Tips for Booking a Romantic Villa in Italy
Book in Advance
Italy is a popular destination for romantic getaways, and the best villas can book up quickly, especially during peak seasons. To ensure you get the villa of your dreams, it’s advisable to book well in advance. Early booking also often provides better rates and more availability.
Consider the Location
Italy offers a diverse range of romantic destinations, each with its unique charm. Whether you prefer the rolling hills of Tuscany, the dramatic coastline of the Amalfi Coast, the serene lakes of Lombardy, or the historic towns of Umbria, consider what type of setting best suits your romantic escape. Each region offers different experiences, from wine tasting and cooking classes to sailing and sightseeing.
Check the Amenities
When choosing a perfect romantic villa in Italy, ensure it has the amenities that will make your stay special. Look for features such as private pools, beautiful gardens, panoramic views, and personalized services. Read descriptions carefully and check photos to make sure the villa meets your expectations.
Read Reviews
Reading reviews from previous guests can provide valuable insights into the villa’s quality and the experiences of other couples. Look for reviews that mention the villa’s atmosphere, amenities, and service to get a sense of what to expect.
Plan Romantic Activities
To make your stay even more special, plan some romantic activities in advance. Consider arranging a private dinner, a couples’ massage, a hot air balloon ride, or a sunset cruise. Many villas offer concierge services that can help you arrange these experiences.
Making the Most of Your Romantic Villa Stay
Savor the Moment
A romantic villa stay in Italy is a chance to disconnect from the outside world and focus on each other. Take time to savor each moment, whether you’re enjoying a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, taking a dip in the pool, or simply relaxing in each other’s company.
Explore the Surroundings
While the villa itself provides a beautiful retreat, exploring the local area can add to your romantic experience. Visit nearby towns and villages, enjoy local cuisine, and immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the region. Many villas are conveniently located near attractions such as vineyards, historic sites, and scenic viewpoints.
Indulge in Local Cuisine
Italian cuisine is renowned for its flavor and variety, and your romantic villa stay is an excellent opportunity to indulge. Whether you hire a private chef, take a cooking class, or dine at local restaurants, make sure to savor the delicious food and wine of the region.
Capture the Memories
Your romantic getaway in Italy is an experience you’ll want to remember forever. Take plenty of photos to capture the beautiful moments and stunning scenery. Consider hiring a professional photographer for a photoshoot to commemorate your trip.
Relax and Reconnect
Above all, use your time at the villa to relax and reconnect with your partner. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of your surroundings, pamper yourselves with luxurious amenities, and take the time to appreciate each other’s company.
Conclusion
A perfect romantic villa in Italy offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable getaway with your loved one. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the stunning Amalfi Coast, Italy’s romantic villas provide luxurious accommodations, breathtaking views, and personalized experiences that make for a truly special trip. By choosing the right villa, planning your stay carefully, and making the most of the local culture and cuisine, you can create memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, honeymoon, or simply taking time to reconnect, a romantic villa in Italy is the ultimate escape for couples in love.

── ୨୧ 𝓹airing : Mat barzal x f!Leclerc f1 driver (oc) x Quinn Hughes
Mat is the one who plans the trip and he refuses any help from Julie or Quinn, wanting to surprise them with everything. He organized the plane tickets, rented a beautiful villa for them and everything.
He’s had the idea of the three of them going to Italy together for a long time, it just took a while for the perfect opportunity for them to actually go.
When they first get to the villa, they all have ideas on what they want to do first, Julie wants to unpack, mat wants to go explore, and Quinn wants to take a nap. Quinn ends up convincing Julie to take a nap with him, then both of them drag Mat to join them, promising to explore after they get some rest.
After their much-needed nap, they shared a quick shower and got ready to explore the lovely town and go out for dinner. They walked the streets together, fingers locked. Julie and Quinn both smiling at how excited mat was.
After some exploring and shopping, they find a restaurant where they have a wonderful candle lit dinner, shared with many glasses of wine. After dinner they made their way back to the villa, cuddling on the couch on one of the many balconies, watching the stars.
Mat has a packed itinerary for them, they are doing new things every day, with a ton of exploring.
They spend a lot of time by the water, either it being the sea or the pool at their villa. Julie likes to lay and suntan while she watches mat and Quinn mess around in the water, feeling nothing but relaxed, but that peacefulness is always broken when one of the boys is grabbing her and tossing her into the pool to join them.
They spend hours in the pool, and it always leads to mat and Quinn taking a nap while Julie starts on lunch, loving to cook authentic Italian dishes, using the cookbook that was in the kitchen.
Mat rents them a boat -- honestly it was more like a yacht . . . he likes to spoil them. They have lunch and dinner on the boat, spinning the day and night out on the boat, swimming in the water, cuddling on the love seat on the deck.
the whole trip they are off their phones, taking a very much needed break from everything. They always do their daily chickens with their parents to let them know they are okay but other than that their phones are put away.
Julie is fluent in Italian, so they don't need their phone for a translation, and mat knows his way around, so they don't need their phones for a map, and if they do need a map, they use a paper one.
Julie had brought her camera so they all took turns taking pictures, the camera was always with them, taking every chance they could to take a picture.
Vacations like these were always so healing for them, not just as people but also for their relationship. It's a time where they don't have to worry about any of their responsibilities and they only need to focus on each other and the love they share.
Mat loves taking them to hidden gems of Italy, and all the places that aren't so busy. They love learning more about the culture.
They honestly just spend a day of their trip just exploring different shops, buying gifts for their friends and family and of course for each other.
they definitely are a lot more touchy and clingy with each other, knowing that when the vacation ends they have to get back to their busy schedules.
Mat and Quinn secretly plan a romantic evening for them and julie, renting out a small restaurant to have a romantic dinner, then they take a small stroll in the moonlight before making their way back to the villa where their bedroom was filled with roses and candles.
they really don't want to leave, but they know they have to. On the flight back home they are mostly sleeping for the whole flight, tired from their amazing vacation. And Mat is already planning their next vacation!

With this Ring
read my other work here!
pairing: Harry Styles x plus size reader
word count: 1.1k
summary: Harry takes his commitment to you to a new level.
a/n: watching everyone go nuts over that tattoo reminded me of a Harry head canon that i've been sitting on, and i felt like this would be a great time to put it out there. this story takes place in the NYIML timeline, but that story is so far from a wedding, so they'll get their proper wedding eventually. just act surprised when this happens again at some point, eventually.

You study Harry’s expression as he examines the selection of rings in front of him. He doesn’t seem particularly taken by any of them, and you’re pretty sure you know why.
In just a few weeks, you and Harry are finally getting married. A quiet celebration with your closest family and friends at your villa in Italy. Today, you were selecting your wedding bands. Yours was an easy choice, you selected a simple, understated white gold band that complimented your engagement ring perfectly. Harry however, was having a more difficult time making a decision.
Harry already had an extensive collection of rings. A large gold ‘H’ usually occupies his left ring finger, but he was looking at simple gold bands to replace it, for you. You knew he would never complain, or say anything to you about it, but you were sure that a part of him wasn't thrilled about the change.
“Harry?” You get his attention when the jeweler steps out back to grab some more options. Your fiance looks up at you and hums in response. “You don’t have to get a wedding ring, you know.”
Harry furrows his brow. “What do you mean? We’re getting married, of course I do.” He reaches out, placing his hand over yours.
“You already have a ring for that finger. Besides, you don’t need to wear a piece of jewelry to prove that you're mine. It’s an antiquated tradition.” You shrug.
“Ha!” Harry’s hands quickly covered his mouth at the bark of laughter that escaped him. “Sorry,” he said sheepishly. “Baby, I’ve never seen someone plan a more traditional wedding, and now you’re telling me that one of the main components is antiquated?”
“I just want you to be happy, and I feel like one of these boring basic bands wouldn’t do that.”
“Princess,” he takes your face in his hands, looking deep into your eyes. “You make me happy, and I can’t wait to be your husband and show the whole world I belong to you. If I could tattoo ‘property of Y/N’ across my forehead without looking completely insane, I would do it in a heartbeat.” He pulled your face to his, as the two of you kissed, it was as if a lightbulb went off in his head. He knew the perfect solution.
***
“I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride.” The officiant announced as Harry pulled you into him, dropping his lips down to meet yours in a passionate kiss as your friends and family cheered.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, for the first time ever, Mister and Misses Harry Styles!” The two of you turned, facing the crowd, Harry raising your joined hands in the air victoriously as you made your way down the aisle with the italian sunset setting the most romantic backdrop you could have possibly dreamed of.
The two of you stepped back into your villa, Harry tugging your arm and pressing you against the wall. “My wife,” he sighed happily before crashing his lips against yours. He pulled back, resting his hand on the side of your neck, brushing your cheek with his thumb. “My beautiful wife. I love you so much.”
“I love you too, husband.” You giggle, pulling his left hand to your mouth and kissing the simple gold band that now adorned his left ring finger. “Are you sure you’re okay with this?” You asked. He gave you a mischievous smirk, and you furrowed your brow. “What?”
“I may have had an idea after our talk at the jewelry store.” He chuckled at your curious expression. “Come with me, Mrs. Styles.”
He took you by the hand and led you to the bridal suite area. When you stepped inside, there was a table, wrapped in plastic with a chair on either side, and a large man setting up supplies.
“Harry?” You asked curiously.
He smiled at you, kissing the wrinkle that formed between your eyebrows. “I thought about what you said, about how I already had rings, and you didn’t want me to have to give them up. I figured out a way that I could have both. I’m going to have your name tattooed around my ring finger.” He announced proudly. “That way, I have my wedding ring on all the time, even if I’m wearing my H.”
Your eyes start to water as you take in his words. He studies your face, worry creeping into his expression. “Are you… is that okay?”
You throw yourself into his arms, burying your face in the crook of his neck. “Baby, that’s amazing. Are you sure? A tattoo is a forever thing.”
Harry chuckles, pulling you back so he can look you in the eyes. “So are we, princess. Remember like five minutes ago when we got married?” He wiped a stray tear off your cheek.
“Yeah of course,” you say with a light laugh.
“C’mon,” he tugs on your hand and brings you over to the table. “I want my wife with me while I do this.”
He takes a seat at the table, pulling you onto his lap as he lays his left hand onto the table. The tattoo artist confirms that Harry is ready before dipping the tattoo pen in the ink and begins to write your name in small letters across Harry’s finger as your wedding photographer takes pictures, her assistant shooting a video of the moment. Your eyes travel from Harry’s face to the work being done on his finger. His eyes meet yours and he puckers his lips, you lean in to kiss him softly.
“Are you… does it hurt? It seems like that would be a painful spot.”
“Nothing hurts with you by my side.” He smiled, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder.
“Ugh,” you groaned. “So corny. But I guess I can let it slide today. I mean, you are getting my name permanently etched on your body.”
“My wife is so merciful,” he said, his thumb absentmindedly running across your hip.
After a few more minutes, the tattoo was finished and Harry held his left hand up to admire the work. You grasped his wrist and moved it in front of your face. “Hmm… that’s not how you spell my name.”
“What?!” Harry pulled his hand out of your grip and held it up close to his eyes. “Wait, yes it is.”
“I know, I was just messing with you.” You laughed. “It’s perfect Harry, I love it.”
“And I love you, my wife.”
“I love you too, husband.”

Friends, lovers… and an orange | Epilogue
Author's note: And we've made it to the end! 😞 I must confess I was very insecure about this story when I started posting it and I still kind of am, I know it isn't one of my bests 😅 So the fact that you guys have read it and supported it, means a lot more than usual. I hope you like this last chapter (it finally explains what the orange on the title means 😅), and again, thank you very much for reading 💜

A few years later…
“Mase, we are gonna be late for dinner.”
“We won't. C'mon.”
“Can we at least walk a bit slower? You know heels aren't my thing, and on grass…”
“Then grab my arm. But c'mon, Addie. I don't want us to miss the sunset.”
“It's just the sunset, Mase” she chuckled as they continued walking through the gardens of their Italian villa. Because after all the summers they had spent there, and all the things they had lived and that had made it feel like it was their second home, Mason and Adele had decided to buy it.
“Today is your birthday, Addie. Everything about it is special.”
“I see… Is that the reason why you've made us all dress so fancy tonight?”
“Exactly. Only the best for the woman I love” Mason smiled, his dimple showing.
The previous year they had celebrated Adele's birthday at the beach with a big barbecue, their friends and families wearing just their swimsuits. But this year, for whatever the reason, Mason had been super picky and planned everything for everyone to the point that he had made a schedule with all the things they were going to do throughout the day. He had even booked a day just for Adele, their mums, Jourdan and Rianne, where they had gone to a spa and then to shop their outfits for the big day.
“Ok, so, umm…” Mason said when they made it to the spot he had chosen for them to watch the sunset. “Remember when I came to Italy to shoot my perfume campaign?”
“How to forget the perfume that started it all” she chuckled.
“Yeah” he smiled. “Well, half of the team was Spanish, and during lunch time we were talking about relationships and things like that, and one guy explained that in Spain to say that you've found your other half, you say you've found your media naranja.”
“Your what?” she laughed.
“My Spanish sucks, ok? Don't make fun of me” he replied, sticking out his tongue. “The literal translation would be to find your half an orange.”
“That's… weird.”
“It actually isn't. You are half an orange, and someone else is the other half of that orange. When you meet and get together, you make an orange, you complete the other. And that reminded me of us.”
“Are you calling me half an orange?”
“Addie…” he sighed. “I'm trying to be romantic and you are making fun of me.”
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please continue.”
“Oranges have always been important to us. Our first kiss was under this very same orange tree. A perfume that smelled like oranges got us into a mess that led us to getting closer and to you falling in love with me. And it was here again, under this tree, where I confessed my feelings for you, which also led us to finally being together.”
“Yeah, finally” she smiled.
“So yes, Addie” Mason said, taking her hands on his. “You are half an orange. My half an orange. And together we make the most perfect one, an orange that was always destined to be made of those two halfs, of you and I. Of us together. Like you once said years ago, we are soulmates.”
“We are” she smiled.
“And because you are my soulmate, my media naranja” he said with his bad Spanish, making her laugh while letting go of her hands and getting on one knee. “Adele Antonia Turlington, would you marry me?”
“Mase” she gasped when she saw the little box on his hand, the most beautiful ring inside it. “Mase I… I… Yes.”
“Yes?” he asked, his smile growing bigger by the second, his dimples showing in all their glory.
“Yes” she repeated, tears already rolling down her cheeks. “Yes and a million times yes. I love you, Mason” she said after he stood up and put the ring on her finger. “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
“I think you are gonna have to say it again, I didn't hear you” he smirked, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“I love you, Mason. My soulmate, my half an orange, my everything.”
“I love you too, Addie” he smiled before kissing her, cheers and clapping being heard somewhere.
“What… what was that?” Adele asked.
“That has to be our family and friends.”
“What?”
“They were watching” Mason said.
“What?” she repeated, this time louder.
“I wanted to remember this moment, so I asked them to hide and film it and take photos.”
“Aww, Mase.”
“Cute, uh?” he smirked. “But there is more.”
“More?”
“More” he smiled before taking the hand where her new ring was shining and starting to walk towards where the voices had come from.
“Mase, what… What is all this?” Adele asked him.
“Our wedding.”
“Our what?”
“I know we just literally got engaged, but I don't want to wait, Addie. I want to marry you and make it official in front of everyone we love that I want to spend the rest of my life with you as your husband.”
“You… what… I…” she mumbled, looking from Mason to where their parents, their brothers, and some of their closest friends, like Jourdan and Rianne, were waiting for them.
But they weren't the only thing that was making Adele's eyes be about to pop from their sockets. They were standing next to an arch made with white flowers and orange details, the sea and the town nearby being perfectly framed behind it. It was simple, but stunning.
“Is this the reason why you've been acting so weird this whole trip and being so annoying with your schedule? Because you were planning it all?” she asked.
“Yeah… Sorry about that” Mason said. “But I was so nervous, Addie. I wanted it all to be perfect. And I know you probably had in mind something bigger, something with more flowers and live music and…”
“I love it, Mase” Adele cut him.
“Really?”
“Yes” she nodded, trying to not start crying again.
“Then do you want to do it? Do you want to marry me?”
“I already said yes, didn't I?” she chuckled, showing him her ring.
“You did, yes” he smiled. “Shall we, then?”
“Yes” Adele smiled back.
“Ok. Then wait here, I'm gonna tell everyone” Mason said before running towards their family and friends, leaving Adele alone with her thoughts.
She was going to marry him. Him, Mason, her Mase. And she was about to do it in her favourite place in the whole wide world, the Italian villa where they had made so many memories together, the one that meant so much to them and that now was their home too.
“I believe this is for you” Luca said, meeting Adele and giving her a big bouquet of flowers that matched the ones on the arch.
“Thank you” she smiled. “But shouldn't be dad the one walking me to the altar?”
“Love you too, sis” he replied, rolling his eyes.
“I didn't mean it like that, Luca. You know I love you and that you are my favourite little brother.”
“I am the only little brother you have, Addie.”
“Alex has always been like a little brother to me too.”
“Yeah, try to fix it now” he said, trying to look mad.
“I love you, Luca” Adele said, caressing his cheek.
“I know you do, Addie. I know” he smiled. “Anyway, should we do this? I think Mason is starting to fear you may run away.”
“I'm not running away, you idiot” she said, hitting her brother.
“Ouch!” he complained. “You do love him, don't you, sis?”
“With my whole heart” she said, looking at where Mason was standing, Toni trying to tame his hair. “But you still haven't told me why dad isn't walking me.”
“Oh, that. He's marrying you.”
“What?”
“Yeah” Luca said. “He got some kind of certificate and is legally allowed to do it. So, ready to become Adele Mount?”
“I'm not changing my last name, Luca.”
“Good” he smiled. “Then let's do this.”
“Yes” Adele said, taking the arm her brother was offering her, her heart beating so fast in her chest she felt it was going to break her ribs. And as she got closer to where Mason was, she felt it could actually happen.
“You look gorgeous, Addie” he said.
“I look the same I did five minutes ago” she chuckled.
“Are you ready, guys?” Adele's dad said, making them stop looking at each other like two idiots.
“Ready” they both said.
The ceremony didn't last long. Her dad gave a little speech, Jourdan sang one of their favourite songs (she had always been an amazing singer), and they exchanged their vows and the rings.
“And now I pronounce you husband and wife” Adele's dad said. “You may kiss the bride.”
“Finally” Mason said, wrapping his hands around her waist and making her lean back like they do in movies, all while she laughed and held onto him. “How was that for our first kiss as husband and wife?” he asked against her lips.
“Perfect” she smiled.
“Just so you know, it is going to be the first kiss of many. Because I'm gonna be kissing you for the rest of our very very long lives together… wife” he smirked, his left cheek dimple showing.
“Looking forward to it… husband” she giggled.
“I love you, Addie” he said, brushing his nose against hers.
“I love you too, Mase” she replied before kissing him again.

Jack Drury stood on the balcony of your rented villa, gazing out over the rolling hills of Tuscany, which were now bathed in the golden light of a perfect Italian sunset. The landscape stretched before him like a painting, with vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees lining the horizon. The air was warm, carrying the scents of wild rosemary and freshly baked bread, mingled with the faint saltiness of the distant Mediterranean breeze. From the village below, the hum of laughter drifted up, accompanied by the soft strumming of a guitar, giving the evening a serenade-like quality.
Italy in the summer—it was everything Jack had imagined, and somehow even more. The trip had been perfect in every way, except for the one thing that still weighed heavily on his mind: he hadn’t yet proposed.
As he stood there, trying to take it all in, a knot of anxiety tightened in his chest. He had planned this trip for months, meticulously crafting it to be the perfect backdrop for the proposal he had been dreaming of for so long. He knew it was going to be here, in this breathtaking country, that he’d ask you to be with him forever.
The ring had been tucked away in his suitcase since you both arrived, hidden in the same pocket, waiting for the moment. Every cobblestone street you walked down together, every café you sat at sipping espresso, every sunset you watched from a cliffside—all of them felt like they could have been the one. But every time, something held him back. Was it the right time? Was this the right place? What if it wasn’t perfect?
Jack glanced over at you. You were sitting just a few feet away on the balcony, your legs curled beneath you in the wicker chair, utterly absorbed in a book. The soft light of the evening illuminated your face, and the warm breeze played with your hair, causing you to tuck a loose strand behind your ear. You sipped your glass of Chianti with a peaceful smile, completely at ease. How are you so calm, while I’m a nervous wreck? he thought.
His heart swelled with love, but the fear of not getting the proposal exactly right had kept him on edge for days. He had pictured this moment so many times, but now that it was here, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had to make it perfect—for you, for them.
Tonight, though, he decided it had to happen. You’d already been in Italy for a week, exploring the Cinque Terre, getting lost in the art and magic of Florence, and winding through the countryside on your Vespa. It had been the most romantic week of his life, and yet he had hesitated every day. He was done hesitating.
"Jack?" your voice broke through his thoughts, soft and warm, pulling him back to the present. You’d closed your book and were watching him with a curious expression. "Are you alright?"
He gave you a smile, but even he could feel the nervous energy behind it. "Yeah… I’m good. Just thinking."
You stood up from your chair, walking over to join him at the balcony’s edge. Leaning against the old stone railing, you looked out at the glowing horizon. "This place," you sighed, your voice full of awe, "it’s like a dream. I don’t ever want to leave."
Jack let out a small chuckle. "Me neither." His hand slipped instinctively into his pocket, where his fingers brushed against the small velvet box. His heart raced.
This is it, he thought. The sun was sinking lower, casting a beautiful palette of pink and orange across the sky, and the entire world seemed to have paused for the two of you. The soft toll of church bells echoed from the village below, mixing with the sounds of nature settling into the evening.
"Hey," Jack said, his voice catching slightly as he turned toward you. You glanced up, eyebrows raised, your eyes filled with warmth and curiosity. You had no idea of the internal battle he was fighting.
"What is it?" you asked, a gentle smile on your lips, sensing his nerves.
He took a deep breath, feeling the small velvet box in his pocket. His heart was pounding so loudly he was sure you could hear it. Slowly, he pulled the ring from his pocket and held it behind his back for a moment. "There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you. Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time."
Your eyes widened slightly, a knowing smile starting to form. "Jack… what’s going on?"
He felt the adrenaline surge as he dropped to one knee, the small box now in full view. Your hand flew to your mouth, your eyes glistening with surprise and emotion as you realised what was happening.
"Being here with you, in this beautiful place… it’s made me realise something important," Jack began, his voice stronger now. "It doesn’t matter where we are, as long as I’m with you. I’ve known for a long time that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I can’t think of a better moment than right now to ask you…"
He opened the box, revealing the ring that had been tucked away, just waiting for this moment. "Will you marry me?"
For a moment, everything stilled. You stared at him, tears welling up in your eyes, your hands trembling as they slowly lowered from your face. The scent of lavender from the garden below filled the air, mingling with the distant hum of cicadas, the soft chatter from the village, and the distant buzz of a Vespa winding its way up the hill.
And then, a radiant smile spread across your face, lighting up the moment more than the sunset ever could. You nodded, unable to speak at first.
"Yes," you finally whispered, your voice thick with emotion. "Yes, Jack. A thousand times, yes."
Jack felt a flood of relief and happiness wash over him as he slipped the ring onto your finger. Standing, he pulled you into his arms, and you kissed him, your lips warm and full of love. It was more perfect than any sunset, more magical than any Italian countryside scene he could’ve imagined.
As you stood there, wrapped in each other’s embrace, the world seemed to blur around you. The nerves, the second-guessing, the fear of not finding the right moment—all of it disappeared. The truth was, there had never been a perfect moment to propose.
Until now.
With the sun sinking behind you, casting a final golden glow over the Tuscan hills, Jack realised this—this love, this life, this us—was the perfect moment he had been waiting for all along.

The crowd had been electric all night, and Danny played his heart out for them, taking extra care during his drum solo to leave them satisfied. As he stood on the platform with his three brothers, arms around one another and taking their final bow, he had a moment where he couldn’t believe that this was his life. Playing sold out arenas and stadiums, making music he loved and seeing the world. It was a dream come true.
Taking one last bow, Danny followed Sam off stage, his adrenaline still pumping. They spoke excitedly about the fans and the little mistakes and improvements they could make for the next show, and Danny nearly missed the excited squeal coming from the hallway as they turned towards the greenroom.
“That was amazing!” you ran towards him leaping into his sore, tired arms. Another dream come true for Danny, who had envisioned a moment just like this so long ago. “Oh my gosh you sounded better than ever before baby!”
“Thanks Honey,” Danny’s lips captured yours in a kiss as he adjusted you in his arms, refusing to put you down as he walked. “It’s good to be back in action. I missed this.”
“Oh yeah, you were really missing the tour life while on your second honeymoon.” Sam rolled his eyes sarcastically. Danny finally let you down and you fell into step next to him, hand entwined with his.
“I did!” Danny protested. “I mean, not a whole lot, but I did.”
“I think you were busy with other things, darling.” you murmured, pressing a kiss to the tattoo on his bicep. Danny smirked down at you, a flash in his eyes that you were all too familiar with. You could tell he was thinking of the secluded beach villa in Italy, both of your favorite parts of the romantic vacation.. The ocean right outside your bedroom, terrace doors wide open and making love to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore, the salty breeze chilling your sweaty bodies.
Your first honeymoon had been a quick one. Danny’s touring schedule didn’t allot for much time after the wedding, so the two of you had rented a secluded cabin in the Smoky Mountains for nearly a whole week before he had to leave for tour. It was perfect in your eyes, but Danny had decided he wanted to take you somewhere special for a “real honeymoon” one day.
Your second honeymoon that was three years in the making had been a recreation of the bubble you’d been in at Olivia and Mike’s wedding nearly five years ago. Both of you enjoyed your time during the day, walking through historic towns and villages on the coast, letting the sun soak into your skin and give you both a golden tan. But as soon as your late dinners were over, it was to the bedroom, and suddenly you both couldn’t get enough of each other again.
“Hey, keep those looks to yourself mister,” you smirked up at him. “At least until we get to the hotel.” Danny leaned down, pressing a kiss to your lips before dragging them to your ear. The shiver his words sent down your spine had you itching to throw him in the dressing room and lock Sam out, all to get a taste of what the night would offer.
As you neared the rooms, you could already see Jake wandering the halls half undressed. His suit jacket had been long gone and his trousers unbuttoned, but he looked like he was on a mission to dire to care.
“There you are!” he looked relieved as he saw you. “That stupid mascara Josh talked me into is burning my eyes, and I can’t find the makeup wipes anywhere.”
“Oh god,” you sighed, reaching into your bag and pulling out a small travel packet of makeup removing wipes. You’d taken to carrying them with you since Danny loved dabbling in eyeliner, sometimes not realizing he’d smudged some onto his temples while trying to apply it. “Okay, we should probably put some drops in too.” Turning to Danny, you laid a quick kiss upon his cheek before walking over to Jake, a wipe already out and over your finger, wiping at the man’s under eyes as you both walked towards his dressing room.
Danny watched you with a smile, taking in the image of you scolding Jake as you entered his room, because he touched his eye. “Have you washed your hands since you were on stage?! I can smell the metal from your strings on them from here, and you’re touching your eyes! No wonder they’re burning!” He couldn’t lie and say there wasn’t a small amount of time he was afraid you and his best friends in the world wouldn’t get along. Josh and Sam had welcomed you in with open arms, especially Sam once he got to meet you in the flesh, the two of you hitting it off instantly. But Jake took a bit to thaw. In fact, for the first few months Danny and yourself dated officially, you had thought Jake hated you. He didn’t talk much around you, gave you polite, yet flat answers to questions and conversations. The resolution happened when you had been tipsy at a party, and he had been treating you with the same flatline tone, and you finally snapped and called him out before storming away and trying not to cry in the bathroom.
Danny wanted to go after you but Jake went instead, and you ended up having an hour long talk with him, sitting in the empty bathtub where you had hidden yourself, toe-to-toe. Jake was very much an older brother to Danny, as he’d known him forever, but he also knew Danny had a big, loving heart and that people only wanted to take advantage of it. Jake never meant for you to feel like he disliked you, in fact, he was growing to like you very much, especially with how happy Danny was. But he did admit he felt a need to help guard his younger brother's heart. With that cleared, and your admittance and vow that you were desperately in love with Danny Wagner the person, not the drummer or any other version of him, you and Jake became thick as thieves, and Danny could finally relax.
“How come she can yell at him like that, but we can’t?” Sam nudged Danny as they walked into their own dressing room, beginning to pry off the rhinestones on their faces and wipe off their own makeup.
“I think he knows she can take him in a fight.” Danny laughed. “Remember when she beat everyone at arm wrestling that one night?” Sam laughed, nodding.
“She nearly flipped Jake over the table,” he agreed. “Yeah, that’s probably why.”
It wasn’t long before everyone was filing out of the sprinter van and into the hotel lobby for the night, the tour manager handing everyone key cards and letting them know to be downstairs at 8am sharp or they’d leave without them.
Getting to your room, Danny unlocked the door and ushered you in before following, shutting and locking it behind him. You dropped your bags in the small hallway and turned, just as Danny crouched slightly and scooped you up, making you squeal softly as he blindly found the bed and dumping you down upon it before following, dragging the tip of his nose against your cheek and gazing down at you.
“I’m surprised you’re not exhausted,” you murmured. “If I played the drums like you did tonight, I’d have already been asleep in the car.”
“Mm, call it post-show adrenaline,” Danny pressed kisses down your neck. “I think I could go for a couple rounds.”
“A couple?” you quirked your eyebrow at him as he raised his head, a charming, playful smirk tugging his lips up at the corner.
“Yeah,” he sighed. “Think you can keep up, Mrs. Wagner?”
“Oh I’ll do more than keep up, Mr. Wagner.”
Tumblr media
It had been a month since you had visited Danny on tour. The schedule had worked out nicely, stay with him for a few shows before the holidays, come back home and spend Christmas and his birthday and New Years with his family, then come home for a week then he went out to do some pre-tour press with the guys before the grind started back up.
Currently, you were feeling entirely unwell, laying on the couch while some show played on the TV. You had never felt this queasy in your life, and it felt like everything was either making you nauseous or giving you a terrible headache. On the occasion you could eat and keep it down, you ended up with a bad case of heartburn.
“You know,” Olivia came around the corner, a small tray in her hands. “If this chicken soup doesn’t make you feel better, I don’t know what will.” she set it down on the coffee table in front of you, looking you over. “Are you sure you don’t have the flu?”
“I don’t know. I don’t have a fever, there’s no congestion. I’ve just felt really sick for the past few days.” you groaned. “I should go to the doctor but I just don’t want to bother if it’s just a stomach bug.”
“Yeah, but those usually are only twenty-four hours,” Olivia pursed her lips. “You don’t think…”
“What don’t I think?” you asked as you sat yourself up, waiting for room to stop tilting slightly before looking up at your best friend.
“Well,” Olivia started gently. “You don’t think you might be, you know, pregnant, do you?” your stomach dropped to the floor as you stared at the coffee table. Your last period, when was it? Going on tour with Danny, you didn’t have to pack anything for it…no it had been the week before. And you’d been so distracted with helping Danny get everything ready for the next leg of the tour you hadn’t noticed you were late. Turning to look up at Olivia, you looked panicked.
“Oh my god,” you whispered. “I think I am.” Olivia and you stared at one another, wide eyed, waiting for the other to make a movie.
“Do you have any tests?” Olivia whispered, afraid she was going to speak something into existence just by asking. Shaking your head, you went to stand up. “No! You stay here!” she dashed to the kitchen and you could hear her pouring water from your pitcher. She came back in with your large water bottle, handing it to you. “Drink that, I’ll be right back.”
You sipped from the straw on the water bottle, fighting down the wave of illness you felt after three or four of them. You weren’t sure if that wave was potential morning sickness or from anxiety. Of course you and Danny had talked about a family in the future. You hadn’t really thought about kids before, but with Danny, you had found yourself daydreaming of that life with him. Especially when one of his cousins brought their two-year old to the holiday party at his parents house, and they were glued to Danny’s side the whole time. You just didn’t know if you were both ready at this moment in time to start that future.
Olivia burst back into your house soon after you started going through every scenario of how this could play out in your head. She must’ve broken a dozen traffic laws to make the time she did, but she brought in three bags from the pharmacy, one with multiple types of tests, one with various candies she knew you loved, and another with prenatal vitamins and pedialyte. The two of you locked yourselves in the bathroom as you took the tests and placed them on the counter, setting timers on your phones for each one.
“Stupid question, but how are you feeling?” Olivia asked quietly, watching as you paced.
“Honestly, I don’t know how I’m feeling.” you answered. “All I know is I’m feeling every emotion humanly possible. I’m scared, I’m nervous, I’m excited but I’m anxious. If they’re positive I don’t know how I’m going to react. How Danny’s going to react when I tell him. He can’t just leave a multi-million dollar tour to come play house. Most of all I’m just happy you’re here.” Olivia took one of your hands in both of hers, holding it tightly.
“No matter what, I’m always going to be here.” she smiled. “Whether I’m going to be an auntie or not.” the two of you let the space fill with silence, almost being startled by the alarms as they began to go off. “Do you want me to look?”
“No, I can do it.” you murmured. Your stomach was in knots as you stepped over to the counter. A line of tests glaring up at you, the rest of your life possibly about to change.
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe you waited this long,” Sam whispered as you walked with him down the hallway of the hotel, on your way to Danny’s room. “He’s gonna flip.”
“Okay you cannot say it like that, you jerk. I wanted to wait for a doctor to confirm it before I told anyone.” you elbowed the slender young man next to you. “I’m terrified, and I need a little support here.” Sam stopped, placing his arms on your biceps and leaning down to stare into your eyes.
“Danny is going to be thrilled, I promise you.” Sam looked deadly serious before a smile tugged at his round cheeks. “You don’t have anything to worry about.” he pulled you into a hug, murmuring something about not being able to wait to be Uncle Sammy. You parted, and he continued to lead you to Danny’s door, tucking you behind him before knocking. It wasn’t long before you heard his footsteps and the locks unlocking.
“Hey Sam, what’s up-Honey!” Danny nearly pushed Sam out of the way once you peeked around Sam’s shoulder with a soft smile. “Baby what are you doing here?! I didn’t know you were coming!”
“I just wanted to surprise you.” you laughed as he wrapped you up in his arms. “Sam helped me.”
“This is the best surprise ever,” he murmured, kissing your hair. “Thanks Sam,” he patted Sam’s shoulder, who took his leave as Danny ushered you inside. There was a golf tournament on the TV, the announcers voices filling the silence as you walked further in. “God, I was just thinking about how I missed you, and here you are.”
“Dreams do come true, don’t they?” you laughed softly, nerves starting to build up. It was now or never.
“Yes they certainly do,” Danny grinned, taking your chin between his thumb and forefinger and kissing you lovingly. He deepened the kiss and you let yourself get carried away for a moment before pulling away slightly.
“I have something I need to give you.” you tried to reach for your bag but Danny pulled you back to his lips.
“It can wait, honey,” he murmured, his breath warm on your face. You could feel your resolve melting but stood firm.
“It actually can’t.” Danny sighed, pulling away and watching you dig into your bag, pulling out a velvet box. Holding it out to him, Danny took it, a small, confused smile on his face.
“What is this?” he asked, puzzled, looking back at you.
“Just open it,”
Danny did as instructed, and was greeted with a square sapphire pendant sitting on a silver chain. He glanced up at you before noticing the grainy photo image in the lid of the box. He looked from it to you several times, and you tried to read his expression.
“Is…Is this?” he pointed to the box, then his eyes zeroed in on your stomach. It was still largely flat, at this point just looking like some incredibly minor bloating. “Are you?”
“We’re due in September.” you whispered, tears stinging your eyes. “So I thought you should have a sapphire of your own.” It happened in less than a second. The pendant and sonogram was tossed to the bed behind you as Danny wrapped his arms around you, kissing you over and over again. He pulled away, resting a hand on your lower abdomen, smiling knowing his child was growing there.
“Honey, this really is the best surprise ever,” he sniffled, a few stray tears falling down his cheeks. “I’m going to have that necklace welded permanently, I swear to god. Oh my god, I’m gonna be a dad!”
“How about that?” you murmured, resting your forehead against his. The two of you embraced in silence for a bit, before Danny finally parted, holding your face in one hand as he smiled down at you.
“I really think being your wedding date was the best thing that ever could’ve happened to me.” nodding, you replied.
“Me too.”

Florence - Chapter Seven
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's Harry and MJ's wedding day, and you feel a million different emotions at once. Happiness, fear, an urge to never part from Peter's side. Finally, you come to a resolution about you and Peter's burgeoning relationship, ecstatically so.
Wedding stuff, ceremonies and reception, lots of emotions, cheesy romantic things (kissing, overly dramatic proposal stuff), smut (riding + lots of tension coming to a head (pls skip over this segment if you're uncomfortable)), I can't believe this took so long to write
Masterlist | Previous Chapter
Tumblr media
Peter feels elated. On top of the world, even.
Yeah, it was just a kiss– hardly the most invigorating, erotic thing he could’ve done– but, as cheesy as Peter feels when he thinks this, it was a kiss with you.
“Ugh.” He smacks himself in the face, cringing at how much he loves these intense feelings. He’s lying in his bed– the villa bedroom that was selected for him was perfect, down to the mattress that keeps Peter’s back pain at bay– but he can’t help but grin bashfully under his hands.
You had had the same sort of look yesterday. After Peter had finished kissing you, MJ had come and stolen you away for more bridesmaid duties– speeches, readings at the church, etc. – and despite your shy small smile, your hand clinging onto his as MJ dragged you away with a very questioning, sly look, he had to let you go. Unfortunately so.
Peter knows he loves you. He spent most of the night tossing and turning, thinking about how to properly ask you to be his girlfriend, his partner, his significant other. To be the one that he knew you were back when the two of you were just kids.
He was just too stupid to see it.
Hell, even Logan told him that it was obvious. After years and years, he apparently always wondered when one of you would make the first move and get it over with. This was coming from the guy who couldn’t bear to ask out Ms. Grey and ended up ending it over nothing, too.
Peter clambers out of bed, rubbing his face, getting ready to brush his teeth, knowing that because he’s known you for so long– his method of asking you to make things official would come naturally.
/
You’re watching the sun rise over the gorgeous trees and groves of the villa, leaking through the windows of the house. Your room has a teeny balcony– you never noticed it before since a table obscured the door, and it’s a lovely space to spend time thinking before the wedding.
Outside, a cool breeze makes your hair loose, blowing away strands lightly, and you feel at peace. You feel glad to be here.
Siena is quite beautiful… but you’re very excited to actually go back to Florence today. It’s the best part of Italy to you, and you share too many memories with Peter to not want to be there with him today.
Especially after he kissed you. You find yourself blushing, but that’s okay. It’s too special for you to know how to deal with– you’re finding that you’re easily flustered, going over countless memories of sunny beaches and ice cream and studying algebra and Italian architecture, cobblestone streets and sun dresses and tanned skin that always stayed with you long after you would come home to the cold autumn airs of New York.
But the best part was that Peter would always be with you throughout it all. Not just in Florence, but in high school, at home, being neighbours and bothering each other all time. You never had to have a break from him– he was like your own personal summer vacation.
You know you have had your moments, pulling away, feeling stupid and neglected– the sorrow you feel is fairly terrible– but the gratitude, the satisfaction you have from having Peter next to you now is unlike anything else you’ve ever felt.
You wonder if Peter feels the same, that he’s feeling an overwhelming amount of emotions all at once– love, affection, but also fondness, familiarity, relief– you hope so. You want to talk to him again.
You didn’t sleep very well last night, and you know that’s bad for the wedding– but you’re not tired at all. No, no.
For the first time in your life, you feel really awake.
“Howlett?” Peter’s voice calls, and you turn– you stumble for a moment.
“Hey, watch it!” Peter comes through your grabs your forearm, steadying you. You weren’t in any risk of falling over the railing of the balcony, but Peter’s got that strange sense, and his brown eyes peer into yours, checking to see if you’re okay.
Once he feels that you are, his gaze softens and he settles into a smile. His brows furrow as he grins at you.
He’s still wearing PJs, as are you– clearly you weren’t the only one struggling to stay away.
“I– I’m okay.” You hold his hand, trying not to beam. “You didn’t have to do that, but thanks.”
“Couldn’t exactly let my girlfriend fall off the balcony, could I?” Peter ruffles your hair, and you feel an alarming amount of excitement and earnestness at his words. “Not after I finally got one.”
“Hey.” You point your finger at Peter’s chest, and he raises his hands in an oh-ho, let’s see what you have to say sort of way, and you can’t help but smirk a little even if you’re mock glaring at him. “You’re admitting that it could’ve been any girl? And you would’ve been happy?”
“Oh, Howlett.” Peter reaches over and tries his best not to snicker– he fails– as he starts this overly romantic, purposefully terrible soliloquy to you. “It could only be you. I’d walk across a thousand burning coals for you. I’d reach up into the sky and take the moon and give it to you. I’d rake my balls through shredded glass just for the chance to kiss your sweet, chapped lips.”
You cackle at that, and Peter giggles while holding you close, holding your face.
“Okay, okay. I get it.” You laugh, and you shake your head at him. “What’s with the use of girlfriend, anyways? When did you ask me to be your girlfriend?”
“Was it not obvious yesterday?” Peter purses his lips. “Should I kiss you again, and make it more clear?”
Peter leans in but you stop him with your hand, and he kisses your hand anyways.
Licks it, too.
“Yuck.” You shake your hand away. “You can’t just claim me like a primitive man-ape, Peter. You gotta make it official, properly. I’ve waited too long for this moment for you to go and just make it so.”
“Oh, really?” Peter looks bemused. “You spent a great many algebra study sessions fantasizing about me, huh?”
“Obviously.” You roll your eyes, and Peter pushes down the urge to kiss your endearingly annoyed expression.
“Okay. Deal.” Peter takes you by the hand, and leads you inside. “Do you think we have time for a morning coffee?”
/
It’s a very hectic time to go and sneak away like this.
MJ is currently doing an intense skincare regimen– she enjoys it a lot typically, but in this case it’s to give her a wedding glow– numerous products are slathered on as she lays on her bed. Face, arms, legs covered.
She gives you the okay to go, as long as you’re back in five minutes to help her get dressed, and Peter promises it will take two.
Peter makes his coffee– it’s easy, it’s just black with no sugar or cream– but for you he adds in a lot of sweetness and sugar and cream and even if you don’t usually take your coffee that sweet, you appreciate it anyways.
“You used to drink it like this in high school.” Peter admits sheepishly, and you know he’s right– it’s cute how he remembers that.
/
MJ is so glad you’re back, shooing Peter away to the groom’s side of the house. As two makeup artists work on her hair, her face, her skin, working in even more products and massaging her muscles (MJ is so particular about reducing her frown wrinkles) she feels relaxed, luxurious, amazing… if not for the fact that she’s having wedding panic.
“Seriously, what if Harry gets cold feet again?” MJ blinks her deep green-blue eyes, tears hanging onto her pale, mascara-less eyelashes. “I knew we should’ve waited a few years. He’s been so worried about his father, about everything with Oscorp… God, I’m so fucking stupid!”
“MJ– No.” You shake your head. “You’re just freaking out. Deep breaths, Mary Jane.”
She inhales somewhat dramatically, but shuts her eyes, and you watch as MJ’s flushed, red skin calms into her fair, even skintone.
“Harry wouldn’t have proposed if he didn’t want to do this now.” You remind her carefully.
“And he wouldn’t have invited his dad if things were that terrible, right?” MJ nods, and she watches as you nod, too. “Okay. Hold my hand, Lettie. It’s scarier than I realized.”
“Getting married?” You sit next to her, squeezing her palm in a warm grasp, and try to avoid the makeup artist currently applying a peachy blush to MJ’s cheeks.
“Yeah. Not to be crazy, but… it’s literally marriage. It’s Mary Jane Osborn from here on out. Mrs. MJ, wife to Harry Osborn.” MJ inhales. “I know I want to do it, but I just… I have so many nerves!”
“Pretend it’s one of your modelling shoots?” The hair stylist arranging MJ’s red hair into a loose bun chimes in, as she works in lilies through the strands.
“No… that won’t do. Thanks though, Clara.” MJ sighs. “It’s not like that. It’s just… it’s been so long since I’ve had to really… shed the image.”
“Bare your soul?” You respond, and MJ nods. “I get it. You need to be candid about your feelings.”
“Yeah, it can’t be all image work. And I just worry that I’m going to come across as a influencer woman being shallow and vain rather than, well, the real me, little MJ Watson from Queens.” MJ’s voice turns small. “I almost wish I wasn’t famous at all.”
“Too late for that, cupcake.” The hairstylist comments again, and MJ snorts despite herself. “Listen. If Osborn knows you’re being real, then that’s good enough. Outsiders are always going to judge.”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself.” You agree, and MJ swallows, before sighing with relief.
“Okay. Okay. I’m okay.” MJ fixes her glance on you. “Don’t leave me though.”
/
MJ looks perfect– even more so, in your personal taste, than she ever has during her glammed up, avant garde beauty shoots– she looks just like herself. Enhanced, a little, with her freckles still shining through dewy, glowy makeup, topped off with shimmery, sheer gold-glitter eyeshadow, and poppy red lipstick, blotted so not to be too much. She looks like your best friend, but also like… the best possible version of herself. You tell her as much.
She beams. “Thanks, Lettie. Do I look like a bride?”
“Of course!” You shake your head at her. “We just need to get you into your dress…”
MJ isn’t one to care about being nude anymore, after being desensitised to designers stripping and dressing her, and she undoes her robe with a simple pull of the strap, exposing her bare breasts and panties– you’re reminded just how much taller she is than you when she stands up straight, all legs and taut stomach, sharp collarbones and angular shoulders, muscles and bone contorting into a physique that just screams model. It’s like she was made to wear anything in an editorial context.
“This is how I feel. Standing in that church, telling everyone I love Harry…” MJ crosses her arms, causing her tits to jut out more, and you snort, totally indifferent to her naked body. You’ve seen it a million times. “I’m going to be emotionally and spiritually naked.”
“And that’s harder than having your tits out?” You joke, but MJ points at you, seriously agreeing. “Alright, arms up.”
The dress is quite beautiful. An off-white, almost blue in tone mermaid dress, custom made by Dior, it fits MJ like a glove, snatching in at her bust, waist, and her hips, but then flaring out in an elegant a-line skirt, all silk and lace detailing. There’s quite a bit of rhinestone work from her sweetheart neckline, down to her hips, and the effect– as you pull it up on her, tightening the corset straps as she reaches around to make sure it’s all fitting– it’s like a halo glow.
Yes, as you carefully adorn MJ’s veil over her head, you feel in your heart– she’s an angel. No doubt about it.
“You look beautiful.” You grin at her, and to your surprise, MJ’s eyes water a little, and she hugs you tightly.
“I’m so glad you came here.” MJ murmurs. “I never would’ve wanted to get married without you by my side.”
“Same. I mean, if I get married–”
“Stop that. You’re going to get married.” MJ laughs, cackles, really. “You and Peter– you guys are so meant to be. I’ve never been more glad that you two hit it off this week.”
“Even though we could be stealing the spotlight?” You joke.
“Especially if it means you’re stealing the spotlight.” MJ squeezes your arms. “You really deserve it, Lettie.”
There’s a sudden lump in your throat. Never have you ever assumed that you deserve any of the good things life throws your way– you always assume that it’s just due to luck. A cushy coding job? Luck. Being friends with Harry, who’s willing to give you a much higher salary, and MJ, who gives you the best fashion advice? Luck. Peter somehow being interested in you? Luck. What’s really special about you?
“I know that look.” MJ shakes her head. “You’re a catch, babe. Now go get dressed and blow that man’s socks off.”
“I… thought you were going to finish that sentence differently.” You admit, glad that MJ stopped your spiral into depressive thoughts. “Isn’t it ‘knock your socks off?’”
MJ shoos you out, laughing.
/
After very quickly putting on your makeup, It’s not hard to dress yourself. The dress, pretty as it is, all forest-green, flowing lace and silky details that you loved from the moment you saw it, just has one simple zipper.
Unfortunately, your hands scramble for purchase– it is just out of your reach, and it’s exceedingly annoying to try and zip it from the back when you can’t see it.
The dress is flowing loosely around you as you sigh loudly, and decide to turn towards your bathroom, where you can estimate better with a mirror.
“Howlett?”
Peter comes up behind you, and you feel your skin warm. He’s too close– you’re not even fully dressed– and you hold your hands against the top of your dress, trying to stay modest.
“You’ve caught me in a fairly compromising position, I admit.” You joke quietly, and Peter chuckles.
“Maybe that was my intention.” He whispers half-jokingly, and you close your eyes, trying not to laugh or be turned on by the insinuation. “Kidding. Do you need privacy? I can go.”
“No, no, I need your help.” You mutter. “Could you just– zip up the back of the dress? I can’t reach it.”
“Of course.” Peter gently grasps the zipper, and you feel his hand press against your lower back, the heat emanating through the silk fabric, and with one fluid motion, he zips you up, the dress fitting perfectly, no longer free flowing but now clearly draped and styled in a way that accentuates the way you look.
Peter twists your shoulders so you’re facing him, and with an uncustomary amount of emotion, feels his breath hold. You look so gorgeous– so stunning, in a way he almost feels reverent when he looks at you– and he cannot help but voice it.
“Wait, you look– amazing–” You had no idea Peter was wearing his suit already. He looks dapper, sweet, calming.
“Me? Oh man, Howlett. You look so pretty. I don’t even–” Peter harshly swallows. “It almost makes me regret never taking you out to prom.”
“It’s alright, Peter. This can be our do-over.” You kid with him, but he’s still solemn.
“Why was I so stupid?” Peter scowls at himself, and you get the feeling he’s actually going to be upset about this for a long time. “I couldn’t even see what I had, Howlett. You should’ve smacked me upside the head.”
“No, that’s too harsh.” You snicker at his antics. “It’s okay. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. If anything, it kind of… brought us closer together? Right?”
“Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. Shared trauma.” Peter laughs to himself, but he leans in a little closer. “Sorry, I gotta make up for lost time.”
Before you can admonish Peter for trying to ruin your lipstick, he’s already pulling your face forward in a strong, firm kiss, his lips pressing against yours without preamble or hesitation, and he holds you there– while you feel your insides turn warm, all jelly like, as Peter strokes your hair and face and jaw. He lets go for just a moment– but still presses cute, short kisses against your mouth, little pecks, really, and then he actually stops.
Peter’s lips are that soft red colour you picked out for yourself– he’s basically eaten your lipstick off.
“How many kisses do you need until you feel it’s enough for all the years you missed?” You tease him, gently wiping away at his lips.
“Honestly, Howlett, it’s never gonna be enough. Seriously, you’re going to want to invest in a real good lip balm treatment because I am going to kiss your lips off.” Peter proves his point by kissing your fingers as you’re wiping his lips, and you snort.
“Real smooth.” You pull out your lipstick and re-apply. “You’ll get tired of it eventually.”
“No.” Peter’s serious. “I’m not gonna get tired of getting to kiss you. It’s a privilege and I can’t take it for granted, so…”
He presses a kiss to the top of your hairline, not wanting to mess up your makeup again, and together you leave to downstairs in the foyer where everyone is waiting for the limo, and you can witness the wedding event of the year.
/
Peter obviously sits next to you in the limo. The bridal and groom’s party are all grouped together in one giant limo, while MJ is being escorted in a very fancy, ivory white Volkswagen beetle with her parents, which will then be the newlywed’s car to drive off in, and Harry– being Harry– is driving in on a fast motorcycle, leading everyone to the Florence Cathedral.
There’s plenty of space in the limo. Gwen and Miles are taking pictures of each other using an instant camera, while Gayle and Betty gossip about some of the guests posting stories on instagram– supposedly someone is wearing white, and Gayle launches a plan to help her sister out and “accidentally” throw some red wine on the dress.
The other groomsmen mostly keep among themselves. You blink and realize that you’ve never really conversed with them– they’re mostly Harry’s friends and they have their own stuff to talk about.
Betty offers to take a picture of Gwen and Miles– somehow turning out stunning under her adept fingers, with just a smartphone camera– and you know that’s why MJ loves her. The one time Betty shot MJ for the highschool newspaper, it was all over from there– it basically launched her career after it went viral.
Then Betty turns the camera towards you and Peter. “Smile for the camera, Howlett. You too, Parker.”
She’s as deadpan as ever, but you and Peter lean into each other over the seats, smiling with not a hint of irony. You’re happy.
The film prints out, and Betty holds it away from the light, shaking it a little, and as the image appears, she hands it to you two.
“Wow.” Peter traces the edge of the photo. “This is… maybe better than my photography skills, somehow.”
“I know that’s a real compliment if it’s coming from your egotistical ass, Parker.” Betty sniffs, and shuffles away to gossip with Gayle again.
“Howlett, you’re so…” Peter inhales and sighs, as if he really can’t believe he’s around you, and you feel yourself blush. “I’m putting this in my jacket pocket. Just as a sweet memory.”
“Aw, you sap.” You giggle, and Peter laughs.
/
There are loads of people in the Florence Cathedral, all admiring the architecture, the religious art pieces, the tile work. Far more people than you would’ve accounted for– but then you remember that many of these guests are not staying at the Villa. You see more models, more tech billionaires, but also…neighbours, friends, family. Sweet memories connected with all of these people.
To your surprise, your father is already at the church, having left with Norman an hour ago. He’s conversing with a mature, pretty redhead that you recognize instantly.
“Oh my god– Ms. Grey?” You shove Logan out of the way, and he grumbles but smiles to keep up appearances. Jean fixes him a glance that totally tells you she knows about his grumpy history, and she likes it. “You’re here?”
“Of course I am.” She’s wear a teal blue dress, light gold heels, and somehow, despite a few wrinkles and spots– she still looks like your second grade teacher. “You’ve grown up into a lovely young woman, Howlett.”
“She has.” Logan pats your shoulder, looking the part of a proud father. Actually, if you really look into his eyes– you can see that they’re wet.
“Oh… thank you.” You swallow sincerely, hoping you won’t make your father cry. “You look very nice, too, Ms. Grey.”
“Yeah. I agree.” Peter chimes in from behind you, sounding very… wistful. You giggle.
“Oh wow. I never would’ve expected you to be so tall now, Peter!” Jean pinches his cheek. “Thanks.”
Peter is definitely fulfilling some childhood fantasy right now, with how deeply he’s blushing, you think. But you still ask Jean why she’s here.
“Oh, my dear, you don’t know?” She laughs. “I’m MJ’s aunt. Well, more like a family-friend aunt. Not really related. But still.”
“Wow, really?” You want to ask more questions, but the church bells have started ringing.
“Well, I must go take my seat now. Thanks for being such darling students, my dears.” Jean Grey leaves you two– not before giving Logan a rather loaded, heated look. Maybe slightly inappropriate for church.
“You’re probably not going to wash that cheek, are you?” Logan teases Peter, scratching his own jaw. “Don’t blame you.”
“Why don’t you go after her, Dad?” You cross your arms. “Why not just… try?”
“It’s not that simple, kid.”
“Sure it is.” Peter holds Logan’s shoulder– and to your surprise, Logan doesn’t shove him off. “You told me not to give up on Howlett–”
“I told you not to break her fucking heart again, Parker.”
“Okay, same thing applies here. Why end things with Ms. Grey? Because you think you’re not good enough? You’re a washed up veteran?” Peter scoffs.
“Watch it…” Logan warns him.
“Right, right. Sorry. Have you ever thought that maybe Ms. Grey’s waiting for you to make a move? Maybe you’re giving up because you’re sabotaging yourself.” Peter shakes his head. “You don’t deserve to be alone after… after…”
“My namesake.” You flatly comment.
“Yeah, her.” Peter’s eyes soften, and Logan actually seems to be listening. “Give yourself a chance, Logan.”
“Wow. Normally I’d have to beat your ass for talking so disrespectfully to me, Parker.” Logan exhales. “But even I can admit you’re not… wrong. I’ll think about it.”
And Peter flashes that smile at you, that overly confident, I-just-fixed-it smile that you absolutely adore.
/
Peter lends you his arm as you walk down the aisle again, slow, smooth, everything moving as it should. It feels strangely perfect, in a way that you’ve never felt that your life was, and you can’t help but grin at people– they smile back at you, too.
You catch little details in the church pews– floral details, lace and chiffon draping over seats, and a candlelit glow make everything seem particularly magical. The Cathedral’s artfully designed dome and tilework lends itself well to the feeling that something spiritual, something momentous is about to occur.
The gold chain bracelet MJ gifted you a few days ago glints against your wrist– as Peter’s does, too. You wonder if MJ and Harry planned that together. Some sort of pre-engagement ring type of deal.
Peter smiles at you once you part at the altar. Really, he kind of– chokes out a smile, a huge grin that he can’t help but convey towards you. And you know that you love him.
The rest of the wedding party walks in, MJ being the very last. You watch as a silence falls over the people of the church, a hush of emotion and awe, to finally see the bride on her big day. MJ looks sweet, reverent and graceful, and she grasps her parents’ arms tightly, while Harry catches her eyes, and you can see his adam’s apple bob up and down. Maybe Harry’s getting soft.
The priest begins the wedding service for real. MJ looks pleased, nervous, obviously running on nerves, while Harry is bashful, shy, like a little boy again.
Before you know it… it’s over. You and Peter are called over to be witnesses to the wedding document, and you sign it, feeling an air of relief, some sort of satisfying completion to this wild journey.
Harry dips MJ– tall as she is– at the front of the church, in a sweeping kiss that has people clapping and cheering.
/
The Villa is full of thumping music when you arrive back. People are already dancing, swaying, eating, drinking, either in the outdoor garden space, or inside the house itself.
But you only want to be with Peter. You’re not even spending time with the other bridesmaids– but Gwen, Betty and Gayle seem to understand deeply about your affection for Peter, and they let you go with smiles that seem to know something.
Peter and Harry are already taking tequila shots at the bar, wasting no time, and Harry’s mouth stretches into a large smile when he sees you. “Hey, speak of the devil!”
He motions for you to come over.
“You guys were talking about me?” You snort, and Peter turns a little pinker.
“Duh, as if this guy can talk about anything else.” Harry playfully punches Peter. “Howlett, you might have to marry him, or he’s never gonna shut up.”
“Uh… yeah, that’s just my drunk brain talking. I don’t mean any pressure.” Peter tries to excuse himself by drinking another random shot.
“He doesn’t know I want to marry him too.” You whisper to Harry. “Since ninth grade, I think.”
“He’s a dude, Howlett. Coming from another dude– we are blind sometimes.” Harry passes you a shot. “Have you made things official yet? Settled the deal?”
“That’s the business talk coming out.” You joke, and Harry laughs.
“True. But trust me, Peter can be dumb. Until you really… make it official, he’s not gonna believe that you’re into him of all people. He’s really insecure.” Harry sounds distant, sad, as Peter continues talking to the bartender, totally oblivious.
“Oh. I told him that he has to ask me to be his girlfriend before I really agree to it.” You respond, and Harry shakes his head with a wry smile.
“Who’s the one with the business talk now?” He laughs, and you shrug as if you really are that shrewd.
“I think I’ve suffered long enough.”
“That, you have.” Harry cheers to that and hands you a shot, which you drink gratefully.
/
After a bit of erratic, half-drunk dancing– whatever DJ was hired for this is amazing at picking songs that force you to, at the very least, bop your head– Peter pulls you aside.
“What’s up?” You ask him, still a little sweaty and frazzled from the music.
“I want to get some water. Like the icy water from the fridge? Just to sober up a little.” Peter shrugs, and you glance upwards at him.
“You really need me to be there for that?” You raise your eyebrows, and Peter scrambles for a response.
“Well… I… uh, I just want you there. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to.” Peter admits, and you snicker.
“I will. I needed a break from dancing, too.”
Together you stroll through the garden, up to the backyard doors of the house, laughing about how fun everything is, and you really meander– taking a lot of time to stare at Peter, and him at you– and you don’t notice something is off until Peter pulls you to the side, just behind the bar counter of the kitchen.
“Wh–” You cut yourself off, watching a deep-red ponytail bob up and down at rapid speed, with gusto. Tan shoulders and just a hint of bare breasts coming up past the counter, where you can see her.
It’s definitely Ms. Grey. Uh… Jean. You can just make out the edge of her side profile from beyond the counter, as she convulses on the floor, riding someone unseen, and she moans, “Logan, oh my god, Logan–!”
Peter pulls you away by the hand, down the hallway and into a random closet, before you can let yourself fully grasp the idea of potentially seeing your father deep in the throes of passion. You are so glad you didn’t see or hear anymore than that.
“Damn. When I told Logan to go for it… I didn’t think he’d do that.” Peter comments after shutting the door, and you, despite your very childish horror at the whole thing, start giggling. Peter smiles, and you can tell he’s trying to cheer you up.
“I mean… at least he’ll be getting over my namesake.” You raise your eyebrows. “You think Ms. Grey wants to be my mom?”
“Howlett, I’m pretty sure Logan is about to make her one. Without your involvement.” Peter replies drily, and from how clearly you can hear the rasp in his throat, you can tell this closet must not be very big.
You laugh, a little awkwardly now, because you’re still not used to being so close to Peter, not in this context anyways. A dark, shady closet, where it’s just the two of you, feeling body warmth emanate from each other. Peter’s breaths are hitting somewhere around your hairline, and if you came any closer– you’re sure you would be enveloped by his chest.
“Peter, did you bring me here just to get some alone time?” You tease.
“Well, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want that water.” Peter leans in a little, and you get the sense that he’s actually holding himself back. “But to be honest, Howlett? You’re a pretty good alternative.”
“Right. Because I’m curing your thirst.” You roll your eyes, and Peter laughs.
“See, this is what I love about you. You always know what I’m about to say.” Peter says, and he watches you, in the near darkness of the closet, tense a little.
Peter searches around for a light switch, and finds it. A tiny, yellow bulb lights up in the centre of the room, and you realize the closet is bigger than you thought.
A chaise lounge, grey in color, is off to the side.
“I just wanted to see you.” Peter answers the question he knows you were about to ask.
“Oh.” You smile up at him, but there’s still uncertainty in your posture.
“Howlett, what’s wrong? Am I being too much?” He looks into your eyes, and you just don’t know how to answer.
“No. I just… I’m bad at this.” You grow shy under Peter’s watchful eye.
“So am I.” He takes your hand. “But you know what? It’s time to be adults about this. I’m gonna reiterate it, I love you.”
Something about his emphasis on the word love has you spluttering and laughing, and Peter repeats it anyways, in different stresses and tones, “I love you. I LOVE YOU. I love you. I love you, Howlett.”
“I know, I know. I love you too.” It spills out of your mouth before you can stop yourself, but Peter grins eagerly and nods. “You’ve already told me that before.”
“You mean when I was drunk a couple days ago, right? Well I meant it then, and I mean it now.” Peter nods firmly.
“Do you remember that you’ve kissed me before, too?” You ask just out of curiosity, and Peter turns a little pink before admitting that he does.
“Who could forget the beach sunscreen kiss? I still think of that as my first one.” Peter laughs quietly. “But yesterday was more… um…”
“Real.” You whisper, and Peter nods again, this time with a little more agitation in his eyes, and you watch him mull over something, obviously thinking about kissing you after speaking about it, and you know you want to after the heated memories of yesterday, and his eyes glance towards your mouth, before he decides on it.
Peter sweeps you up in a kiss that’s far more lustful and tense, grasping around your waist and hips as he pulls you in, and you feel his lips soften against yours, melting as you feel a rhythm occur naturally. You kiss him back and you know that knowing Peter for so long has enabled you– it’s like the two of you were made to be together.
He kisses down your neck, and pulls down the silky front of your dress– as much as it will allow, at least– and kisses soft, open mouthed kisses against your cleavage, which causes you to writhe against him a little. Eventually Peter finds the zipper of your dress and pulls it down halfway, allowing him to really dip his mouth against your bare breasts, and you groan as Peter lightly sucks on your nipple.
“...Jesus Christ, Howlett…” Peter murmurs in between kissing your chest and upwards on your neck and jaw. “I don’t even… know how long I wanted to do this.”
There’s not many words to be shared from you as you feel yourself turn lightheaded, and you kiss Peter again, taking control of his mouth, relishing the feeling of his tongue swiping against yours, leading him back towards the very convenient chaise lounge chair. There, Peter discards his blazer and unbuttons his shirt, and lies back against the chair, his dick clearly straining against his pants.
You kiss him again, sitting right on his bulge, lifting your skirt a little higher so Peter can feel the shift of your bare skin against him, through the fabric pants, and his eyes roll back into his head as you kiss him, grind a little. Maybe it’s too much– Peter grabs your ass and pulls up the skirt even higher, pushing you down on his clothed bulge with too much intensity– and you feel pleasant tingles spread across your skin as his bulge presses into you, almost inside you, against the thin underwear that you’re wearing. You’re very slick– you shudder as Peter pulls down the zipper of your dress fully, and you feel his hands roam across your bare back, and then into the inside of your dress, feeling your waist and breasts.
“I didn’t bring a–” Peter starts, as you let your hands trace up his chest, and he clearly has trouble saying no.
“Oh, it’s fine. I’m on the pill.” You say, matter-of-factly, mostly interested in staying on top of Peter until he begs for more. “Just for hormonal reasons.”
“Oh… okay…” Peter inhales as you press more kisses against his neck. “Howlett… it’s a lot for me to handle.”
“Huh?”
Before Peter can really answer, he whispers an apology before tightly gripping your waist, and he sits upright, pulling you flush against his chest. Then, as he zips off his pants– he somehow takes them off completely, leaving him in just his boxers. There’s a wet spot– and Peter is pulling his boxers off, too.
His dick is hard, almost painfully so based on his expression, and you understand you riled him up a little too much. With one hand– Peter reaches under your skirt, and you help him pull off your underwear with shaky, sweaty hands.
You’re aroused enough that it doesn’t hurt. When Peter slowly enters you, as you lower yourself down on him, you feel electric on the inside, some sort of satisfyingly sick combination of love and lust overtaking you, and you feel full from the pressure, feeling Peter throb inside you, and you’ve never felt so close to him as you do now, and he starts a rapid pace of thrusting into you, holding you tightly against him as he does, his thighs smacking against your ass.
You do feel pleasure, a sharp ache starting to build in your lower regions, as Peter continues to press overly hot kisses against your jaw, but you also feel loved. It doesn’t feel like a hookup, and you know it isn’t. You know as Peter wraps his arms around your waist, he’s not just using you, he really loves you.
He watches as you fall over his shoulder, having reached the peak of your climax, and Peter pulls out, letting himself finish on his own leg.
“You didn’t… have to…” You sleepily tell him.
“I know. I was just taking a precaution.” Peter whispers, and he holds you close as you fall asleep on top of him. “Love you, Howlett.”
He’s really glad this closet has a locked door.
/
The morning after the wedding, you wake up to find yourself mysteriously dressed in a oversized tee shirt, and your panties. You’re lying in your own bed, but you don’t know how you got here.
Peter is sleeping next to you. His brown hair is dishevelled, and he’s wearing a random tee shirt too. Actually, you think you recognize that from Harry’s wardrobe.
“Peter. Hey, Peter.” You shake his shoulder. “Peter Parker!”
“Huh? What’s that?” He sleepily rubs his eyes. “Oh, morning, Howlett.”
“How did we get here? After we… I mean, you know.” You blush. “What did you do?”
“Oh.” Peter lets himself get up for real, sitting up on the bed. “I waited it out until no one was near the stairs, and then I took you upstairs to your room. I changed your dress for you. There were randoms in my room, so I hope you don’t mind that I stayed in here with you.”
“Of course I don’t mind.” You wrinkle your brows, frowning. “I just wonder why you did all that even though I’m not your girlfriend.”
Peter pauses. Actually, he genuinely stills, no movement at all.
“Oh, Howlett. You scared me.” He shakes his head, before grabbing your hands. “I just kinda assumed after yesterday, you would believe that’s enough evidence.”
“Humor me.” You slightly smile as Peter agrees with a little shake of his head.
“I’ll be serious. I am serious.” Peter grows solemn. “Howlett. I’ve known you my entire life, practically. I can’t picture it being without you. The year or so that it was, was maybe the worst year of my life.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I just appreciate you all the more now.” Peter traces your knuckles. “I’ve grown– we’ve grown up a lot. I needed that, so I could be here to ask you now. Would you be my girlfriend? My partner, if that sounds more equal and appropriate to you?”
“Yes.” You pull Peter into a hug, surely one of many from now on, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. “I’m so glad we went on this trip.”
Peter smiles fondly. He’s never been more glad, either.
“I never want to let you down again, Peter.” You admit shyly. “I hope it’s not cheesy to say I want to be around you all the time.”
“It isn’t.” Peter presses a very chaste, soft kiss against your lips, and he feels, finally, that his life is really coming together.
So do you.

definitely not thinking about the way Harry would propose anyways I think you’d go on a trip to Italy maybe he’s about to leave for tour soon so you just think it’s a little alone time before he leaves, and while it is, to him it’s when he’s planning to propose😓 one night you’re at the villa getting ready to go get dinner and he tells you it’s a bit more of a fancy place so you get all dolled up in a silk dress, and he’s in a button up and slacks. The suns starting to set and the doors are wide open out to your balcony letting the summer air in. When you’re all done getting ready you see him out on the balcony so you join him and say “hey babe ready to go?” When he turns to look at you all prettied up he gets all blushy and smiley🥹 he just pulls you into him by the waist kissing up your neck saying “You look so beautiful my love” and of course he looks even better so you compliment him back😓 you say “you ready?” one more time and that’s when he’s like “I am. But before we go I just want to tell you….” And goes on a whole speech about how you’re his entire world and how much he loves you. That’s when he pulls the ring out of his pocket and pops the question😭😭 between the sunset, being on a balcony overlooking the sea, the warm air and both of your crispy sun tans…everything is just so perfect and cozy and romantic😓 after saying yes and crying and kissing and telling him you love him a million times he’s like “Ok now I’m ready” and you leave for dinner. What you don’t know tho is that the dinner he planned was actually a surprise and when you get to the restaurant you see he flew out both of your close family members to celebrate😔😔😔 it was a very private proposal but being able to share it with your loved ones afterwards was even more special😔 the whole night would just be so perfect, and for the next couple days of the trip it’s just a cute little mixed family vacation before he leaves for tour💔

'It's almost a cliché, but the locations in Netflix's Ripley are like characters in the action.
The limited series adapts Patricia Highsmith's novel The Talented Mr Ripley and moves from New York City to a flurry of locations across Italy set in the early 1960s.
The story follows American con artist Tom Riley (Andrew Scott) as he is tasked with heading to Italy to bring home an old acquaintance and a wayward scion of a shipping dynasty, Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), now living a relaxed life away from his family responsibilities as a carefree painter.
Actress Dakota Fanning, who portrays Dickie's girlfriend Marge Sherwood in the series, told Netflix: "We were filming in so many of the most beautiful cities in the world; Rome, Venice, Capri, the Amalfi Coast. Naples had its own grit and electricity.
"It’s interesting because I do think that the show portrays the country in a different way than most people have seen Italy."
Where was Ripley filmed? Stunning locations from gorgeous Netflix series
New York City, New York, USA
One of the most iconic cities in the world, New York City is the location for much of the premiere episode of Ripley, as we follow Tom Ripley's hand-to-mouth existence in the sprawling metropolis - which feels all the more oppressive in the almost gothic black-and-white.
Atrani, Italy
Atrani is the setting of multiple episodes in the series, as this is where Dickie and Marge live in Italy. The small city on the Amalfi Coast in the province of Salerno is in the Campania region of south-western Italy. The area today has a population of around 900 people.
The winding steps and mountainous exteriors make it a visually stunning backdrop.
Production designer David Gropman told Netflix: "It was just the incredible geography of that town, the relationship of the main square to the beach, all of those unbelievable paths, that maze of stairs and corridors through the mountain."
The location provided the production with space for Marge's home and Ripley's hotel room in the village too.
Capri, Italy
The setting of Dickie Greenleaf's villa was not filmed in Atrani, despite it being set there. Instead, this was filmed on the glamorous Italian island of Capri.
The island is legendary for being the home of Emperor Tiberius during his retirement from Ancient Roman politics.
In recent decades, Capri has continued to be legendary as a holiday destination for the rich and famous.
Rome, Italy
The main location of the action from episodes 4 to 6 of the series, the ancient capital city of Italy and the previous centre of the Roman Empire means the city is brimming with ancient architecture and cobbled streets that are as old as time.
Here, Tom Ripley begins to build a new life with a new name, but it is also where further crimes occur and everything threatens to unravel.
Palermo, Sicily, Italy
The medieval streets and numerous statues of the capital of the Italian island of Sicily, Palermo, are a key feature of the seventh episode in the series, which sees Tom Ripley hiding out in Southern Italian territory.
Recently showcased on the HBO series The White Lotus, Palermo also provides a location brimming with uncertainty, as Tom Ripley moves through the city with fear of being watched by authorities - and he's wise to worry.
Venice, Italy
The principal location for the finale episode, few places in the world are as romantic or as iconic as Venice.
Brimming with canals and the absence of automobiles, Venice has not much changed from the time of Tom Ripley.
Its medieval magnificence but inevitable doom to sink beneath the waters only adds to its romanticism, making it the perfect site for the show's climax.'

Italian Weddings: How to Plan the Wedding of Your Dreams in Southern Italy
Tumblr media
Introduction Southern Italy is known for its breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and romantic atmosphere, making it a dream destination for couples looking to tie the knot. Whether you're imagining a seaside wedding on the Amalfi Coast or a fairytale ceremony in a historical villa, Southern Italy offers a variety of picturesque locations and traditions to create a memorable wedding experience. 1. Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue in Southern Italy Southern Italy boasts a diverse range of wedding venues, from luxurious seaside resorts to rustic countryside estates. Here are some of the most popular choices: - The Amalfi Coast: A world-famous wedding destination, the Amalfi Coast is renowned for its dramatic cliffs, colorful towns, and sweeping views of the Mediterranean. Couples can choose to marry in iconic locations like Positano, Ravello, or Praiano, where the sunset views are simply magical. - Puglia’s Masserie: In the countryside of Puglia, you'll find traditional masserie, which are restored farmhouses turned into luxury venues. These offer a rustic and intimate setting, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, ideal for outdoor weddings. - Sicily’s Castles and Villas: Sicily offers a touch of old-world charm with its historical castles and villas. Places like Castello di Donnafugata or Villa Igiea in Palermo provide a grand backdrop for weddings with an air of elegance and history. 2. Italian Wedding Traditions to Incorporate Italian weddings are steeped in tradition, and Southern Italy has its own unique customs that can make your celebration special. Here are some traditions you might want to include: - The “Confetti” Tradition: In Italian weddings, guests throw sugared almonds (known as confetti) as a symbol of good luck and prosperity. These almonds are often handed out in beautiful bags to guests as wedding favors. - La Serenata: This romantic tradition involves the groom serenading the bride beneath her window on the eve of the wedding, accompanied by musicians. It’s a symbolic gesture of his love and devotion. - The Tarantella Dance: A lively traditional folk dance often performed at Southern Italian weddings. It's a great way to get guests involved in the celebration and bring a touch of local culture to the festivities. 3. Local Cuisine for a True Italian Wedding Feast Food is a central part of any Italian celebration, and a Southern Italian wedding is no exception. Incorporating local flavors into your wedding menu will give guests an authentic taste of the region. - Appetizers (Antipasti): Start with a spread of fresh seafood, cured meats like prosciutto and salami, local cheeses, and bruschetta topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. - Main Course: Depending on the region, you could serve traditional dishes such as orecchiette pasta with broccoli rabe (from Puglia) or risotto with seafood (popular along the coast). - Dessert: Finish with a classic Southern Italian dessert like cannoli (Sicilian pastries filled with ricotta cheese), or a delizia al limone, a lemon-flavored dessert from the Amalfi Coast. - Wedding Cake: In Southern Italy, the wedding cake is often a multi-tiered creation decorated with fresh fruits, flowers, and sometimes even olive branches to represent prosperity and fertility. 4. Planning Your Wedding Day Timeline Southern Italian weddings typically follow a relaxed, but festive, pace. Here's a suggested timeline: - Ceremony: In Italy, it's common for wedding ceremonies to take place in the late afternoon, around 4 or 5 p.m., especially during the summer months. This avoids the midday heat and allows the couple to take advantage of the golden hour for photos. - Aperitivo Hour: After the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy an aperitivo — an Italian pre-dinner drink, typically accompanied by light snacks. This is a great opportunity for guests to mingle while the couple takes post-ceremony photos. - Dinner: The wedding feast usually begins around 7 or 8 p.m., with several courses served over a few hours. Dinner is an integral part of the wedding celebration, and it's common for it to stretch late into the evening. - Dancing and Entertainment: Once dinner wraps up, the party begins. Many Italian weddings include live music, whether it’s a traditional folk band or a DJ. Don’t forget to include a few rounds of the Tarantella dance to get everyone on their feet. 5. Hiring a Local Wedding Planner One of the most important steps in planning a destination wedding in Southern Italy is hiring a local wedding planner. They can help navigate the complexities of legal requirements, vendor selection, and cultural nuances. A local planner can also offer insider knowledge on the best venues, caterers, florists, and photographers. - Why Hire a Local Planner?: A local planner understands the language, culture, and local vendors, which will make the planning process smoother. They can also help with any necessary paperwork or legal formalities required for foreign couples to marry in Italy. - Cost Considerations: While Southern Italy is generally more affordable than the northern regions, a planner will help you manage your budget efficiently by negotiating deals with local vendors and ensuring all details are accounted for. 6. Timing and Seasons for Weddings in Southern Italy Choosing the right time for your wedding is key to making the most of Southern Italy's natural beauty. - Best Months: May, June, September, and October are the most popular months for weddings due to the mild weather and stunning natural scenery. Summers can be quite hot, especially in inland regions, while winters can be chilly, but still beautiful for indoor celebrations. - Seasonal Considerations: If you're planning an outdoor wedding, consider the availability of shade or indoor options, especially during the hottest months. Spring and early autumn offer the perfect balance between pleasant weather and fewer tourists. Conclusion A wedding in Southern Italy combines romance, history, and breathtaking scenery to create a magical celebration. Whether you're looking for a seaside ceremony on the Amalfi Coast, a rustic countryside wedding in Puglia, or a grand celebration in a Sicilian villa, the options are endless. With careful planning and attention to Italian traditions, you can create the wedding of your dreams in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Read the full article
