I really wish they didn’t bring Paxton back as a swim coach in season 4, struggling to make friends in college would have been such a relatable plot because its something all most all of us go through. It certainly would have been a 100 times better arc and plot than what they actually did. He is the only character we saw in college so it would have been an interesting plot.  For the daxton scenes they should have just had them interact when he was visiting home for weekends or holidays because Mindy was not gonna give them a real shot anyway.  Lindsay and Paxton... Idk they put absolutely no effort in their relationship. Plus he’s freshly out of high school and graduated college. The whole relationship felt forced and rushed because they didn’t want to leave Paxton out without a love interest in the end. Next for daxton, I really wish they made it more heartbreaking.. committed to pining Paxton and a love confession from him to Devi or Rebecca/Trent and gone down the whole “love you enough to let you go” kinda plot. I love my angst okay. I really liked the handshake. Wish the dialogue that went with it wasn’t so superficial. I’ve been screaming that Daxtons final scene should be them shaking hands and Paxton should be the one who puts his hand out first this time WHICH HE DID. I had to pause and recover. Anywayss I’ve got my amazing daxton fic writers to cope.

I’m only just now catching up on season 3 & 4 of Never Have I Ever, and Paxton just immediately picking Ben up when he says he needs to go to hospital and carrying him out bridal style was Beautiful.

Okay ships aside is NHIE s4 worth watching if you care about what happens to fab, maxi pax, and aneesa - and devi’s own story?

Devi Vishwakumar is one of the best main female characters and I will deeply miss her.

I love how unapologetically messy and chaotic she was. It was a wild ride seeing her make some questionable decisions. It was great to see a woman of color allowed to be messy and entangled in romantic affairs. It was amazing to see Tamil representation and how it focuses on family relationships and how difficult it is to handle cultural and generational differences. Ultimately, NHIE is about a teenager navigating grief and such a traumatic event. Devi and Nalini’s relationship was extremely complicated but perfectly illustrates how difficult it is to raise your kid when you have been raised differently so seeing their relationship grow and evolve to such tender and supportive bond was such a beautiful journey to have witnessed.

Devi was messy, cringey, confused, frustrating but also funny, driven, smart, kind and deeply human. She was allowed to make mistakes and try again until she figures it out. Her growth this season was so brilliant to see and she’s going to make many more mistakes in the future but already has such great support system in her life. Has learned to value herself and her worth. I love she got to have her romantic ending, her dream school and loved for all of her messiness.

I will miss Devi and every character in NHIE, as a show is definitely one I will rewatch multiple times and I cannot wait to see what Maitreyi does with her future because she’s brilliant.

Coach: Son, I know you used to be a student here and I know Devi used to be your girlfriend. Hell, I stood in that hallway gobsmacked when the two of you debuted as a couple. But something tells me had I come in here a couple seconds earlier, I’d have to fired you.

a/n: I know I said that the Jasper one was gonna be out tonight but idk what came over me. The past hour has just been a blur of writing this, I started writing something that was stuck in my head and I just couldn't stop...

Most people would say it’s cliche that I’m dating Ethan Morales, considering I’m known for being a “good girl” as he would say. To that I say you have no idea who the real Ethan is, when he drops his bad boy persona and actually lets his guard down. When it’s just us he can actually be pretty sweet, his favorite thing is definitely cuddling. Sure, he can make me want to punch him sometimes when he gets detention again but everyone has flaws okay (at least that’s what I tell my mother when she complains about him). Back to what I was saying, Ethan is completely different when his friends aren’t around. 

For example, his friends were over a few hours ago for some group project, (which me and Devi basically had to do by ourselves) and not even ten minutes after they left he was sprawled out on top of me, his head tucked by my neck and his arms wrapped around my waist. It’s been at least two hours since they left and he still hasn’t moved, and I really need to pee.

“Baby,” I whispered, “can you get up”

“No” He mumbled, tightening his grip around my waist.

“I need to pee” I whined, attempting to squirm out of his arms. He grumbled but reluctantly let me up, mumbling something about me needing to hurry.

I quickly finished my business and checked how I looked in the mirror. God, boyfriend air was definitely a thing. After I fixed my hair and threw on some chapstick I headed back out towards the couch Ethan was still sitting on. 

“Took you long enough,” He sighed when I sat back down, moving to lay on my chest.

“I was gone for not even five minutes,” I said, raking my fingers through his fluffy brown hair.

“Five minutes too long,” He mumbled, humming at the feeling of my fingers in his hair.

We stayed like that for hours, both falling asleep fairly quickly. Like I said, he is a completely different Ethan than most people know.

Hey! I love that you’re taking fic requests 😊 even though I rarely read fic, I have been imagining what season 4 and the future could hold for Daxton, and I wanted to share those ideas in case any of them inspire you. 😄

Like the other anon said, I think it would be fun to see Devi visit Paxton at ASU. Not sure how she is going to get permission from Nalini to go there, so she might have to come up with a creative reason, ala the model UN episode from season 1. Maybe Trent and Eleanor can join her for this road trip! Or Fabiola, if ASU is hosting a robotics competition. Or maybe Kamala will go there for a biology conference and Devi will help her drive. I think I general those overnight college visits that high school seniors sometimes do would I be a great excuse for Devi to get out of her house. Of course she hasn’t considered ASU, so that might be a stretch. I wonder if Devi will apply to ASU simply because Paxton is there. At the very least, she might be able to use that as an excuse to visit Paxton a few times, even if she doesn’t seriously consider going there.

Something I really want for Paxton in college is to start swimming again. I’m biased because I was a competitive swimmer in high school and college, though not nearly as good as Paxton. I think it would give him confidence to practice something he is good at while he is adjusting to college. And I think it would I be really cool if he was a walk on his freshman year and worked his way up to getting a scholarship again. And since the ASU Mens Swim Team travels to universities all over the country for their meets, that could give him and Devi even more places to meet up. Like Stanford, where Devi might actually go for a college visit. I took the liberty of looking up their schedule and saw that ASU travels to USC in LA for a meet on November 4, 2022. So maybe Devi will find a way to stop by and cheer Paxon on celebrate with him in his hotel afterwards…

I also assume that we will see Paxton in their hometown during college breaks. I hope season 4 picks ups in the summer before he leaves, and that he and Devi hangout several times before then. I think other have already written docs about them going to the beach, and I would love to see more of that.

Even if we don’t get a Daxton endgame in season 4 around the time Devi graduates, I can imagine them reuniting and dating again years down the road. Some others have said they see Paxton becoming a teacher now that Devi has helped him realize he can succeed academically. I can picture him as a history teacher and swim coach. And even though Devi is super ambitious, she might want to move back to LA after college to be close to her mom. Besides there are tons of great jobs in LA. I would love to read fics about Daxton reuniting post college.
