[ 💧 🧸 ] tips for helping an insecure regressor ! !

sometimes i get super duper worried that my caregiver is uncomfortable with my regression , so i thought it’d be useful to caregivers / sitters / flips to have some tips on helping manage a self—conscious regressor !

— instead of simply reassuring them , treat them like a little / however they would like to be treated ! while reassurance can be helpful , in my opinion , actions are much more comforting

— in worse situations ( breakdowns / tantrums / etc. ) give them activities to do ! coloring pages are very nice for me , but if it’s something you can do in person together , i would recommend text—based tasks like having them tell you about their day , about their interests , anything really ! this might not seem like much , but being given little commands can help us feel very connected to being a regressor !

— similar to the previous one , give them a checklist ( this can work in person or over phone / text ) . this is a more general piece of advice , but it will help take their mind off of the worry and will help them feel accepted & taken care of !

— the most obvious one : talk about it with them . this is an easier thing to do when they are big ( not regressed ) , but having them explain , or try to explain , why they feel insecure can be very very helpful in your methods of reassuring them as well as taking some heaviness off of them ( talking does help ! )

Something something,, puppy!Glinda who’s so bouncy and energetic and sweet. Barking n yipping when she wants to play n bringing her toys to Elphaba,, resting her chin in the other girl’s lap to get her attention and whining when it doesn’t work. Roughhousing with Fiyero becuz she’s got so much energy n she’s wagging her tail the whole time.

Learning to be gentle,, her chew toys n clothes r ripping and she brings them to Elphaba with a whimper every time,, waiting for her mama to sew them back up with big ol’ eyes. laying down on the comfiest carpet ever in your room , a pile of books in your tiny little hands as you’re waiting patiently for your cg to join you

they come in with a snack plate of your favorite treats and a bottle filled with your favorite drink , placing them down carefully in front of you

“what books did you want to read?” Your cg asks warmly as they sit down next to you

you excitedly show them your batch of books and point to your favorite

“this one this one !!”

the two of you spend the rest of the late evening reading your favorite book and re enacting scenes with the stuffies / figures scattered around your room -

and of course enjoying the tasty treats your cg brought for you hehe ^^

New to "age regression" and "pet regression"

These terms are completely new to me and it’s fascinating learning about them. I don’t know if I age regress but I am incontinent in diapers and when my mom or dad change me cause I can’t myself, I am met with lots of tickles, hugs, nicknames, kisses, and I usually enjoy myself. I watch nearly exclusively preschool television and I consider it visual stimming material. I feel like a little kid and a grown adult at the same time existing in the same body living the same life, so I don’t know if that’s regression it’s just me. I want to explore this deeper. I have cute chewy necklaces and baby teething toys I hyper fixate on too. My parents do "baby" me sure but they respect my intelligence and wants when they do it so I DO NOT consider it infantilization in a negative way.

Pet regression is interesting too. I was a big time eloper till and throughout middle school, I was a harness and leash kid till I outgrew most models. I never realized people judge parents for using them so hard back then. My mom or dad to this day take me on walks at sunset unless I really don’t feel like going and as a kid that meant I would be on leash during walks. I don’t know why but I loved the harness and would always pretend play as a puppy or fox. I never felt restricted with it on, I felt safe and loved and super connected with my parents in a good way. When I outgrew most harness models I cried and didn’t want to walk with my parents for a month but came around. My imagination games on walks had to change but they were still and still are very animal related.

It seems like there is a bit over lap between regressers and high support needs autistics on this website, it makes total sense to me based on my life and I am excited to engage with these communities further and learn about myself.

puppy ! lottie matthews headcanons !!

requested by anon ! eeee this request came at the perfect time i was thinking of doing them whether requested or not. puppyjackets takeover !! lottie is me i am her so of course puppy headcanons were bound to come (｡ >艸<) i apologize that these are late i've been quite busy since the start of the new year and also have been struggling with burnout. i hope you're still puppyjackets brainrotted anon ( tehe ). not proofread so apologies for any mistakes. puppyjackets masterlist here ( includes link to full yj masterlist ) , upcoming list here

puppy ! lottie who can’t stand being alone always tailing someone like a shadow. she’s quiet , often times startling jackie on her hike for water or nat bundling up to go hunting. nat will jump back with a start , hand going straight over his heart like he’s checking that it’s still beating. ��jesus christ , lot. you scared me !” lottie will hang her head shamefully and nat will reach out and pet her , chuckling. “you wanna tag along again , huh ?” lottie nods looking up at him with pleading eyes. “okay , but stay close , ‘kay ?” cue the sound of her tail thumping happily against the floor.

lottie loves affection , namely head pats , scratches , and pets. she often nuzzles her friends when she's particularly regressed or if she sees one of her teammates is feeling sad. she'll often whine if a teammate is noticeably upset , nosing them until they pet her.

lottie's not a big barker when she's upset , she's typically mute when in a bad headspace whether regressed or not but when she's particularly excited or feeling more energetic than usual she loves to bark ! she'll often paw at nat or laura lee to get their attention when she's in a better mood , opting for isolation when she's feeling upset.

laura will gasp when lottie paws at her. "what's that , pup ?" lottie will sit back , head cocked in confusion. what's what ? laura giggles. "i mean what is it , pup ? what's the matter ?" lottie will sit there unspeaking , panting with her tongue lolling out of her mouth. there's nothing the matter she just wanted laura's attention. laura lee will coo , scruffing lottie's head. "aww , such a cutie. just wanted to visit , hmm ?" lottie nods happily , opting to lay at laura's feet if the other girl is busy.

lottie who bites when upset , or is feeling threatened in any capacity. if someone is to get too close to lottie when she's feeling triggered especially while puppy regressed her response is to bite and she tends to bite hard. lottie who latches on and won't let go until she tastes blood.

she also bites affectionately but her affectionate bites are more harmless nibbles , or perhaps her chewing on laura or nat's fingers absentmindedly.

puppy lot loves to swim !! she doggypaddles around , yipping at the birds above contentedly. she likes when laura lee watches her , she'll tell her what a great swimmer she is !! lottie could swim for hours if she was allowed though laura makes her get out after an hour or so when her baby starts to shiver. she'll pat her knee expectantly and lottie will come obediently trotting out of the water to her mama , shaking herself wildly like a real pup would. laura lee giggles trying to shield herself from the droplets in vain , toweling her puppy off and giving her lots of kisses.

lottie's a padded pup , though she's often trouble when she needs a change. laura lee will come over to check on an abnormally squirmy lottie. "does somebody have to go potty ?" lottie will firmly deny it for as long as she can , running away from laura when she can't deny it any longer. she may throw tantrums , howling up a storm or burst into tears , feeling overwhelmed or cornered. laura always knows how to calm her down and is extremely patient with her. when she's baby regressed she's much calmer , tending to simply become more clingy and shy when she needs a change but puppy lottie is a feisty girl.

lottie is a biiiig chewer. she tends to chew on old bones , wagging her tail as she munches away on the floor. she'll curl up by the fire a bone in her mouth , gnawing loudly on it. mari will complain about the noise. "oh lay off , she's fine , aren't ya , girl ?" nat will defend her , scratching her behind the ear. lottie will yip in response , tail thumping against the floor as she continues to chew. if mari continues to complain lottie will "accidentally" chew on one of mari's shoes , or roll herself up in one of her blankets after playing in the mud.

silly puppy loves the outdoors ! she loves the snow , rolling around in it , barking at the falling flakes trying to catch them on her tongue. she'll drink from puddles and roll around in them , often loudly crashing through the woods as she tries to chase a squirrel. despite her typically being fairly quiet when she's on the hunt for a squirrel or rabbit you can hear her coming from a mile away.
