Hey! Hope you're all good. I'm a big &J fan - have seen West End, Broadway and UK Tour so far - but don't have any fandom friends and you seem to be very knowledgeable on it!
What are your thoughts/reasonings behind the Elsa/Cassie character/costume swap?
Any idea why they've changed the Rumor track into Charmion?
Any favourite characterisations from different actors? BJW is so talented but Liam seems to be going the Tom Francis Romeo way of attractive macho idiot which I love. I love the big daddyness that Paulo brings to Lance and the sassier Angelique is the better!
Okay so this is a long one so I'm putting it under a read more
With Elsa and Cassie, it mostly just seems to just be a costume swap because the Eleanor track still includes Portia and Benvolio and the Lucy track still includes Helena. I’m not quite sure the reasoning behind swapping the costume plots, but it probably has something to do with the Lucy plot originally being for a plus size actor so they just gave Elsa that plot while still having her be Benvolio. I do wish that they just had Elsa wear the normal Eleanor plot because it just feels weird to be like “this is the plot the plus sized actor HAS to wear” but i’m not gonna get into it.
As for Cassie covering Anne like the Eleanor track usually does and Elsa covering Angelique and Anne like the Lucy track usually does, that probably was just something that happened to happen with the cast change and who fit which character best. Like how Gabe Amato who is in the Gregory track covers both May and Francois whereas Matt Raffy only covered May but now Nicky Cooper, who is in the swing track Michael Ivan Carrier used to be in, only covers May instead of both May and Francois like Michael used to.
Changing Rumour to Charmion came from Bex Robinson herself! It’s unknown if the changing of the track’s name at all came from her, but she was the one who chose the name Charmion. I think it makes sense to change the name because the original actor, Bobby Pocket Horner, was nonbinary and afaik chose the name Rumour themself, so when the actor and the gender of the actor in that role changed as would the name.
Since you brought up your favorite Romeo, mine is Daniel J Maldonado but Ben Jackson Walker is a very very close second. I really like that they're both sort of a soft boy Romeo. As for Lance and Angelique, I really love Paulo Szot's Lance and Megan Kane's Angelique. Paulo is just such a dad and I love that. And Megan's voice is insane and I love and miss her. Also favorite Shakespeare is Austin Scott, favorite Anne is Betsy Wolfe, favorite Francois is Philippe Arroyo, favorite May is Justin David Sullivan, and favorite Juliet is Khailah Johnson. But like even though I have favorites a lot of the different actors are like super close in the ranking I love them all so much.

LGBT+ Catholic Couples in Brazil Seek Blessing after Vatican Approval
Faithful celebrate Pope Francis's historic decision, even though priests are not obliged to administer the blessing
"The love of God is for everyone, and the church has finally had the courage to accept that," declares 25-year-old Daniella Cardozo from Rio de Janeiro. Bisexual, she has been in a relationship with Marianne de Luna, 28, since mid-2020. A Catholic, she plans to seek a blessing for their union after the Vatican's approval. In a historic decision, the Apostolic See authorized the blessing for same-sex spouses this Monday (18). In Brazil, the National Network of LGBT+ Catholic Groups celebrates the news. For the group, it recognizes and validates the existence of diverse families by the Catholic Church. It is, they say, a positive step towards visibility and acceptance of different forms of love in the community.
However, the papal government did not change its ban on same-sex marriage. The text signed by Pope Francis emphasizes that the act of liturgical giving to same-sex couples should in no way resemble marriage. According to Cardinal Odilo Scherer, archbishop of São Paulo, the opinion is clear. "These are blessings granted by the Church to individuals. This is different from celebrating a marriage or taking action with legal and institutional effects," he wrote to Folha.

Global Reading Challenge: 146/200
A personal reading project, where I endeavour to read a book from each of the 193 United Nations member states plus 7 extra* ones. My main goal is to have fun and to learn, but I do have rules for myself:
The book should be fiction, and preferably a novel. I allow plays and poetry, but non-fiction only as the very last resort
The author should have the nationality of their country. If they have lived a good portion of their life there and genuinely represent the local culture, then it's ok if they've been born somewhere else
I want to read books that represent the local literary tradition. Preferably a "classic", a book that illustrates the local culture, or a book that is famous within the country. I avoid popular and contemporary fiction, and books that play outside of the country.
*Extra states have been determined based on UNESCO membership and personal interest where I want to read more books from. This is not a political statement.

THE DESCRIPTION OF SAINT CLARE OF ASSISI The Patron Saint of Television and Invoking for Good Weather Feast Day: August 11
"I ask to be accepted as a bride of the Lord in monastic life." -Clare (played by Dolores Hart) in 'Francis of Assisi' (1961)
The foundress of the Poor Clares, Clare was born into a noble family in Assisi, Italy in 1194. At the age of 19, enchanted by a Lenten sermon of St. Francis of Assisi, she went secretly to Portiuncula to consecrate herself to the Lord.
After she exchanged her rich gown for a plain robe and cutting off her long hair, Francis gave her sackcloth and placed her in the Benedictine convent of San Paulo, near Bastia. When her relatives came to take her back home, Clare held onto the altar and resisted their attempts, professing that she would have no other husband but Jesus Christ.
In due time, together with the other ladies, she founded a new religious order near the Church of San Damiano. The Poor Clares (Order of Saint Clare), as they are known, practiced a life of perfect poverty and strict penance. They went around barefoot, fasted every day, and never spoke except when obliged by necessity and charity.
In 1228 when Pope Gregory IX offered Clare a dispensation from the vow of strict poverty, she replied: 'I need to be absolved from my sins, but not from the obligation of following Christ.'
Accordingly, the Pope granted them the Privilegium Pauperitatis, which means, that nobody could oblige them to accept any possession.
In 1224, the army of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II came to plunder Assisi. Clare went out to meet them with the Blessed Sacrament on her hands. Suddenly, a mysterious terror seized the enemies, who fled without harming anybody in the city.
Pope Pius XII designated Clare as the patron saint of television in 1958, on the basis that when she was too ill to attend Mass, she had reportedly been able to see and hear it on the wall of her room.
There are traditions of bringing offerings of eggs to the Poor Clares for their intercessions for good weather, particularly for weddings. This tradition remains popular in the Philippines, particularly at the Real Monasterio de Santa Clara in Quezon City and in the town of Obando, Bulacan. According to the Filipino essayist Alejandro Roces, the practice arose because of Clare's name. In Castilian, 'clara' refers to an interval of clear weather, and also to the white or albumen of the egg.
Before breathing her last in 1253 at the age of 59, Clare said: 'Blessed be you, O God, for having created me.'
