there's no full body render of the sr cards because they're actually knee up in the files! i can upload those instead if you want?

edit : oh there's actually a full body version for the character selections! but there's no individual version, sadly. all of them are separated by house

#listened to a podcast on commonplace books last night and realized that many people do not actually use...a book #which was perhaps something of an obvious revelation but it remains revelatory to me #two of the guys in the discussion use physical note cards and one uses evernote (or did four years ago) so I thought 'huh'#'maybe I'll try evernote'#cut to me checking out four different cloud-based note-taking systems because evernote doesn't allow for nearly as much personalization #--with their free version as they used to #all that to say I then opened up The Problem of Pain to copy over the sections I've highlighted anddddd there are a lot more than I thought #the reason I really really want to get into this system is I want a way to organize my various trains of thought #so I can carry on a coherent discussion if the need arises #but also the one guy who uses the cloud-based system also has a whole section of his commonplace dedicated to quotes from friends and famil #which 1) reminded me of Kate always keeping a quote book for her various trips #and 2) reminded me of all of the quotes I've saved over the years from friends #it's just a fun little detail #and FINALLY while discussing this they mentioned a student who received glowing feedback on an assignment and told her friend she was--#putting it in her 'flex book' -- AKA the book of things she can look at when she wants to flex on herself #which I think a lot of us creatives especially can benefit from #(I have a little collection of kind feedback I've received on my writing)#(which has come in handy lately)#so! I am once again attempting to compile a commonplace book #and telling myself as I go that there's no harm in not having started this ten years ago and I will in fact survive #if you made it this far I love you and please be sure you're drinking enough water

I actually have a fic idea but lc is a show that's like. you will never ever have all the information and context until the end. and I am a writer who writes best and more confidently when I have all the info and context at my fingertips. so now I'm just like 🧍‍♂️

#mine musings #not tagging etc etc #it's an AU so it shouldn't even matter actually. but. whatever. i'll still try to write it. it'll take a while #it's more like character exploration anyway. a role reversal (my favorite kind of au)#i.e. what would the emma case look like if cxs is the one who keeps timelooping to save lg?#it's not a power swap or personality swap so i think it'll be an interesting exploration of the limits of their personalities #for example: in this au i think lg is still protective of cxs and acts as the guide. but he's closer to og!timeline lg #so i'm thinking that he's still very principled but perhaps less strict about doing small deviations from the timeline #cxs is still empathetic and reckless and i think that would actually get worse in a timelooping cxs #since he's the possessor he rationalizes to himself that he gets to shield lg from the messy parts of an operation #and how this self-matyrdom pulls at the fragile trust they have. because their partnership is never equal when someone is timelooping #i'm thinking in like the emma case this all comes to a head when emma gets the text from her parents #in S1 lg tells him “it's better not to look”#i think in this au. cxs would have already honed his acting skills and be like “lg. does she check the phone?”#and lg who is protective but a little naive and not as strict with rules is like #cxs looks so sad :( he's been missing his parents lately :( emma doesn't see the text until tomorrow but...#this probably won't change the timeline too much... right? i think cxs needs to feel loved right now :) “yes she checks her phone”#and cxs is like “... are you sure?”#lg: “yes i'm sure”#and then post-dive cxs finds out emma dies but he doesn't tell lg :) he just keeps it to himself :)#bc it's his job to handle all the messy parts :) like the emotions of their clients. their regrets and obsessions. their fates #in his mind. the more lg knows the more he tries to sacrifice himself to save cxs. so it's important that lg is kept in the dark #something something actor/scriptwriter metaphors idk still working on the idea #just. role reversal shiguang... cxs who keeps timelooping bc he has abandonment issues so he can't handle lg dying...#lg basically is like 9S from nier automata who always dooms himself by learning the truth #this could've been a read more instead of a tag essay i'm sorry. i keep forgetting that feature. i am a yapper in the tags #cxs after dragging lg out for dinner so he doesn't catch the news: “hey lg. we followed the script to a tee right?”#“i didn't forget any lines or anything?”#lg (confused) (lying): “yes. aside from getting the financial data part. we did everything right.”#cxs: “okay 😊 i trust you 😊 past or future let them be”

I've yet to find another site that can give you the same feeling as a Wattpad fic with a beautifully/expertly edited cover and the worst first chapter you've ever seen so far.

#Like thank you for this work of art of a cover but I think you should kinda put more work on the text /lh #This is so common with fics from 2016 Wattpad #Like people were working their asses off in Photopea/Photoshop/PicArt/IbisPaint/whatever they could get their hands on #So you'd see fics with amazing covers and think ❝Oh this fic looks high effort ; I'll check it out ❢❞#and then face the clunkiest most draining prologue/1st chapter you had seen so far #I remember that some people had cover commissions or requests too #so perhaps not all those writers made their cool ass covers themselves (one of my old fics' cover was drawn by a Wattpad mutual/friend sooo)#I can't say it was a nice experience but after a few years you start to miss even the most annoying shit #nostalgia is a bitch. #just me hi #though canopeners need to stop being deadly weapons to some degree before that hfhs #'they're not deadly tho ?' well usually yes. but did you know that they can age Badly? i did not!#and the one I was using was dulled to an extent that it would Skip over a part of the can #(nearly the same spot every time lol) and when I thought I'd managed to fool it and had only #the tiniest bit of metal between me and some beans (pretty sure it was beans) I thought #'ohh I'll just pull up the can lid :)' Well the lid snapped off completely towards and Into my hand #and I had a bean-can wound on my pinky for about a week or so. I do not know how long it's been lol #//but soup cans are pretty cool I feel like they're kinda underappreciated !!#you can just have Soup ? Whenever ??? and it's Normal !! wow :D #sure making soup is pretty great. but that's a process man. and we're not even associates #[<- 'a process I am (not) intimate with']#like there is a little can of menudo in the pantry rn - medunito they call it isn't that just !! - and it's just there. it can be made in #like 10 minutes. is this Not the best thing ever ! ?#//I've also gotta figure out this sleeping thing that I've got going on (everybody has it going on)#I was maybe half a week into actually have a consistent thing going but the night I stopped was bc I am a sucker of a storyteller and we #were up til about. I think 4-6 a.m.#that's on me yes. my siblings vs. my desire to tell stories and rubber willpower hfbdh #a deadly match truly #and also I lost my snoopy watch (RIP snoopy watch you will be missed (I can't find it send help Waough)) and that was the only clock I had #in this room so now if I wanna know the time I have to go the living room - which is like a whole dang thing lemme tell you about it #/first I've gotta get up - easiest thing by far - and get to the door - assuming I don't get KO'd by my siblings' belongings on the floor -#get to the door. the door Is broken to some extent. opening it means a loud THDPD noise is sent throughout the entire house lol. and you #have to yank on the thing to get it open - so double effort there - and then you step out into the hallwayish area where you can then enter #the living room - oh so easy! but No! you then have to either turn on the kitchen lights and wake everyone with their door open or sleeping #in the living room for whatever reason Orrr you have to clamber over chairs pots perhaps a cat if you've got real bad luck that night to ge #up nice n personal to the clock so you can read the dang thing and see it's 11:23. which is like nothing so you stay up Anyway and do not #check the clock again because not only was that a hassle but also you released every creature that was in the room with you (that's a lot o #noise). but Yea the clock situation is ongoing hfbsh #'why don't you get a clock' that would be much too easy loll :) (last one disappeared and we keep forgetting lol) //ran out of tag space so

#one side of my headphones stopped working so i was forced to order things for myself again #i'd been putting this off i knew this pair was not long for this world #but i didn't want to spend money on myself for something so frivolous as *checks notes* thing i need to maintain sanity #so i waited until they cut out and then had to wait a whole bunch because i didn't want to spend money on shipping #but tomorrow should be pakige time #unless they get a wild hair up their butts about it and decide to get it on a truck this afternoon #but definitely tomorrow pakidge #i actually got 2 types of headphones #because free shipping + i wear earbuds for especially sleeping but in general i tend to favor them #but i have really liked over-ear headphones so i got a pair that can also Become Wireless in that the wire is exchangable (i think)#so i am hoping that means i will then have over ear headphones i can wear to muffle sound and help me when my ears require it #that i can also wear at the computer #the reviews weren't *great* for the over-ears but like. so long as they sit comfortably on my head i'm okay with having bought the cheap on #cause they will at MINIMUM do the mufflesounds and that's the key thing #i am very bad at buying Things for myself #frankly this has been a banner year for me Purchasing Delights specifically over the past like #month or two #and it's all been Necessary Items and things but also it's just very difficult #when it's just fun stuff #idk i'm... having the slow and gentle realization that perhaps doing nice things for myself isn't a bad thing actually #and that sometimes it's kind of important to get things you'll like just cause you like them or want them #eventually i'll figure out how to Want Things and then it's OVER for you bitches #(you bitches being my wallet)

considering making a post about how horatio is... used? accounted for? in the productions of r&g are dead that i've watched and listened to cause 3/4 (not counting the movie) have, as almost certainly unintentional consequences of their choices, gotten me thinking about that one post i made and frothing at the mouth a bit, in different ways

#not today cause i'm sleepy but. perhaps tomorrow (as a distraction from the work i actually have to do)#ragad #rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead #the ones i'm thinking of specifically are:#ntl (2017) having their horatio be double-cast as a silent extra in the background of some scenes with r&g talking to the king & queen #players' ring having the Player play horatio at the ending #and the 2007 radio drama having hamlet read out his letter to horatio during the pirate attack (to help explain what's happening)#but then cutting his lines at the end entirely #and ALSO cutting “he that thou knowest thine” from the letter. which... i'll save my thoughts for the post #UPDATE: i just looked on internet archive for the original radio play production from 1978 to see if it did the same as the 2007 one #and it basically does re: the letter #(including cutting ''he that thou knowest thine'' - though i think now i get why (why in the not brain-rotty sense that is))#but it does basically the whole ending bit of hamlet starting from some of the prince's last lines #so horatio does get to be the one who closes it out #i doubt he shows up any earlier - based on the credits he's not doubled with anyone - and i'm not checking to find out
