How would the different eras of leon comfort a reader who had a bad childhood/ still dealing with abusive parents? For material, theres lotta nightmares about parents, hallucinating, and anxiety symptoms
-🪻
Hi 🪻!
I would love to do this for you! I hope you enjoy and have a good day!! 💕 I rambled a lot with this one as well, just healing myself along the way
Warnings: Nightmares, Childhood Trauma, Comfort, Fluff, PTSD, Mentions of abuse
Gn!Reader

RE2:
He has the most experience with nightmares, he would have them to after everything
I'm thinking of a Leon between RE2 -RE4R
So because he has his own he would have a way to calm down quickly without waking you up. That is until he notices you suffer from them to.
His nightmares make him a light sleeper so I think he would notice something wrong very quickly and immediately pull you into his arms to wake you up.
Depending if it's a night terror or just a nightmare he would wake you up slowly, kisses, soft talking etc
If it's a night terror he would want you to be awake as quickly as he can. So he's shaking you or whatever.
If he knows about what happened in your childhood say for example abuse from parents, he would keep his touch firm but caring if he's waking you up from a night terror.
He'd prefer if you would be open about what the dream was about and your history so he can help you in the best way he can without further causing issues.
Also wouldn't care if you need plushies to sleep, he'd rather have the whole bed covered in them if it would help you sleep. (Really like squishmellows or any Kenji plush)
RE4R:
I like to think this Leon is probably the quietest. Like he's a simple guy and would have music in the background of his apartment at low volumes etc
So you find a lot of comfort here, if you still lived at home with your parents he would let you use his apartment even if he was away on mission
He wouldn't even talk to you either if you didn't want it, he's happy to just have you in his space.
If he's not around and you use his place, he'll make sure to leave a hoodie/shirt for you to use and he doesn't care if you use his bed
He's also happy to do whatever you want to do, so if you do want to talk and chill then he's more than happy to do that.
His chilled out attitude is just great if your household is chaotic and loud, it's a mini escape.
Infinite Darkness:
With this era of Leon I think he would be really good at either preventing anxiety attacks or helping you out of them.
I mean look at how he comforts Patrick at the start of the show, it's such a small interaction but he stays for like an extra few seconds to ensure he's okay because he spots that he's not
He's like a quite observer
So if your anxiety is based on childhood issues like maybe expectations that your parents have placed on you whenever they mean to or not.
He would be very quick to spot any signs of you becoming uncomfortable
Let's face it he's probably already watching you anyway because he always does but he's the type of person to acknowledge the signs that you are doing to have a panic attack
Leon is also not the type of guy to make it a big deal either, like I said with Patrick is a small conversation that no one else really sees or pays attention to so hes not going to bring attention to you at all
It could be a small touch or hand hold. Maybe even creating an excuse to leave
If you are in private I think he would talk to you to distract you from it, or just sit there in silence if you wanted to walk through it alone.
Damnation:
I think he gives the best hugs and has a really protective nature
Again let's say it's something to do with passive aggressive parents I don't think he would hesitate to jump in and defend you
If he found out that it was perhaps more physical abuse than mental he's not letting you near them at all
He would understand if you didn't want to cut them off like he's not going to force you to do that
But he would be silently mad and very watchful when you do interact with them
He's also mindful of how he interacts around you.
Especially with his drinking habits if that's something that makes you feel uncomfortable
RE6:
Following along with the protective nature I think he would amplify this
Like he's not letting anyone near you during an anxiety/any type of episode
I also think he's a great listener so if you do need someone to talk to he's your man
He would offer advice if you need it, he has a lot on how he deals with things and will try his best to not let you follow in his footsteps.
Again with his home being a safe space I think he would actively make sure it is one for you instead of himself
Like say you go out shopping and spot a blanket or something you like he would buy it and keep it at his place
Your parents didn't let you have this toy dw he's got it
He has a lot of money that if you came from a poorer background and are conscious about your own money he will spend it for you
You cannot mention you want anything around him because he'll find it and get it
Vendetta:
Considering in the film Chris mentions that Leon is drinking early in the day I think he would drink that early to either forget a nightmare or get an early start to being able to sleep
So I would think him helping you through your own nightmares would draw him away from this behavior
Both of you working together to create an environment that helps you both sleep is how you would do it
By this I mean, maybe you need nightlights so you would find one that works for the both of you. Same with bedding or the general layout of the room
I think he would prefer to be the bigger spoon, since a lot of Leon's trauma comes from failure to protect people it would make him think he's doing a good job.
I would also say that he would prefer it if the bed was as far away from the door/window as possible and against a wall so you can be tucked away from danger behind him
But if you do have a nightmare and wake him up, he's not going to be mad. He'll talk to you about it if you need that and will help soothe you back to sleep
Not only because he knows you'll return the favor but because it actually helps him
Like maybe he runs his hands through your hair it's almost soothing for him doing the same motion over and over again
Death Island:
Much like infinite darkness I think he's going to be the quiet observing type so if you do space out or start of have anxiety he'll spot it
He's still wouldn't make a scene but would prefer to remove you from the situation entirely with or without an excuse
He doesn't care what your parents think they are assholes anyway for treating you like that
In the same scenario he has an idea of how he would be a parent so I don't think he would baby you but almost apply some of the methods to actually help you out in terms of feeling the right love
I also think he would just generally heal you in any toxic relationship you've had by just showing you the opposite whenever he's doing it on purpose or not
He would make sure he's not overstepping any lines in your healing journey and would want you to take the reigns but if you need to hand them over to him he's okay with that
He'll be your brick wall in whatever you need him
Can't sleep? He's staying up with you and even after you fall asleep don't worry

Daddy Knows Best 3

NSFW rambling 3, previous part.
"Do you want me to...taste it?" You almost whispered into his ear, eliciting an amused chuckle from his solid chest.
"You don't have to ask, kitten," he gently placed his palm on your neck as a sign of agreement. "But I won't lie — your naivety really turns me on."
With that, Bateman kissed you hard on the lips before leading you down to his throbbing dick, encouraging you to take it into your warm mouth, and as you wrapped your soft lips around his leaking tip, Patrick couldn't help but moan loudly, throwing his head back.
"F-fuck," he grabbed a handful of your soft hair and set the pace of your bobbing movements. "Your mouth feels so good, baby."
You just mewled around his hot flesh, trying to concentrate on breathing through your nose, so as not to choke on his huge shaft, and not to think about how much it would hurt if you decided to go further into this dangerous game of unleashed lust.
"Use your pretty hands a little bit," he commented suddenly, before stretching out on the couch to give you more space. "It will help."
Embarrassed as hell, you cupped the base of his thick cock with both hands, not stopping to suck on his swollen tip. Every low growl he made set you on fire and caused your little pussy to drip so badly.
"Mmhm," you whimpered as Bateman pushed you down, thrusting deeper into your mouth, but in the next moment he pulled gently on your hair, forcing you to look at him. "Did I do something wrong, Daddy?"
Patrick chuckled cheekily, tracing his thumb across your glistening lips to smear his pre-cum along them. "No, little one," he pulled you into a passionate kiss, your tongues sliding along each other, and you couldn't help but moan into his mouth. "You did it so fucking well, that's why I stopped you," he crooned, shifting your position so that you were now underneath him on the couch. "Because I'm not done with you yet."
Without breaking eye contact, Bateman slowly drew his thin finger along your taut lower lips, coaxing a muffled gasp to escape your half-open mouth. Then he tugged at the lace of your damp panties, watching your reaction, and when you didn't protest, he pulled them down in one quick motion.
"Such an obedient girl," he hummed to himself, stroking his arching length with his free hand. "Now, listen to me very carefully," Patrick stroked your legs and spread them wider so he could place himself between them. "I need you to do everything I say. Understand?"

Lifeforce?
One of my guilty pleasures is “Lifeforce”, a 1985 horror scifi directed by Tobe Hooper that costars future Captain Picard Patrick Stewart. I recently rewatched it. The movie is so over the top that it becomes a comedy.
It’s is based on a book with the lurid title of “Space Vampires” by English author Colin Wilson. I actually like the book and have read it several times. Despite the title, it’s rather philosophical. It also includes allusions to the Cthulhu mythology by Lovecraft. The movie largely follows the plot of the book but at times it’s ludicrous.
The basic plot is: a manned mission to Haley’s Comet (asteroid belt in the book) discovers a gigantic alien ship containing 3 Naked human looking bodies (1 woman and 2 men). The woman is played by an actress by the name Matilda May. Even I can admire her ample breasts. One of the two men is played by Mick Jagger’s brother (but they don’t show as much nudity of the men).

Anyway, when they return the bodies to earth, the woman awakens and begins sucking out the life force of the men she encounters. They literally become shriveled up corpses. Two hours later, they return to life looking normal but if they can’t suck out the life force of someone else, they explode into a cloud of dust. So they are a hybrid of energy vampire and zombie.

The first laughable element in the movie is that the shriveled corpses look like absolutely fake rod puppets! The woman escapes and starts infecting London.
At this point Steve Railsback is reintroduced. He was the captain of the space mission and somehow developed a psychic link with the woman. Railsback becomes desperate to find the woman and his performance gets increasingly over the top - hysterical even. He practically eats the scenery.
The movie reaches its highest level of absurdity when Railsback’s search for the woman leads him to a mental institution run by Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard two years before Next Gen).
Railsback figures out the space woman has taken over Stewart’s body, so he injects Stewart with sodium pentothal to trap her in the body so he can interrogate her. There is a scene where Railsback is screaming, shouting and slapping a comatose Stewart that is absolutely hysterical. Stewart starts speaking with the woman’s voice and they intercut between shots of Stewart and the woman talking. At one point Railsback nearly kisses Stewart. This scene is worth the price of admission!

Later, all the blood in Stewart’s body is sucked out and explodes like a big red balloon!

Stanford’s Princess
A mini-imagine based off the Movie ❝Challengers❞ .
[college!Art & college!Patrick x college!reader]
┏━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━┓
The California sun beat down on the Stanford tennis courts, its glare reflecting off the freshly painted lines and the sweat glistening on my skin. A crowd roared as I aced my opponent, the final point in a match I'd dominated from the first serve.
My name is [Y/N], and I'm what you might call the "it girl" of Stanford. Not in the vapid, social media influencer sense, but in the way that I excelled in every arena I entered. Tennis was just one of my many passions. Volleyball, badminton, basketball – I was a force to be reckoned with in every sport I touched. Even as a cheerleader, I was the one they threw in the air, the embodiment of the school's spirit.
My image was plastered everywhere – on billboards, posters, the university website. I was the face of Stanford athletics, a symbol of what hard work and dedication could achieve. But beneath the glossy exterior, I was just a girl trying to find her place in the world, balancing my love for sports with my academic pursuits and my desire for a normal social life.
That night, a party was thrown in my honor at one of the frat houses. It was a typical college bash – loud music, cheap beer, and sweaty bodies grinding against each other. I stood on the balcony, overlooking the chaos below, when I noticed two figures approaching me.
Art and Patrick. They were known as Fire and Ice, two of the best players of Stanford. I'd seen them around campus, their cocky grins and hot builds drawing attention wherever they went.
"Well, well, well," Art drawled, his eyes raking over my body in a way that made me feel both flattered and uncomfortable. "If it isn't the queen of Stanford herself."
Patrick smirked. "We just caught your tennis match. You were pretty impressive out there."
I raised an eyebrow. "Thanks. I try."
"So," Art said, leaning closer, his breath hot against my ear. "What's a girl like you doing at a party like this?"
I shrugged. "Same thing you are, I guess. Trying to have a good time."
The conversation flowed easily after that. We talked about sports, about our majors, about our dreams for the future. I found myself drawn to their confidence, their easygoing charm. And I could tell they were interested in me, their eyes lingering on my every move.
As the party started to wind down, Art and Patrick made their move.
"We're heading back to our room," Patrick said, his voice low and suggestive. "You should come with us."
I hesitated, unsure if I was ready to take things that far. But there was something about them, a spark of excitement that I couldn't deny.
"Fuck it," I said, a playful smile on my lips. "Why the hell not."
╰── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╯
The cool night air did little to soothe the knot tightening in my stomach as I followed Art and Patrick towards their dorm. Every step felt like a betrayal of the image I'd carefully cultivated, the "good girl" who excelled in everything without succumbing to the temptations of college life.
But tonight was different. Tonight, I wanted to be different. I wanted to shed the weight of expectations, to embrace the raw, unfiltered desires that simmered beneath the surface. I was tired of being perfect, of always doing the right thing. For once, I wanted to be reckless, to let go of control and see where the night took me.
The anticipation was intoxicating, a heady mix of fear and excitement. I knew what Art and Patrick wanted, and the thought of surrendering to them, of losing myself in their arms, sent a shiver down my spine. It was a dangerous game I was playing, but the potential reward was too tempting to resist.
We reached their room, a typical dorm space cluttered with sports memorabilia, textbooks, and empty pizza boxes. The air was thick with the scent of aftershave and stale beer. Art closed the door behind us, the click of the lock echoing in the sudden silence.
I felt a surge of adrenaline as I turned to face them, my heart pounding in my chest. This was it. The moment of truth. I could still back out, could still walk away with my reputation intact. But the desire burning within me was too strong to ignore.
Patrick stepped closer, his eyes dark with lust. "You sure about this, sweetheart?" he murmured, his voice rough against my ear.
I met his gaze, my own eyes filled with a newfound confidence. "Absolutely," I whispered. "I've never been more sure of anything in my life."
And with that, I took a step forward, into the unknown. Into the arms of the two men who were about to shatter my innocence and show me a world I'd only ever dreamed of.

ShellShocked
After playing around with the idea of a best friends to lovers story in my head for a while, I woke up with this thought yesterday morning. It is 100% @unlikelywrestlingfan fault. So I wrote it down for her.
Summary: Trying to get ready for his next show, Alex asks his long time friend if she wouldn't mind helping him out with a move he's been thinking about.
Warnings: Language, Usage of real name due to one line I really fell in love with and had to write.
“Hey Ellie,” Patrick began as he entered his living room. “If you’re not busy today would you mind helping me out with something?”
“What did you need help with?” She asked as she turned her attention from the t.v. to her friend.
“I need to do a spot at the next show with a girl, but I don’t want it to be the same things I’ve done before. I want it to be different. I was hoping you’d try some things out with me.”
“Or you could just stop beating up women,” She joked.
“Nah. Easy way to get cheap heat.”
“Since when does Patrick Martin take the easy way out?” She asked as she leaned more forward on the couch.
“Never. Alex Shelley on the other hand…here and there,” He laughed. “So are you gonna help me or not?”
“Sure. Just take it easy on me. Remember I’m not trained for this shit.”
Ellie put the remote down on the couch and stood up. This wasn’t the first time she helped him work through some idea he had in mind for his wrestling career, probably wouldn’t be the last either. He took off his hat and tossed it onto the sofa as he met her in the middle of the room. She stood in front of him with her hands resting on her hips waiting. She could see the wheels turning in his head as his eyes were glancing up at the ceiling, temporarily lost in thought.
“So what are we doing?” Ellie finally asked.
“Okay. I was thinking instead of attacking her directly like I usually do, we could do a thing where she runs in trying to help him, but then I grab her and make her watch him getting destroyed by the crew. I just need to figure out the logistics to make it run smoothly. Alright, I think I got it. Slap me.”
“What?” Ellie asked caught off guard by his request.
“Just act like you’re going to slap me. It’ll be fine,” He assured.
“Okay,” She said, still unsure about it.
Ellis brought her arm back then swung forward, hoping the little force she planned on using would be good enough. She was surprised when he caught her wrist midair. Before she could ask him what his next move was, he spun her around calculating the movements so that the arm of the wrist he was holding was across her chest and pinning her other arm down by her side when he pulled her against him before tightening his grip slightly. She gasped when her back met her chest. His other hand went to her hair, being gentle on his friend as he moved it to the side.
“So from here I can grab onto the hair to move her head in any direction. I can fuck around with his head while he’s getting the shit beat out of him by holding his girl and making comments. I could even lick her face, or along here,” He explained as he gentle traced his fingers along the side of her neck. “They love that sick shit there.”
“Do not lick me,” Ellie warned sternly.
“I won’t. Not unless you ask nicely.” He laughed with a wink.
He let go of her wrist and the two quickly made some space between them. Ellie gently rubbed her wrist as she turned back towards him. Not that it was hurting in any way, she just felt like she had to.
“So, what do you think?” Patrick asked as he stuck his hands into his cargo short pockets.
“I think maybe you should leave that company before they corrupt you completely.” She joked as she sat back sown on the couch, pulling her legs up. “Are you sure she’ll be okay with that?”
“Pretty sure based off our history. But I’ll go over all of it with them first and adjust it however I have to.”
She nodded at him. “Sounds good to me then. Different than before, but still along the same lines. I think it’s definitely going to get the reaction you want.
“Thanks,” He smiled shyly, somewhat proud she approved of his idea. “Hey, lunch should be ready by now. Do you want to come with me to pick it up or hang out here?”
“No thanks. I’ll stay here and pic the movie. I don’t trust you to do it after the last one you made me sit through,” She answered as she grabbed the remote.
“Hey! I have great taste!”
“In food yes. In movies, no. Go pick up lunch,” Ellie said dismissing him as she began to scroll through movies on the television screen.
Patrick smiled slyly on his way out the door. Once she heard him get into his car and the engine turn on, Ellie wasn’t able to concentrate on the screen. She could only focus on the butterflies that were still fluttering around her stomach from when he had pulled her against him. And the way her skin tingled from where his fingers touched. She had kept this growing crush for her friend buried down deep inside. Not wanting to ruin what they had based on the lust filled ideas that filled her mind whenever he had his shirt off. But she didn’t know how much longer she could kid herself. This was no longer the “he’s kind of cute” thoughts she began developing long ago. They were growing stronger with each day they hung out together. The way her heart jumped when she’d see his name pop up on her phone went way past the feeling of friendship. And right now all she could focus on was how jealous she was of the girl he would be working with next weekend.

I can't be the only one who wasn’t particularly impressed with Challengers, right?
I mean. The cinematography was great. The music made me feel like I was at a rave in Berlin with the hottest people on Feeld. And the premise was absolutely excellent. Chef's Kiss. Delectable. A pair of bisexual boys being dominated by Mother as they pathetically try to make her their girlfriend? Yes, please. It's the reason I watched it, because it had so much potential.
But.
Is this really it? Is this really all bi representation can come to in this, the year 2024?
I'm just tired.
I'm tired that bisexuals in adult media are represented as these messy, toxic, "don’t know what they want and make it everyone's problem" archetypes that are so demeaning. And that's if they're represented at all.
The bisexuality of Patrick and Art (but more so of Art) is completely left up to your interpretation, and in a world of media that has to come to represent lesbians and gay men in better light, the fact that the same cannot be said about bisexuals is a pity.
I guess, in a way, interpretation is all the bi's have both on and off screen, as it is difficult to pin-point a moment, or a look, or a way of acting that is undeniably Bisexual Coded™️ outside of the sexual spehere.
But that's precisely the point. That is what is so tiring about this conversation. The fact that society's interpretation of bisexuality never moves past a codification, and it's a catch-22. Bisexuality cannot be put in an either/or box. The orientation, and even identity at some points, is fully dependent on context, so it is difficult to grasp by people only attracted to one gender, regardless of context. But because it is contextual and therefore difficult to grasp by society at large, it is often overlooked and misinterpreted, leading to an internalization of negative perceptions and a lack of a third space in the social and mediatic imaginary.
What I am saying is that Challengers had an opportunity to celebrate the bisexuality of Art and Patrick. But instead, it made it a problem. It made it the conflict and called it a day.
And I haven't even mentioned the absolute shit it took on polyamory. Because boy.
It is the same complaint, though. It's about the conflict being based on the miscommunications and unspoken affections of these three people, them clearly being suited for each other, and then throwing in the expectation that the girl HAS to pick one and handling it in the worst possible way. It felt cheap. It felt unintellingent. It felt as "queer" and as "spicy" as that one Saltburn scene was to anyone who has spent more than 5 seconds on Wattpad or AO3: Absolutely mild.
It was baiting at its best for poor polyamory. It was bastardized as a sexy little fantasy the straights and monogamists could indulge in for 2 hours of running time, but now, now, kids. Remember to take your moral of the story with you: Polyamory is Bad, and you can only have The One™️. I mean, there wouldn't have been any toxicity if the conflict had been handled through the lens of normalization of polyamory, and that’s what makes it so frustrating. It would've been funnier, steamier, to have these three come to terms with what they felt and find an arrangement. It would have been more interesting to have Art and Tashi find a way to make ammends with Patrick and reconcile. It would've been wittier if an external force came in between their polyamorous arrangement. Hell, if you wanted to keep your crappy plot, you could've had Patrick fuck Art instead of Tashi as a moment of conflict resolution and that would have sufficed to improve it. But no. Writers in Hollywood have tiny T-Rex hands, and low-hanging fruit is all they're good for.
And look, I get it. I know the movie wasn't supposed to spell it out for you. I know the point was to read between the lines, because this was a tennis movie that wasn't at all about tennis. I know that in the end, there's room for interpretation, to believe that Tashi was hoping they would reconcile and that in the end, they do. I know that. But my point is that the arguments that build the movie's identity as bisexual (and even poly) are blink-and-you-miss-it moments. And on top of that, the qualities that make these characters arguably queer are painted in a negative light.
So, like, yeah. I don’t know who the audience was for this movie. But clearly not the bi's and not the poly's lol.
I saw it with my own polycule, and we couldn't stop raging lol.

Dead and Deader (2006)
Film review #637
Director: Patrick Dinhut
SYNOPSIS: A special forces squad is sent to investigate the loss of communications with a medical outpost in Cambodia are all killed after they are attacked by zombies. Lieutenant Bobby Quinn is one of the soldiers, but wakes up on an autopsy table after his body was taken to a U.S. army base. Now possessing superhuman strength and presumably whatever infection created the zombies, Quinn must find the other bodies of the soldiers killed alongside him before they awaken and infect anyone else...
THOUGHTS/ANALYSIS: Dead and Deader is a 2006 TV film. Bobby Quinn (Dean Cain) wakes up on an autopsy table, having been declared dead on arrival after a mission to a medical outpost in Cambodia killed him and his team when they were attacked by zombies. It turns out that Quinn has the same infection that the zombies have, and must eat red meat to avoid becoming one himself. Learning that the bodies of the rest of the squad have been shipped home, he must put a stop to them before they become zombies themselves and infect the population. Joined by the base chef and a local bartender, the film throws plot out the window, and just fills itself with explosions, cheap humour, and gore; lots and lots of gore. In fact, it is quite surprising just how much violence and blood there is in this made-for TV production. From Quinn cutting his arm open to release a live scorpion form it, to the dismemberment of zombies in every which way, it gets away with a lot of bloody violence. While this is probably the only thing the film has going for it thanks to a middling story and characters that are just cheap imitations of other more successful ones, the film is actually better than you might expect: it is at least creative with it's gore, and it never gets hung up on boring details. I suppose this is important in made-for TV films so viewers don't just swap channels. It knows it needs to hit certain low bars, and it does so without much fanfare. The fact that it does so keeps it from falling into being boring or too hokey.
Despite the potential for a mass zombie outbreak, the film is strung together with cartoony characters and typical one-liners that will have you groaning in begrudging acceptance that they have to be in there. There's also quite a few references to other science-fiction franchises dotted about that are clearly for its audience, and the inclusion of Armin Shimmerman, who played Quark on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Dead and Deader never evolves beyond silly, gory fun, but on this point it seems to do surprisingly well, not falling into a rut at any point, and keeping itself entertaining and surprising with how far it's willing to push the gore. The plot never evolves beyond pure stupidity, but it knows what it is, and I suppose can be excused. Not a good film, but watchable and reasonably entertaining.

CDC Appointment
Dave Weldon, MD
Former Florida Representative Dave Weldon, MD, was chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), replacing Mandy K. Cohen.
“In addition to being a Medical Doctor for 40 years, and an Army Veteran, Dave has been a respected conservative leader on fiscal and social issues, and served on the Labor/HHS Appropriations Subcommittee, working for Accountability on HHS and CDC Policy and Budgeting,” Trump said in the Friday evening announcement.
“Dave also served in a leading role in Government Oversight and Reform Committee Hearings, addressing issues within HHS and CDC. Dave has successfully worked with the CDC to enact a ban on patents for human embryos,” Trump said.
According to Trump, Dr. Weldon will be instrumental in “Making America Healthy Again,” focusing on fixing the previous administration’s “past errors.”
“Americans have lost trust in the CDC and in our Federal Health Authorities, who have engaged in censorship, data manipulation, and misinformation,” he said.
“Given the current Chronic Health Crisis in our Country, the CDC must step up and correct past errors to focus on the Prevention of Disease. The current Health of Americans is critical, and CDC will play a big role in helping to ensure Americans have the tools and resources they need to understand the underlying causes of diseases, and the solutions to cure these diseases,” Trump added.
The president-elect also noted that Dr. Weldon “understands American Family Values.”
“As a father of two and a husband of 45 years, Dave understands American Family Values, and views Health as one of utmost importance,” he said. “Dave will prioritize Transparency, Competence, and High Standards at CDC. Dave will proudly restore the CDC to its true purpose, and will work to end the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and Make America Healthy Again!”

Mathilda May in Lifeforce (Tobe Hooper, 1985)
Cast: Steve Railsback, Peter Firth, Frank Finlay, Mathilda May, Patrick Stewart, Michael Gothard, Nicholas Ball, Aubrey Morris, Nancy Paul, John Hallam. Screenplay: Dan O'Bannon, Don Jakoby, based on a novel by Colin Wilson. Cinematography: Alan Hume. Production design: John Graysmark. Film editing: John Grover. Music: Henry Mancini.
Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce is a delirious mashup of space travel sci-fi, vampire thrillers, zombie movies, sexploitation flicks, and apocalyptic disaster films. A British-American crew exploring Halley's comet, making its appearance near Earth, finds an alien vessel caught up in the comet's wake. All of its batlike crew seem to be dead, but there are three containers on board with naked humanoid beings, one female and two males, in some kind of stasis. Back on Earth, when mission control loses contact with the space ship, a rescue ship is sent. It discovers that everyone on board, except the three humanoids, is dead. The aliens, brought to Earth, awake and begin to create a mess: They apparently have the ability to shape-shift and to suck the life force from humans. Meanwhile, a member (Steve Railsback) of the crew from the original ship who managed to board an escape capsule arrives on Earth to explain what's going on and to help save the planet from the aliens. It's a standard horror-from-outer-space setup, but the script keeps embroidering on it until the creepiness turns ludicrous: Patrick Stewart, for example, plays the administrator of an insane asylum that belongs in a Universal horror movie from the 1930s. The heroes, played by Railsback and Peter Firth, have to dash across an embattled London to St. Paul's Cathedral to kill the female alien (Mathilda May), who is lying on the altar transmitting a glowing stream of human souls to her ship. Somehow, the only weapon that will kill her is an antique sword. Lifeforce, in short, is the stuff of which video games are made. Other than noise and carnage by the bucketsful, it has little to recommend it beyond some wildly entertaining overacting and a preposterousness that can only be called chutzpah.

the book is definitely pretty poorly written, but to me, it wasn’t at all a tortured love story like the film tried to make it out to be. it was part Patrick’s POV and part Marion’s POV and, while both were clearly lost in their obsessions with and fantasies of Tom, Tom still consistently came across as an indisputable asshole and inarguably not good person, even if he was also gay and a victim of the time period. the film also really minimized both Patrick and Marion’s POVs to focus more on Tom, despite David and Emma being leagues more talented than Harry, so the arguments that the filmmakers gave up on artistic merit to chase Harry’s fanbase probably has a lot of truth to it. his fans seem to think just being queer makes someone a good person automatically (as a lesbian, lol no) unless said queer person speaks or suggests ill of Harry (then they’re evil like Mesh), so there’s no way in hell they’d have been able to process a story any deeper than what it was reduced to.
all of this is interesting because one of the aspects of the movie that made it so awful was just how boring and shit harry's character was. he's an asshole and not even an interesting asshole. i felt they wanted us to sympathise with him and see him as a romantic hero for wanting to be with dawson's character. but there was nothing truly romantic or special about their relationship. i was completely unconvinced that they were the love of each other's lives.
so hearing it could've been more interesting because harry's character was meant to actually be dark and hateable, instead of me just finding him that way, could've made for much more interesting viewing.
i think at its base there just wasn't a single compelling reason for why harry married corrin's character and for why harry and dawson like each other that much. harry never felt trapped or forced into the marriage, so therefore the whole secretive forbidden relationship fell flat. harry and dawson did not have a passionate, fun, cute, intimate, sexy relationship. i literally loathed them together. they seemed like smug assholes both engaging in toxic manipulative tactics for what looked like a purely boring sexual relationship. just a mess of a movie, made all the worst by the worst most boring turgid leading actor who just stared out into space or looked like he was reading from cue cards at a children's play the whole movie.

Fashion and the LGBTQ+ Community
Clothes and fashion have long been a part of our culture. Apart from providing shelter from climatic and natural circumstances, they also serve as a foundation for self-identity. Historically, there has been a clear distinction between the sexes when it comes to clothing. However, things have begun to change in the last fifty years. Because fashion is ever-changing, it was simple to adapt to LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and others) trends to produce decisive statements and styles. In some ways, this is akin to the political or cultural influences on fashion. The LGBT community and its culture have had a significant impact on fashion. Several notable fashion designers from the previous century were homosexual. However, owing to cultural pressure, the majority of them stayed openly gay throughout their lives. Only in the 1980s did designers begin to include LGBT culture into their runway designs. Young designers like as Christopher John Rogers, Kelsey Randall, Patrick Church, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and others are bringing a new wave of queer fashion to the modern world. These LGBTQ designers work hard to restore the visibility of the LGBTQ community in fashion, not just via their creations but also through powerful advertising campaigns.
LGBTQ community has shaped and influenced fashion over the years is discussed in the section below.
• Male Cross-Dressing: As discussed above, during the 18th century, secret and small homosexual subcultures formed in many cities in Europe. These cross-dressed men were called mollies in London, where they would gather around inns and public houses. They wore womenswear as a form of self-identification. Gowns, petticoats, fine laced shoes, scarves etc are a few of the examples of clothing items that they wore. Throughout the 19th century, homosexual men cross dressed both in private and public spaces. The Harlem drag balls of the 1920s and Arts Balls of 1950 offered safe spaces to cross-dress that were otherwise denied in everyday life. Drag queens were performers who used womenswear to showcase parody the straight society and create gay humour.
• Effeminacy: Not all gay men wanted to cross-dress. Societal oppression often denied such opportunities. These men would adopt feminine signifiers in terms of mannerisms and styles. Plucked eyebrows, eye makeup, high-heeled shoes etc are some examples. Cross-dressing was illegal in America unless one was attending a masquerade. The effeminate dress code gradually declined with the rise of LGBTQ liberation. However, it still plays an essential role in gay life.
• Masculinity and Lesbian Dress: The adoption of male clothing in women’s fashion started as a protest against the status and role of women in the patriarchal society. Cross-dressing allowed women for a very long time to pass and be accepted as men. However, the period between World War 1 and World War 2 saw a rise in the visibility of lesbians. They started including wing collars, monocles, and men’s jackets as a part of their dressing. Up until the 1970s, the image of lesbians in the public eye was based on a masculine idea. However, not all women wanted to be dressed like men. As a result, they started dressing up in the conventional female attire.
• Subtle Signifiers: The social oppression, as well as the legal limitations, forced the majority of the LGBTQ community to live their lives in secrecy even seventy years ago. Until the gay liberation movement in the 1960s, most gay men and lesbians would dress up so they could be considered heterosexual. However, secret symbols were developed and evolved over time. Certain colours and accessories were used as signals. The green colour was associated with effeminacy and had a gay association in clothing. Suede shoes and red ties were also signifiers during different time periods. Cufflinks, ties, the colour violet and short hairs were signifiers for lesbians.
