just finished xenoblade 2 chapter 6, this came into my head instantly

tags: torna member!reader, silly & wholesome fluff, torna is bad at feelings (yeah, all of them--), slowburn romance

as the new member of torna, you would've expected that your biggest struggle would be fitting into a group with an already established dynamic, not choosing who you want to date!

yet as you joined torna, the five members of it soon all had their eyes set on you and it became quite obvious…

the least obvious one of the group was jin, who paid a little more attention to you and whose gaze you kept feeling on you, yet he never made an outright move on you

compared to mikhail, who was the first one to flirt with you! he was all over you the second you joined the team, only for akhos and patroka to scold him and try to chat you up instead

malos, on the other hand, pretended not to be interested in you at first. only when he got you all to himself did he start teasing you and show interest in you!

it's pretty clear to everyone that they have a thing for you and while they never say it out loud, the looks they give one another say more than a thousand words!

neither of them really needs to ‘play fair’ when it comes to you and try not to hurt their teammates feelings, yet they all do show some restraint

they are a found family after all. there is no obligation to one another, but they still care about each other, even if they would deny it if you asked them!

besides, why fight over you, when they can just work together and try to share you? surely you wouldn't mind that, right?

I really like Akhos and Patroka's dynamic. They're like the younger siblings in regards to the Torna group dynamic. Jin picked them up after they had been on the run for years. They became flesh eaters after consuming their drivers to survive in which their drivers were siblings.

Akhos attached onto the concept of him and Patroka being siblings. He's trying to grasp onto something that'd make him feel human. Patroka was against this idea initially, but we can see felt comforted by it over time. It shows how the flesh eaters, desire to leave their blade restrictions behind. I love how the game depicts how Akhos and Patroka's harsh personalities are likely due to influence of Malos' personality. They tend to desire to please him, and also Jin who essentially raised them to become who they were by the time of the main game.

Even with Nia, you can tell there's a sense of familial bond between them. Even if they're against Nia after she joined Rex, they clearly had a bond beforehand. To Nia, these people were her family, she just found a new one who accepted who she is without her needing to compromise.

Jin, Malos, Mikhail, Akhos, Patroka (& Nia):

Even if a lot of them are underwhelming as characters, their dynamic elevates all of them, and being a villain found family also makes them much more unique imo.

man they did akhos and patroka so dirty in xenoblade 2 like akhos is so cool except he only gets like two good moments throughout the entire game. patroka has it even worse, she doesn’t even get one good moment and has bad voice acting to boot. the two of them are definitely the least plot important members of torna so i get that they’re not gonna get the same time that the rest of them get, but… cmon man they’re so cool, i want more of them

the Team Rocket Trio VS Torna

in this corner we have the Iconic Team Rocket Trio, so famous most people find them synonymous with the name of the organization they are just grunts in. These guys have been together through thick and thin trying to catch that Pikachu.

in this corner we have Torna, a group formed together after many hardships for the purposes of destruction. This group will go through great lengths to protect and meet each other's goals.

patroka nudged your side and glared at you, yet her lips stayed glued to yours.
