Help guys having feelings today about the slow death of American folk tales and the only thing replacing them in commercial IP's.

Like there probably used to be so many cool folk tales/heroes, but now I can only think of four:

John Henry

Johnny Appleseed

Paul Bunyan

Pecos Bill

That's such a small number for such a large country! I only found out about one of them today! Surely there must have been even more. Who were they? I need to know!

We're watching Tall Tale, and I just found out that when my husband was a kid and he and his cousins first watched it, they spent the next few weeks drawing tornados, and if that isn't just the cutest thing! 🥺
