@personnages : Lucy Lauren & Peter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Glancing around the room, Lauren laid down on the bed, pulling her knees to her chest. She still couldn't quite believe that this was happening. That this was how it all ended. After the long journey from Narnia to London, after all the learning and distant hazy memories she'd struggled with, she was so close to finding out the truth...
Was she Lauren, the lonely orphan found near death on the side of the road? Or was she Lucy, the golden princess beloved by that distant seaside kingdom she might never again see? There was only one man who could tell her. But now she'd never know.
If she really was Lucy, then this was the brother she loved best. The one she would have been seeing for the first time in ten years... She'd only been 13 at the time of the massacre. And now, she was a grown woman, having spent nearly as much time without him as she had with him. But they'd never even gotten through the door. Peter's manservant had turned them away after going inside. And with that rejection, all her hopes went up in smoke. Smoke just as thick and acrid as what she tasted every time she closed her eyes.
But before she could let loose even a single tear, the door behind her creaked open. Turning her hollow, sunken eyes toward it, she gasped and quickly jumped to her feet; righting her dress and giving a small curtsy, just as she'd been taught.
"Your Majesty... I... I wasn't expecting..."

" - The boss isn't in, huh?" Makes a face as she LOOKS about, the smooth porcelain wine jar stoppered with crimson cloth hanging off her arm swinging slightly with the movement. "...BUMMER. Was hoping I'd catch him for some - villainous afternoon tea or something." If afternoon tea consists of wine anyway. Not that her new friend - as she likes to think of it - would care for the difference. If one was to ask her a few centuries ago - well, she'd have nothing in common with this particular acquaintance. But there's something about being known as universal CALAMITIES that draws people together. Well - for her anyway. "...But you'll do." She's only looking for company for a little while anyway. Finds a place to sit and pulls off the stopper - pouring clear liquid into two little cups - warms the wine with a flick of fingers. Being a phoenix is handier than being a sparrow, in SOME aspects. "I brought some cake on the way in too, so even if you don't want to drink on duty..."

Elegant fingers brushed over silken flower petals, the fragrance tickling her nose. Retracting her hand, she looked over her shoulder at the watcher.
Over the years, she'd become sensitive to eyes on her that wasn't an assigned guard. Blame Xiao Yan and his tendencies to watch her in youth. Always watching her with those starry eyes of his that now made her smile to herself, because he had always deserved someone who matched his personality.
"What is it, Shang.que?" she turned, now speaking to the young man watching her.

a   starter   for @personnages !

everyday was an exciting day at the opéra garnier, even the days that were filled with hours of rehearsal with madame giry until her feet were sore. today was one of those days with a few upticks, the new managers had interrupted their rehearsals on their tour of the facilities resulting in everyone tripping over themselves to impress. the next came when madame giry let it slip who the new patron would be, the viscount raoul de chagny! the name was met with giggles and swoons from the others while the pleasant smile upon josephine’s visage dropped with recognition. the very name she had successfully run from for a little over three years! her stomach turned at the thought of being found out. the poor little rich girl masquerading as a penniless chorus girl! surely, he would recognize her and drag her back home at once. suddenly, josephine is swept into the gaggle of ballerinas plastering a false smile to hide her anxiety. perhaps if she did her makeup differently! or wore her hair in an unusual way, he wouldn’t recognize her.
a moment later, such excitement morphed into chaos. with a loud crash, a set piece came tumbling from the rafters nearly hitting signora carlotta. he's here! the phantom of the opera! the girls exclaimed. this sends the prima donna (and subsequently everyone else around her) into a frenzy. soon enough, carlotta is refusing to perform and the new managers are left without a star and no understudy. that is, until meg giry suggests that christine daae could sing the part. much to everyone’s relief, the suggestion proves to be a splendid one! the show was a success and christine was just wonderful. and on a more personal note, it seemed that the new patron hadn't recognized his twin sister. yet
josephine had been tasked with delivering yet another congratulatory bouquet to christine's dressing room—— a welcomed break from the hours of post-show practice ——a fragrant arrangement of pink roses that was nearly as big as her which takes two arms to hold up. the girl is admittedly on edge as she navigated the halls of the opera house to the dressing room; who knows what access their new patron had been given? the last thing she needed was to be found out after such a successful night of hiding. just as she is about to approach the door, it suddenly swings open and who else but the very person she is hoping to avoid comes bursting through. thoroughly startled, the chorus girl stumbles over her own feet before plummeting to the ground.
