Jupiter Influence Among Korean Actors
Over the years, I have noticed a distinct pattern in the Korean entertainment industry, where most stars considered to be icons have strong Jupiter influence in their charts. Korean general public prefers celebs with a graceful and elegant image, who also have "duality" (they're cute but fierce) and Jupiter natives are endowed with these charms.
I had already mentioned female Kpop idols & Jupiter influence on a previous post, so, this post will focus mainly on Korean actors.
Song Hye Kyo is arguably the most successful Korean actress of all time. She has been in the top billing for over 20years at this point.
Tumblr media
She has Hasta Moon (I had mentioned in another post about how Hasta women are revered for their femininity and grace), Uttarashada Ketu (UA gives one a glamorous image) and Vishaka Mercury Atmakaraka.
Atmakaraka is what signifies our soul's purpose, hers lies in the Jupiterean nak of Vishaka.
In fact, its very common for Korean actors to have their atmakaraka or amatyakaraka in a Jupiter nakshatra.
2. Park Minyoung has Venus in Purvabhadrapada as her atmakaraka
Tumblr media
She rose to fame playing a young girl who disguises herself as a guy in order to attend school in ancient Korea. It is her family's dire circumstances that push her to attend school in order to find work. This whole drama is very Jupiter coded and the majority of the cast have strong Jupiter placements as well.
Her most popular drama is What's Wrong With Secretary Kim where she plays the secretary to a CEO who is almost inept without her micromanaging his life. I've noticed that many Jupiter women tend to be in this position where, in whatever relationship dynamic, others don't know what to do in her absence because she often single-handedly runs the whole place and makes it look easy and only in her absence do they realise that its far from easy.
3.Kim Ji-won is Punarvasu moon
Tumblr media
One of her best known roles is that of Choi Ae-ra in Fight My Way, which I would say is a very typical Punarvasu character. Punarvasu's enthusiasm, almost childlike behaviour and charm can fit the description of a quintessential Asian romcom protagonist and Choi Ae-ra is a very good example of the same. Her rise from the bottom rung of the ladder to working hard to get where she is, is also a very Jupiterean tale (since Jupiter moon natives go through their Saturn mahadasha as young adults).
4.Kim Go-eun has Punarvasu mercury & ketu
Tumblr media
Kim Go-eun's first ever starring role was as Eungyo in the movie of the same name.
It is the story of a teenage girl who becomes the object of desire for a 70yr old poet. The movie is very Punarvasu coded imo. In fact, regarding her casting, the novelist, whose book was adapted to the film, had this to say:
"She was perfect for the forever virgin and forever young image that Eun-gyo symbolizes."
This is literally the embodiment of Punarvasu energy which makes the native simultaneously sensual and innocent.
5. Gong Hyo Jin has Vishaka moon atmakaraka and mercury in Purvabhadrapada amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Her character in When the Camellia Blooms is very Jupiter coded. Jupiter energy can often be manifest as a kind of innocence and naivete and a tendency to be a goody two-shoes.
6.Shin Min-ah has Saturn in Vishaka as amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Her most well known role would be that of a doctor in Hometown Cha Cha Cha, in which she plays a person who refuses to compromise on her principles/ethics to get ahead in her career and has to end up leaving Seoul for a small town. This is again, very Jupiter coded because Jupiter influence makes natives very righteous and possess a strong sense of integrity.
7.Han So hee is Vishaka sun
Tumblr media
She was recently in an MV for Jungkook's song 'Seven' which features a quarrelling couple. I've often noticed that with many famous Vishaka women, fighting with their partner, often publicly seems to become attached to their public image. This could also apply to their relationships becoming controversial in general. Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Jennie etc all have their luminaries in Vishaka with the exception of Lana who has a Vishaka stellium and they've all had relationship drama that caught public attention in a major way.
The role that catapulted Han So Hee to fame was that of a married man's mistress in the drama The World of the Married👀
8. Jung So-min has Purvabhadrapada Sun & Venus (atmakaraka), Punarvasu Moon (amatyakaraka)
Tumblr media
in Because This Is My First Life, she plays a broke writer who despite being a good daughter is not appreciated by her family at all, and despite being good at what she does, faces trouble in her workplace and is overall just going through a not so good time . As I've said before, Jupiter natives go through their Saturn Mahadasha as young adults and this phase is a difficult one where they have to work very very hard to get things done and make any kind of progress. Most K-dramas that focus on the adversities of life, as experienced by a 20 something probably has a Jupiter dominant native as its protagonist.
in general, the reason why Jupiter dominant men & women dominate Korean entertainment, be it music or dramas, is because of the kind of content that Korean entertainment focuses on and the kind of people that the Korean public chooses to support. K-Dramas are known for their complex plots, often focusing on people at conflict with their values and ideas, struggling with their conscience, facing life's challenges and overcoming adversity; class struggles, portrayal of wealth/lack of it, rising to the top, underdogs emerging as winners etc. These are inherently Jupiterean.
Even with Korean music, it has a unique system in place where idols have to "train" for several years before they make their debut. Being hardworking and being an "ace" who excels in several areas is prided on in Korea; in such a culture, it makes sense why Jupiter dominants emerge as the ones on the very top of the food chain.
Now, we'll talk about some male actors😋😌
Lee Minho has Mars in Punarvasu & Mercury in Punarvasu (his atmakaraka & amatyakaraka)
Tumblr media
Honestly, his entire filmography is very Jupiter coded 🤣 The role that made him a household name was that of rich, spoilt heir to an immensely wealthy family who is the most popular guy in school and leader of his rat pack.
His most successful role is that of a King in the drama The King: Eternal Monarch which is about an ancient Korean emperor who time travels through a portal into modern-day Korea. Both the fact that he's playing nobility as well as the fact that the drama features time travel/alternate reality esque things makes it VERY Punarvasu coded.
(Punarvasu's element is ether and its deity Goddess Aditi is the Mother Goddess and creator the universe itself, many time travel/movies about the nature of reality feature Jupiter natives)
The drama co-stars Kim Go-Eun, who I have already mentioned above as a Punarvasu girlie🥰
2. Gong Yoo is Punarvasu sun (amatyakaraka)
Tumblr media
He starred in the movie "Silenced" which was based on a horrifying true story where he plays a teacher at a school who tries to stand up for and protect differently abled children who are routinely subject to extremely cruel and abusive treatment at a boarding school.
Punarvasu natives are known for standing up for others, especially those who do not have a voice/who are unable to stand up for themselves. These natives have a strong sense of justice and empathy and do not think twice about questioning authority.
His character in Coffee Prince is one which made him a household name and in this drama, he plays a chaebol heir who falls for a young guy who is actually a woman disguising herself as a guy 💀I feel like Jupiter men have at least one movie/show in their filmography that is very queer coded (ex: Keanu Reeves, Punarvasu Moon with My Own Private Idaho)
His most well known character is that of Goblin in the drama of the same name, where he plays an immortal who seeks salvation. Very Punarvasu coded.
This is just a personal observation but I've noticed how many Punarvasu men have an androgynous vibe 🥵
3.Kim Woo Bin is Punarvasu sun (atmakaraka) and mercury
Tumblr media
His breakout role was that of a wealthy chaebol heir in the drama, The Heirs.
Playing the CEO's son or the CEO, who is initially arrogant and then faces different trials and tribulations and ultimately redeems himself is a common Kdrama trope and I've noticed that the actors picked for these parts the most tend to be Jupiter-dominant.
4.Song Joong Ki has Vishaka moon & saturn (his atmakaraka)
Tumblr media
Vishaka is a rakshasa gana nakshatra and I'd previously observed how many mafia movies feature rakshasa gana natives as the main leads. Joong-ki's Vincenzo sees him play a mafia lawyer.
His character is Arthdal Chronicles (featuring fellow Jupiter girlie, Kim Ji Won) is also very Jupiter coded. Its about the birth of civilization and life in the ancient world. Joong Ki plays the leader of his clan.
5.Park Seo Joon has Purvabhadrapada moon (his amatyakaraka)
Tumblr media
He is one of those actors who plays himself in every show/movie he does. This means all his characters are charming, slightly awkward or a little dumb, but good natured and caring individuals who go above and beyond for others. This is like a quintessential Jupiter man trope.
Especially his character in Fight My Way, is VERY Jupiter coded and features fellow Jupiter native, Kim Ji-Won.
A slightly stupid but endearingly adorkable guy who works a low end job and trains to be a boxer whilst looking out for his friends and loved ones? Especially his whole side arc with his ex gf on the show is such a Jupiter guy thing; to forgive a woman and be there for her even though she never cared for him and only kept him around because he was sooo nice to her and did everything for her. I've seen this happen with many Jupiter guys because as Claire said in her video these are the nice guys who women keep in the friend zone because even though they're perfect and extremely courteous, women don't feel like they could be a serious partner.
His character in Itaewon Class explores Jupiter in a different way. He is a struggling businessman who is engaged in a long drawn out battle with a chaebol and finally emerges victorious in the end. Despite the chaebol's petty and below the belt tactics, Seo-joon's character always took the high road and held on to his principles and conducted himself with integrity. Jupiter natives are almost always destined to be the bigger person.
6.Park Bogum has Mercury in Punarvasu as his atmakaraka
Tumblr media
He rose to fame for playing a motherless prodigy on Reply 1988. His character was a typical Jupiter one; he's very talented, successful and recognised for the same but he takes no pleasure in it and does not really indulge in the privileges it offers him.
His most famous role would be that of a Prince who falls in love with his eunuch (who is actually just a woman pretending to be a eunuch) in the drama Love in the Moonlight. Like I said before, Jupiter guys have at least one queer coded project in their filmography lol.
7.Park Hyung shik has Sun & Mars in Vishaka (his atmakaraka & amatyakaraka)
Tumblr media
His most famous role is that of a CEO in the drama Strong Girl Bong Soon.
8.Yoo Ah In has Venus in Vishaka as his atmakaraka and Jupiter in Purvabhadrapada as his amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
His character in the movie Burning represents the dark side of Jupiter men.
His drama Chicago Typewriter features him reincarnating in present day Korea after initially living in the 1930s.
Jupiter influence is visible in movies/shows that have tropes of alternate reality, reincarnation, time travel etc.

ᡣ𐭩 Seo Soomin was born in Seoul, South Korea on May 11, 1999. She was born into the Seo-Park Family, a famous Korean family full of models, actors, and fashion icons. Soomin was born as the youngest of three snobby older siblings: her two older sisters, Soojin & Minju, and her older brother, Soobin. Due to growing up with a family with horrible personalities and insane amounts of wealth, Soomin turned out to be very spoiled and rude.
Her family’s fame opened the door for Soomin to get a bunch of opportunities she didn’t earn. When she was sixteen, her parents paid for her to her music career as a soloist despite having no prior experience in performing. Although she didn’t earn her career fairly, her visuals and surprisingly good vocals attracted South Korea, and her debut song debuted in the top 10 on the global charts. When Soomin turned nineteen, she announced her hiatus as a soloist because she would be joining a survival show the following year to debut in a group.
Soomin participated in I-Doll in 2019 and ended up ranking #10. Despite her being a nepo baby, most people hated how obnoxious her family was, and she even had a lot of backlash for being on the show in the first place and making it into the debut lineup. Soomin debuted in VIVACE on September 17, 2019, as a Vocalist, Rapper, & Dancer, and in their third sub-unit, Cateye, on December 11, 2019, as the Leader, Main Rapper, & Lead Vocalist. Soomin has claimed she isn’t like her family anymore, but a lot of people don’t buy it and have said she’s very passive-aggressive and rude behind closed doors.

ᡣ𐭩 Cai Yumei was born on June 13, 1999 in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China to former professional dancers. Yumei’s parents taught her how to dance from a very young age, and she participated in many dance shows and competitions. By the age of thirteen, she was named one of the most talented dancers in the country, but later that year, during practice, she fell and had to be rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, her doctor informed her that she had fractured her knee and would have a high chance of never dancing again.
Yumei was devastated by her injury and had to stop dancing to focus on school and starting physical therapy. Her love of dance never vanished; she could even begin to slightly dance at eighteen after years of recovery and physical therapy. To her surprise, a talent agency located in South Korea reached out to give her a contract as a dancer, and she immediately accepted. Yumei moved to Korea and trained her dancing more as a trainee under the company and was amazingly regaining functions in her injured leg.
In 2019, Yumei’s company sent her to audition for the idol survival show I-Doll, where she ranked last place at #13, just barely making it into the debut lineup. Yumei debuted in VIVACE on September 17, 2019, as a Dancer & Vocalist and in its third sub-unit, Cateye, on December 11, 2019, as the Main Dancer & Sub Vocalist. To this day, Yumei’s injury still isn’t fully healed, and she experiences a lot of pain if she dances too much, but her story has inspired a lot of people to chase their dreams despite the difficulties.

tw : abusive father, alcoholism, domestic violence
ᡣ𐭩 Katherine Kim was born in New York City, New York, USA on October 12, 2001 to a newlywed Korean couple. She grew up close to her mother due to her father's growing alcohol addiction, and her mom gave her the nickname Kitty, which stuck through her childhood. They even ended up making it her legal name on her tenth birthday. Around the age of twelve, Kitty accidentally found out about the long-time abuse her mother had been facing at the hands of her father after walking in on him hitting her mom after an argument.
Kitty’s mom told them not to worry about their father, to keep quiet around him, and to focus on her education. So with that, she lived four more years having to deal with her father’s abuse towards her mother until the night before her fourteenth birthday when they and their dad got into a horrible argument about Kitty wanting to pursue a music career instead of going into business like he was. Kitty’s mother walked in the middle of her husband, hitting Kitty, and then immediately grabbed Kitty and ran.
Her mother filed for divorce and took Kitty to move with her back to South Korea. Being away from their father was the most free Kitty had ever felt in her life, and they could start doing the things they liked, including singing and dancing. At sixteen, she got into a talent agency to pursue a singing career and auditioned the following year on the survival show I-Doll. Despite having no prior fame before the show, Kitty quickly became a fan-favorite contestant and finished the show ranking #9. She debuted as a Rapper, Vocalist, & Dancer of VIVACE on September 17, 2019, and the Lead Rapper & Lead Dancer of their third sub-unit, Cateye, on December 11, 2019. Kitty is known by fans as the OT13 Fairy because, despite the members disliking each other, they always finds a way to get them together for photos/hangouts and seems to be the glue holding them together.

tw : death of a family member, mentions of drug dealing
ᡣ𐭩 Zhao Xinyi was born on January 4, 2002 in Shanghai, China to a low-income family with her mother, father, and older brother, Xuejian. Her family struggled a lot with money issues, and her parents took up multiple jobs to support them. Xinyi had always felt like she deserved better than what she had with her surprisingly strong singing abilities and natural beauty. Even from a young age, she knew she would be a star. When she was only eight years old, her mother and father ended up passing away in a freak accident, and Xinyi was sent away to live at an orphanage with her then sixteen year old brother.
Only a year after living at the orphanage, Xuejian ended up falling into a life of drugs and started selling them to make money. One night, he ran away from the orphanage without even telling Xinyi, and due to her getting adopted a few weeks later, they lost contact with each other and haven’t spoken since. Xinyi’s new family was everything she had ever wanted. Rich, famous, superstars, everything she had looked up to as a child, and anyone could see she was letting it get to her head, gaining a massive ego. Her parents commonly moved to different places worldwide for work, including France, Greece, and Canada, but they decided to stay in Seoul, South Korea, for a while to settle down.
To no one’s surprise, Xinyi was scouted by a bunch of major companies over the years, but declined a lot of them because they didn’t fit her standard of perfection. At fifteen, she was scouted by a super famous company that even offered to pay her family to get her to join. She joined the company and was known as the Ice Princess trainee for her cold personality, and some trainees were even scared of her. In 2019, she auditioned on I-Doll and ranked #7 and debuted as a Vocalist & the Maknae of VIVACE on September 17, 2019, and in Cateye on December 11, 2019, as the Main Vocalist & Maknae. Xinyi is regarded by the members as possibly the meanest member in the group and doesn’t even try to hide her dislike for the other members, even going as far as publicly slandering them multiple times. Although she has a huge ego, she knows her talent and visuals make up for it, so she doesn’t really care about repercussions.

Park Min Young as Choi Sang Eun in Love in Contract (2022)

Can you recommend like a fun, silly, summery drama? I'm looking for similar vibes as Cheer Up or Age of Youth (female friendships are a plus). It's hard to find something without melodrama.
First off, I LOVE your user icon! (- ‿◦ )
And I definitely want to help you find something silly and easy to watch, especially as we enter the depths of winter! Some of these are a little less slice of life but still fun. Also I know you already watched/mentioned a couple of these but I'm adding them to the list for everyone else who might be game!
Light Hearted Fun K-dramas (little or no melo)
Soundtrack #1 (slice of life/romance) Best friends for almost 20 years, the two leads start having feelings for one another while working on a project. This drama only has a few episodes which is a shame because it's really cute! As a Park Hyung Sik Stan (sorry but Happiness broke me), he's great in this one and he hasn't lost all of his military weight yet which I LOVE :D
Tumblr media
Fanletter Please! (slice of life/ romance) A sick child writes fan letters to her favorite star, an actress who for kdrama reasons is afraid of fan letters. This was a super sweet, short drama - I really liked it so much!
Into The Ring (workplace/romcom): The perfect slice-of-life rom com! Goo Se Ra has trouble holding down a job due to her passionate personality so after she loses her latest job working for the ML, she decides to run for a small government office position because it pays a salary. Literally she does it for the money which is just *chef’s kiss.* The show is about her dealing with local politics and it’s SO FUNNY and smart and the OTP is the best!
King The Land (rom/com): A cold chaebol hotel owner meets his match (literally and figuratively) who is a top notch employee. There's a lot of push pull and the ML (MY BIAS!) Lee Junho's character falls hard and fast. It does have slow moments but if you literally want to watch a happy couple be happy (plus the skinship is chef's kiss and there is so much of it) you'll enjoy this one.

Melo Is My Nature (slice of life): This drama is by far my favorite slice-of-life drama of 2019. Found family, strong and complex characters, I laughed, I cried. Plus a gay character that’s an actual character, with the gay as a casual side note (classy k-drama!!) It was just a perfect show for me. There’s romance, but all of the stories are super interesting.
Top Management (slice of life) I know this show is mainly on Youtube Premium BUT I just got an email from Youtube basically saying “hey we know you never want to pay to watch our shows so we’re just going to let you ok?” so that’s something… Adorable mini drama about a girl who can see the future and becomes the rookie manager for a kpop band. Fun and easy.
Business Proposal (rom/com) Seriously this drama is almost the exact same plot as The Secret Life of My Secretary. It's really fun and cute (just like the latter) and if you like one, you'll like the other ;-)
True To Love / Bo Rah Deborah (rom/com) Bo Rah is a relationship expert publishing her book. She works with a man who is her total opposite making it a cute enemies to lovers. Yoo in Ah is literally so adorable I love watching her! (If I'm honest I can't remember a TON about this drama but I do remember it being an easy watch).
Tumblr media
Her Private Life (romcom): Park Min Young really knows how to pick dramas. I loved this one about a museum curator who is secretly a fangirl obsessed with an idol. It’s fun and fluffy but does have a very mild childhood trauma thing with his mother but I mean, 99% of dramas like this do? If you like this one, Touch Your Heart and Why Secretary Kim are by the same person and have similar vibes.
Touch Your Heart (rom/com) A sweet, silly and very mild rom com about a serious boss and his hallyu star secretary. This show was an obvious response to the chemistry that Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na had in Goblin so it was nice to see them together again. Yoo In Na is such a fun person to watch!
Fight for My Way (slice of life/romcom): I love this drama! Always a fave for me, this drama is funny and heartwarming! The leading lady is a strong female which I LOVE, and Park Seo Joon plays her really cute down to earth best friend. It’s a childhood friends to lovers trope with a group of regular people (no rich heirs in this show!) and has a happy ending and a lot of cute flirting, cuddling and kissing. Argh I love these two!
Age of Youth 1 (slice of life): Age of Youth/ Hello My Twenties is one of the best k-dramas that centers around strong female friendships. A group of wildly different girls find themselves rooming together in an apartment. Lots of romance too, but the girl’s lives and friendships are the primary focus.
Shopping King Louie (romcom): Ridiculously fun and lighthearted romp following a spoiled and useless chaebol with amnesia who is being taken care of by a country bumpkin in the city. Very low stakes, super adorable couple, and as many tropes as you can fit in your bag, this one is one of my favorites to recommend.
Eulachacha Waikiki / Laughter In Waikiki (slice of life comedy, romance) I hope you’re ready for a crazy amount of unlikely situations and nutty hijinks because this show is probably one the most silly ones I’ve ever watched. It follows a group of friends who own a hostel so it’s a slice of life drama. At certain points I was like “this is TOO silly” but I’m glad I stuck with it cause it was so hilarious. Plus, the baby is a star!
Wok of Love (rom/com) Despite the fact that the show was shortened by two episodes because of sports, this drama is a funny and quirky show worth watching. Many people dropped it because it was SO crazy for the first couple of episodes (it has a talking horse people!), but it does settle into a really sweet and fun story about a chef, a gangster and a rich girl and her family. If you love food, this show is for YOU!
And finally, if you don't mind a bit of melo, I highly recommend Run On!
Enjoy <3

During this Venus rx find yourself a bold person!
