left Y/N on his own. Which Pan deemed as the perfect opportunity to have a heart to heart with Y/N.
"Good evening Y/N, mind if I join you?" He asked rhetorically. Sliding up next to Y/N, Peter gazed out into the ocean for a moment before turning back to face him. "I wanted to talk to you about something... important," he said quietly, his heart racing as he stared into Y/N's eyes.
The demon looked at Pan curiously. "Oh, what would that be?" He asked hesitantly due to Pan's unusual serious and earnest tone.
"I... I think I might have feelings for you," Peter said softly, his face flushed with embarrassment. He couldn't believe he was admitting this, but the truth was too strong to ignore. "I've always found you attractive...But recently, I've fancied you as both a company and individual too.”
"Really? I'm highly flattered." Y/N paused for a moment. Trying to find the right words for his mutual fondness. "I must admit, I've been fancying you as well. Your presence both on this island as well as with me personally makes me very happy. And frankly, I definitely find myself with feelings for you too.”
Hearing Y/N's confession, Peter's heart soared. A mixture of happiness and surprise flooded his features. "Really?" He asked, then raising an eyebrow with a smug grin. "So it's mutual then." Peter Pan declared, a small smile maintaining on his face. Despite trying to put out his usual smug demeanor, he couldn't believe his luck. He reached out, gently tracing his fingers along Y/N's jawline. "I'm glad it is.”
After that heartfelt conversation. Pan gradually started to become even more possessive and tender towards Y/N, as his feelings slowly began to transform into something far more serious and romantical.
Another time, they found themselves in the lost boy lair, dancing around a bonfire with the company of Y/N's fellow Lost Boys as per usual. As they spun and laughed together to drums and Pan's hypnotizing melody on his flute. Peter couldn't help but be reminded again of how well Y/N fit into his world.
Amidst the playful chaos, Peter managed to steal a moment alone with Y/N. He grinned, his eyes sparkling mischievously in the flickering firelight. "You know," he began, his voice low and teasing,
"There's still one more thing I want to show you." With a wink, he reached over, snatching Y/N's hand.
“Come on, let's see if you can keep up." And with that, Peter led Y/N on a daring chase through the trees, laughing and screaming as they raced from branch to branch. Y/N followed willingly, trusting Peter completely.
Finally they came to a stop, standing on a high branch overlooking the sleeping Lost Boys in their hammocks. Peter turned to Y/N, placing both his hands on Y/N's cheeks tenderly, looking deeply into his eyes. "Do you trust me?”
Before Y/N could respond, Peter leaned in, pressing their lips together passionately. Their kiss was filled with desire and longing, a testament to the bond they'd formed in this magical world.
As the kiss deepened, Y/N found himself lost in the passionate embrace. It seemed as if the entire world had disappeared, leaving only the two of them in a cocoon of desire.
When they finally pulled apart, both boys were breathless. Y/N looked into Peter's eyes, feeling an intense connection he'd never experienced before. "I trust you," he whispered softly, his heart pounding wildly in his chest.
"Good," Peter replied, his voice husky with both desire and affection. He leaned in close again, nuzzling Y/N's neck. It warmed his heart that the demon he so fondly liked, trusted him. And for as much as he was capable of it anyway, he trusted the demon boy too.
After that, they were seen walking back to their home base, hands entwined, still catching their breath from their passionate encounter. As they strolled, they couldn't help but smile at each other, their connection growing stronger by the minute.
Things started to progress a lot more from there. They spend a lot of time together and one thing became clear to Peter, he wanted Y/N here forever.
Months went by, and Pan's feelings had only grown deeper for Y/N by the day. He couldn't help but want to be near him and follow him around as much as his villainous duties allowed him too. He loved how Y/N flattered him, looked at him, touched him and didn't feel intimidated by him, and in a weird way, they complimented each other. Y/N was a very fearless and stoic guy who was much like him when it came to being mischievous, yet he also had a gentle, caring and reliable side. And those very traits slowly developed in Pan towards Y/N as well.
So, on a warm and lovely evening he had requested for Y/N in his treehouse through the means of his loyal accomplice Felix. Y/N, of course being the eager man that he was towards Pan, came straight away.
He was delighted at the quick presence of his beloved demon. "Y/N, you came straight away. I'm flattered." Pan replied flirty. He couldn't help it, Y/N just brought that out in him.
Y/N smiled with a glint in his eyes. "How could I not? Look what i have here waiting for me" He bashfully looked into Pan's eyes then down to his lips and repeated that.
Pan smirked at Y/N's eagerness to him. "Oh, you certainly do have me, Y/N," Pan purred, taking Y/N's face in his hands and pulling him closer for a deep, passionate kiss.
Their tongues danced together, exploring each other's mouths in a tender yet intense display of affection. Y/N's face burned brightly as he returned Pan's kisses. All the while affectionately holding his face.
As the kiss deepened, Peter Pan's hands roamed over Y/N's body, his touch possessive yet tender. He loved the feel of Y/N's skin against his own, the warmth that emanated from him. Pan then gently pulled back as his feelings for the latter overwhelmed him.
He knew it for sure. He loved Y/N. He looked intently into his eyes, those strikingly enchanting e/c eyes.
"Y/N, I love you." There, he finally did it, he declared his love to Y/N.
To Pan's displeasure Y/N wore a stunned expression. He was silent for a good 6 seconds.
Pan looked at him with pleading eyes. He hasn't been this vulnerable in a very long time, and he couldn't have been more terrified of Y/N's response.
"I... I just.. need to- think." Y/N staggered as he flew out the door.
Pan didn't even stop him. Y/N's response had stung him too much.
Effective immediately, severe precipitation befell Neverland. Pan's emotions heavily influenced the island - the weather being one of those things.
All soaked from the weather, Y/N had sought shelter in his hut.
He felt conflicted. Pan's sudden confession really caught him off guard. He knew he had feelings for Pan. But saying those 3 words of the heart scared him.
He had never dared to think Pan loved him, he always seemed so “above it” to him, but mostly he was just scared of rejection. Hence he had only tried to repress his love for him. Expressing it, never even occurred to him.
All kinds of thoughts stormed through his mind. Their relationship started off rocky, but Y/N couldn't deny things had developed a long way since then.
But even in this moment he couldn't help but worry for Pan right now. He didn't exactly give the 'response of the year' to his 'i love you'.
Y/N then realized that he was caring for Pan by feeling this way. Like he always did in the back of his mind. Not to mention Pan pretty much occupied his mind all together all of his days.
The way he craved his presence when he wasn't around. He told himself it was fine whenever it happened. But it wasn't. He needed him.
He always missed him when he was not around. He looked forward to seeing Pan after they would have to separate. And deeply treasuring every single moment they spent together.
Not to mention how he felt when Pan praised him, hugged him, kissed him or more.
He had been crazy for him all this time.
Y/N abruptly got up from his bed and took off to find the guy he loved.
When he arrived at Pan's hut the place was very much abandoned. Where could Pan be?
Y/N then remembered about Pan's beloved thinking tree. If he would be any place right now it would be there. Through the vicious rain he flew through the sky towards Pan's thinking tree.
– Pan's pov
There I sat, alone and drenched like a sodding dog in my thinking tree.
What was I thinking? Proclaiming my love so rashly? I've really let myself become weak. And for what? To make a fool out of myself? To have an aching heart? Maybe I was foolish to think Y/N and I could be more than what we were. Perhaps villains don't get to be loved after all..
I took a deep breath before planning to head back to my hut; when suddenly Y/N appeared before my eyes.
– Y/N's pov
After flying quick circles around the entire tree I found Pan sitting on a branch somewhere high near the very top of the tree.
I approached him and sat down on the branch before him. "Hey."
Pan leaned towards me on a branch just above my shoulder. "Let me guess, you've thought and you're here to tell me you don't love me. Spare me your pity Y/N. I was foolish, I know." Pan scoffed.
I shook my head. "No you weren't. I'm sorry for how I reacted. It's just.. It can be hard for me to translate my feelings to words or any sense. But.. that doesn't make them any less present."
Pan looks to where his hand is holding the tree branch above Y/N's shoulder then back to his eyes, "What are you saying Y/N?" He asked hesitantly. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was it possible? Was he saying what Pan thought he was saying?
“What I'm trying to say is, I love you Pan. More than anything." I confessed.
Pan's expression changed and his heart leaped into his throat before he spoke. This couldn't be happening. He looked up to Y/N with a mixture of shock and disbelief, "You... you truly love me?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper and his heavy feelings beginning to slightly wash away, causing the rain to also slightly clear up.
I decided my words weren't enough. So I took matters into my own hand and pulled Pan in for a deep kiss.
– 3rd POV
Pan hesitated for a moment as Y/N pulled back, his heart pounding wildly in his chest. He gazed up at Y/N's eyes then down to his lips and harshly pulled him back in for a new kiss, returning it with an intensity that mirrored Y/N's feelings. Their lips locked passionately, their hands finding solace in each other's presence.
-- Y/N's perspective
There we were, both soaked and making out in Pan's thinking tree, now knowing we loved each other. And all that we knew that awaited, was certain adventure.
-The End-

"What if the legend of Peter Pan you know, was more than one story?"
2025 is finally here, and I wanted my first new post to be something entirely new. Aside from making Wish Granted, I've been brainstorming a non Wish related project focusing on a reboot of Peter Pan. There's been so many versions of him over the decades, that I thought it would be awesome to create a story where nearly all the versions of him are combined into one trilogy of movies! Hence why I made a redesign of him seen above. He does looks a bit similar to the Disney version, but I wanted to add a little more modern parts to him, like having a leaf patterns referencing his original book counterpart.
The idea here is to have a three part story covering Peter's life from an ordinary boy getting taken by pirates, growing slightly into a teen and becoming a hero on Neverland, meeting Wendy and the Darling children, and going through a character arc of what it means to grow up by the end. Its something I haven't seen and want to tackle myself.
I don't have a full outline for this story yet, but I have gotten a lot of Story beats and twists on the characters I'd like to share.
•The three Titles are Peter Pan: The Starcatchers, Peter Pan: Neverland Hero, Peter Pan: The Last Pirate.
•Peter starts out as a 12 year old boy in the first movie, and turns 15 by the end and through the second and third film.
•Peter is voiced by Kaiji Tang.
•While he can't read, his favorite story he's listen to is Puss in Boots. The story later becomes his inspiration to become iconic version of Pan we know, and as a hero to the residents of Neverland.
•Additionally, this version is a combination of DreamWorks Puss in Boots, Gojo Saturo and Jack Frost all mixed together to create a new take.
•He's the first lost boy. The others boys become part of his crew after he rescues them from Hook, acting as an older brother.
•Peter was alone on Neverland for two days, until he uses stardust to bring his shadow to life so he wouldn't be alone anymore. Shadow and Peter grow up together and become inseparable on adventures. They consider each other brothers.
•People in Neverland don't age, unless they leave the island. Peter ends up only staying 15 because that's when he actually stays on Neverland as his new home.
•His mother is alive.
•His character arc will be learning what it means to really "grow up". He must make a choice between staying in Neverland and remaining as he is, or live a new life with Wendy.
•Wendy keeps getting nicknamed "Darling" by Peter. 😂
•He's from the 1930's and by the time he meets Wendy, it's 1990's. Its a shout out to Steven Spielberg's "Hook".
•He's very disoriented by the big city, especially with all the cars around and way more people than in his own time.
•Captain Hook is voiced by Ian McShane
•Hook was the one who took Peter as a child to work on his ship. In that time, he does show the boy a few pirate tricks and how to take things right underneath someone's nose.
•One Hook's crew members, Alf becomes a father figure to Peter by teaching some survival techniques, and eventually defects from Hook after growing attached to him.
•There's a different reason Peter cut off Hooks hand, and its not a practical joke.
•Tick-Tock the crocodile is in the second and third film, and is still an enemy of Hook. In this version, he's been fed so many clocks by Hook that the magic in them fused with his body, turning him into a walking, ticking beast. He's also anthropomorphic and can speak.
•Design wise, he's 8 feet tall, sharp claws and pointed teeth. He has small clock faces sticking out on his body, with his eyes looking like traditional clocks, with the little hands pointing in whatever direction he's looking.
•He's voiced by Jim Cummings.
•Tick Tock starts out as Hook's prey, but after Peter stops him from eating the Captain, he makes Pan as his enemy as well.
•Tinker Bell finds Peter when he's on Neverland, unbeknownst to her at the time that she and Peter were born at the same time.
•She has feelings for Peter as years pass on, but he only sees her as a sibling.
•Tink can be understood by humans, but she chooses to speak like a bell in front of Wendy to trick her, and it annoys Peter. .😂
That's what I got for now, and I wanted to share something non Wish related, like some of my friends. I haven't forgotten Superzeroes, its just that this has been sitting in my brain and I want to just tell it finally! There's definitely much more to develop cause it's a work in progress, but I hope you want to hear more or see more designs soon!

Peter Pan
from Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up by J. M. Barrie

#I just feel like peter pan is very queer as a concept. in terms of what he represents. but as an actual character idk#but he's completely oblivious to girls being interested in him and doesn't understand romance. and the whole idea of not wanting to grow up#and to stay with the lost boys resonates with a lot of queer experiences (it's the 'will byers destroying castle byers' of it all y'know)#also peter pan is almost exclusively played by lesbians and twinks and that's gotta mean something#maude adams has my heart forever and ever <3#peter pan#classic literature#polls#queer

Taran (The Black Cauldron/The Chronicles Of Prydain) vs. Tim Drake (DC Comics)
Y'all Hate Kids: Screwed By The Writers

Propaganda below the cut
-
Taran (The Black Cauldron/The Chronicles Of Prydain)
Taran in the books is always looked down upon and treated condescendingly for wanting to be a hero by his own parental figures, as well as Gwydion [someone he looked up to]. Not to mention when he acts like a kid everyone gets annoyed with him. Eilonwy constantly insults him, though to be fair he's equally as awful to her and frankly their relationship only slightly improves over time as they still sometimes insult each other. Another awful thing about the books, is that when Taran tries to use the magic sword to defeat the Horned King, it electrocutes him because he's apparently not "noble enough" but he was trying to avenge his friend? How is that not noble? The books continuously make Taran's life miserable, at times often making the books feel cynical. While the movie is bashed on by Prydian book fans, at least Taran is treated slightly better. Dallben still looks down upon him, but he's a bit more caring this time. And while he and Eilonwy do argue, their relationship is not fueled by anger and it's more healthy as they don't constantly insult each other. However, Taran did not get a fair chance to become a TRUE hero, and I don't really count the ending. What makes things worse is that the Disney fandom constantly bashes on Taran, calling him whiny and annoying and some of them wished he was the villain of the Chip N Dale movie instead of Peter Pan [which in itself I could talk a lot about]. Disney themselves seem to enjoy bashing on Taran, because in Once Upon A Studio he is LITERALLY overshadowed by the princesses, EVEN EILONWY. TBH, I actually wouldn't be all that opposed to a villain Taran arc, as long as it's done with respect and actually calls out the issues of Taran being treated like dirt while Disney protags who have done worse get off scott-free, and Taran should also have a redemption arc.
Tim Drake (DC Comics)
He’s way too often forgotten in favor of other Robins. He’s been a teen since the 90s and although his successor has very clearly been aged up at least 4 years, Tim seems stuck in late adolescence. Let the boy grow up already!

What's the Deal with London in Kingdom Hearts?
I mean is that worldbuilding poorly explained or what? Bad jokes aside, I now need to steal people's eyeballs for a moment while I gesture wildly at inconsistencies in Kingdom Hearts, specifically KH1 but I'm sure the other games as well... which is completely strange and totally new for this fandom.
The main thrust of what I'm trying to get at is that both Edwardian London (if not all of England, which I'll get to in a second) and Victorian England (if not Alice's family's estate in Victorian England) are both worlds in the KH Universe with a second point that world travel is easier than the games try to present. I'm going to break this up into three main pieces of evidence, in order of importance, before moving into conclusions and fun things it means if I'm not misconstruing the evidence. Which is possible, I'm a fallible human being but I'm going to post this anyway.
{ the rest is under a read more because I'm not an asshole and this is roughly 3,500 words so it'd clog dash. You have been warned }
Main Argument: Edwardian London exists in Kingdom Hearts, and it is not connected to Neverland, and Victorian England exists in Kingdom Hearts and is not connected to Wonderland.
Okay kiddos, let's start with some important context and definitions. When I say 'Edwardian England', I specifically mean the era of English history from between 1901 to 1914. For setting the time periods of the worlds I'll be discussing here, I am going to assume that the Disney films roughly line up with the books they are based upon. This post primarily focuses on three worlds: Wonderland, Neverland, and Deep Jungle. As you'd guess from that selection, this is very much a KH1 oriented post and I'm sure we could probably dismiss them as being later retconned but I can't think of anything that directly contradicts them so...
Also I'm assuming that the Disney films aren't too far off from the original source material, so if they are uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, to my knowledge, does not specify a date in the text itself but considering the background of it being written for an actual real-world child, I will assume that the publication year, 1865, to be the in-text year and also the year the movie (and by extension, the year Alice herself comes from in Kingdom Hearts) takes place. This places her roughly in the middle of the Victorian era (I know I defined only the Edwardian era before but this will be important for something else later). Pinning down the year for Neverland is slightly more difficult, as its source material is from two linked sources: the original play, Peter Pan: or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, and the novel Peter and Wendy. The play was first debuted in 1904, while the novel (which is similar yet different) was first sold in 1911. Both are well into the Edwardian period, and I again cannot seem to find any confirmation of the date in-text so we're going by publication date again. Deep Jungle's source, the novel Tarzan of the Apes, does actually give a rough enough in-text year: Tarzan's birth parents are marooned in 1888, and the main plot takes place when Tarzan himself is 21, making the year 1909.
That effectively means that, roughly speaking, the London we see in Kingdom Hearts I at the end of Neverland (which is confined to Big Ben but we see the whole city below) could very well be the same one that Jane and Clayton (and presumably Jane's father but we never see him so make of that what you will) left to get to Deep Jungle.
Now that the concept is established and definitions clairfied, let's move on to my evidence for this and other Weird Things™️ that occured to me.
Main Evidence 1: Deep Jungle, the Union Jack, and the Globe
So, I'll start with Deep Jungle because it provides the biggest puzzle piece I think. I know that Deep Jungle will probably not show up again in the series, but it did in 1 and so it gets to be here. Deep Jungle is the second largest wrench into the 'world order' shtick they brought up in Wonderland (and then never again), because it is pretty clear that Jane & Clayton are not from the jungle. They have a camp, for one, and for two they are the only humans (besides Tarzan) in the entire world. Jane asks Sora if he's 'also here to study the gorillas', which mean her and Clayton came to the jungle / island / whatever it is. They also have more technology than the rest of the world would imply, a physical map of Africa, and, most damning for this post: a Union Jack on the flag pole. This means that, in the Kingdom Hearts universe, Jane and Clayton are English folk from England, as they feel the need to fly their flag. Moreover, the map of Africa (on the far wall of the tent with Jane in it) means they are aware of other continents from Earth.
Also an important note is that they have a globe in the base camp. I'm going to take this as further evidence of them coming from a place that is scientifically advanced enough to know what the continents of the world roughly look like.
Here's where things get tricky, though: how did they get there? As far as I can tell (looking over the dialogue from a script someone uploaded to GameFAQs so take it as you will as well as just generally looking around what you have access to in the game), they don't have a vessel that would have gotten them there, much less get them back. Did they come in a ship that just let them off there for a while, like the movie? Possibly. Hook's ship is able to do that, after all. Which just further puts a hole in the world traveling mechanics the series presented: how were they able to get their ship from England to the other world of Deep Jungle without them getting eaten by Heartless? Was their ship a gummi ship? Is Hook's ship actually a gummi ship? (Unlikely, it's too smooth and he still had it in Birth By Sleep, during which Gummi Blocks weren't a thing iirc)
Or are there other, safer ways to traverse between worlds than gummi space or the Lanes Between? Can you use a sea faring vessel to sail the Ocean Between and get to those New Worlds? Also doubtful but probably the easiest answer.
(Also, just to note because I can't think of anywhere else to say it and I thought it was interesting: Clayton's rifle is a double barreled rifle and, more to the point, a common hunting implement for gentleman hunters back in the day. The fact Sora can tank shots designed to bring down elephants is pretty bonkers. Clayton is also one of two Kingdom Hearts characters (internationally) to use a gun, the other being Barbossa in his fight in Kingdom Hearts II. Fun facts that only two people pull out actual gun-guns in the whole series... unless you're playing the Japanese version of II, then one of the undead pirate mooks uses a flintlock rifle, which is why their crossbows in the international version makes a gun sound. )
Main Evidence 2: Neverland, Big Ben, and the Absence of Wendy
Okay, so Neverland has appeared in other games so it holds a bit more water than Deep Jungle. Now, in KH1, I don't know why they call it 'Neverland', because it's entirely Hook's ship and Big Ben... which is in London. And seeing as, to my knowledge and brief searches through the scripts of Days and Birth by Sleep, they never bring up Wendy or London, and there doesn't appear to be a hint that it is otherwise connected, I am led to believe this is another case of characters that shouldn't be able to easily traversing beyond their world easily traversing beyond their world. Wendy was kidnapped as far as we're told in KH1, and maybe Pan only really met her when she was kidnapped by Hook. The bigger issue comes during the outro of the world, where Peter Pan straight up says 'oh yeah, just bring Kairi to Neverland when you rescue her!', as if it's completely normal to travel there from somewhere else. Peter doesn't seem to have an issue traveling the Ocean Between, and neither does Hook for that matter, but he's a villain so we could possibly handwave that as 'he was given those powers by Maleficent', who herself is a whole can of worms but this post is long enough.
Wendy proceeds to never be brought up again throughout the DS version of Days. I'm not sure about the manga, but I'm mostly focusing on the games so if she does uh... sorry, but good on you for reading the manga it's good. The point here is that if it was as simple as Peter says to simply 'remember Neverland and you can see me again', she probably would be some level of presence. I'll bring it up again in the Wonderland section of this post, but I think this solidifies that it is, indeed, a separate world: the worlds separate after KH1 and travel between them should be more difficult.
Now, there is the slight hole of the world map icon in both KH1 and Days having Big Ben on display (despite not going there in Days, but it seems to just be the KH1 icon flipped). I'm choosing to view that as a gameplay concession and a reusing of assets that didn't need to be changed, because otherwise we're opening another can of worms of how is Neverland two worlds connected like that? Most worlds in Kingdom Hearts are fairly uniform and aesthetically consistent due to being based on individual movies, and while that explanation would make sense, it doesn't account for Wendy not going back to Neverland and Roxas not going to Big Ben in Days (though that second one can easily be handwaved as 'fighting at the clocktower would've been a pain in the ass using a DS d-pad'. The only world that gets is kinda an outlier that goes against that sentiment is Disney Town / Castle, which is connected to the old black & white animations in the distant past (which we visit as Timeless River) and then the Country of Musketeers in the less distant past, but there's handwavey explanations for those. Other than potentially Wonderland, this would be the only world like this.
Speaking of...
Main Evidence 3: Wonderland, Victorians, and Implications
Wonderland is keeping me up at night because of one missable interaction in KH1. If you speak to Alice while she's in the cage while you're looking for evidence, Sora and co. will introduce themselves to her and they'll have the following interaction:
Alice: Who are you? Sora: I’m Sora. Goofy: I’m Goofy, and that there’s Donald. Alice: Pleased to meet you, though I do wish it were under better circumstances. I’m sorry you got mixed up in this nonsense. Sora: Why are you on trial in the first place? Alice: I should like to know the very same thing! Apparently I was guilty from the moment I took the stand! Sora: That’s crazy! So, where are you from? Alice: Hmm, curious. I can’t quite remember. You see, I found this mysterious rabbit hole. When I tried to peek inside, I tumbled in head over heels… And I found myself here. Sora: So you’re from another world! Goofy: That’s funny. Maybe you don’t need a ship, then. Donald: I don’t get it. Alice: What do you mean “another world”?
This, if not outright confirms, heavily implies that Alice is not from Wonderland. Which... duh, that's just kinda the point of the story. But in the context of Kingdom Hearts is very important, and highlighted by Goofy: it's possible to get to other worlds without a ship. Which, again, we see later: Dark Corridors, star shards, wishing on one's heart, the Power of Waking... these are the proof in the puding, but we'll circle back to that third one because Beast also does something that makes some major implications if you don't believe in Word of God.
But why is Alice so central to this post? Because, unlike Jane, Clayton, and Wendy, she's not Edwardian. She's Victorian, and removed from the early 1900s by 44 years. Meaning (again, assuming that the above exchange is meant to imply she came from her 'real world' into Wonderland, with that 'real world' being Victorian England) that there isn't one England in the Ocean Between, but two: one Edwardian and one Victorian. Even if we say that her family's estate is simply connected to Wonderland through a rabbit hole and nothing else, that still leaves Edwardian London (and again, presumably more of England but we'll get to that) as a separate entity. And, no, Alice can't 'just be Edwardian', because of one very big thing: her dress. Alice dressed in a animated approximation of a Victorian child's dress (more of her legs are exposed, meant to allow her to run and play as she is a child and there is more of a structure to the skirt, giving it a bell jar-shape look), which would be seen as incredibly quaint in the Edwardian period (for comparison, Edwardian children's dresses had less of that structure, with the dress falling more flat against the body. This was also reflected by adults of the period, but we're focusing on children so shut up. Also I can't really draw a comparison with Wendy herself, seeing as she's in a nightgown so historical examples upon ye.)
Now, I'll admit her not knowing Wonderland is 'another world' could sink the ship... if Alice in Wonderland didn't build in an explanation: she legitimately doesn't think she's in another world, and the ending of the story has her waking up from a dream. While in Kingdom Hearts this is unlikely (as the Realm of Sleep exists, and Wonderland doesn't seem to be a Sleeping World but hey maybe KH4 will say it is and I'll firebomb Square), it's completely possible that her wish to go to a world of nonsense brought her there while she slept... or she did legitimately end up there, following a world traveler (more on them in a tangent section because I don't want to go down another rabbit hole) and was sent back to her original world after the events of Kingdom Hearts I as she also doesn't appear during the events of Days.
(I'm also sidestepping anything that happened in X or Dark Road because I don't know what happens in them that deeply, so I can't wait for that to blow a hole in my entire point here)
Tangent: Traversing the Ocean Between
Okay so these are moreso side things I wanted to point out because I made a point about the rules of world traversal making no sense and I wanted to further highlight that the World Order is, in fact, real fuckin' dumb. These are just rapid fire points tho I'm not going crazy over it.
1. Beast and the power of being a simp — Hollow Bastion has a lot of things that Break the Rules™️, but the relevant one here is that Beast survived the destruction of his world, somehow didn't get consumed by Heartless despite having a Heart full of Darkness, and just... wished real hard to get to where Belle was taken. Nomura later walked that back and said that Beast used a Corridor of Darkness, but that makes less sense because if you're not wearing the Anti-Darkness Drip™️, you get completely drained of vitality and probably become a Heartless. Either way, that seems like it shouldn't be something just anyone can do, but no one comments on it so I guess it's not overly weird.
2. Hook's Ship — I feel like we don't talk about how Hook's ship can just... sail the Ocean Between with seemingly no issue. It literally just rams Sora's ship and captures them right out of space. Again, it's not commented by anyone as an odd thing to happen, so is that just normal? If the Islands didn't get destroyed, would Sora, Riku, and Kairi be out in the Ocean Between? You evidently don't need to breathe out there, because you're on Hook's ship's deck and outside the Mysterious Tower just fine... Unless it's Spelljammer rules, actually. That could probably work, actually...
3. What does unlocking the paths do, actually? — I know it's just a gameplay mechanic to keep you more or less knowing where to go at any point in time, but in-universe it seems like you only need it if your preferred method of travel is a gummi ship or Keyblade Glider. I mean, Hell, the Guardians of Light have their own answer to corridors of darkness, as seen in Birth by Sleep and the mobile games.
4. No One Cares Your a Duck and Dog and that's also weird — No one ever points out that there's walking anthropomorphic animals with Sora. I'm willing to ignore it rarely coming up (the only instance that sticks out in my mind is Minister Frollo, who was desperately close to using a slur) that Sora has weird fashion, but I'm pretty sure Donald and Goofy would turn heads in like... a good number of the worlds we visit? Like. Are anthros a common sight? How are they getting around? Or do people just assume they're related to Moogles? What the actual fuck does your average denizen of Port Royale think of the humble Moogle? They're shopkeepers that operate through holograms and that's weird.
So we have established that the World Order is bullshit and discarded for good reason. Let's move back to my main point.
Final Evidence: Worlds are Bigger than Seen in Game
This is kinda a given and more than a little obvious, but I thought it worth highlighting. We can't land on the streets of London when we visit in KH1, we see more jungle in Deep Jungle but again, can't go that way. Twilight Town apparently has access to a beach that we straight up never see. We don't go through the Imperial City in the Land of Dragons to get to the Imperial Palace, despite it being visible from the mountains and checkpoint. Scala ad Caelum has a bunch of areas we don't get to explore, even in ReMind... you get the picture. I'm not using that to dig at the games; they're games at the end of the day, and a 1:1 recreation of a realistic setting or areas that don't have anything going on aren't fun to anyone but people like me who enjoy verisimilitude, but even I say that there's a point where it becomes completely redundant and not fun. I'll fill in the blanks myself because it's fun to me, but I don't expect a game not about simulation to do it.
I bring this up to highlight that it's impossible to say if the London we see at the Clocktower in Neverland is all there is to that world, or if it's more of England, or even the entire United Kingdom. Because the rules are so flimsily established and so quickly discarded within the games themselves, I'm left gesturing aggressively to an unsolvable mystery. While my personal headcanon is that each 'world' is roughly the size of a dwarf planet, I obviously don't have any evidence to back that up. It also falls apart because it doesn't answer how their suns work, because how do they have suns?
Hell, KH4 could introduce a world themed after Treasure Planet or even Star Wars, and then we're really fucked because they're in space. Do we make every world something like the Spelljammer Crystal Spheres, where each world has its own solar system but from an external viewpoint you only see the important location in that place? That'd probably be the cleanest solution, but it doesn't feel right.
Conclusion: There are no Rules, Put a Three Kingdoms Period China World in Your Fanfic so Sora can interact with Liu Bei or something
In review, it seems like there aren't any hard and fast rules for what can and can't be a world. Every major historical period for every culture under the sun and every story ever could be its own world, as evidenced by Alice's Victorian England being in the same universe as Wendy's Edwardian England. It also doesn't seem like there are as many hard boundaries between worlds if you know how to do it: Alice came to Wonderland by falling into a rabbit hole that connected the two, similar to Gates in something like old Forgotten Realms lore (or folklore but I've already leaned into old D&D lore I might as well go all the way), Beast either simped his way to Hollow Bastion or used a Corridor of Darkness, Hook's ship can just Do That with no given explanation. Hell, we don't even know how Cloud gets from Olympus to Hollow Bastion (presumably from wherever he ended up after fighting Sephy but I'm not even 100% if that's canon).
So, ignore what purists say, put anything as a world in your Kingdom Hearts fanfic and it'll fit if you handwave hard enough. It's the ultimate isekai, you don't even need to involve god-like beings. I myself have added a Sengoku Jidai world to my fanfic and no one's any the wiser /j
...I feel like a KH Musou game would fucking slap, though...
